Once again, Raul and the team at my local Mayco Car Care & Muffler (1639 Gessner Dr.) has gone above and beyond my expectations. About a year ago my speed/wheel sensor notified me of an issue. I had these guys do the diagnostics and they quickly found that there was no issue with the sensor itself, but instead a more serious issue with the bearings on the wheel. To prove their point they brought me in to the shop and showed me how the wheel was loose. I had them perform the repair as their price was fair (and MUCH less than the dealer quote). They replaced the whole assembly which included bearings and a new sensor. Well, here I am only a year later with the same sensor alert. The guys investigated and it turned out to be the same issue with the new part. Raul who runs the front office said I need to not worry as the part was still under warranty. They honored the warranty and replaced it all once again (which was no easy task). I didn’t have to pay a dime the 2nd time around (not even the computer diagnostics). These guys are honest and professional. And by the way, they provide all sorts of car care services. I’ve gone to them for years for my exhaust work, but now I know I can come to them for all my car care. Thanks Mayco!

I was first greeted with a friendly and professional greeting. After the paperwork was completed the owner invited me to go with him to inspect the vehicle. Once the vehicle was it inspected, the owner explained in detail what was needed and what was going to be done. All in all it was a great experience at Mayco Mufflers. Everyone from the owner to the secretary and the technician for a kind, polite, and professional.

Some thieves came by late last night after I got home from work around 9:30 pm last night. They cut the catalytic converters and sensors off! I found out when I started it and it sounded like grenades. (This is the 2nd time.) I called Mayco today and explained the problem. They informed me that they had my parts in stock and could get me taken care of today. I came in and all the staff were friendly. I had to wait a bit cause they were busy but once they were done my check engine light was gone and my exhaust was quiet like it was again! The welds look as they should. The price was definitely fair. I will probably bring my next vehicular needs here.

I had my car towed here after breaking down nearby. The service provided was timely and efficient. Raul and his team were transparent about the work and took the time to show me what was going on and what needed to be done. A good mechanic isn’t always easy to find and I’ll definitely be back.

PLEASE BEWARE!!! MAYCO IS INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I went to Marco to have my catalyst converter replaced. The first time they did such a bad job that Chevy said it would cost me $2500 to fix the things mayco messed up. Instead of tell me that they didn’t have a replacement catalyst the used a catalyst converter that did not fit with the old flange. They caused multiple exhaust leaks, I had to go back to Mayco 8 times to try and fix all the damage, because I couldn’t afford to pay Chevy I took my car back to mayco hoping they could get it right. They acted like they were fixing my car but I took multiple pictures and videos of them neglecting my car. I gave Raul (the owner)multiple chances to fix the mistakes they made. In the end I ended having to pay mayco $750 for the original work, then i paid Chevy $2500 to fix mayco mistakes..

I am a local here and this place is a Godsend. My 10 year old Acura TL needed extensive work done. The car would not turn on after several days of not driving it (they found out it was an electrical problem and fixed it), needed new timing belt, oil leak in 3 different places, needed new starter motor, needed new AC compressor. The manager is Raul and my main mechanic was Victor and boy were they patient with me when I was stressed out, especially when they dropped my motor to fix my bad oil leaks and fix my timing belt. They REALLY EDUCATE and reassure you that your car is in good hands. They will sometimes even take you to the back if you still do not know why or what is being done to your car and in the end, with a little patients. my car was done better than my expectations and I have no complaints. Mayco is a one stop shop for troubleshooting most car issues including body work. Customer service was impeccable (including Laura- front desk) and now I can drive my baby for another 10+ years! I HIGHLY recommend them to all.

Overall Mayco does good work and I am very happy with the install. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because I got a quote from them on the 13th for $480 and got hit for an extra $60. My advice is to get the quote in writing and its my fault I didnt.

Bunch of crooks, they will scam you if you are not experience with cars. I will not recommend this place. They are wolfs that act like sheep’s. They are very nice and sweet talkers but a soon as they have your car in their hands they will show you their nails and teeth’s. But they will not fool me again.

Most mechanic shops wont tell you more insight information of your vehicle then Mayco. I went in for an alignment and was informed of certain things that need to be done to my vehicle, a courtesy check, and now know what to do in future. I googled shops near my home simply for an oil change. Upon arrival the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly.. there was one staff member that would go above and beyond and his name was James. Okay guys!! I do not often gave people a 5 stars unless they deserve or earned it. Here it is!! My sister car was making weird sounds when she accelerate!!. Of course!! I do not have any idea on car, so I didnt know what it was. I took it to my mechanic who is a very honest man as well. He immediately told me that I had a muffler problem. He then directed me to go at Mayco on Bissonnet but I missed my direction and ended at this location. Fast forward, I got here and they work on my car for a reasonable price so I didnt have to go back to my mechanic as planned. I am definitely coming back!.🙋‍♀️Just for quality improvement, to hand out bottle of water to customers waiting for their car. It doesnt have to be cold but its just a cutesy ✅

Mayco has great customer service and they dont keep the customer waiting. All were knowledgeable, polite and understanding. I had a muffler installed on a 2020 RAM and they let me listen 2 3 different applications. No one else does this Highly recommend Mayco!

