Reserved a 26’ truck and trailer w/ hand-dolly a week in advance. Had two automated calls AND spoke with Andrew to confirm my order and that it was READY to pick up. I also requested to pick up the car dolly at a later date.When I arrive at Home Depot, the tools rental clerk who was more than helpful informed me that the trucks “check engine” light is on and water in the gas tank. He also said they didn’t have a hand dolly available… after a phone call with Penske, they agree to send a truck to my house and I ask the Home Depot clerk if I am able to come and get the car dolly still. He says yes. The Penske truck shows up with the car dolly attached…Rent from somewhere else…

The folks at Penske Truck rental in the Home Depot in Georgetown, TX, is very knowledgeable. And a heck a lot cheaper than U-Haul! We will get our truck next week. Ill come back to give that review.Update: yes we would rent from them again, they made it very easy. The staff was great & funny. They enjoy their work. Great customer service. Had a small issue with driver window while in Santa Fe, NM, Penske had someone there at our hotel within 90 minutes. Penske was superb to work with on the phone.

Although Ive had a good experience with Penske through Home Depot I must say that today was one that left me totally at odds with those previous feelings.It has been difficult to get the truck I needed from Penske. I asked for a smaller 12 ish truck and received a 16 foot. This has happened twice. Penske says that I will get the truck I need (they come from Austin) but I always get a much larger one. One, I might add, which costs much more in gasoline and is more difficult for a woman my age to manage. The man in the truck rental behind the Home Depot desk also guaranteed me, just the night before, that I was getting the truck I asked for. I ordered this truck a week in advance.I also ordered one dozen blankets which turned out to be only ten blankets. When I returned the blankets they charged me for two dozen. I rented the truck for 2 days at 616.36, got the truck back in 1 day and one hour and they still charged me 438.24 which credited only 178.12 back to my credit card. I was wondering why the Home Depot employee was saying goodbye to me so quickly....he really didnt want me to read the receipt I was attempting to read. Should have stood my ground and read every line. Shame on you.
