Got my son’s bike here. Mike did a great job on explaining all of our options. The price is on the high side but I think everything went up from the pandemic. I will come again when I get a bike this Spring

Came here this morning knowing what bike I was looking for right off the bat. I was greeted by Alyssa and she walked me through the bike I had picked out. She was very helpful and knowledgeable and had thorough answers to everything I could think of.Alyssa and Adam both made sure the bike was set up properly before I walked out with it and even allowed me to give it a test ride in the parking lot. After the bike was paid for, Alyssa gave a rundown of all the services they offer regarding returns and warranty, and Adam walked me through what to look out for (specifically related to tubeless tires) and how often I should expect to maintain the tires.Im glad I came in, I had a completely painless buying experience from the moment I stepped in until the moment I left.The store itself is big and has all sorts of bike, even antiques which were a pleasure to see. Everything was well laid out and it looked like I could buy literally everything I could ever need for riding. I absolutely recommend checking this place out.

I called them on Wednesday at 3:00 in the afternoon and told them my bike wouldn’t shift and it sounded like it was on its last leg, the gentle man on the phone explained that had a big waiting list but told me to bring it by and he would look at for me which I did. He spent 15 minutes adjusting things and sent me on my way with a bike that rode like a new one! I love this place.

Its not very often that I go out of my way to complain about a business, but the service was terrible at this store, I had to say something...We called in advance. The guy on the phone said they could repair our bikes. When we arrived, my wife stood in the line at the register. I walked to the back where three employees doing various task. There was no line. Several large boxes stacked in front of a half wall. Two signs said Employees Only. No one said a word. One guy walked by me several times on his way to the store area.Meanwhile, my wife waited patiently in a line at the register where several other employees were gathered.. At her turn, the employees retreated to the back. Finally she flagged a guy walking by her from the the back Can you help me? We need our bikes repaired. I watched as he pointed..No. Service is over there.He had curly dark hair.So, my wife comes over to join me in my limbo at the Employees Only alleged, Service Counter. I asked, What was that guy doing that is so important?. She shook her head.Im still waiting for a sign of life here at the Service Counter, where one employee is watching a tire spinning. Very focused! Another is assembling a bike (thats understandable). One guy walked past us to the store area, then back.Then here comes our guy (curly hair) from the Register Department.. He makes the effort to mean mug me as he walks by.. He obviously heard me talking about him to my wife..*Note: This is the first enteraction Ive received from an employee since Ive been here.Curly Hair then goes behind the Service Counter and starts attaching a little yellow flag to a stick on a kids bike..This was his #1 priority.We walked out. Never to return again.We continued down the road to Southwest Bikes. Where they greeted us at the door and helped us unload our bikes. We were out of the store in less than 5 minutes! Completely different experience..This is my go-to store now! Thanks for reading.

I bought a used trike from a friend and took it to Planetary Cycles. Keith installed new brake handles and a new chain. He calibrated the gears and now I feel like I have a new trike. He does expert work and doesn’t charge a lot. I highly recommend Keith at Planetary Cycles for any trike maintenance or repairs

Everyone that works here is super helpful and nice. It took a couple of visits there for me to figure out which bike I wanted and each time they helped me and were patient with my questions. I ended up getting a recumbent bike because of some physical limitations I have and they even helped install the accessories on it and load it into my car.

Regular customer for 4+ years and plan to come here for many years after that. Best bike shop experience Ive had in Houston. Bought new cleats today and David was super accommodating and switched out the cleats on my shoes for me, free of charge.

Nice shop. Looks like they are getting restocked since my last visit, which was last year during the bicycle rush. Someone even greeted me at the door. I came for a 27.5 x 2.00 urban tire. Need it for a group ride. She really looked for it. I would have been surprised if she had it, since its sort of rare. Lots of interesting cycling inventory.

