Hands down, best ice cream on Hilton Head Island! I got two scoops in a waffle cone and wow, it didnt disappoint. I highly recommend the seasonal pumpkin and the salted caramel--a winning combo! This ice cream was super flavorful and a great creamy consistency--thick but not a chewy texture (like Frozen Moo). Only one staff member when they opened at 2 and she already had a line of 10+ people, yet was still friendly, didnt make people feel rushed, and gave great service. Prices are consistent with other ice cream places on HHI. Would definitely visit here again!

Ice cream was great. My only thing is that staff stick to your bowls. If someone orders a medium cup, make sure staff grabs that cup. This will help with checking out so the person checking out is not have to guess if someone got a medium, but was put in large cup. Really😑. Just stick to your cups sizes. Do not say oh I did it to accommodate whip cream, it sits on top it does not take up that much room. But other than that the ice cream is great. Staff was good, but still think that should all stick to the cup sizes you have set only.

This place opened in 1982. I first visited as a kid in 1984. In 2021 its better than I remembered! The line will be long and there are cheaper options for ice cream on the island, but this is seriously good ice cream! Worth the wait. Worth the price!Keep doing what youre doing guys!

Worth every minute! This is by far some of the best ice cream I’ve had. Creamy and just right, not overly sweet yet plenty of flavor. It is just amazing. Went back a second night and stood in line again because it is worth any wait. Very courteous staff too! I had Praline which was out of this world delicious. And be advised, a Small is two generous scoops.

Delicious ice cream joint in Hilton Head - a must try if you’re in the area. The line is usually long but moves quick. Cookie Monster is a fan favorite but ⚠️ WARNING! ⚠️ it stains your mouth/face blue. So, don’t plan on going anywhere fancy afterwards :) Nice portions and wide variety. Go, you won’t be disappointed!

We always come back here on every trip to Hilton Head Island. Last night, they had a computer failure which prevented them from checking anyone out. Instead of turning everyone in line away, they gave everyone free icecream! Will definitely be back to support them. Great staff and excellent icecream. I highly recommend their new season Halloween flavor.

Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had. It’s homemade on the island, and it tastes so fresh. They have great flavors; their cookies and cream is my favorite. The staff is extremely friendly. They let you try as many flavors as you want. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. You can also get free sprinkles. When my family was in Hilton Head, we went here almost every night. The line gets extremely long around 8-10, so go earlier if you can. But it’s worth the wait.

Honestly best icecream on the island. Tough to beat. The line may scare you, but there’s definitely a good reason that there may be a line here. My personal fav is toasted coconut.

When it comes to ice cream Im a traditionalist. Rich and creamy, spare the calories. Well Hilton Head Ice Cream will satisfy your whim. I always do the waffle cone with two scoops. Oreo, Butter Pecan, Peach Pecan, Cookies and Cream. Always a combo of light over dark in the cone and Im in heaven.

What a fantastic surprise this place is! Every flavor we try is packed with the key ingredients of its name. The portions are generous. The staff is so entertaining. Simply, go get ice cream here.

Our neighbors recommended this ice cream shop for our 1st visit to Hilton Head Island. I liked it, my spouse did not. All the ingredients are fresh, there are interesting flavors like key lime pie, and a fun LEGO display to explore visually. The ice cream is made a binding agent (corn syrup?) that gives it a texture more like gelato. This is completely understandable given the summer temperatures on the island - ice cream can melt in a minute. But if you dont like gelato, you probably will not like this ice cream. Again, the quality overall is excellent.

Flavors are great! Service is great but it seems like they serve ice cream below proper temperature or their coolers are not sufficient enough to keep up with all the opening and closing of them as they scoop the ice cream. It was incredibly soft and all my familys ice cream practically ran down through our arms before we could even exit the store.

Went to Hilton Head Ice Cream twice. The first time we made a mistake and got the medium. It was 3 MASSIVE scoops. Hard to eat with it melting everywhere. Ice cream is homemade and super good! The staff is incredibly friendly. Liked that they would let you get different types within one bowl if you got a small or a medium. Would recommend to others! Loved it!

Cool homemade Ice Cream shop! No indoor seating due to COVID-19, but standing room options around the parking lot area. I loved the huge fish tank on display for your visual pleasure while you wait in line. Butter Pecan is always a classic favorite of mine and they DID NOT disappoint!! If I would have known how huge the medium cup was, I would have only gotten a Waffle Cone!!

THE BEST ICE CREAM YOU WILL EVER EAT. Get the Reeses, or the Oreo, you will thank me. We are visiting from Iowa and are coming every night for a week straight... it’s that good!

There were so many flavors to choose from and everyone loved what they ordered. The small is huge, though -- you might want to opt for the baby size if you arent starving!

Made it just before closing and so glad we did. Seriously great ice cream. The small is MASSIVE. Be sure to check the flavors in the freezers, not just whats on the wall. They have a lot more than whats listed.

I got mint chip, wife got turtle. Neither was particularly noteworthy. Ok, but I preferred a different ice cream.The chocolate in the mint chip was pretty large chunks of what seemed like not the best chocolate, and I generally prefer smaller chips, so this is largely down to personal preference. If you like big chunks of chocolate, this might be the mint chip for you.

