Place an order for pick up, they text me that that theyre running an hour behind which was fine Im. I wait for over half an hour at the pick up To end up having half the stuff on my order supposedly not in stock Walked in the store and all the items that they said were unavailable were on the shelf. Manager couldnt be bothered to come to the desk And then when I called manager hands me to a poor girl 18 years old to deal with it. Tried to call corporate offices it sends you to India So Buffy and Denise the managers shoved off an angry customer and customer Im to an 18 year old girl
Key highlights of what use to be a good Kroger.- No help in the store. You continue to pay joke money and you won’t get help. It’s a circle that will never change apparently.-The “do it yourself” check out machines are absolutely terrible. Outdated, glitchy, pieces of junk and that’s being generous.-People shop because we need groceries. So when there’s only one line open, and there’s 12 people waiting in that line, so everyone goes the the “machines” there’s this poor kid who has to fix the computer every second for every person because they are junk and gets yelled at by customers because they’re annoyed. How you don’t walk out of a job that terrible is beyond me.
Deli has a great selection. They really need deal with their rude guy that works deli counter...Gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time, thought he might be having a bad day but I guess hes rude all the time. Tired of it and taking my business to an establishment who values their customers. ✌
Horrible customer service at the pharmacy. They wont start to fill a prescription until you show up then tell you to come back at a later time. 7 hours after the prescription was called in it still isnt filled for a simple antibiotic. This isnt the first time this has happened but will be the last time I use any Kroger pharmacy. I will spread the word of incompetence, lack of empathy and extremely rude management towards customers. I will leave this review with the pharmacy managers own words, I dont know what to tell you, you should have called before showing up, we make those customers our priority.... enough said!
This location cant get it together no matter how hard they try! Ive had to move all of my prescription to another pharmacy because they 1. never have the medicine you need so you have to wait a day or two for them to order more, 2. they tell you youre script is ready and youll get there and they tell you itll be another hour. This hasnt happened once or twice, but almost every time to myself AND my wife. If youre having the same problem I suggest moving your business to Pharmacare...they even deliver your meds if you have a hard time getting there! Now thats a good pharmacy.
My wife and I are senior citizens, so we place our orders online and then pick them up. Every other time they were friendly and efficient. Today my wife picked up our order and when we were unloading the car I noticed two things were wrong. First and foremost was the Coke products, we always order diet coke. We received regular Coke. In this household 60 per cent of the individuals are diabetic. So we have to drink diet pop. Secondly she ordered a Carrot cake for Easter and was given mini cupcakes. Granted they were carrot, but nowhere near the same. Since this does not seem to matter we will shop at your competitors.
This kroger is not good, the produce is bad, the meat is bad, shelves are always empty, I gave this place a shot for a long time and I cant do it anymore
I always shop here. Staff is great, store is laid out perfectly. Jean in the floral department is the best. Seriously Kroger should have Jean train every other employee.
This store isnt currently enforcing the state mandated mask policy for public spaces. I called customer service for this store to ask them about their mask policy and I was told that corporate told them they did not have to enforce. So I called corporate to verify. Corporate Kroger looked up the state mandate and verified with me that the mask mandate is in fact still in effect and applies to their stores. If you are wondering why the covid-19 numbers in Michigan are so bad, look no further than this Kroger.
What a JOKE. Sooo...cant have self checkouts that take cash. Then only open two lines regularThen have computer system crash and cant take any credit/debit!!!Then...cash line runs out of coins for change.People...come on...
I usually order pickup when I shop for groceries to avoid contact during covid. I have ordered pickup from howell kroger several times and every time there is an issue with the order. I selected allow substitutes but the employees are lazy and just completely cancel staple items that can easily be substituted like bread and eggs. Then Ill go in the store (because I still need these items) and they have the exact item I ordered. The worst though was the pickup order I ordered today. They once again did not substitute bread, they charged me for a pot pie and didnt give it to me and they charged for 10 chicken breast when I only ordered 2. This took my order from $48 to $98. Even worse I was not given a receipt at pickup like I usually am and did not notice my total until I got home and went on the app to report my missing item. I tried calling customer service but could not reach a person so I had to drive back to the store and go inside (defeating the purpose of pickup) to get a refund for the chicken breasts. I have been refunded but this was a major hassle. If you want to order pickup I recommend going elsewhere, thats what I will be doing. If you are ok with shopping in person this is an ok store.