I had been on a road trip from Portland to Florida, and back across the southern states. I was passing through Houston and my car broke down, so I googled mechanics nearby and found Mayco Car Care & Muffler. Im so grateful I was so close to them and they helped me out. I was so overwhelmed with all of the stress and ended up crying, and some of them took the time to talk to me and make me laugh, which really helped. Even when thing after thing had gone wrong with my car, they were so patient with thoroughly explaining what happened so that I understood, and made me feel educated on my options to make the best decision moving forward. They waked me to the bay where my car was being worked on so that I could physically see and understand the issues, which I thought was really special. First of all when I called to inquire about getting some work done on my vehicle. I was spoken to with a matter of concern and helpfulness. They even made arrangements for me to be towed there. Mayo closes at 6 but I arrived at 5:59. They stayed to get me checked in and even arranged for me an Uber home. The next morning I was called with an estimate and the work was done by 11 a.m. No one likes going in to get repairs done on their vehicle but this was the best experience I have had. The whole staff was nice and respectful from the owner to the receptionist to the mechanics. Not looking forward to any more repairs but if or when I do I will definitely use Mayco Car Care and Muffler at 1639 Gessner.

Mayco Car Care Center and Muffler is an excellent shop. Very knowledgeable and let you know whats wrong with your vehicle before they work on it. Raul is very helpful and always looking for ways to make the customers happy. I have never had a bad experience at this shop, since the day I started taking my vehicle for service. Quality of the work done there is excellent.

After reading the reviews, I though I would stop and ask some questions about changing the standard exhaust on my 370Z to something with more of a bite. Raul was as friendly as the reviews said and had Victor put it on the lift to see what I wanted. Victor had a better/cheaper idea and would let me know what it sounds like at no cost. It sounded great and no push to add more than I needed. Completed everything right then. Within 2 hours I was rumbling down the road. A lot cheaper than I had planned and all the pipe work was custom made right there. Ill be back!!!GREAT Place, they make you feel right at home!! Love the sound of my Z!!

Everyone there is so nice, the guy at the counter was nice, the technician that took care of my inspection was also nice. He was really great last time which is why I came back. I feel like I can trust them, and they don’t try to pressure me into services like other places I’ve had to go to. Finally I found a place for me to go for anything I need for my car. 10/10 will be going back.

After a bit of a miscommunication on price, Raul ( the owner ) honored the lower price. He also gave a good deal on a lot of other work that the car needed. All repairs and work are documented through photos by an online profile that the car has through the shop. For the amount of work that was done, they were impressively quick. Very disappointing experience on a simple car inspection. My wife has a Lexus which has a service contract with Lexus for regular maintenance.My wife brought her car here for an inspection after having service performed by Lexus only 7 weeks earlier which included an air filter replacement. Not a thing wrong with her car. She was told the air filer needed to be replaced which is no part of any inspection I have EVER had and also she needed a fuse replaced because the tech could not get a reading from her car. The total he wanted to charge for the filter and a fuse was $50. My wife refused and the inspection was terminated with no charges. I looked at the filter myself and checked the fuses and found no issue with either. She then took the car down the street to Speedy Auto service and the car passed inspection with no issues at all. No fuse blown and no issue with the air filter. Really a shame that it is so difficult for some places to just do honest business. Proceed with caution if you decide to use Mayco.

I found one who takes pride & warrantees the work that they do!!! This is the only shop I will ever bring my cars to as long as I live in Houston. I’m lucky to live very close. The owner is VERY honest, detailed and goes out of his way to explain things to his customers and even give demonstrations and make payments easier for very expensive jobs by providing a finance option. His honesty, integrity and friendliness keep me coming back.

Service was great! I came in for a new muffler for my Ford F-350 truck, they did a great job with a custom tailpipe... also gave me very knowledgeable information about my truck that I didn’t know for the upkeep...

I’ve personally know Raul himself. He knows what he’s talking about and his main focus is preventative maintenance. Yeah you’ll spend money on work that needs to be done but they will be worth it in the long run. I’ve known him and have had my car serviced with him for quite some time and he give honest feedback about your car. I came in recently for an alignment job and Raul gave sufficient feedback on why my tires had been worn out and gave me a print out and explained in depth of what was really going on. Since January 2017, I have been taking my 2003 Ford F-150 to Mayco. Raul and his staff do an outstanding job of helping me understand what needs to be done on my vehicle and how to keep it in excellent working condition. I like the no-pressure way they make recommendations and the high quality work they do. They have done a lot of important work on my truck, and theyve done it right! I tell everyone about Raul and Mayco all the time!

I went to get my AC changed...service was fast. Raul explained in detail what was done. I got approved for their credit line and even got a few other things done since I had the credit. However....I was told you are lucky there is nothing wrong with you compressor and I know that to be an expensive part. So we go away happy, then a week later our air goes out again...we take it back and all of a sudden something is wrong with the compressor....and it will basically cost the rest of my credit line to fix it (over $900) I didnt want to add more to my bill so we just dont have air... Our daughter gets upset that we dont get to go out much in the heat. But we dont need her to get heat stroke.

Greeting was okay but when I ask to get a muffler delete did they not explaining to me how it will sound before thay got started and how much the price is right a way. I wanted it to sound like those Chevy trucks but it sounds like a racing car
