I went into Midas for a brake check and ended up almost losing my life because of it.I went in to Midas because my brake light came on...They took my front tire off to check these brakes. Then told me that I needed the following work done, I didn’t have the money at that time so I told them I’d be back. When I was leaving they told me that when I get in my car I should hear a clicking sound from my wheels and it is normal.Yesterday I was driving and my entire front tire came off while I was in traffic.I could’ve DIED if I didn’t think quickly.I received help and got a tow home.Now Midas isn’t taking responsibility for my near death experience when they were the ones who touched my tires last.My mom got on the phone with the manager and he told her that I had custom tires and custom spacers or whatever. None of this was said at my visit.The tire could only come off if the lugs weren’t screwed on correctly.He claimed one of the lugs were already messed up, WELL if that was true I’m pretty sure it would’ve been brought up in some type of taxable charge.I’m happy I didn’t die due to the negligence of Midas.
Very efficient, I had a small job I needed done in my car and the owner came out and took care of it quickly! I highly recommend this location!!
They dont give honest assessment. I went in for an oil and to have my battery checked because I had trouble starting my car. They did the oil change well, but they also told me that my battery needed to be replaced for $168 and my alternator as well for $639.I took my car to a local mechanic who told me that my alternator was fine and I only needed new battery. I changed the battery and now my car is running fine.Do not believe what this Midas says when it comes to costly, unnecessary repairs.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I WAS SPEAKING WITH A MAN NAMED ANDREW. I WAS A WOMAN IN DISTRESS WITH A FLAT TIRE ON MY WAY TO WORK AT 5AM. I CONVENIENTLY LEFT MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT OF THIS MIDAS SHOP AND THANKFULLY MADE IT TO WORK ON-TIME AS I GET OFF WHEN THEY CLOSE. I CALLED THE SHOP WHEN THEY OPENED AND ASKED FOR SERVICE AND THEY TIRED TO SELL ME THE MOST EXPENSIVE TIRES BECAUSE OF MY SITUATION. AND EVERY TIRE I ASKED FOR THAT WAS REASONABLE AND RELIABLE (also previously used before) HE SAID HE DID NOT HAVE IN-STOCK. AND COULDNT GET IT FOR ME. HE ALSO WANTED TO SELL ME A $150 TO $250 WHEEL FOR A NISSAN. HE WOULD NOT GIVE ME AN EXACT PRICE ON MY WHEEL UNTIL HE COULD LIFT MY CAR. BUT WHEN I CALLED DISCOUNT TIRE THEY GAVE ME AN EXACT PRICE. SO I HAD TO SEND SOMEONE TO PUT MY SPARE ON SO I COULD TAKE MY CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE. VERY INCONVENIENT!!! I WOULD NEVER USE THIS TIRE SHOP EVER. AND I HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE!!!!VERY VERY POOR SERVICE!!!!
Went to this Midas location twice within the same month, first for wheel alignment and then for tire balancing. Still had issues after the service including the steering wheel pulling more to the left. Had situation assessed at 3rd party and wheel alignment and tire balancing were still off significantly. When contacting Midas to see what could be done, they refused to issue a refund. I would not trust this place to have servicing done. Would recommend people look elsewhere.

I took my car here for an oil change and to check on a tire with low pressure. I was pleased when they told me that it was a small leak from a nail and instead of suggesting I replace the tire they patched it instead by default. Excellent customer service and definitely I will go back.

Slow, dishonest and they will use tricks to sell you full synthetic oil.I came here for oil change, one hour later received a call telling me that they can’t use conventional oil as we agreed and they want to charge me $50 extra for the synthetic oil. 2 hours passes and still haven’t got the my oil changed. They know time is precious for most people and they playing games!!!

