My wife and I recently purchased a Volvo XC40 from Patrick at Paramount Volvo in Hickory NC. It was an excellent car buying experience despite the significant inventory limitations across the industry.Our lease of a 2018 S90 was coming to an end and Patrick and Paramount gave us an excellent price on the 2021 XC40 to make another affordable lease payment.Up front, low pressure, friendly folks in sales, finance and in general, everyone we met at Paramount. It is definitely not your typical car buying experience! It’s enjoyable and we’d recommend them to anyone. They have Porsche and VW at this location as well.

They found what was wrong with it yet helped save me money at the same time. Scott even temporarily installed an axle bolt to help me get the vehicle back home.

Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the issues were resolved but less then stellar experience and took too long. This dealer is not very forth coming with information either and we had to keep up on them. Our car buying experience lasted way longer than it should have 11/21/2020-1/16/2021. This was due to the following reasons:-We told the dealer we wanted to test drive the CPO XC60 and we are 1.5hrs away yet they didn’t tell us the car needed to be painted until we got there. We couldn’t buy the car that day because it was being sent to get painted.-While test driving the car we noticed that the tires were very noisy and the brakes pulsated very bad. We brought this to the sales associates attention and were told, well it has new tires and brakes so theres nothing we can do about it, the car has been sitting since July(we test drove it in November). My husband is an automotive technician so he went about fixing the brakes as they were in clear need of repair, upon doing so he found that the tires were not new like we were told by the dealership (Service RO included) and CARFAX stated. The tires had 4/32 of remaining tread and were severely chopped on the inside edge which is were the noise was coming from. Upon bringing this to the dealerships attention we were passed back and forth between sales and service with little help, finally the service manager became involved and was quick to resolve the issue by getting 4 new tires on order for our car. Finally resolved.-A week prior to a signing the papers they informed us the CPO had 1 key when in order to sell it as a CPO it should have 2. It took several weeks and several follow up phone calls to finally get the key, they forgot to order and then ordered the wrong type of key. This should have been taken care of along with the paint prior to selling.-They also tried to sell us the car for 1k more than what we agreed on when we put a down deposit in November. During that time before we signed the dotted line in December I saw it was lower so I sent a screenshot and they agreed they would give it to us for that price which was lower than what it was previously. When went to sign in December they were like no that’s the price (1k more) unless you have screenshot to prove it was less. Thank goodness I sent them this in the email prior and we had record of the conversation or we would have been screwed into paying an extra 1k.After one final trip (3 trips total) to the dealership to get our new tires and the other key we finally have a car worthy of being a CPO, the dealership made it right in the end but only because we continued to stay on top of them about our issues.I feel that if we did not have the knowledge of the automotive industry the dealership would have taken advantage of us and we would have been stuck with CPO needed several hundred dollars worth of repairs not covered by warranty.Not to mention they had a VW Specialist sell a CPO Volvo. They had no knowledge of how to obtain the free subscription to XM radio and Volvo on Call that came with the car. Not the VW Specialist fault at all since he is more versed in CPO for VW. He had to reach out to one of their Volvo sales person and since we were not the Volvo sales person client they didn’t really care and were not helpful. We had to call Volvo ourself and for it squared away.This is our 4th Volvo, we would not have been pleased with this brand if this was our first experience.
Highly recommend Andrea - she is so easy to work with, is not pushy but is very well-informed, and pays attention to what matters to you in a car. After many years with a different brand and as a driver who drives quite a lot of miles, I am happy to have Paramount and my new Volvo.

