We are conflicted about this review. We are very pleased with the final project. We replaced the floors in our kitchen and three baths and built a tile walk-in shower. The tradesmen were extremely pleasant and very skilled. We love the result. However, working with Kyle, the company owner was extremely frustrating. He is a very nice guy, but follow up was terrible. More often than not, when we tried to reach him the mailbox was full. Three times over the course of a month he said he was coming to go over progress and didnt come or call. We waited all day. He would say he was going to call and wouldnt. If he did come to the house he was never on time, including the last meeting, when he repaired a small area and delivered the final invoice. On one occasion when a plumber was hours late we called for an update. Kyle said he would check and never got back to us. Imagine our surprise when the plumber showed up around 7 and worked til 9. As much as we like the end result we cannot recommend this company.
Its taken me 2 months to get to the point where I could write an unemotional review, one more grounded in an honest assessment with my thinking being clearer. At least for me when Im emotionally charged Im not as rational as I should be. Blue Mountain Flooring is not a perfect small business; however its a very good one. Kyles company has completed 2 entire home flooring jobs for us. Blue Mountain subcontracts out his installers and Ive found them to be very experienced except for a couple of apprentices. Kyle the owner Ive found to be a honest and fair man. He has met a competitors price twice for me (with documentation). Blue Mountains 1st install was a 6 star from start to finish. The most recent install was a 4 for several reasons. The installation was done on time, professional, and the installers were amazing, coordinated, and hard working. The contractor who remodeled our 2nd home pointed out several things the installers/subcontractors did not do precisely, or could have done better. Once again they were hard working, and coordinated but 1or 2 of the installers must have been apprentices as most of the work was professional as before; however the rooms where the apprentices worked lacked the preciseness ( nothing major) we had come to expect.Once the installers left Blue Mountain requested final payment. Because several rooms had small issues (as pointed out by my contractor) but not large ones I responded to the request for final payment with a text that it was not customary for me to make final payment until a project had been satisfactorily completed. I made a request for a small price concession which was met with immediate opposition. Payment was demanded and as a Christian I decided not to argue and made immediate (the next day) payment in full of our negotiated price. I at that time asked Kim who is basically a liason / intermediary between the customer and Kyle to have Kyle come out and see for himself. I honestly thought Kyle would come by but he never did. So yes Im disappointed. Now that several months have transpired and in retrospect I would not have noticed the lack of preciseness unless my contractor who is very precise and highly honest had not pointed them out. So my position is no harm no foul. I still think Kyle to be honest, and one who negotiates in good faith; however hes not perfect but neither am I. God Bless Blue Mountain Flooring, Kyle. Kim and its employees. I wish and pray for you to prosper.
Kyle and his team put in carpet and flooring in my entire house. From the beginning, Kyle was slow to respond to emails and texts, and almost always showed up 30 minutes - 2 hours late to my house for scheduled jobs. Some days he had to cancel all together last minute, after I had already taken off work to be there. I had my house boxed up for weeks, as it took his team much longer than promised to do the job. Perhaps they were understaffed? It seemed like he struggled to get people to come get the job done on every occasion. After weeks and weeks of back and forth texts, false promises, ignored messages, and changed plans, they finally completed my floors. My bathroom flooring needed to have grout around the edges and they completely forgot to do it. I had to contact Kyle repeatedly for them to come back and finish the job.
The entire experience with Blue Mountain Flooring was positive and the flooring is beautiful. I was very impressed with the team of men who did all the hard work of removing the old hardwood flooring, installing the new flooring, and painting the shoe molding. We are so glad we decided to go with this local business.