Andrew is an amazing guy hes knowledgeable always had an answer to my thousands of questions. Hes great with being in detail showing me pictures and helping me learn more about my car. I always all of I can go back there and watch to learn most times Im able to and others I cant and I respect it.
First off I would love to say I have never been so please with service in my life! These guys went above and beyond to help me in my situation. My car wouldnt start at all so the manager and the mechanic was able to push my car in fairly quickly even with how busy they were. After about 20 minutes the manger Andrew gave me a full report on what was going on with my car. He explained everything in great detail and was able to show me proof of what the part was and how it failed.... which boosted my confidence in them even more. I have been driving the car for about a month now with no issues at all!! Great service and awesome staff! Definitely felt like I was treated fair and honest! I will be coming to the is location from now on. Yall have earned a customer for life!!
I can’t say enough about how great this shop is. I’ve never been upsold. They have always been very transparent and communicative and explained what is going on — very clear on “you NEED to do this” and “this doesn’t have to be fixed for safety / reliability but FYI this is going on”. The prices seem great. And So many times I’ve taken the car in and when I’ve picked it up they’ve said “oh, I noticed this was wrong so I fixed it” with no added charge: little things like inflating the tires, light body work etc. I’ve had everything for my last 2 cars done here and I send all my friends here without hesitation.
Had a very humbling experience with another location and I called this place and the owner literally told me to come and he would help me even though the work was done somewhere else. I could tell in his voice he loves what he does and takes pride in being a good man thanks bro like I said even if the money does not change I appreciate your support STAY AWAY FROM POST OAK LOCATION. Visited today, place looks bit shady but guys were helpful. They explain me all the services they have done for me and on top of that they added coolant fluid in my car for free. They estimate me with bulb replacement cost and advise me to do it by myself to save some bucks, with honesty.

Plugged a tire for me. Two days later tire was leaking where the plugged it.
I was visiting Houston over the past Friday and Saturday and my car got extremely loud and my check engine light came on. I needed this fixed right away and for a good price because I needed my vehicle to get back home. I stopped by Midas and I immediately got helped at my car. Told them what was going on with my car and it had to do with my exhaust. They had it fixed very fast and I can honestly say it runs better now then it did before and I will only be going to Midas from now on.
Im giving this low review for the simple fact that I was lied to. My car wouldnt start. I took it in and was charged a 95 dollar fee to do an alternator test (something autozone does for free) and they returned and told me I need a new battery AND a new alternator. I did need a new battery, and I got one, but I got my alternator tested somewhere else and it is fine. In fact its in great shape. They lied to try to get an easy $600. They were adamant in telling me I wouldnt make it home with the alternator I had. It has been a week and I have no problems.This wasnt a miscommunication or a misunderstanding. It is extremely easy to tell whether an alternator is good or bad. This was an outright racket. However courteous they may have been, they lose all points for what they did.
These guys really know their stuff. I had my car at 3 different repair facilities to get my car diagnosed and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with my car. They were able to get it diagnosed and properly repaired the same day! Thank you again
Ive been to Midas before but never this location. I went there because I had a coupon for some work I needed done. I was instantly greeted the minute I walked in and the service from then on was amazing! Frank got me quickly in the system and my car was in the bay before I knew what was happening! He kept me informed every step of the way and explained things to me and offered add-on items to improve the life of my car. As a manager in customer service for 15 years, I am overjoyed to see that he was so open and honest and helpful. I was so impressed I sent my mom to see him the next day. I will definitely be back to see Frank again.
The WORST store ever !!! DONT go !!! My battery was died and I went to this store last weekend. After the BATTERY TEST, they claimed that both BATTERY and ALTERNATOR were died and asked me to change both of them (I got a quote more than $750). I cant offer it immediately, so I said I will consider the quote and please help me jump start my car so I can drive it home first. I can feel these guys were not happy about my decision. On my way home, I found the A/C is not cooling anymore. The most TERRIBLE thing is that the A/C is not cooling because MIDAS employees cut the wire of my A/C !!! This is really unacceptable and unbelievable if I dont see the cut by myself. This is also super IMMORAL and UNPROFESSIONAL, simply crush all my trust to MIDAS. How can you do it ???!!!So I have to go to another store to fix all these problems. The true is that the ALTERNATOR is totally functional. The BATTERY is the only component that need to be changed. Finally I spent $180 to fix everything, including having a new BATTERY and reconnecting the wire of my A/C. My car is super now. Again, my story demonstrates that MIDAS is unprofessional and just liked to earn you money !!! I will not go to any MIDAS store anymore !!!
My husband and I had our state inspection done here. I was the ditz with the expired paperwork. They really helped me out, finished both our inspections and got us out the door. I thought they were professional, courteous and accommodating. Thank you to you guys, everyone was great!!
We always get our minor repairs and inspections done here. Staff are friendly and services are fast most of the time. My sons tire got a hole in it and they were able to order tire and got it replaced within 2 hours.