Kroger pharmacy is the all time worst at this location.
So sad I just cant use this store after 7 years of an employee here calling me a bad name. It really added to my poor health and depression at the time. Really sad.
Dont use click list for this location. They are never on time and the order is never right. Ive never had a problem with any other Kroger location. There is definitely something wrong with how the Howell location plans their click list or staffs.
Dont use the click list. I was in the parking lot 10 mins before my pick up time, so I did the online check in. At 8 mins before my pick up time, they called and told me there was no way they were going to get to my order, and that I would have to pick it up the next day. Then they were rude when I said to cancel the order.*This isnt the first time Ive had this problem. The last time I had to wait an hour, and didnt even get my whole order.
This is not a review of the store itself. This only pertains to the online ordering, at the Howell branch. When you order online, they will respond with a time that the order will be ready to pick up. The store gives you a specific time, e.g. 3-4pm.Last week we had to wait a half hour. This week we ordered this morning at 8am.We were sent a confirmation email mail stating it will ready for pick between 3-4pm today.I showed up at 3:05pm. When I called the pickup number they said they hadn’t started it yet. They were behind all morning. This seems like a lot of bull to me. My wife received a text message at 2:31 reminding us to pick up our groceries.I would not recommend this service from this particular Kroger’s. We will try Brighton and see how it goes.
To Whom It May Concern,I am writing today to voice my concern about your mandatory mask wearing policy in your Michigan stores, even for those who cannot medically tolerate it.As stated in the Governor’s newest ORDER (not law) on 7/13/20The requirement to wear a face covering does not apply to individuals who:Cannot medically tolerate a face covering. My family of 7 averaged over $14,000 spent at Kroger each year and were turned away when trying to enter this week. I am not able to wear one and I centrality would NEVER put one on my young children! We have tried the curbside pick up 3 times and each time was a horrible experience! We have now made the decision to NEVER spend our hard-earned money at any Kroger or affiliate because we do not want to support these outrageous policies your company has put in place. On the other hand I would like to thank you for pushing us out because we were able to have all of our food needs met by reaching out to local farmers and not only are their prices much cheaper but the quality of food we are now receiving is far superior to what we were getting! Now we will be sure to pass on all this information to friends, family and anyone who will listen so they can make informed decisions about what companies they are supporting and where they want to spend their hard earned dollar.Farewell from a 15-year Kroger shopper!
I cant even begin to put my experience with Kroger in Howell into words. It will be too long. They have a complete lack of customer service. Employees are rude. They cant get online orders done on time. I have tried to work with them. One of the managers told me to try and speak to someone above him, because he had been trying to get help for a while. I went up to the district office. Nothing changed!!! The last order, again was late. I told them to keep it!!!!!!! I tried Buschs in Brighton. Exemplary service and quality of fruits and vegetables. I will never spend another dime at any Kroger. Convenience is never worth giving up good customer service!!!!!!
Went grocery shopping tonight and was shocked to see both employees and customers not wearing masks. The manager there obviously doesn’t take this seriously or care about my safety so my family will be shopping elsewhere. I have noticed their cleanliness and overall customer service has been going down for quite sometime, tonight was the worst.
The smell of rotten meat hits me everytime I walk into this location! Produce has small nats flying around. Store is dirty and run down! Staff is beyond rude, and unhelpful! This location needs TLC
All I can say is thank you Rachel in the pharmacy. You made my night. You were nice, funny, kind and just an overall great person. Thank you for making me laugh after my 3rd visit with you. Haha. Please let her know she made a difference in someones horrible day.
Way too many times I have seen obviously non-service animals in this store...By Michigan law, only service (not comfort) animals are allowed in stores that serve food or sell food consumed by humans. This is because service animals are specifically trained, vaccinated and bathed to be non dangerous to be around the food we and our children consume. I have complaint several times to employees and managers about this violation of the law and they do nothing, I refuse to shop in a store with not only poor hygiene but absolutely dangerous practices and violation of the law. The service dog laws are in place to protect us and the people who truly need service animals and should not be allowed to be exploited as this Kroger store does. I have reported this store to the health department.