We highly recommend Blue Mountain Flooring and would add a 6 star rating if possible. From our first interaction with Kim in the showroom, to Kyle coming to our home to measure and talk about the details, to the final installation with Aurilio and team, everything flowed perfectly. We previously owned two inns on Cape Cod with many flooring projects and honestly this installation was top notch. We were installing hardwood in three of our bedrooms and matching some existing flooring-the transition from old to new was meticulously installed and perfectly matched and I was especially impressed that they even filled the nail holes with white caulking on the trim and vacuumed and mopped the floor before leaving. The owner Kyle is very knowledgeable about flooring and cares about doing a good job. We even enjoyed meeting the young high school kid that he hired to help deliver the hardwood. Look forward to using Blue Mountain Flooring for future projects and highly recommend their services.
Blue Mountain Flooring exceeded my expectations. Kyle, came out to measure, and took the time to explain my insurance estimate info to me about things that didn’t even involve his business. His employees were top notch, very respectful of our home, and very detail oriented. I was so impressed with their services, I provided lunch for them daily. Otherwise, they would have worked straight through. The end product turned out amazing. I would highly recommend Blue Mountain Flooring!
We hired Kyle’s firm last summer upon the recommendation of an interior decorator. We were impressed. He could talk the talk.Ours was a large job that entailed removing all of the floors on the first level of our home and installing new. It turned out he could also walk the walk as things went generally smoothly. However, things took a turn for the worse when it became apparent that some of his subs were not up to their assigned tasks – painters, trim carpenters, etc. He did not insist on payment up front or we wouldn’t have used him. However, if the work was done on day one he wanted payment on day two at the latest.Since his job involved replacing all floors he also had to arrange for furniture movers. When the job was done we discovered damaged furniture and the damages are significant enough that I’m seeking reimbursement. I called him one day last summer and asked him if he had insurance. “Sure.” He said. I sent him a description of damages and repair estimates. Since then I’ve been on his Do Not Call list.I’m about to move to the next level. This is step one of that move. I do not recommend him or his company. I know he’s a small businessman. If he had just called to ask how he could make things right I would feel different about him. Instead, he’s in hiding and I’m being forced to flush him out. That process is just beginning.
Blue Mountain Flooring was wonderful. We had all the floors done. The bedrooms were done in carpet, the rest of the house in wood. The selection is great. Kyle went through all of options, answering all of my questions as we went along. Both Joe and Rob followed the progress of the order from placement to the completion of the installation. They both took the time talk about any concerns I had. Follow up was done in a timely manner. The installers were all very professional. Each job took several days and at the end of each day my house was put back together to the best of their ability. I was not living in a construction site. I definitely recommend them.
I would like to express how pleased I am with Blue Mountain Flooring. After I had a water leak that damaged flooring in my home, Blue Mountains Raleigh sales representative came out twice with different flooring samples for me to consider. Flooring can be a huge investment, and I continued to do my own research. Once I settled on a hickory solid hardwood floor that I liked, I reach out to Blue Mountains owner to get his thoughts on the manufacturers reputation. I felt Blue Mountain was honest and straightforward in their comments. More importantly, I felt they would stand behind the product if I encountered any difficulties at all. After the installation I was blown way. Not only was the floor beautiful, but the installers did a magnificent job with every detail from matching the new floor to the existing hardwoods to meticulous cutouts for pipes and wiring. Blue Mountain exceeded my every expectation, and for that they have my highest recommendation.
We had Blue Mountain Flooring rip out our old carpet and bring in wood floors to match our existing wood flooring. You really cant tell which are new and which are old. Im very happy with the service. The workers that installed the floors and the stair railing were very kind and did a superb job. We love using local small business when we can and this is a great option for our surrounding areas.
We just had new flooring installed thruout our whole house and are extremely pleased! They did a great job and are a bunch of really great guys. Thanks Chris and the team!
We were very pleased with the work done by Blue Mountain Flooring! Kyle and Toby and all of the staff were so friendly and professional from start to finish. Their excellent crew completed the job- flooring installation in 3 rooms- in a very timely and expert fashion. We love our new floors and highly recommend this company!
