Still fun and enjoyable to stop by everytime in Houston, a lot of varieties choices, prices up a little cause of economic and pandemic season
My Auntie loves this place. We drove 1 hour 30 minutes to get here. I got some fresh sugarcane water, so good.
The fresh food selection is good, but I have 1 complaint about the food court inside Hong Kong market where the roast pork, roast duck are for sale. I bought roast pork there and the guy working there took out all the skin (the best part). He was pretty mean too.
Horrible experience. The market inside smells like cat litter and ammonia. Me and my family had to leave because the smell was so strong.
There are so many ingredients you can find here that arent available at large chain grocery stores like walmart or target. If you need any sort of Asian culinary ingredient, you can likely find it here! There are dry and canned goods, fresh produce, fresh meats, a bakery section, kitchen cookware, utensils, and more. The place is quite large as well, at the center of the mall surrounded by smaller stores.
Reminds me of real Asia. The smell and scene is the same! Lots of cool turtles in the pond. Shops are very nice inside and out. Great place to come visit and shop.
Really really big supermarket market, with very reasonable price. I always have to visit this plaza and come here every time Im in town. They have a great little sandwich shop in the same building called Mr. Bubbles, Definitely go there to buy some sandwiches.
Really liked this place. Lots of grab and go type food places, plenty of dessert options, and a good selection of sit-down meal options too. The main grocery store in the mall is pretty large and has pretty much whatever Asian ingredients you may need, plus lots of other stuff.
This place I believed opened in 2000, but looks much older with its 90s pastel and white toned colour pallette. The pandemic forced the owners to clean the market and the mall dramatically. It was actually cleaned throughly for the firat time. The floors are not dingy and the foul smell of rotting garbage around the produce area is mostly gone. Restrooms in here and the mall are now resonably clean and lack the smell of stale urine that has plagued many a patron in the past. Much better enviroment right now.Now this is the largest asian grocery in the area with wide variety of produce, meat, seafood and goods that cant be found anywhere else. This may be intimidating, but if you have the time, you will find many a item that may be interest you.Quick of tibits about this placeThe asian vegtables sold here are typically locally grown some quite literally in peoples backyards. Just humble families earning extra money. No virtue signalling here. There is a abandoned expansion in the back, rumor is that the owner lost a signicant amount of money due to embezzlement by a familiy member amd had to put the the project on hold indefinitely.
Price wise its okay, does have a nice variety of items
Great family place. Practically can find anything here. Good prices. Love it!
If you need specialty groceries or want Fresh fish this is the place to go. From live fish, live crab and very large live lobsters to an excellent selection of local Catch. Great selection of Asian vegetable to all the seasonings. Since this is in the center of Chinatown you will also find some excellent dim sum, plan to stay for lunch.
There are many kinds of products from China 🇨🇳 and Taiwan 🇹🇼 and other Asian countries! Something what I appreciate is that they have good variety of vegetarian options!! I’m so happy to see this! That would definitely make vegetarians like me happy! If you became vegetarian and looking for meat alternative, come here and get your food of your choice! :)Enjoy and cheers!
One of the biggest Asian market in town. Large section of vegetable, meat, and seafood. Lots of business and food court inside.
Huge place and great stuff at great prices!! Loved the fish section, great number of varieties available. Clean and cut services available. You have to take the token their and wait for your turn. Prices are very reasonable and you will great quality and variety in different food items of oriental & other cuisines.
This is really a amazing place for shopping. They have many items of Asian food. This market is big and you need to have plenty of time for shopping. Usually we go there once in two months and do shopping for $200-$300 at once. Usually this market is famous for sea food. You can find variety of fish and other sea animals. One of the best thing of this market is they have many kind of Asian vegetable which are really cheaper then other market. One of the negative thing of this market is that the worker inside the sea food market were not friendly. Some of them don’t want to serve customers. Guy was using slang word on Spanish which listen too bad. They also need to manage the back part proper. All over, this market is the best place for your family shopping. It is located in the perfect location. For a moment, you feel like you are in China town. Enjoy your shopping 😊
Good! Grocery Store are big fresh Sea food never see at Seattle. A lot lot fruit, etc..... Love it
Love this place. Lots of unique food. Market inside is good. Worth visiting
Big Asian Shopping Mall. Vietnamese anchored, but all Asian Products available at Competitive Prices
They sell pandan, guava, sarikaya tree. Malaysian frozen durian $13/lb and monthong $4/lb. Very big supermarket inside HongKong City Mall
Came here to buy Ganoderma Lucidum. For groceries Jusgo Supermarket still have fresher vegetables and meat
Easy to get lost here. So much here. Come here when I am in the area, get a snack and pickup some hard to find stuff. Great selection of fish.