He worked with me for several days over the phone to help me feel comfortable to make a purchase. He responded quickly and thoroughly. He even took the time to pick me up from the local airport when I came into town. Ultimately, with not fault of his, I didnt end up making a purchase. However, the level of care, concern, and integrity that was displayed even after I had decided against the vehicle was of the highest standard. Ernie and his general manager Rudi went above and beyond to help me with my situation. Because of this display of professionalism I had to share this review as well as always giving this dealership the first consideration before making a vehicle purchase. Highly recommend them!
We just got our second lease form Paramount Auto of Volvo! We drove an hour to this location because of our past experience. They did not disappoint on our second return. Never fathomed buying a car without ever visiting the lot, but Art made it possible! We knew what we wanted and he searched diligently to find what we were looking for. Though our first choice wasnt available anywhere on the east coast, he helped us make a decision all the same that we couldnt be happier with. We stopped in at Paramount not really to buy a car, but to just look and see what they had on the lot because we were close to buy a new Toyota 4Runner. We spotted a car that we liked and was the color and the equipment on it that we liked on a vehicle. Then Art showed up and did an outstanding job of showing us the car and all its features. He did a great job of making us welcome and insisted that we take the car out for a second test drive. We came back loving the car even more; and wanted to see what we could work out on the financing and see if we liked the deal. Sure enough, they worked hard to make it happen and we left that evening with a brand new Volvo XC60. We are so happy with it and all the staff that we met at Paramount Volvo. Looking forward to a long relationship with this dealership.

Overall decent car buying experience in March 2019. The vehicle I purchased only had one key with it. The salesman told me the second key was at the office across town, and that he’d mail the key to me the following week. Several months and emails later, the salesman said he’d order a new key and send it to me. Now nine months since purchase, and still no key.
Mr. Todd Hardin of the Paramount Porsche Volvo VW has done a phenomenal job in helping us buy a car. Buying a car is not an easy task, requiring a lot of research and negotiations. We had our number set, and Mr. Hardin tried his best to meet our need. From the first conversation on the phone to the delivery of the car, the whole process of buying a car at Paramount was very effective and great!
Firstly, Butch Walters is a gem. He was very personable in his communications without any of the glib affect commonly associated with auto sales. I felt listened to, accommodated and not pressured in the least. I work in Charlotte and there were certainly closer dealerships, but there was something about the preliminary sales conversation with Chuck that made me feel genuinely at ease. Prior to driving to Hickory, Butch photocopied the sales sticker for me and emailed it so I could understand exactly how the car was equipped and he worked with me to make sure that car was held and still available to me when I arrived (no bait/switch). Thank you!Secondly, the dealership helped me by transporting my own car back to Charlotte while I drove my own car home. This simplified the transaction considerably and made it an easy decision for me to leave work and drive to Hickory without having to negotiate schedules and childcare with my wife to get the transaction done. This makes a world of difference for working couples with kids. I arrived at about 6:00 on a Friday night, but despite the late hour, everyone took their time with me. I would have signed for the car immediately, but Butch took his time with me, took me on a test drive, answered all my questions and made sure I was completely satisfied with the car first.Thirdly, the financing deal on the car was outstanding. I was prepared to pay in full up front but you offered a financing deal I could not refuse. The conversation about gap coverage was enlightening and the up-sell on coverages and warranties was ultimately respectful of what I wanted and needed. Professionally and courteously done.
No Pressure sales. That is what youll get when you buy a car here. Everyone I worked with was informative and patient. I worked with Ronnie and Parker in purchasing a new volvo. Parker has gone above and beyond. I will be buying another vehicle from this dealership. I had zero issues with financing. My credit was only ran once. No going back and forth regarding pricing with managers. Never met a sales manager. This is not your typical car sales. Overall Quick and Painless. I would rate this dealership 5 stars across the board.

For almost a year I’ve been looking at the Volvo XC40 and secretly dreaming of owning one. During an online search I found a barely used R Design and fell in love. This was an easy buying experience. They also had the vehicle, with the options we wanted, in stock. This is our third Volvo that we have purchased from Paramount.The salesman, Parker Grove, did an outstanding job of explaining the new technology to us. This is the second time that Parker has sold us a car. I have been searching for months for the perfect vehicle for me. I stumbled upon a Jeep Wrangler which was beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. I contacted the dealership and got Butch as a salesperson on accident. And I am so glad I did! His customer service was wonderful, explained the details on the vehicle, showed me all the things included with the vehicle, and went out of his way to hold it for me, knowing I was driving an hour and a half from out of state to view it. They allowed me to sign all the paperwork the night before so I could pick it up the next day. I worked with Colton as well, he helped me finance the vehicle with a wonderful interest rate, and did it very last minute for me. He had a very friendly attitude as well, and was always willing to work with me. I will, and already have, recommended this dealership and the wonderful smiling faces to everyone I know. I get multiple compliments daily on my new vehicle and I tell them exactly where to go to find them one as well. They have made a lifetime customer.