Great place and wonderful staff especially Kimmie would recommend
Blue Mountain Flooring did an amazing job on installing hardwood floors in two bedrooms and two closets . Kyle helped in matching wood and was very helpful. . The installers got all the work done in one day and cleaned up. I highly recommend them for flooring . My experience in dealing with them was outstanding.
Crew was very competent and the floor is beautiful. The guys had to remove an existing kitchen floor and they did so in just a little while. Cleaned up after the job and, except for a beautiful new antique marble vinyl floor, its like they were never here. Great job and I couldnt be more pleased.
We cant say enough good things about Blue Mountain Flooring. Since we were first time wood floor buyers they helped us every step of the way in determining what floor would be the best for us. They were very patient when we went from a certain kind of floor and guided us to what we bought and we couldnt be happier. The installation was great, they paid attention to the slightest detail. The crew were polite and they did an amazing job.Cant say anything that is not a positive review.I would give 10 stars if I could.Good job Kyle, Joe, Rob and Toby. And of course the crew. I will send everyone your way. If we do any more flooring you are my choice.Carol and KenHendersonville NC
Kyle Patterson is not only professional but also a very nice person. The whole team did a very good job on the many different areas of the project.I would highly recommend Blue Mountain Flooring and in fact intend to use them again. We are very pleased.
We used Blue Mountain Flooring three years ago to install laminate flooring in our master bathroom and again just a couple years ago to install carpet in our office. We were beyond pleased. The flooring options were affordable yet good quality. The installers were respectful and timely. We wholeheartedly recommend Blue Mountain Flooring.
My husband, & I used Blue Mountain Flooring, and we were extremely happy with them. Our decorator highly recommended them to us, and Im so glad that she did. Kyle Patterson & his staff were a delight to work with and the craftsmanship was excellent! Our floors look amazing, and we have gotten so many compliments on them. We would highly recommend Blue Mountain Flooring to anyone looking to have new floors installed in their home.
I was in panic mode trying to get my house finished up. I called Kyle and he was very understanding and pleasant to speak with. They were able to come out the very next day and finish up my flooring protect for me! The floor is beautiful and the crew was awesome and professional! Thank you guys!!
I would encourage you to consider Blue Mountain Flooring for your flooring needs. Mr. Patterson is always professional and prompt to answer any questions that I have had. I have not had flooring installed by them, but I did have him come out and look at the job I was considering doing and was pleased with his professionalism. The subfloor in my home has created issues that I was not expecting and have had to rethink what I want to do in my home based upon a contractors recommendation. This was not anything that any flooring company would have control of. I think you will be pleased with his company and encourage you to consider them.
My personal experience with Kyle and Blue Mountain Flooring was amazing! He brought all the samples to me and perfectly matched my basement floor to my bar! I highly recommend this company. The work was perfectly done and I am so happy with the whole experience!
Kyle was very professional in helping choose flooring to replace carpeting in a condo. He was always on time and responsive to all of our questions. The workers did a great job installing the flooring, moving furniture and cleaning up once the job was complete. Would use Kyles company again for flooring needs.
At the very last minute on a Friday afternoon, we needed to change our flooring plans because our original order from another store wasnt going to arrive on time - in fact, we were told that it was in production and they didnt know when it would be ready. I was told by a neighboring business that Blue Mountain was new in the area, so I went to check it out to see if they might have something like I was hoping to get. They let me take their floor samples home to see what I liked in our room - in fact, Im pretty sure they didnt have anything left in their showroom to show anyone else if they happened to come in looking for the same thing, but it really helped to see the floor samples in the evening light and the morning light before making our final decision. We did find something in the same price range wed picked originally at the other store, and were told that there was a good chance wed have it on Monday or Tuesday - very fast service! It actually didnt arrive until Thursday, but that was still within a week of placing the order. I like how it looks installed, and as soon as we are allowed to move into the room, it will be nice to see how it is to actually use it.