This is a great local ice cream shop. They have a lot of flavor options including the usual and some more unique flavor combinations. They give a large portion for the size! It is a little pricey, but again you get a lot of ice cream! In the pictures here, these are an adult small which has two scoops of ice cream.The staff members were very friendly and patient.There is outdoor and indoor seating.The ice cream is yummy, with a fluffed or whipped texture. That was new and different for us, but we still enjoyed it!

We arrived there at 930pm and it was a long line waiting outside, according to the locals the ice cream is all made there, I think the ice cream was good, it was my fiance, her little grand daughter and I, we have a small ice cream, each one flavor, the grand daughter had and ice cream cone and the total was $20, I havent had ice cream out in a while but I thought it was a little pricey but then again, is Hilton head. They have a good variety of flavors and tables outside to sit. I think they stay open untill 10 pm, but it must be a very popular place because it was a good line of people when we got there.

Best ice cream on HHI. Oreo remains my favorite flavor, with Banana Pudding as a close second. Mango sorbet is fresh and tasty. Cappuccino was amazing. But salted caramel was a little underwhelming. Lemon custard is a favorite of my kid.

Great ice cream but waited in line for 30 min to have the young worker roll their eyes at me and say to make it quick when I asked if they allow samplings. Ruined my experience for overpriced ice cream. Very uncomfortable and crowded.

Unbelievably large portions! We thought we wanted a medium cone, and after the first scoop we asked him to stop! LoL. A small is PLENTY! And the flavors are great, I got the mint chip, and the chips are hunks of chocolate. Best prices so far on the island for ice cream, and the staff is very patient, friendly, and fast paced. The place was packed, but the line moved along very quickly. May go back just to try the Chocolate Cayenne!

Really really good ice cream! I got mint oreo and chocolate peanut butter and both were incredible. Service was good, could have been slightly more organized but thats being really nit picky. The shop is very clean and had a very friendly and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Extremely packed (I get the understaffing issue) but there were 3 of them. Expensive and not very good. The group of us were mortified at one of the workers who was loud and rude and just screaming out at the crowd in an EXTREMELY obnoxious voice. If I had been alone I would have left but with children you just cant do that. Do better Hilton Head Ice Cream

Im sure the ice cream is as good as everyone stated and reviewed. I mean theres always a line out the door... But COVID or no COVID... People should never be working in an ice cream shop serving ice cream with no gloves on. The workers can easily (and probably do) touch the ice cream as they scoop it out. I wanted to experience the ice cream but I just couldnt after seeing that. =[

This was a beyond disappointing experience.We were on a family vacation, with 5 children, and were very excited to visit this ice cream shop. When we arrived the line was out the door. We reviewed the flavors on the board, but noticed that there were different flavors in the case. As we got up to the front, we were yelled at twice by the young staff members to keep moving, showing zero patience to customers. It was difficult to even see all the flavors and decide with 5 small children. The way the staff talks to its customers is inexcusable. When I asked to talk to a manager, the girl at the checkout counter seemed very confused and handed me the owners card. I sent an email to the owner to let them know about our experience and to inform them of what happens at their store when they are not there. I received no apologies or response back from the owner. I’m originally from a tourist town, so I understand how stressful tourist season can be. Even with that being said, the behavior of staff was uncalled for. I would never recommend taking a family to this store.

The young man who waited on me had an attitude. The young man who cashed me out was helpful, engaging and pleasant. The flavors I thought were just okay. I did appreciate their variety though. I had praline and my wife had mint oreo. It was awfully busy though.

The ice cream is fabulous but the place is tight inside! The place gets packed with families and people so it can get a little tight ordering but the ice cream is always tasty and the portions are generous. The ice cream with the chocolate chips are the best because the chips are huge and so fun to eat! The watermelon chip and the peanut butter chip are some of my favorites. They have a small label on the door that says, Please keep closed but they need to make it bigger. People are constantly holding the door open thinking it will help them get to the front faster.I wish they would open another place to help aid in it not being so crowded.

My family was staying close to Coligny Plaza and decided to go out for ice cream one evening. We were able to bike ride to Hilton Head Ice Cream in about 10 minutes. They have a wide flavor selection and their prices are very good. Their serving sizes here are massive! So if youre looking for just a scoop, get a small!

Excellent ice cream. If you order a flavor with nuts or fruit it will be loaded. They dont spare the goodness.

Ice cream was good. The portions are huge! The ladies working were nice. However, one employee upset my mom. She ordered 2 ice creams and once they partially finished her first order ( they had a hard time scooping the ice cream and gave up while making her first bowl) they started helping someone else with a large order. Also, I ordered one thing and got another but after my familys experience, I just wanted to leave.

AWESOME place! My kids loved it and begged to go back! Also, the guys working there were so thoughtful and patient with my kids. My daughter chose the birthday cake flavor and wasnt happy with it after she got her serving. One of the guys overheard her mention that it didnt taste good, went and tasted it himself, then came over and offered to switch out her ice cream! So incredibly kind and thoughtful. My 3 yr old was obsessed with the cookie monster flavor! Will be one of our must-visits any time we come back to HHI!

Hard to go wrong with ice cream. My only complaint, which was shared by the people around us, was how quick the ice cream melted. I suggest a cup otherwise youll be licking your hands at a feverous pace.