The service is always top notch and priced competitively for a luxury brand. We love getting our Volvo S60 and XC60 back clean and running great! I had both of them serviced on the same day the last time. This meant my wife and our 14 month old came a little later to drop off her car in hopes mine would be ready. Mine wasnt quite ready so we had to wait as a family. This could have been a tricky situation, but it couldnt have gone better. The waiting area is clean and accomodating. There is even a nice area for the little ones. My baby girl played with the toys and said hey to everyone coming and going. Shes a talker! We took a stroll through the showroom and let her walk around. Everyone there is so nice and was very sweet to her. We appreciated that and couldnt be happier with our cars. I believe we have a future Volvo enthusiast on our hands. She will have to talk to Parker about a purchase one day and Sara about service. Thank you Paramount Volvo! The Smith family will be back!

We were traveling through Hickory on a long car trip when our Volvo blew an ignition coil late on a Saturday afternoon. We found Paramount on the internet and called them, catching them just before the service department closed. They said to come on in, and we limped the car to the shop. They stayed late in order to get us fixed up and back on the road, saving us from being stranded hundreds of miles from home on a holiday weekend. They even made our two dogs at home while we waited. Paramount is staffed with some wonderful people who clearly care about their customers! And while we waited, we browsed their car inventory too - they have an incredible selection of very nice cars, from affordable to high-end performance and luxury. I highly recommend Paramount - very nice place and very nice people.
I was impressed with Parker, the sales associate, with being informative but not pushy as to overwhelm me. I am the type to walk away if I feel that way. Then once I made my decision, there was very little haggle and I know I got a great deal on a quality vehicle. I had a great experience at Paramount Volvo/Volkswagen/Porsche of Hickory. My sales person, Josh, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all the vehicles, but I finally settled on an economical 2015 Jetta. Josh went over and above to help me me feel comfortable with the purchase, yet with no high pressure or double talk. In fact, I felt that is was easy to work with everyone at the dealership. This is my first Volkswagen and purchase from Paramount, and I am very happy with both!

I wanted to use the dealer for my used Volvo because I needed a quick resolution to the problem my vehicle was having. I dont love how much more money youre expected to pay with a dealer. The waiting area is nice with a TV and snacks provided.
A decent-sized car dealership with friendly staff. My issues are with the mechanics that work on the vehicles, specifically VW vehicles. You can bring in your own parts and they will put them in for you (pay labor), but they do say we cannot warranty the work which is fine since all of my warranties are done. They have a few seasoned guys, but if you get stuck with a newer person be prepared for stuff to be done wrong or not to the highest quality.tl;dr: The newer mechanics need better training and/or need better attention to detail.Case and Point, they rotated only the passenger side tires (I only noticed it because one of my wheels is missing the VW logo in the center) and got oil on my left headlight and wiper blade. The time before that, they tried to put on some directional (i.e. slotted and drilled) brake rotors on wrong (i.e. left rotor on right side of car even though the rotor was marked which side to go on).

I am new to the Porsche brand and Porsche of Hickory did a nice job with the overall experience. First they had to really understand my requirements of selecting the right Porsche. After locating several 911s we realized that I was better off going for the Targa 4S given my timeline to enjoy the car and having a car that I can grow into. Bob Smith was great and he even picked me up at home when it came time for delivery. His Sales manager was very involved in getting me the right 911 in the right color with all the features that I desired. Now its time to enjoy the iconic Targa and take long ride from NC to NY.
This is the third car I get from them. Their service is outstanding and they really go out of their way to help you. This is a Porsche dealer without the attitude that they are doing you a favor for selling you one.
I traded in three vehicles and then purchased a 2019 Volvo XC 90 T6 Inscription on 12-31-2018. The process was surprisingly pleasant and hassle free which was unlike many other buying experiences I have had in the past. I dealt with my salesman Joey Lipford throughout the deal. He was a no pressure salesman. I am new to the Volvo Brand, having previously owned Mercedes, Range Rover, and Cadillacs. Joey made sure all of my questions were answered and he was extremely detail oriented. I learned he is a top ranked salesman in the Country for his car brands. I can certainly understand why. I got the impression that I was being treated like family. I will certainly seek him out when doing business with Paramount again.