Great selection on food, plants, home goods, and more. Fair prices
Large Asian Market. Many supplies for all Asian cuisine. Some very nice pottery dishes made in Japan.
Great amount of variety in vegetables and fruits. Great choice in all varieties of asian goods.
Probably the best asian market available in the area. They are creative and looking always to bring nice options to the shelves. 4 only because fish doesn’t look good and not that many wild caught one
I enjoyed looking at the different and many kinds of produce and goods they have.Could be cleaner, thats why 2 stars off, saw some bugs come out about the time they chose..
Awesome varieties. Found a bunch of stuff. Wish they had more household type Asian goods.
Just like you shop in Sai gon. You can buy everything to cook Vietnamese foods.
Youll find almost...everything here, including things you dont want to find, are here too, in a good way of course.
Large selection of sea food. A new experience for me. Was happy to find gado gado!
The worst place to buy fresh foods like fish or other seafoods. The instructions to get ticket # are not clear. They have like 3 employees to serve nearly 80 customers per 30 mins so if you want to get the fish you want, make sure you show up at opened hours, and come back before closing hours to get them. Beside that, the fish department employees dont know English and super rude. Worst logistics and wont come back here
This store has a nice selection. You find live plants, ready to eat foods and house wears. Thier meat and seafood department has a wide selection and it is keep up really well 👍👍
A remarkably large and cheap supermarket for Asian (particularly Vietnamese).Ready made che, bbq meats, jackfruit and other good things.Lots of restaurants for food surrounding too.
Huge supermarket with wide variety of Asian (mainly Vietnamese and Chinese) goods and a Chinese pharmacy. This supermarket is more memorable than the other Asian supermarkets in Houston thanks to the availability of fresh flowers, accessories (e.g. Vietnamese hats), and a huge range of Chinese incense, joss-sticks and paper goods for the deceased
Lots of different bakeries and restaurants inside to grab something to eat or snack on. The grocery store has alot of products to choose from, produce is good, lots of variety. The only downside is the lines.. and they move slow..
Wide selection of food both as restaurants and grocery. Great looking fresh fish and meat departments. I definitely will shop here again.
Huge selection of Asian products. Lots of fresh produce, seafood and meats. Dont miss the frozen section either.
Good market for all the unique hard to find needs for the Asian kitchen & garden (plants to grow at home, from fruit bearing to ornamental). Some highlights:-Large fish market.-Large fruit and vegetable selection.-You Can buy bags of bones for making soup broth.-Large selection of Asian dishwear (from cheap plastic to very nice Japanese, and anywhere in between).Tip: be prepared to wait a long time at the fish/seafood section. They have a team of people working the fish with a larger crowding in demand, so you will take a number at the obscure hard to spot kiosk that is on a support beam next to the frozen section, and then wait a long time looking at the obscure LED sign on the back wall behind where the men work preparing the fish. Going as a team is recommended - one person taking a number to wait for fish, and the other person continuing the shopping. Also, I like to grab two numbers; much later on in my wait, when an elderly person walks up wishing for fish, I give them one of the numbers, so they wont have to stand and wait as long as the rest of us ;-) Bless someones day.Id give them a fifth star if 1) they had people anywhere on the floor of the store to actually help you; there are typically no employees in any identifying clothing to be found, so youre on your own to fend for yourself in the massive store, and 2) if they would keep the store cleaner. Those are my only two gripes.
Great place. Yummy boba tea. Friendly staffs
They do fresh seafood, a lot better than Walmart.
