Support local businesses! Ive just had a horrible online experience when I ordered my first instrument. Lesson learned!!! So, I stopped into Music Barn as a novice. I was greeted and helped by a nice big as a mountain bear of a man to help me replace my crushed online purchased Uke. Like all small local businesses he explained how they reopened and were looking to restock but I found the tenor I wanted with no issues. He turned out to be one of the owners, a nephew by the name Tommy. What I appreciated was that he made me feel welcomed and didnt treat me as an inferior: common complaint if youve been to other music stores around town as a newby. Also, Tommy doesnt charge music teachers who need a place to teach! Thats his way of supporting local artist and music teachers! If they dont have what your looking for then give them a chance to get it for you but for basic supplies we should should support Tommy and his team!
I visited here a few years ago to check out some Electric guitars and they were super friendly and kind and helpful. Wish them success. :)
Love this place. They are very knowledgeable about all the products in the shop. The person who does repairs really know their stuff too. All around professionals.
Wonderful place. The staff are friendly and super knowledgeable. I really trust this place.
Music barn is a great place with reasonably priced instruments, and great people running this business!
Had any guitar rewired and set up here recently. Quality work and affordable price.
. When I came in I was greeted and made to feel right at home, very comfortable environment and they guys there were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately were slowly losing great places like Music Barn to online retailers and corporate giants like Sam ashe music, guitar center and a couple more.Anyone who plays guitar or any instrument should pay more attention to locally owned brick and mortar stores like this. I loved it and will be back
We were in the area and decided to stop in to see if we could get some guitar strings, and was pleasantly surprised by this store. They carry a fairly wide variety of popular strings at decent pricing. They also have a bin full of various discounted name-brand strings for four dollars per pack. Many types of instruments are on display here. The main floor is largely full of guitars and other stringed instruments. The back room was mainly displaying percussive instruments, with several drum kits set up. The guitar selection was nice, with a decent range of pricing. We were able to browse freely and staff was readily available for help with anything. Nice atmosphere.
I absolutely love this place!!!! These guys are the best!! Wether youre spending $100 or $1000, you still get great service! From the moment you walk in the vibe is WONDERFUL!!!🎸🎤🎹🎶
They are a great chill place and I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a vast selection definitely coming back again
Awesome place
GREAT place with very knowledgeable staff. I got some things there I have been looking for for yearsThey showed me how to play my bass ukulele in a different way that sounds much better. They also know more about folk and unusual instruments than any music shop I have found as a full time RVer traveling coast to coast, even in the wilds of Maine and TN. It is going to be my go to place. Very good prices too. Chris
Apsolutly love this place. Russ is an amazing teacher. The staff are all friendly and willing to teach you a little if you know nothing about what your buying and the atmosphere is amazing. Not stocked full of fancy extras but they have the backbone of what you need. Will be looking to buy things I need there first.
Super impressed with, not only the shop itself, but with how knowledgeable, non-judgemental, and pleasant Russ was. I barely had a clue what I was doing and the guy walked me through what I needed to know in such a guiding and mentoring way. Can’t wait to come back. Great experience
AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! I was in town over thanksgiving weekend and went to visit the music barn because of their large selection of Martin guitars. I was looking to purchase my first Martin and was excited to be able to get my hands on and play multiple different models. Since the moment I walked in the door, the staff went out of their way to make sure I had anything that I needed and all the instruments were accessible, even going so far as to change the strings on multiple guitars for me to come back and play again the next day. Russ, Jordan, and Sean(or Shawn) offered great advice on the guitars (sound, quality, woods, tone, pros and cons), and were all very knowledgeable. I spent about 4.5 hours in the shop over Fri and Sat, and when I left Sat with my new Martin, I was 100% confident that I had purchased the guitar that I wanted, that had the sound I was looking for. The Customer service I received at The Music Barn was second to none, even with a busy store and multiple other customers, the staff always made sure to check in and even sit, play, and offer advice. They made it a point to make sure that I bought the instrument I wanted, and they went above and beyond to help me make that decision. When I left, I felt that they were just as stoked as I was about the guitar that I was leaving with. When I purchase any more instruments, this will definitely be my go-to shop, even living 3 hours away.
These guys are really friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I am glad I bought my first acoustic guitar here. They asked me all the right questions and provided very useful feedback so I could make an informed decision as a beginner guitar player. And they gave me plenty of time alone to try different models for myself, to find the fit and sound I liked without feeling pressured or rushed. I have had great service after the sale, too. Skip the big box music stores and give these local guys a try.
A genuine old school music store, not the music mall...Lost of equipment and spare parts. The salesman ate great, take there time and actually talk with you. I recommend Music Barn over any music store in Greensboro
The Music Barn is possibly the best music store in the Triad area. Its a locally run business and has a knowledgeable staff with an easy-going attitude.I wanted to write a review because over 10 years ago, I spent a lot of money there and they matched prices for me more than once at a time when other places wouldnt. I wanted a deal and they were cool to work with me and treated me with respect and good customer service. They have a large selection both there and off-site, so if you ask them, they can tell you more about their stock.
This is the only place I would buy a guitar in Greensboro. Great staff, great selection. Support local business!
The absolute best place in greensboro to get anything for instruments.... great staff always willing to help with a great variety
People think this is a Bluegrass store. WRONG! The Music Barn is a well-stocked, complete music store with the broadest selection of instruments in town. They stock a full line of brass & woodwinds, percussion and accessories as well as guitars, basses, banjos, fiddles and mandolins. Also special edition instruments are for sale. This is a COMPLETE, locally owned, full service store.
Always a great place! Knowledgeable courteous folks.
Great place helpful staff an example of what all business should be
Nice people known them a long time good selection of musical instruments
I always received friendly knowledgeable answers to any questions I had!
They have some really nice things, and some really low end stuff.
Great place to get music class.
Locally owned and operated, great staff, and a great selection of instruments and accessories. Some of the most passionate and friendly people in the area.
Love this place. Great place to get all of your musical instrument needs
Perfect customer service and guitars. The guitar center doesn’t even come close on how hood it is here
Very helpful, friendly
So thankful I went to the music barn. Worked with Jordan to change over a right handed ukulele to a left handed ukulele. He put on new stings and got me out in no time.
Great service and great products! Our new place to get all of our gear.
I take lessons at music barn and they are so nice to me
Very solid music store. I was impressed by their selection of quality acoustic guitars and Mesa amps!
Staff are very friendly and willingly to help. Even they didnt have the item I was looking for, they willingly called another store to ask for item I looked for.
Terrible service. Left my guitar with them for three weeks and they never touched it. Charged my friend $40 to change his strings. Never go here.
Wonderful gear, great guys running the place.
Great place ... Come by for friendly staff. They sell what you neede instead of what they want you to have...
This place is a cozy guitar center!
Very knowledgeable and helpful!
Good people to work with
The focus is on guitars and amps.
If you hate being bothered about signing up for credit cards and buying protection plans youre going to love this place!
