I visited them back on August 1st and test rode an mtb that I found on their website. They had stock of other models too when other stores did not.Their staff was welcoming and helpful throughout my time there and even after I called them later with questions.I didnt end up purchasing the bike due to some personal reasons but the whole experience has convinced me to try them again when I get back to biking.

I had a terrible experience with another bike shop. I found the Urban Bicycle Gallery. I walked into the Gallery only to see a familiar face, Daniel! We quickly picked out my new bike, a Giant Escape 2. I rode it the same day! Great bike, great sales staff and great bike shop!!

I have had 2 full bike builds from them flawlessly and am looking forward to having more builds! Each one has been perfectly built with suggestions from Eric and Charles.

Just wanted to give a well deserved 5 star review of Eric and his staff. 4 months ago bought my wife a Giant Momentum Vida E+ that she LOVES but she was leaving me in the dust so did my research and decided on a 2021 Santa Cruz Heckler CC EMTB--What a BEAST!!! I am 66 tall and there were questions on if the XL they had in stock would fit. Instead of telling me it would fit--Eric, Alex and another gentleman made sure it was the right fit and not pushing me into what was in stock. He was willing to not make the sale then or order one for me. They took the high road / right road and made sure it fit. It did and cant thank them enough. Best two experiences with the products they sell and the great service. I will be recommending them to all friends. Great selection of bikes, gear, service, etc. Two very happy clients!!!

Just bought a bike from this shop instead of direct-to-consumer/or used because of the staff (Hunter especially) and environment. Knowledgable and responsive sales peeps and technicians - answered so many of my questions and always take care of my bike straight away.

After going to a couple of other bike shops with mediocre service and mechanics, I was recommended to URBAN BICYCLE GALLERY and they were amazing! they explained why my bike was not fixed correctly and what the causes were and then quickly got it back up and running for a fair price! i have been back recently and they were able to salvage a part that is backordered due to supply issues so i can keep riding. my bike runs better then ever! I was traveling across the country on an epic bike and train trip. When I arrived in Houston I needed to find shop that carried Brompton folding bikes to see if I could get a empty box to fly from Houston to Las Vegas. I called Urban Bikes. Their response was sincere and affirmative. They invited me out to get the box that same day. I was greeted by Gene. He was not only helpful with the box but also upon hearing my story of traveling around the country, offered to clean my chain just out of courtesy. When I left the shop, I was genuinely impressed. Little did I know, shortly thereafter, when I visited a grocery store, my bike would break down. It just had enough of the trip. I called Gean and he told me to bring over the bike first thing in the morning and theyd work on it. I did, they did, and we all took a lovely picture together that included their mascot dog. Then, I was on my way. These guys are the real deal, evident by this review. I never write reviews. Love them!

Eugene took care of the sale, ordering the parts and was honest about whether I should repair the bike or purchase a new one. He was friendly, knowledgeable and I couldnt of asked for better customer service from him and the team! Hunter and another guy (I wasnt there for the second repair) were impressive and had the experience and expertise skill to work on my vintage bike. Hunter took the time to explain what he was doing and the mechanics of the bike itself, which was great! He even knew how to custom fit a part that they had in stock to my bike when the part was back ordered and it would have taken several weeks if not over a month! Im back on the saddle, hittin the pavement and I couldnt be more happy about it! No more clunky, grinding gear shifts!! Better have at least $500 when you come here. I wasnt especially impressed with the personal contact. I was barely acknowledged when I came in - not what one expects from a place selling many bikes for $1K and up. Id visited Ham Bikes on Dunlavy - same price class of bikes and smaller, but friendlier. If youre mid- or down-market, skip this place.

I was undecided between fixing my bike or buying a new one, but I really liked my old bike so I brought it to Urban Bicycle Gallery for a face lift and they did a stellar job. I could not be happier with their job and speed. I will definitely be back for all my bicycle needs and would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a bike shop.