Our experience with Kyle and his company almost defies description. Not even sure where to begin, so here goes (this will be a condensed version).Suffice to say a one star rating isn’t low enough. A relatively simple / small / uncomplicated job (we were told one week at the most) turned into eight weeks of incompetence, falsehoods, and ZERO communication with the company’s owner, Kyle.Due to using a “licensed plumber between jobs” a decent size water leak was discovered as a result of not tightening the supply line to the toilet. Emergency call to a REAL plumber (shout out to John Myers) who came to our rescue. Note: this leak went unnoticed for at least two weeks as we had not yet moved into the house). Bathroom sub floor saturated, new laminate had to be removed and replaced. Oh, and we had to buy a fan to try and dry things out. Also, upon move in, we were taken aback by a MASSIVE squeaking in one area of the kitchen floor that had been replaced. Impossible not to notice, and unfathomable as to how a competent installer could have let it go. Chasing Kyle down to correct this was like playing Wack a Mole. Voicemail: Full. Texts: Ignored. Finally, his project manager Rob stepped up to remedy things. Tough gig working for Kyle. All in all, our experience with Kyle and Blue Mountain flooring was a complete comedy of errors. He can sell, but he can’t deliver. Caveat emptor…
Smaller flooring jobs are more difficult to contract but we had no problem with Blue Mountain Flooring. They came right out, estimated the work to be done and booked it immediately. Their installers were expert in their work and we are very happy with the results! Bonus! The price was right!Bruce & Jan Barnhart
Thanks so much for helping me pick out the best flooring for my home! The installation was done in a timely manner and I am happy with the result!
I recently had hickory floors installed throughout my house. Kyle and all of his staff were extremely professional, did exactly what they said they would do and left my house cleaner and more beautiful than when they started with little inconvenience for me. I highly recommend Blue Mountain Flooring and Kyle Patterson.
Kyle Patterson at Blue MTN Flooring did both the wood floors and carpet in our home. Excellent work and service! I highly recommend him.
We bought carpet and pad for the bedroom and we are very satisfied with the quality of the carpetThe carpet padding we got from Kyle was really nice probably the best I have ever usedThe service was outstanding, my wife picked out the carpet on a Monday and by the following Monday it was installedVery pleased with the whole process and with Blue Mountain Flooring
Hardwood floors were installed in two rooms. The price was affordable and the service was skilled, professional and expeditious. The results are beautiful and I would highly recommend this company.
Long review short, I would not recommend BMF. I hired BMF for a very large project that included sanding & refinishing current hardwoods, installing new hardwoods, removing & installing kitchen floor, and installing carpet. Overall the floors look excellent, can’t complain there. However, while sanding & staining the hardwood floor our freshly painted walls & doors were damaged to the point of having to have them repainted. They even broke off a corner piece of molding. I was told all this would be fixed & it never was. Also, the wrong kitchen floor was installed. I told them I wanted it fixed to the floor I wanted. It took 4 days of going back and forth trying to compromise a price to just keep the floor they installed...they would only discount the incorrect flooring by 50%. BMF did finally order what I wanted & installed the correct flooring.
This was such an easy way to do our flooring. Kyle shipped us the samples in the price range that we wanted. We love the carpet that we got. He even arranged for the carpet installer.
After Mr. Patterson was contacted to install a new kitchen floor he was quick to bring samples for me to pick from. He gave me a date for the instillation and thought it would take 2 days to finish the job. After he came it only took him one day and the floor is beautiful. I would recommend Blue Mountain Flooring to anyone who is looking for a job well done.Bertie Toler (Callie Oldham is my granddaughter, I dont know why her name popped up for this review)
Kyle and his crew did an outstanding job installing a new floor in our home! The whole process was simple and the job was well done, right down to clean up!
We have used Blue Mountain Flooring on 3 projects and their work is outstanding. We highly recommend them for all your flooring needs.
Blue Mountain Flooring provided on time, professional service with great advice and as quoted pricing. The flooring product was installed as expected with no surprises.