I came to this Midas on 6/25/16 because online it stated Id get a 10% discount by presenting my student id. I got my brake pads replaced and front brake rotor resurfaced, the price was fair and service was good. But after I left the mechanic, not even 6 hours later, I hear a rattling noise under the car. I try to pull into a gas station to see what it was only to find out my brakes werent working. I was able to coast to a stop and upon inspecting the car to see what the noise was I find my rear driver side brake was not installed correctly and left hanging down. My assumption is the screws were not tightened and eventually fell out. I tried calling Midas customer service because at this time its approximately 9:30pm on a Saturday night and the shop closed at 6pm. Customer Service answers and informs me they only answer for 7 locations, none of which appear to be in Texas. I am redirected to the Corporate Office who isnt even open on the weekend. Now Im forced to pay for a tow truck, miss work on Monday, and may even have to pay for a lawyer to get this straightened out. Not tightening my brakes is a MAJOR oversight. I had my mother, my wife, and my 2 year old son in the car. This oversight may have cost my familys life. I would not recommend going to any Midas location. The company holds approximately 2300 location and customer service only answers for 7 of them.

After being in rush hour traffic from the Heights to the medical center, I made it 45 mins after inspection hours. The nicest gentleman named Deandre, agreed to perform my inspection for me and Mike kindly did the paperwork. They were so professional and courteous. I was so grateful!!!
Went to have my battery replaced after it went out. They said that there was a problem with the alternator and said it would cost an extra $500. I said I would just take the battery and they refused to give me the warranty for the battery unless I paid for the alternator. I just took the battery without the warranty and went to another mechanic this week (a month after the visit to this Midas) and they said nothing was wrong with the alternator. Other reviews here have said similar things have happened. Visit at your own risk.

I have been using this location for the past 4 years but my last 2 visits have been AWFUL!!!!The new young man (Andrew, but all of the paperwork says AMDREW) at the front desk makes you wait for long periods of time before you are even acknowledged; he clearly has no experience working with customers. While I was there today to get my car inspected, he waited until after I had paid, signed all the papers and handed me the receipt....as I was walking out the door, he THEN told me my car had failed the inspection for a very minor detail that I would have never caught on paper. Then......he LAUGHED at the situation!Very unprofessional; they totally lost my business.
Today when I was passing through Midas for possible work to be done on my car, I saw the manager scramming at a young lady. No matter if right or wrong, a manager should not conduct business this way or yell at any customer. I would never do business with a place that believes this is okay. Dont go there. Any place that doesnt respect a women, is not a place I will be giving my money to.
Dandre answered all my questions from the first call to the free inspection with professionalism. Mike had my vehicle up on the lift and was working before the 1st coffee. A good shop, check with these guys first.
I have been to several auto repair shops in Houston and this one is absolutely the worst of them, by far. So I wanted to do a simple state inspection on my car, which runs very well without any noise or problems. Their behavior was so rude, unprofessional, and dishonest and they wasted my time by making me visit four times without finishing a simple inspection although they charged me for that.First time I went there, their machine was down so I came back the day after. After several hours of waiting, the rude staff told me that my car needs a CV axle replacement that costs $400 and without that replacement, they wont pass the inspection. (Note: CV axle is not even part of the state inspection!) But regardless of that they charged me for the inspection service and they gave me a 10-day grace period to fix this axle and come back to finish the inspection for free. So I replaced the axle in another shop for $250!! and came back next week to finish the inspection for free as he promised me. But guess what? The machine was down again so they asked me to come back the day after. Finally, I took my car for the forth time and he told me their machine is still down and I need to take my car to another shop in order to catch the registration deadline. But I have already paid them for the inspection. When I complained, they just denied the whole story and whatever he already promised me to do. VERY RUDE!I do not recommend this shabby shop to anyone.