Awful service! They dont communicate with the customer. I had to wait over an hour for one of the more experienced workers to assist one of the newer guys to help fix an issue on my bike. Lastly, they will make you purchase as much equipment and supplies as possible. Watch out!//UPDATEEric, the owner, reached out and apologized for the difficulty and negative behavior. So will give it another shot in the future.

Incredible. The staff are genuinely caring and enthusiastic about helping customers. My personal experience involved fixing up an old family bike to usable condition after sitting in a garage for 45 years. Not only were they the first shop out of 6 to say, Come on, lets take a look!, they spent the time to look through every avenue to get the parts I needed. Day comes to pick up the bike and it was exhilarating. A staff member went above and beyond to get the bike to a semblance of its glory days. It looks incredible. More importantly, every staff member in the shop was super excited for the big reveal. This attitude was definitely present throughout my multiple week process.I would highly recommend anyone using reviews to gauge whether or not to go to Urban Bicycle give them a chance. Im a big fan of these guys, gals, and doggos. A few weeks ago I fell (trynna ride clipless) and my front disc brake got knocked out of whack. I took it to UBG and they fixed it, no charge. Theyve got a great system where even when theyre busy they do their best to keep some hands available for walk-ins and quick fixes. Due to the COVID-19 bike shortage, I didnt have the pleasure of purchasing a gravel bike from UBG. I ended up buying my Specialized Diverge via FB Marketplace and getting it inspected and fitted here. I feel I get the same level of service as I would if Id bought here, and Ive never experienced any snobbery, only fair prices and great service.

Unwelcoming shop that wont take the time to help customers.Went in to purchase new shoes and cleats. After waiting around for 15 minutes I just grabbed the cleats I needed. Went to check out and the manager hardly acknowledged me, too busy talking to an employee about some battery that he needed to know the location of at that exact time AND asks another employee why a price tag said one size when he recalls the purchase being for another. Not once appreciating the patience the customer was showing.Proceeds to inform me that the cleats I am getting discontinued for pedal production (deltas for stock Peloton pedals) seemingly more so out of disgust that an average person may not know this or may want to buy the cleats to begin with. I tried explaining my rationale and was met with a huh? like his time was more important than mine.Would not recommend this shop.

I went in to the store today after not having visited for probably three years. The new location is very nice. Theres plenty of room on the floor, especially in the bike browsing area with plenty of bikes to choose from. Their major brands (for road bikes) are BMC, Bianchi, and Giant. I mention this because they had all types of price ranges from entry level to top of the line in each major brand. There is also a very nice selection of mountain and gravel bikes. Theres a separate room full of products that I normally only see such a selection of on line (like Knog bike lights). I will also state that the customer service was great...as I was browsing bikes someone came over at least twice to check on how I was doing, but I never felt any pressure to buy anything. Ill definitely visit again.

This bike shop is incredible and the staff is so helpful! The owner, Eric, was super busy but he took the time to show us the different bike models that were in our price range and helped us select the best one. We had so many questions and he patiently explained everything to us and we couldn’t be happier with our purchase and the experience we had at the shop. Not to mention the pups there are adorable!

After thousands of miles riding around the city the last few years I decided to treat myself to a fancy new bike. I went to a few other places where the customer service turned me off. At the recommendation of a friend I tried Urban Bicycle Gallery and was quickly greeted by a nice guy who took quite a bit of undistracted time to walk me through the inventory, figure out whats best for me based on my riding habits, showcase the various pros and cons of different configurations, and explain the different price point and quality tiers of the drive trains and other associated equipment. We whittled down the options to 3 bikes. He sized each one to me, put some pedals on, and gave me some routes around the neighborhood to test ride them out. I picked my bike and couldnt be happier. AND I got a free beer! Very impressed with this bike shop. 5 Stars all the way.

Yo we got a bike from Academy for the wifey and practically destroyed it out the door when the bike rack straps on our hatch snapped while on the highway. Pedal was shaven down from the gravel, front tire blown out, and rim was rinky-dinked like nobody’s business. Called up the nice folks here and they serviced the bike and had it looking even better than before in half an hour. From start to finish, one of the best bike shopping experiences I’ve had. Eric did a great job at explaining the differences between models I was considering and ultimately helped me make a choice I feel great about. Selection was amazing specially compared to the other shops we visited before that had very little to no bikes I was considering. Even with a handful of other guests, the speed of service and cleanliness of the store were also great. An added bonus: there’s a friendly little Bull Terrier hovering around the shop to play with while you’re waiting; it really doesn’t get better than than.