The deli is beyond slow. They will ignore you. I asked for help and they told me be right there. 15 minutes later someone helped me. No one stopped what they were doing to help me. Their were 3 workers. Poor customer service!! And NEVER any cashiers!! Very rude staff!
I am upset that they require a PIN number to make a purchase with MasterCard. I haven’t had a pin for years.
Best service, fresh produce, wide selection with reasonable prices. I frequent this location at least once a week and Ive never had a poor experience. Very rarely is a product out of stock or unavailable, but management and staff go above and beyond to help find good alternatives or try to have it added as a carried item. I cannot say enough kind and positive things. If only every other big chain store could be half as good as Kroger.
This place gets mixed results for me. The meat spoils quickly. The produce is rough most days, check thoroughly. The deli department over charges on sale items constantly, check the price always!!! Ive watched a day manager berate a mentally challenged girl. Cashiers and baggers do amazing though.
I shop here every week. The staff is super nice and friendly. The pharmacy is great too. They make prescriptions so convenient with the drive through. The store is clean. My only complaint is that the meat department often out of things, sometimes advertised sale stuff too.
This store has really come a long way! They have renovated and reconfigured it nicely. Great layout, rejuvenated workforce! I really recommend this Kroger!
AWESOME selection !!! FRESH PRODUCE!! FRESH flowers!!However..very RUDE employees and constant weird vibe in the store..like no music or very slight music.Does not offer a friendly atmosphere. .or pick up service like Walmart or other grocery chain. I guess for me its worth being there as little as possible.
Great selection and very clean store. Always stocked well with good products.
The store is always clean and the staff are always greeting you with a smile. They will stop what theyre doing to find the product youre looking for and will do it happily. From management on down the nicest hometown folks you will ever meet!
Chris at the was having a rough day at the deli with his poor attitude.
Much like the experience Bill James had, the Online Orders are terrible. We shopped pickup since Kroger started it at the Pinkney store and never once had a single problem. We recently moved to Howell and this store has rarely been on time and our last order they forgot to give us 5 of our totes after an 1 1/2 hour wait past the pickup time.
I so wish I could buy boarshead deli meat somewhere else. The wait at The deli is usually ridiculus. Ive had to ask the workers in the deli to change gloves before working on my order, when they came from the back of store. That was before Covid 19. Tried to get a deli order the other day was impossible. One gal working on a huge order. Two customers in masks waiting for any kind of acknowledgment. No sliced meat or cheese in refrig. section. Waited 15 minutes, I asked if she had any idea how long the wait was, and was told she had to cut a couple more pounds of cheese. So decided to do other shopping. Wasnt worth the risk. Called to ask if I could order from deli over the phone today, was told no.....so very disatisfied.
This Kroger is awesome. If youre looking for seafood at a great price, go here. Store is always clean, and they just updated their beer area. Much bigger selection now.
Very nice inside, good organization. Decent organic options. Only thing holding this location back from a 5 star honestly is the rudeness of the register employees. There are a few friendly faces but the majority will just give you a cold stare as you say have a nice day and even today a girl at the far left check out rolled her eyes and gave me a death stare when I said to have a great day. I know not everyone is a people person but perhaps those people should do stocking or something else in order to keep from misleading customers from using this Kroger establishment.
No raspberries or strawberries. Walked in and right out. There are 4 other major grocery retailers in this town, obviously this isn’t the one to go to! Also their cut strawberries cost 2-3 times as much as Meijer’s.
Trash blocked the entrance so much that when I was trying to get coke off the display there was a trash cart nearby blocking the way out for another customer and the other customer was very rude to me about it as if I worked there and should have done something about it. The cashier at the self checkout was great she even offered to scan my 24 packs of coke without me having to ask for assistance
Didnt like the inconsiderate lady ahead of me in the 15 items or less with 26 items ( I counted as she put them on belt) and the boy cashier said nothing to her about the rules. He should have educated her on the rule instead of making her entitled as myself and people behind me obeying the rule stayed quiet not to cause an unwanted scene as it wasnt our place to educate her, but his. Next time I will make a scene if not handled properly.I love the store very much as does my daughter as she shops there often also. Please address this issue to be fair for everyone obeying store rules before it gets out of hand.Thank you...