Mr. Andre stated that it would only take 2 hours to get the work done and it actually took 2 hours. I will refer all friends and family to this location.

I took my car for a brake check on April 8th. Because it was making a horrible sound. They checked the car and told me that they needed to fix the rear disc brake rotor and change the rear ceramic pads, but they told me everything in the front looked good. Now my car is making the same noise in the front due to the disc. The thing is that they should have changed the front ceramic pads as well that same day because it takes a really bad ceramic pad in order to damaged the disc in so short time. Now the front disc is damaged and I have to pay for something they could’ve prevented if they would’ve changed the pads. This was my first time in a place like this. I have no idea about cars but I surely now that you don’t have to wait until something is damaged to change it.

Attention Women - if youre looking for an honest service center where you wont be taken advantage of for being a woman and not very knowledgeable on cars ... this is the place to go ! They explained everything to me in detail and I feel gave me a great price . Very friendly staff and work was done quickly .
We were the only customers here but spent 20 minutes waiting for them to even start working on the car, which included watching the 2 workers play rock - paper - scissors to determine who would do the work. The loser proceeded to drive the car into the bay. It then took another 10 minutes to raise the car on the lift. This was all done watching employees chatting, hanging out, and generally doing any activity that didnt involve changing the oil.
I had a very great experience at Midas they were very honest and did great work on my truck the truck had vibration pulsation and love to pull to the left side now my truck feels pretty close to the day I bought it they explained everything they were going to do to it and I believe was given a very fair price and was treated with respect from the staff I will definitely do more business as needed and recommend using the shop
I have never had a worse experience than the Midas experience.Basically, I was told my oil change would take about an hour to change so I waited. After an hour and a half, my car was still parked outside. They finished after two hours and a half, but the sad part is that they pumped out the old oil for about 10 seconds so I am pretty sure they did not get it all replaced (not even thinking about if they replaced the filter or not...).But the worst part was the upsell at the end. They wanted my to change absolutely all the fluids in the car, even the transmission fluid which I had changed last year. They were not able to show/tell me exactly what was wrong with any of things they claimed needed to be changed. The sales pitch ended with him quoting lower prices than the full ones, valid only if I got all that done on the spot which I told him that I cannot do since I had a meeting in half an hour. He said that they can be done that fast. Yeah, sure, after keeping me there for 2 hours you claim to be suddenly very very fast!His pitch ended with If you care about your car you will fix these ... and Ah! I see you dont care about your car. and When your car breaks down in the middle of the road you will remember my advice!.They did the same thing to a women who came to get the oil changed after me... healthy business model which I expect is the reason for their great rating here.Disclosure: This is a copy of my Yelp review, thought more people get their ratings from Google Maps so I added it here too.
Excellent service, great price and a very trustworthy business! This location is under new ownership! I brought my car without an appointment 10 mins before they closed! The owner checked my car and filled it with coolant to ensure I could make it home ok. I have a long commute so this really made me feel like he cared about my safety! The next day I dropped my car off on my way to work. I was kept informed all day about the progress and cost to fix! My car was done before I even finished my shift! They also offer a Memorial Hermann employee discount! So wonderful saved me some money! The best part was the follow up post service making sure my car was doing well!! Thanks so much! This midas location will be my only service place from now on!