This is the best bike store experience I have ever had...and I used to work in a bike shop! The atmosphere is outstanding. Everyone is friendly and helpful and they really know their stuff.Colin (sp?) spent at least half an hour helping us find the right bike, and was a pleasure to work with. He helped us with two test rides and went through his entire inventory to ensure we had exactly what we needed.I would wholeheartedly recommend both Urban Bicycle Gallery and Colin to absolutely anyone who has any bicycle related needs, and I will 100% be going back there anytime I need anything. Went first to Eado Bike shop for a flat, Im told theyre overwhelmed, they cant take my bike in, and to go online instead to book an appointment. Wouldnt even sell me a tube for a DYI repair because the register is closed. I couldve handed them cash for a tube and be done in mintues but essentially what theyre telling the customer is youre s*** out of luck, cant help you. Theres no buts about it.The shop is closed midweek on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the other days they open at NOONTIME and close at six! Really? Thats pretty lazy. Theyre sticking it to the customer as long as its convenient for them.I called Urban Bicycle Gallery and score! They have about eight staff members doing repairs behind the counter. I waited all of five minutes for an instant repair. It was costlier than Eado but boy do they know how to take care of the customer and make you feel like your business is wanted, welcomed, and appreciated. Eado Bike is really dropping the ball. Word of mouth, people. Its all about the customer experience. Definitely coming back to Urban from now on.

This place is amazing! Clean, organized, and super friendly staff. They were timely with my repair and helped me find some new tires for my gravel bike. It’s tough right now during Covid and I’m sure some of the other reviews reflect some of the challenges all business are dealing with, but they did a stellar job and I highly recommend for anyone in the market for a bike or just needing a quick fix!

I bought a bike here years ago (2015). They did not try and upsell, nor did they treat me as less than because Im no bicycle guy.They asked what we wanted the bikes for (tooling around the city a little bit and weekend recreation) and directed us to some solid hybrids that were affordable and we got one for me and one for my wife. It was one of the best purchasing experiences of my life. Went back and bought a trailer when we had a kid.I bring the bicycle back every so often for service and it is always a good experience.Their COVID hours are pretty limited, and have pretty strict 1 in 1 out rules (completely understandable, I had COVID and understand all of the precautions businesses take to protect their people).The only negative mark is after a service last week, I emailed to try and arrange a pick up time outside of their 12-6 operational hours but didnt get a response. It was no big deal, just a few extra days without a bicycle and I was asking for special treatment.10/10 - great bike shop.

I cant say enough good about Urban Bicycle Gallery! From Gene in sales to the tech team they helped me find my ultimate bikepacking/touring bike for my needs. They are professional, friendly and caring. They made sure everything was just right with my new ride. I strongly recommend them for your biking needs. UPDATE: 12/22/2020 - I was ready to set out on a ride and the the front derailleur wasnt working right. I called UBG and they walked me through what to do on the phone to fix the problem AND I had a fabulous ride, everything working perfectly. I was really impressed by the fella who helped me on the phone, he mustve told me 2 or 3 times, if things arent right with your bike, bring it on in and we will make whatever adjustments necessary! Wow!!! Just Wow! In this day and age finding a customer service oriented business is like winning a lottery. With COVID all local bike shops are working over time trying to help people get back on their bikes. Waiting periods are long. Guys at Urban Gallery in the Heights took their time to figure out what exactly was wrong with my old Trek, let me bring it in and fixed it in 10 minutes. Boom, old granny triple shifts again. I got on the waiting list to schedule a full tune-up and service but at least I can ride for now. Week later we got a bike for my son that they could get in and built two days earlier then estimated. Their sizing recommendation was spot on! He loves his new bike! Thank you!!

