This is the place folks. Great set-ups, excellent repair work, nice people, and a lot of basses. I have been a client since the Bass Violin Shop opened. I have had a lot of work on my basses done there and it is always top notch. Bass players around here used to drive to NYC or Cincinnati to get our work done. Now we drive to Greensboro and Bass players from all over come to the BVS. Did I mention the bass set-ups? The best. Butter. Lots of great basses for sale. Strings, pick-ups, bows etc.. A great Bass Shop.

They let us try out different sizes of double basses. He showed so many things about the bass. He was patient and let us explore on our own for a bit. They repair, sell, and rent bass violins. While there, we even got a mini concert of other more prolific players who were also trying out different basses.

Where is that 6th star option? I cant say enough about the professional level of service, the expertise, and inventory at the BVS. Driving 3 hours each way to see them paid off majorly for me. SO many great sounding basses, perfectly set-up. They never lost patience with me after trying out dozens of their double basses. I came for a different bass, but after much testing and guidance from Cody, as well as Bob, Sanders, Tony and Teresa, I found a completely different bass which just simply spoke to me. I can not overstate how great a company this is. They are TOTALLY FIRST RATE luthiers, they all play bass, and they know their craft. This is not the last bass I will be buying from them. Visit them one time and youll see exactly what I mean. 6 stars.

Entire staff made the long-distance bass buying process a pleasant experience. Bass arrived with an issue, Bob went out of his way to make it right and handled a difficult situation with pure class. I could not be more pleased with how they do business. Next time I need an instrument or bow they will be my first stop. Thanks Bob!

Recently sold my double bass on consignment through the Bass Violin Shop in Greensboro, NC. Bob and Cody were very knowledgeable and professional in assessing and pricing the bass. Marketing of the bass was beautifully done. Updates and communications about pricing adjustments and sale of the bass was prompt and utterly professional. The bass sold to, I trust, a happy owner and the whole experience was hopefully a win - win - win for all. Great people!

BVS is a top tier bass shop! The team at BVS are kind, knowledgeable and helpful with all things bass. They have a huge stock of basses in all price ranges from beginning to museum quality. When traveling to their back workshop room you get the feeling they are over qualified for the high level restoration work they have going on. I recommend any bass player to look at BVS for thier double bass needs

Not many Upright Bass shops around, but am glad this one is! You wont find a more knowledgeable, caring, and welcoming staff. These guys are the best around! They go above and beyond to fix any issues with any Bass and are upfront and honest about the work needed or recommended. So glad this place is a few minutes down the road!!

Brought my William & Sons German plywood bass in for a set up. It came back better than brand new. Everything about it was improved! Bob, Sanders and the gang are easily the best at what they do and incomparably friendly to boot. Highly recommend. Also, Bob was incredibly kind in assisting me with research on the local music scene.

These fine folks were delightful, personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. With a hard-to-get bass in stock, they reserved one and worked with my schedule so that I could procure the instrument I had literally spent months researching. I would be remiss NOT to recommend them highly.

I am not a usually one to post a review, but we are so lucky to have these craftsman in our backyard! The neck of my sons bass was snapped off during an overseas move. The Bass Violin shop did the repair and I am glad to report that 2 years later the bass is still in beautiful shape and sounds great! I also appreciate the info they send on the local events for the bass playing community. Thanks Bob, Teresa and staff!

Very Professional, honest and the work is accomplished in a timely manner. One of the better upright bass shop/repair establishments in the Southeast, if not the best. Classical, Jazz, etc. player demands.... Thank you Teresa, Bob and Sanders. =)

This shop truly is remarkable. Theres a reason guys like Victor Wooten and Stanley Clarke bring their basses to here. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, while Bob is an exceptional luthier. We truly are lucky to have such a great shop in North Carolina.