I paid almost $500 for a list of work that was supposed to be needed and only a couple days later my car started doing the same thing, if not worse than before. Come to find out after taking it elsewhere Midas did NOT do one of the items i was billed for. I can only imagine what else was not done that I paid hundreds for....
What a great Midas location! I went in for an oil change because my Toyota 4runner has been leaking oil bad. They were able to find the cause and it was pricey but the man was honest about what it needed, the labor time and price. He even showed me the quote directly from the Midas pricing system. He even threw in a discount he knew et were offering for repairs over a certain price range. He didnt pressure me into get any additional work done but timed out what things MAY need to be done in the future and just be cautious. They did a great job on my oil change, tire rotation, topping hiss, etc for only $20. I have never changed my air filters and they were disgusting so of course I paid additional to change those out for only $20 each. Moral of the story, they were incredibly nice and honest people. I will DEFINITELY come here again!!!
Didnt know these guys sold tires. I hit a pot hole in our lovely Houston streets and damaged both passenger side tires and damaged my rims. Had my vehicle towed in and the guy Deandre was very friendly over the phone which made me bring my car to this location. Once I got there Deandre greeted me with a warm smile and could tell he was very concerned about what happened to my car. (BIG PLUS) He told me to have a seat and he will tell me what he could do for me. He went into the back office for about 15min, called me up to the desk and went over the estimate with me. Deandre quoted me about $535.00 for everything. I expected to pay some where in between $1200.00 plus. Deandre contacted his contacts and gave me a great deal. Thanks again Midas Holcombe location!!!!!!

You end up finding that my left strut was bent and quoted me with a ridiculous price of getting it fixed and insisting I needed it to be fixed that same day. You told me if I drove away and made my trip to ________ (~7 hr drive), I wouldnt make it home. Thank goodness my intuition kicked in and I didnt listen to you. Guess what John? I drove to _____, got here safely, came to my mechanic and found out NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY STRUT! You little punk! I hate you for wanting to take advantage of me! You dont win suckkaaa!Sincerely,Some who just saved over $700 because she couldnt be fooled

I brought my car into midas and said the check engine light is on and I went to autozone and O Reillys and their readings were catalytic converters. Midas wanted to charge for diagnostic $99.00 and quoted a price to repair at $1800.00 . I left and went to another midas and they said go to the Chevy dealership and they will do it for free because its under the 80,000 mile warranty. This midas shop on Holcombe has been consistently overcharging and not doing good mechanical jobs. Please be aware when visiting this business its get the money first solving the problem last .

They recommended that I needed a pair of new tires. The short white guy with a mustache and wearing glasses tricked me! He gave me a price and told me that my total would be $$. However, after I was done, he told me a different price which was $60. I told him that was not what he told be, but he kept denying it. I think hes disingenuous and deceiving. When they finished the oil change, they didnt even bother to tell me my car was ready. They remembered after 15 minutes and had my car run all that time. They even forgot to put on the mileage for next oil change.I suggest that you look for another place. I dont think I will ever go back there.

Got a full synthetic here a couple months back. They said it is good for 10k miles but they didnt take the time to write that would-be mileage on the oil change sticker on the windshield. Instead they wrote some random amount that would be about 5k and change. Anyways, noticed my oil was leaking the other day and so I took it to another place hoping it wasnt some major issue. Turns out that my oil filter was hardly screwed on. I guess the mechanic just did a lazy job. Their customer service was good though whatever that counts for at a garage.
Came in today for a tune-up on my car, the staff was all friendly and professional, very knowledgeable. This is the best place to have work done to your car, and they always have fair prices.
My rear end was loose and making noise. The owner Eric took care off my rear end. He sure knows how to take care of his customers.

Ok I really dont leave reviews, but I must say Ive never left a car shop with SOOOOOOOO much information!!!!!!!!!! DeAndre is the BEST!!!!!!!! he took me through A through Z and I never felt pressured to buy anything. As a matter of fact his words were, These are the things I felt like you needed to know,. And he went in to detail about each item.Im very pleased about my service ! That location forever has my business.
I would not recommend going to this place. The tires on my car were old and had dry rot, so I had all four changed, but they did not change the valve stem when they changed the tires, and I had one blow out later that same day. Given why I needed my tires changed in the first place, this was a serious oversight on their part.