We are loving our Giant mountain bikes. I was always a road biker but this has been a blast. So many trails close to home and on our camping trips. Eric and his staff are the best. Highly recommend.

I bought a bike from them and have been happy with the service of this store for the most part. They have done maintenance on my road bike a few times. Some of the employees are very nice. When I bought my wife her mountain bike the employee told me to bring it in after 3 months to get a free tune up since bikes break in. When I brought the bike back a different employee asked if anything was wrong with the bike. I said no nothing wrong just want to get the free inspection since thats what I was told to do. The employee said there is no need to look at it since I dont have any problems. I felt as though he didnt want to take the time to actually look at the bike so I left. Im taking a star off for this reason.

We went in to get our daughters bike tuned up and they were able to work on it right away and get us in and out. Awesome service!

Nice Bike repair place and very nice bikes

I recently had a mountain bike converted from 10 speed down to a 5 speed because I dont need a particularly wide gear range to ride around Houston. I was interested in something similar to my other bike and wanted to see how fast some other place could do the job. The lady I talked to said its not possible to do anything like that.You go on line and look at videos of shops doing similar conversions. I called another shop on my next try. The guy said yep, we can do it.

I was referred to Urban by a friend after he purchased a Bike. I was having trouble with my seat so I went in on a busy Saturday to see if I could find an alternative. The staff took great care of me to help me figure out the best options. The whole time they were courteous and took the appropriate COVID precautions while answering all of my dumb questions. Unfortunately the seat I purchased didn’t work out so I brought it back for an exchange. To my surprise the Owner took the time to give me a bike fit to make sure that the replacement was just right.Overall the personal attention and good vibes make you want to come back. Being a newbie to the cycling world, it feels good to be able to find a a place that I can get my bike serviced, find parts/accessories and just ask questions to knowledgeable people without feeling like you are a nuisance.Special thanks to Eric for helping me out!

I went to three other bike shops before coming here, and Urban Bicycle was by far the best in terms of friendliness/knowledge/selection. All the other shops I went to had a limited amount in the price range I was looking at. Urban Bicycle will help you find a great fit whether you want to buy a $400 or $2000 bike, and there is no pressure! The owner, Eric, took my out for test rides right away on the street so I could get a feel for what I was looking for. I ended up ordering a great hybrid and am so excited! 10/10 recommend

I am a randonneuring junkie, and former mountain bike XC racer. My next ride is 24 hours in the canyon. And this is the bike shop that is gonna get me there!So far, this is my go to bike shop, inside the loop. I have bought 3 bikes from them over the past six months and they have always given me great service on my adjustments and advice on upgrades when I wanted them. They are a fair priced shop too. They have not over charged me for repairs on my other bikes, even though I have not purchased those bikes from them. They have a great selection of road, gravel and mountain bikes in stock. Plus my kids love going there and trying out new kid bikes too.I highly recommend this shop

The best bike shop in H Town hands down. Recently bought a pair of Brompton bikes here for me and my wife. The staff was patient with my questions and all of the test rides. Would not hesitate to buy another bike here in the future. Only thing is I wish they had some shop stickers.

ALEXis one of THE most knowledgeable, patient and genuine bike experts I have ever encountered!!! When my husband was looking for a bike we visited at least 15 cycle shops in Houston. We landed at Urban Cycle and he purchased his bike. Looking for my bike we returned because of the quality bikes and excellent service. This visit we got ALEX!!! WOW HE IS PHENOMENAL!!! Best bike shop in town! Super friendly staff, always very helpful. And they have a huge selection of bikes available in store. Not to mention their weekend group rides are an awesome way to connect with other local cyclists.

My girlfriend and I bought new road bikes from Urban Bicycle gallery. Friendly staff, great price. Eric went out of his way to make sure we found the exact bikes we wanted and was super knowledgeable on all the bikes. They Fitted us to our new bikes. Gave us one year warranty on fitting and tune. Gave us a discount on the extras we brought. I won’t be dealing with any other bike shops in town. straight to urban bicycle Gallery for all my needs from now on.