This was my first visit to Planetary Cycles. The store was busy. I needed a derailleur and chain. The problem was not that no one immediately helped me or that I had to wait in line to ask a question. The problem was that I waited in line at the checkout counter to ask where to find the parts that I need, theyre not display, and as soon as I got to the counter, the guy at the register walked off. So I patiently waited at the counter, about 10 minutes or so, as other customers were greeted and helped. Then I called the store, no one answered. Someone else immediately called the store after I did, and an employee came from somewhere to the counter where I was standing and answered the phone. When I asked if Im invisible, she said shed be with me after the phone call. So I called the store again and was told that the part I need is in the service department and that someone would help me. An apology was given for having to wait. The service was courteous and helpful from that point on. It was my first visit, I didnt know the protocol for obtaining parts only. I didnt mind waiting, I just didnt like being treated like Im invisible.

Husband and I came to get him a new gravel bike from BTR. The staff was nice enough when we came in after paying for a deposit to check it out. They had to put the bike together for a test. They became a lot nicer after we decided to purchase the bike. We were a bit disappointed that they don’t offer any discounts on accessories when you purchase a bike but the prices were reasonable.

Loved this place! Went in to get my mongoose bike brakes repaired and they did it in five minutes. I ended up buying a seat and some other items as the equipment and materials are too notch.. I am not going anywhere else ever !!!

Im super happy with this bike shop. Adam is awesome! He helped me get my Ripmo V1 and ever since has help keep it in excellent condition. Btw, I just picked it up after some maintenance work and noticed they have some awesome new bikes in stock. Zack is cool too...thanks for the tips about the forks zack! Awesome local bike shop! David was incredibly helpful, and got my bike assembled with the accessories I wanted and needed. Also gave me alot of incredible tips on the bike I was buying. If youre looking for a bike, Id honestly only reccomend coming here.

Ive purchased bikes and had them serviced by Planetary. Adam and the team are knowledgeable and provided excellent service and info. I do miss Danny though.

Excellent service! We came in here with no appointment, and I saw its really quickly. We got a new bike seats, new helmets, I finally got a kickstand for my bike, and they fitted me for it. We are in and out really fast. And got great advice. Definitely worth the trip!

Our sales person was David and he was extremely helpful. He took his time and knew all about various bicycles as well as the pros and cons of different models.David was also helpful in choosing the most useful- and colorful - accessories. The on the spot assembly of the new bicycle and accessories was a very significant plus and added a great lead to this experience.We will definitely return to planetary cycles for our bicycle purchases and servicing in the future.

Recently had a great buying experience here buying an upgrade to an FS from a hardtail. Adam was great to work with throughout the buying process. All of the folks I interacted with on the sales side were super cool and everything you look for in a local bike shop.

Initially I had some issues with a bike I ordered but Adam worked through them with me and was really helpful. I would definitely shop here again!

I spoke with David on the phone whom was very friendly and informative. When I arrived JC helped me. I have a nice road bike that I havent rode in at least 3 years. He took a look and determined that I didnt need a tune-up just new tires, tubes and handle bar adjustment. I was grateful for the honest opinion. JC also helped me select front and rear lights. The reason I havent ridden the bike is because I fell the first time I was on the bike while trying to learn how to click in/out of the pedals. JC took the time to help me become more comfortable in cycling shoes. JC went above and beyond excellent customer service to make it a truly personable and memorable experience and for that I am truly grateful.P.S. While there, Sinead Miller came in. I didnt know who she was but after googling her I realized what an inspiration she is. So if a competitive cyclist/Olympic-hopeful shops there, you know its an excellent bike store.

Folks were friendly, wide selection of bikes. Dropped off a fixed gear bike in a box to get assembled, and price seemed reasonable: $100. It took 9 days, which wasnt a problem because theyre swamped with work orders, but the bar tape was ripped and the lock ring barely hand tightened, so it stripped off the second I put my foot on the pedal. For $100 assembly I would expect a little more attention to detail, and will be going back over the assembly at home to make sure nothing else was missed

This place is great. I brought my kids bike here because she had a hard time with the pedals. Its a small, cheap bike she inherited from a friend. They fixed the problem for free and really fast. The people is friendly and the place is very nice. Ill consider buying the next bike here for my other kid.

Just got my HP Velotechnik Gekko back after they installed a new power assist on the trike. It works great, I have to complement there staff, especially Matt for figuring it out after initial issues with the unit. I look forward in riding it with the new power assist. I’m not getting any younger as I turn 70 this year and should extend my enjoyment in riding for years to come.