If your looking for anything Asian, youll find it here at Welfresh. They have an amazing selection from across the Pacific. Literally everything including tea, crackers, canned good, etc. Their produce is fresh. And the SEAFOOD!!! Oh my goodness Ive never seen such a selection of fish and seafood. Some fresh, some frozen. (Ps: they have live crabs )
Nice selection of vegetables and fruits, specially the Asian vegetable and fruits
They have it all. Love the plants
The market itself was okay was very quiet not a lot of business going on. Several of the businesses were closed I met a friend of mine there at pho hang 2 for lunch. The food was okay so thats why my rating is a 3
Always something new to try in the produce section. Exotic fruit trees & plants for our food forest.
Great atmosphere, a lot of store and Small businesses.
It was a very nice place and there is a boba place called juju at the entrance omg best boba ever
Great place to visit and shop.
What an Eclectic array of various stores and stuff. Next time youre in the Houston drop by and pick up something from your local food cart or shop in one of the many stories.
Asian goodie’s the best.
Very Asian super market. If youre looking for Asian ingredients this is the place to go. Its clean and not to crowded like some Krogers you go into.
Loved this place ever since i was young
I miss this market. Do not expect good customer service here, but I did not have a bad experience either. VietnameseFood is one of my favorites and here I can find anything that I need for my new recipes. I have not been here since the pandemic I read in another review that this market is more clean I will go back...
Pretty nice placw for a stroll and if you get tired or hungry there a various food options in then shopping area
Pro: great selection of Asian groceriesCon: not enough cashiers and they are super slow. Also, be careful! Shelves often stocked with expired goods.
This is one of my favorite places to shop, they have a great variety of merchandise that you cant find anywhere else.
I thought it was cheap to buy there but it is more expensive than in other places like Walmart etc ...
Very large selection of Asian food products. Totally an experience worth while!
It sounds good.
Wow... It is a true Asian market! Huge varieties of products, produce, fish and meat.
Its an incredible grocery store for the local community. I always find something unique and at reasonable prices. Good customer service and always clean. Great atmosphere.
Has most if not all of the staples in every food group youve come to use back home, and then some. Pepper the new concoctions in sweets and delicacies and for sure youll find what youre looking for to make your favorite meals. Clean and pleasant shopping experience - homey in some sense you can say.
My favorite Asian grocery store and mall like being there without $1000 tocket and 24 hours travel time
Yesterday, my parents bought a lot of groceries from this market. When they got home, my mother found out that the bags are missing some items (banana blossoms and long beans worth about $20). I told her its not worth it to go back there and try to find them. Usually when you forgot something from the cashier, they will chase you to give your items. Im not saying that it was the bagger for sure because someone can just quickly passed by your cart and take a bag after the bagger placed all your items in the cart and left that specific counter. Who knows? But beware, you must have your eyes at your items all the time. Unfortunately, my father wasnt there when this happened to watch over it. I wasnt there, too, because I went to pick something up while they are doing their grocery. Because they had several bags in their cart, they thought that everything is there and did not check them one by one. So be careful especially during this time when people are losing their jobs because of the pandemic. Not just in this place but in other places, too.
It had the food I needed as well as service.
Very big place with lots of diverse products. Unfortunately they didn’t have the number 1 asian drink I liked/craved for which was HoneyBee Coconut Drink.
Love this place. Every Asian spice, vegetable, herb and mushroom can be found here.
Plants and vegetables are fresh and prices are great. I love walking into this place and getting lost in the ocean of Asian products.
The place needs a clean up. Inside some of the food packages I saw bugs
Nice place to shop, also there are many eateries nearby as well
Cool place always enjoy going there lots of novelties and solo markets inside. Massage places to tea and coffee, snacks etc..... the super market is a fresh market has fresh as well as frozen fish. They have live blue crabs but they dont usually last long as people are waiting to scoop them up. Get there early for the crabs all others theres plenty to go around. Watch for scammers in the mall area wondering about. Theres always 1 or 2. DONT LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!!!!@
Its run by Vietnamese and its well provided and organized. As any Asian marketplace, it specializes in exotic food and stuff, typical for them (exotic for me)