Took 45 minutes for an oil change. good customer service. got to talk to the mechanic who worked on my car. full synthetic oil change was $80 which was a bit much.
Horrible place. Stay away. Several places around that wont mistreat you and provide a bad service like this place.
DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. They scammed me, endangered my life, and then ignored me after I raised my concerns. I had experienced some issues with my brakes so I took my vehicle in for an assessment. The staff was nice, but they ended up doing terrible work. I was under the impression that I paid so much because I would be receiving new calipers, but they only rebuilt them--which a brake specialist at a Chevy dealership later told me is unnecessary and a rip off (and you know youre being overcharged if the receipt astonishes the dealership.) Anyway, I drove on the new brakes for a week and they felt a little bit soft, but they operated fine for my short commute to Rice University on which I rarely topped 30 mph. The first time I got on the highway I got into an accident. The car in front of me slowed down to about 20 mph and I pressed on the brakes, but I wasnt slowing down like I should have...so I pressed the brakes fully into the floorboard...still was not stopping. Luckily the other car had started to speed back up which cushioned the impact and left neither me or the other driver with injuries. However, it could have been much worse, which is why I said above that Midas incompetence endangered my life. What if the car in front of me had come to a complete stop? In the end, I was left with another $1400 worth of damage to my vehicle, so I took it to a dealership in Dallas (where I was heading when I got in the accident.) The brakes specialist looked at my ticket from Midas and he pointed out that while I had been told that I would receive new calipers, the clerk had actually rung it up as a rebuild. It turns out that both of those options were unnecessary for my 2012 Tahoe. So, $600 of the nearly $1400 that I paid to Midas was a rip off, and said rip off succeeded because the employee employed subtle fear tactics, You wouldnt want your brakes going out on the highway. Talk about deadly irony. Anyway, it turns out that there was air in my brake lines because the Midas staff failed to properly bleed my brakes.I asked that the staff at the dealership draw up some documents regarding Midas missteps (signed affidavits, photos of the brake reservoir.) They agreed, and I gave the Midas a call. The GM was not pleasant on the phone and asked me to send pictures of the documents to him before ending the call rather abruptly. My mistake in this whole mess was that I did not save the number in my phone, so when I collected the documents from the dealership at the end of the week I no longer could send the documents in (Im a college student, so I had to schedule my visit to the dealership around 15 hour course load and a 30hr/week job.) I have called twice since then to try and get the GMs information. Both times the man on the other end of the phone asked for my phone number and promised that the GM would call me. Midas has not returned my call.Long story short, Midas took advantage of a college student living hundreds of miles from home and putting himself through school, moreover, Midas endangered his life by failing to fulfill the most basic functions of their job.
My experience here was rewarding and I saved time and money.
WORST PLACE EVER. I arrived at this place with a flat tire and as soon as i arrived, a gentleman looked at my tire and told me to park. it was a 30 minute wait until some other gentleman asked me if ive been helped, i had thought the gentleman had gone to check for tire availability and turns out he went to lunch break and didn tell anyone what i needed help with. I was there maybe an hour with a 5 month old child, i needed to get going. A guy finally helped me and told me a new tire price and i asked that i just need to get home that if he can just help me put my spare tire on as i was holding my 5 month old and he told me that they can but his guys are busy right now that if i was in a hurry to go next door and they will help me faster...next door was an OIL PLACE. I listened and went next door and they where confused as to why they would sent me there but tried to help me. They asked me if i can atleast tell Midas to let them borrow a jack since they made me go next door and when i went back...no customers were there anymore and i asked that i thought they were so busy that they made me go next door and the guy inside the store said they were but theyre done now...i was gone 5 minutes...there were workers sitting by the bays on break and he went to go look for the jack and went to go check with his guys i stared at what he was doing and all his time outside was him smoking and he finally came back inside and told me they have one but when it lifts cars it slowly brings them down (IT DIDNT WORK) because i was already upset with them i was just going to leave and before i did i asked the guy inside that if his guys were so busy that why couldnt HE help me and he said that he doesnt do the work his guys do and i asked him if he was the manager then and he said no and laughed and said he only talked to the customers and i asked if he was just a receptionist then and he said yes. i was so mad that i just left !!! I had a baby in my arms and i just needed help with a flat, i even told them i would pay them to put my spare on as i needed to go on my way and as soon as i said i was going to pay them for it he told me if i wanted i could take the truck back ..NO! NEVER! The workers SUCK! This guy just spend his time on break, outside smoking and talking to guys and not even working..i was there maybe an hour and nobody helped...WORST PLACE EVER
