This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion.We went to the Great Wall on Tuesday, 10/5/21. we are regular customers and I was waiting for this whole Covid pandemic to be gone to write a review so that it would be more accurate.We do Like The Great Wall and we go there at least once a week.They do have almost EVERYTHING that an Asian supermarket should have, you just have to find it. They have so much stuff that not even the workers know where to find specific products. Every time it feels like a small adventure, every time we discover something new we did not see the time before. Especially while exploring the second floor of the store where they have tons of China and Pottery, Amazing! but Ill be more specific in the following description:THE PRODUCE DEPARTMENT: well stocked and with enough choice. Sometimes the quality of the products is just not as good, and sometimes they do not have much choice. they do not have ORGANIC produce. You will find a 70% of produce that is Asian style and a 30% of produce that is western style.THE MEAT DEPARTMENT: well stocked and with plenty of choice. Especially if you are looking for delicious marinated meat. Alot of pork meat, chicken, beef and other types of meat.THE SEAFOOD DEPARTMENT: They have live freshwater fish in large blue tanks, live mollusks and crustaceous in tanks and plastic crates and a wide range of fresh/frozen seafood. Some days they have plenty of choice and some days they just dont.THE SUSHI SECTION: They have a small Sushi section in one of the display refrigerators at the very end of the Seafood section.THE BEER and WINE SECTION: They have a section with Wine and beer, especially traditional Chinese beer. They have quite a few kinds of Sake.They also have a pretty good choice of spirits. Overall a good selection and fairly big choice, considering it is a an Asian market.THE BEVERAGES DEPARTMENT: They have a well stocked section, with many Asian style drinks and other beverages.THE HEALTH and BEAUTY SECTION: The store itself does not have much, you can find something, the basic, on the second floor and in their Pharmacy.PHARMACY: The store has a small pharmacy, but you have to know what you are looking for as they have no clue. They mostly sell traditional Chinese medicine products.THE BACKERY DEPARTMENT: NO western style bakery products. They have a section with Asian style bakery products, like milk bread or steamed bread...THE FROZEN PRODUCTS DEPARTMENT: well stocked and with a fairly good choice, especially Asian style products.THE KITCHEN SECTION: They have plenty of choice on the second floor! great selection and variety.THE FRONT END AND CASHIERS: most of the cashiers are Asian, they speak little or no English, they do not smile or welcome you, but they are kind and say thank you when you pay.THE CURBSIDE and DELIVERY SECTION: They do not have Curbside service and they do not offer delivery service.STAFF: mostly Latinos, they are kind and friendly, but often they do not know where products are. associates you see in the isles do not really interact much and wont understand you.CLEALINESS: clean and neat/tidy. sometimes the produce section and the second floor can be messy.PLACE: it is a two story building. they have plenty of parking outside and they have a good amount of small carts. They have 24/7 security inside (police officer). On the second floor you will find a wide choice of Pottery, Ceramic, China and Kitchenware. there is a section with products and items for sale, religion related items and electronic/electric items for your kitchen, like rice cookers and electric steamers. The second floor is alot of fun! me and my wife always climb up there to go check it out, see if they have new items/products and check the on sale section.LOCATION: Chinatown district, west-Houston.PRICES: lower prices for a general lower quality (compared to H-MART).CONCLUSION: We like going there... just go and explore, sure enough youll find something new to try.... if you are curious like I am.

As Chinese as it gets. You can find most popular mainland China brands there. The seafood wet market in the back has very fresh seafood. If youre from China or have lived on the mainland for a time and have found it hard to find items like live toad in American stores, then this place is for you. All the Chinese spices and sauces youll need can be found there.

Its not h-mart but its a cool small store offering a variety of Asian foods and fresh veggies. A large selection of leafy greens.

Well stocked store but needs a thorough cleaning. Strong fish smell, produce scraps on the floor. Dried out so have been there a long time. Carts dirty with dirty rags and paper. Produce bins have various produce mixed in together, some deteriorated. A/C so cold that it was painful. Only one register operating. Only shop there when close by and dont plan to drive to another store. Think twice. Wear a mask.

Smells funky but what asian market without fish smell..... Good selection of dry and frozen food tho. Variety of coconut milk ranging from canned to paper packaged.

Really like the super market and location. But parking is not that much friendly!

Certainly a place worth stopping over, the food is excellent and well prepared, the rates are convenient and it is regularly clean in here. Highly recommended.

Today, I came to the meat department with a very bad attitude. I asked a man with a red hat to help me get the meat and ignored me. As if you havent seen me. Last week, I asked to help cut a chicken four pieces. When I got home, it turned into three pieces. Then I complained to the manager, and the manager listened to me while walking, very rude. I confirm that the manager is an overseas Chinese in Vietnam. Can speak Chinese and then tell me that I cant speak Chinese. As a result, I complained in English.

They have a great selection of asian food products and ingredients. Its my new go-to spot for sure :)

Tons of Asian food options, fresh seafood, live seafood, live frogs, live eel, redfish head, salmon head, snails, and more!They have plenty of imported drinks, dried foods, canned and jarred sauces, even the regular American meat cuts, ribs, etc. American beer, Japanese beer, etc. but I didn’t see any Chinese beer. Plenty of wines to select from as well.It’s a very large, spacious grocery store and they have plenty of fresh produce to choose from too.

