Great customer service highly recommended for radio and odometer service
Dont believe the hype . Terry is awesome, I arrived this morning with no sound in my Lexus and just before lunch he called me and advised that my vehicle was ready and saved me a bunch of money. He was very professional and we had a great conversation.
Very great work! Re soldered ELD lights the correct way replace missing gear part now odometer is working perfectly!
I had received a quote of $500+ from United Radio to repair the radio/DVD of my car, not including S&H to their location. Another place told me they didnt have parts for it. Terry charged $340, had it repaired same day and gave me a written 90 day warranty. From reviews I read I was not expecting Terry to be very friendly. He was not rude at all, just not chatty which is fine by me. He kept me informed during the day about findings, cost and time to pick up. All and all, I recommend his services, just dont expect any unnecessary talk.
Short on the phone with no people skill in person about covers my interaction. It is not something you would expect from someone with this much experience and living. As a fleet manager I would advise to seek service elsewhere.
Repeat customer here. While they aren’t the most charming folks, their prices are fair, the quality is good and they can help you with just about any stereo or gauge cluster out there, even if it’s 30+ years old. I’m sold.
Terry has been in this type of business for a long time. They put out pretty good work. Customer service on the other hand is below average. Doesnt seem to be very welcoming to customers even if long business associates.
Super trust worthy shop!!!
Knowledge back to the 50s; qualities to work on the future.
I took my Jaguar to Austin Radio to get my rear speakers working. The owner gave me an estimate range of $600-$800. He said he would give me a more exact price when he got a better look at it. This was already 1/4 the price the Jaguar dealer quoted who had charged me $150 and fixed nothing. The next day Terry called me back and said it would be $430. In the end he charged less than $400 and replaced 3 speakers. That is less than 1/6 the dealer quote. The communication was excellent, completely professional. My stereo sounds awesome!I think some of these other reviews are more reflective of the writers who expected someone to powder their behinds, rather than get their stereo professionally repaired.
Can’t speak highly enough about Terry and this place. Took my truck to the dealership to get the stuck speedometer fixed and they quoted me a $780 price tag for parts and labor on a new instrument cluster. Austin Radio and Speedometer was able to fix the stuck speedometer at a great price and got it done within 3 hours. Come here before you go anywhere else for your speedometer repairs.
Owner should close this business if he doesnt know how to run it. Good hospitality and customer service is a must!.. not like a uneducated gangsta person like he is.
Each time we have called, he’s been very rude and short.
Terrible customer service!!! Ive read good reviews about Terry. Unfortunately, i didnt even get a chance to meet him. I called the shop to fix the odometer to my 89 Mercedes 300CE. The lady just YELLED at me all through our brief conversation. I couldnt even make it to the next stage of taking my car to the shop! Terrible customer service!!!
Over priced
Well, just walked in and asked about service on my car stereo. Guy sitting at the counter - older guy who appeared to be manager or owner - just glared at me and told me they were not open when I suggested to bring it by. No hello. No we can help you. Basically a non-verbal FU. What a shame. Wont be back.
They were great did the job I wanted at a fair price and were very fast at getting it done would recommend them for all speedometer repairs
Horrible customer service and overcharging for repairs. The counter rep is is rude and angry. I went to another repair place after visiting this dump and the owner stated that the Austin Radio counter rep is the best source for their business! People leave from dealing with this rude dude at Austin Radio and go to a better business
Terry is the owner. He is nothing short of a jerk. I have been dealing with him off and on for a few years, I finally had enough of his nasty attitude. He refused to make good on a repair that I have previously paid for. His own tech overheard me talking to Terry, then tech told me Terry is a liar. At the end, it is not worth the aggravation to deal him. Let the buyer be aware!
Horrible customer service! Go to a more reputable business with better customer service. They will overcharge you!
They know their stuff and ready when promised. Call first if youre running late on a friday.
Worked out great- took my cluster in and had it fixed in less than an hour- on top of that 50 bucks less than a competitor
Let me describe these people at Austin Radio for you, especially Terry: Lying, deceiving, dishonest, unprofessional, rude, simply put DISGUSTING!!The worst mistake ever to deal with these people. Please do yourself a favor and do not give it another second of thought and MOVE ON!There are other businesses in town that can help you, that will appreciate your business and at least attempt to provide a decent customer service. Because, these people at Austin Radio are absolutely ignorant about how to communicate and treat their customers.
Excellent service . Front desk really interesting to chat with.
Excellent repair work. They have been there over 60 years.
Quality work but lacking in customer service attitude
Terrible customer service. Navigation unit died a month after repair. Would not recommend their services.
Great service repaired Dash in. 1.5 hour
Highly recommended. 2007 MDX CD player failed. New replacement $1200; Acura repair $600 and might take 2 weeks; ebay used $350-450; Austin Radio $245, and the job was done in less than 24 hours! 90-day warranty. Other reviewers suggest Terry is difficult. I found the opposite - he was very pleasant, and closely focused on resolving my problem.
The worst person to deal with! Very rude, unprofessional, he will charge you money for the stuff he did not fix. I have used him several times in the past and every time I was not happy. It so much easier to got to craiglist and find a different speedometer odometer repair. Very bad experience.
Good spot for what I needed
These ppl are the most rudest ppl on earth. I am not joking I would rather go anywheres than every step on these ppls door. They talk to you like you are bothering them or annoying them. WORST PLACE!
Excellent work product, but horrible customer service.
Always A+ work here, been using Terry for over 15yrs.

Horrible service and attitudes
