This is my go to African market, I literally drive 30 minutes to come here. I love the staff, it smells not like a African in Market I don’t know how to explain that better LOL, and the fish and meat is always fresh, it’s not pre-cut and left in the freezer for God knows how long LOL

I love this store. They basically have all the items I need to make my African recipe. I have been usually going now just to get the palm oil and frozen spinach.

I love the variety of items offered at the store. The stench of the normal farmers market or African store is absent from this store. I do not have to worry about having changing clothes in the car or having to go straight home after a visit to this store. The customer service is at a good level, it is not too shabby but could be improved.

I always get nice and fresh stuffs from their. Its far better and neater than the Westheimer branch.

They get 4 stars for excellence customer service and clean environment. But the designer stew I ordered was completely not it. It just didnt taste like a designer stew to me. Besides that, everything else was great. I definitely will shop here again, but please do something about that stew.

Their food seasoning is good and most of the take away soups can compete with what you find in Nigeria. Their beans and dodo is top notch. They are also reasonably priced, capped with friendly and helpful attendants.

So I am a regular customer here. I shop here for staples and meat every week since this store opened. I know their food is sometimes hit and miss, most times I buy ready made designer stew and TRAD soup to ease cooking ish. The last designer stew I bought yesterday, at 7:25 yesterday 09/20, I still have my receipts, almost sent me and my wife to the ER. We went to the toilet all through the night. My wife did the same.I’m heading out now to CVS to get stool suppression tablets and also get other meds so I can regain all lost electrolytes.See I buy here consistently since this store opened on Beechnut, the quality of the food has gone downhill. The least you can do is to sell the food fresh, cook it in an hygienic environment. That’s not too much to ask.Hope this can change moving forward. The Houston Health Department will be notified next time this happens to me or anyone I know. This review will be kept as reference as well.

This place its big and I think I saw things I needed right there

The store is clean smells nice and customer service on point. I called to check if they had frozen okazi leaves. They said they did. When I got there there was none left. I told an associate about the situation. She inquired about it, went in the back.. searched for any left.. took her quite a while. And came back with a few. And she apologized for the miscommunication.. Thats a behavior that is very rare at an African store. Please make her manager. I wish I knew her name. That is what we call customer service...above and beyond.I generally just go to African stores once in a while, to pick up few items and get out cuz sometimes you would even line up for ages and nobody would care.. This lady made me wanna shop more at African stores. Kudos girl, and keep up something great is coming ahead with such customer care skills.

Great need more staff

It was great, we found everything we went out to buy!!

So far my experience has been good. I tried their catfish pepper soup the other day and I wasnt impressed thou. The soup was thin and you only get i big mid section fish for $11. The eguis is good. And now they have my hometown soup of oyo😃😃What is it with selling 1 catfish for $11. Got a catfish stew and AGAIN just one fish.....never again.

This is the neatest African Market in Houston, well organized, you will never smell any bad odour, the staffs were tremendously respectful and friendlyThey also have the cheapest STUFFS or African stuffs among others in the town I must confessThe only remaining thing is that they need to put manual Scale behind the fruits stocks, so that customer can weigh their fruit before taking it to the cashier.I recommend this place for all Blacks and whites who love African food and StuffsI CONFIRMED, SIGNED and SEALED

UPDATE: Im guessing there has been some changes in the kitchen so Im now upgrading them from 1 to 5 STARS, thanks for the changes.Customer service is horrible the new girl in the back at the kitchen name Oyindamola doesnt take directions well for call in orders, we drove 40 minutes away, placed an order over the phone and we were told it was plenty of eguci soup and our order wasnt complete when we got there and was told something different this is unacceptable didnt have to deal with such horrible service when Coco was in charge.

First of all let me say that I rarely post reviews but I just had to for this store, because this is the ONLY Nigerian store that gives you effective customer service . Shopping experience is always a pleasure the employees from the meat section to the kind cashiers to the understanding managers make shopping easy . I ordered fish and chicken yesterday but couldn’t pick it up at the time, I called the store to have them put it in a freezer or something for me, the person who picked the call KOKO was effective enough to take down my name and number and got back to me in timely manner, she told me she had kept it and I should come pick it up. I came in the next day and Ezinne took over the issue, she did her best to resolve it . Nishola was also willing to help as well and Oyinda checked me out with her pleasant personality.Y’all are the best !

This African market recently opened at the intersection of Beechnut & Wilcrest in southwest Houston. I love its clean spaciousness thats quite unlike the usual tightly-cramped African market stores. Staff are friendly and always thank you for patronage. The selection is standard and prices good...youll find whatever you need to make a delicious native dish. They also have a take out section for fresh hot food...meat pies, akara, suya, egg roll, jollof rice, fried rice, beans & plantain, stews, etc.