Good variety and low prices! Parking lot can get a bit full but its a busy plaza with lots of food and tea shops nearby.

Clean & well organized, live fishes, fresh meat, vegetables and various spicies from Asia can be found here. Nice!

So on the bright side, this Asian supermarket is generally cheap and has a large selection of snacks, fruit, seafood, and more. But otherwise, this place can be a little dirty like many Asian places. From checking yesterday, I’ve found that a large portion of their drinks are expired (often from half a year ago in 2018) but are still on the shelves with new stickers stating a new expiration date. Their popular snacks like Pocky are new, though.

The prices are very competitive,This is definitely a place Id go again.

Many things that I grew up with in China. They have frozen 包子, the red and gold canned tea, and green and red bean flavored ice cream. I wish they would’ve had corn ice cream as well, however that’s no big deal. And to people who comment on the smell, that’s part of the authentic experience. The smell brings me back to China. Someone who gripes about it is simply too Americanized.

This supermarket is pretty big and clean. Has a lot of items. But the set up is weird for me.

Please remind the driver who were driven Great Wall Van on 06/20/2021 around 1:15 p.m. in Dun Huang Plaza must pay attention when passing pedestrian. The driver needs to stop and let people walk instead of keep driving.

My wife and I started visiting here on last year for seafood. They have a great variety and always have what we like in stock, in addition to other foods, snacks, and skincare products we get.

Good store for lovers of asian grocery and fresh sea food. I like big vedgy, fruits option as well.

One of the best nut and dried fruit selections. One of the only places you can find sweet apricot kernels, my favorite.

Its like going to an Asian country! It is so well stocked and full of Asian delights. Great sea food selection too!

Hell of a market to be in. Whether you are in for crab, octopus, toad or fish or Asian beers or anything you need for stir fry. Oh! And dont forget to grab the delicious Japanese curry sauces and Instant noodles FROM JAPAN! :)

Everything was very clean, but my favorite part was upstairs! They had so much cute cutlery and super adorable drink ware! I was stoked and ended up leaving with an adorable wet wipes dispenser. Check out was super speedy and everyone was social distancing properly which was pretty cool to see!

This Asian supermarket is big and clean. They sell everything from dairy products to meat and seafood. If you love coffee, they sell all kinds.

Huge selection of vegetables, frozen foods, and Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese/Chinese snacks. They are also one of the only places in town I have managed to find goat meat at (its in the frozen meat section). I find that if I have some kind of unusual grocery item I need and I cant find it anywhere else, this place usually has it. My only problem is that sometimes the price tags arent in English, and the price tags can be hard to read with super tiny writing--so if English is the only language you know, shopping here can sometimes be a crapshoot.

Good asian goods & supplies shopping...

Good shopping reasonably priced. KING BAKERY is located in the same mall, but dont service correctly by taking a order over the phone and then not having your order and then asking you to wait another hour when they have some for another order not ready for pickup. Very bad service KING Bakery.

The mongolian beef and house special fry rice are delicious

Why do they follow you around the security guard should be by the front door and around the cashier area. Doesnt make it fun to shop for specifics and if you are looking around for other items. It just wasnt normal and it was not fun.

My first visit and the store is really nice, clean and organized. They carry a nice variety of items and even some I have not seen in other Asian markets.The price werent to much different then other places. My only problem as some one who cannot read any of the language, was the lack of translation for alot of items, but it is in the asain community after all. All in all I will visit this store again.

I dont go here very often but I never visit the center without making my way into this store! Its always crowded! Always lively and the selection of seafood is enormous!

I like this place v much. Bcz im a vegetarian and i love dumplings n finally i found the vegetarian n delicious dumpling here. & over here i found the dumpling sausage too. U can always find the fresh vegetables here with the beans sprouts. Really good place.

I and my sister bought a durian costs $30 last Saturday but found out dead worms inside and already bad. We brought back for refund and planed on buying another one. However, the staff said durian cannot be refunded. We asked for manager but was told manager was not working that day and no in charge that day at all. We keep telling them to look at the worn and verify the problem but they dont care at all. We were told to take some photo and come back to speak to manager the next day. We have been there twice already and who will like to come back again with the worm infected durian. The refund policy should be standard and no need to have manage to take care of it. We are beyond upset. They finally agree to provide store credit after 30 mins of arguing . What kind of customer services is that. I would like to speak with the owner.

Security guard followed me around the store while i was shopping with my family and the cashier popped my hand when i tried to input my information into the card reader after she insisted on doing it herself and couldnt read the number 2.

It was my first time going to this store.The day I went, they had a really good deal on raw shrimp.

Its a clean, well put together, and well organized store that has signs in english (if youre worried about it) they have a nice selection of tofu, ancient eggs, and more.Personally I like coming here for the bottles of ramune and other sodas that have aesthetically pleasing packages.

Great supermarket. Love the variety of foods, spices and treats. The prices seem more reasonable than products offered at Kroger and Randalls. Plus they have unique items you wont find anywhere else.I would usually eat at Alans deli then go walk around inside Great Wall. I have purchased a few candy items that have been great. Look forward to purchasing other items there.

I called the Great Wall Supermarket (I live in Hinesville, Georgia) The employees answered the phone in Chinese and I began speaking their native language with them. And apparently they could understand my terrible Mandarin. I cant wait to visit this Supermarket. Atlanta, Georgias China Town is microscopic compared to Houston, Texass. 👍👍👍👍👍