They honored my trade-in estimate without even seeing the car, gave me a great deal and I was driving home in a new car in about an hour. I have been bringing my older Volvo here for several years for services, and the service representative that deals with me is named Valerie. I can trust that she will always be honest about my car and she hasnt been wrong yet. This weekend my car (more or less) laid down. I didnt have an appointment, but she didnt turn me away. Once again, she was right. So, I decided that maybe it was time to let it go. She placed me with salesperson, Melissa Wilson. I had one of the best car buying experiences to date. As of yesterday, I purchased a second Volvo, the first from Paramount Auto. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new car! I received a really good deal and it was very professional. No hassles, no problems. Melissa really hooked me up, so to speak. I would definitely recommend that whoever reads this, to come here to purchase a car. I want to give a shout out to Caleb, also. Mark is the man! Never purchase a car online before, but he made me feel comfortable. He walk me through the car with every detail from tiny scratches to how much thread on the tires... Its almost felt like i was test driving it... I found the car Saturday and after talking to Mark the deal was done by Monday... Great experience, started with speaking with ashley on the phone about the volvo i was interested in. she sent me a credit app to fill out, i had trouble getting the app to work for me, when i got to the dealer she came to me and apologized for the app not working, (which was probably more my computer fault) very polite and helpful while at the dealer. salesmen butch was very knowledgeable about the car and was genuinely honest and caring. colton very likable young man also very knowledge about the finance part of the process. in all i was very impressed with paramount volvo. this purchase is my second volvo which paramount does most of the service on it. so needless to say i feel very comfortable with paramount volvo for all my vehicle needs. thanks paramount volvo.

This review is specifically about the service writer Valerie Rorie. I was very impressed with how she handled my call-in to schedule service. I originally called and left a message with her. She promptly called me back and helped me with a list of several items I needed addressed on my Volvo. I could hear her smiling as she patiently allowed my to give her long descriptions of what needed to be done. At one point we were accidently disconnected. Within just a few seconds the phone rang back and she apologized for the disconnect and continued to help me finish scheduling. I hope that her excellent customer service is backed up by the technical service that I am hoping to receive from the diagnostic technicians.
I was sold on the Jetta TDI from the beginning, its a fantastic car, so it all came down to which dealer would offer the best price/service. For that I searched at four other VW dealers and Paramount was where I purchased my car.Alan Cook was the salesperson that made everything happen for me. And Ill be frank, car salespeople dont exactly have a sterling reputation for being straightforward. Alan was the exact opposite. He was disarmingly direct, honest, and truly had my interest in mind. He also handled all the paperwork hassles and even delivered my new car to my doorstep. These guys are awesome.
Not so much. purchased 09 volvo xc90 and a few days later saw tons of brake dust on the wheels. Because it was under a 30day warranty I requested to have brakes fixed because they then began to squeak as well. Needless to say after I took my vehicle back to the service department for the 3rd time; I was told the brakes were at 75% and fine. I took the vehicle to another mechanic who advised me brakes were not good. Now Paramount is calling me to come and sign more paperwork regarding an error they made on my trade and have yet to own up to the fixing the problem. I spoke with Derrick the Manager who is now involved. Hoping to finally get the issued resolved now 2 months later.
Colton and his team at Paramount Auto made the process of leasing a new VW Jetta quick and easy. I initially came in just to get information and to test drive as I was planning on finalizing my lease in Texas when I move there later this month. Colton was able to coordinate getting my car sent to me in Texas and I was able to drive it in the meantime. All around great experience and I am incredibly pleased with my new car!