They need to change the time they close on here. Was told they were closed at 10pm when online it shows 11pm. Had to turn away a good 20 people.
Love the meat and produce. Cost a bit more but better quality. Good sale prices and cant forget freebie Friday with ur Kroger card
This is a very nice Kroger. Clean, huge and has more selection than an average store. The produce section always seems fresh and clean.
Do not use Click List at this Kroger. Order is never on time, never right and are always understaffed. They always manage to fill your order with meat that expires the same or next day. Oh, and if you want to spend another hour sitting in the lot, ask them for a reciept.
Shop here all the time, great selection. Todays visit was longer than usual because everything was rearranged, with some shelves empty and covered with a sign stating most bought items coming. Ran into some regulars Ive seen shopping and they also stated their confusion on where things are.
Nice clean store and easy to access/see from the main roads. Well stocked and easy to get in and out even with a lot of other people shopping.
Always a great place to shop. All the employees are helpful and the fruits and veggies are always fresh. Cant find something ask, always helpful employees!
Always has what I need and store is generally clean. On weekends its crowded but during the week in the mornings not too bad. Employees are helpful and friendly, the older gentleman who works in stock with a biker beard always has a smile.
Great Location, easy in/out, gas station, fuel point rewards. Great selection of organics. Currently, no On-line shop/pick-up program.
Use Kroger Click List and orders are accurate and promptly delivered to my car. Shoppers are very courteous. Psychical limitations dont allow me to ambulate well as i have copd, and this service is a god send!
Clean, easily navigable, convenient gas station right next door to use your points on. Wish the points month to month were combinable, I find it so frustrating to have the ability to have $0.50 off/gallon -- but only if I could combine months.
One of those real big Krogers with tons of selection. Very well kept too. I normally loathe going grocery stores due to the anxiety involved (yes, I know Im a little crazy), but this one just felt... Comfortable.
It was lovely. Cant wait to go back. It was pleasant. Iam going back on Wednesday. Just because.
We do a lot of our shopping here. We love the selection, the convenience, the low gas prices, and it is hard to beat their seasonal selections. Kroger Plus card is a MUST if you are going to shop here.
I don’t mind shopping here if I have to but the staff is generally rude as hell.
Its smaller than some but the selection is still great and its convenient for us. Fruits and veggies are always fresh, great meats, and above par beer selection
Great selection and very clean store. Always stocked well. Great sales weekly.
Really nice people and friendly and always ready to help whatever you need.
Summary: great store with up to date store and servicesThis is my main Kroger and for good reason! We often do online orders to save time picking up groceries after work and we havent been let down yet. The staff always tries hard to get whats on the list and had followed the procedures of upgrading when an item is unavailable. Theyre usually pretty fast. The reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because this Kroger is doing really well; so well, in fact, that they should redo the parking lot and the horrid navigation around the fuel center. This place is a nightmare to get around and trying to turn out onto Oak Grove sometimes makes me get gas in Cohoctah. The fact that this place is super packed every single day would make you think a business thats so successful would care about upgrading infrastructure for customer happiness and safety.
Quick, everything my wife ordered was correct. The young lady was friendly, energetic and loves her job.
Decent selections of food and everyday items. Gas station usually has lower prices than area stations, and the cents off based on membership and points can be worth it. Bottle return is sketchy because the bottles you buy AT Kroger are classified as not acceptable when you try and return them.
Very nice and clean store. Laid out fairly well. Good selection of food.
Worst deli around. Employees ignore customers. Although if you like your chicken dinners with a side of flies crawling all over it then this is the deli for you.
Krogers has always had good prices the people are nice and friendly Ive always found what I needed there and I do tell friends about the things I find at Krogers
The remodeling has paid off. Love the sushi bar and produce along with unique pops. Great location.
The service at Kroger is always excellent. Everyone is friendly and accessible. I especially love the floral department.
It was good. Service good. Prices of meat to expensive
Very good place, lots and lots of options. Always find something I do not need
Not real friendly at fried chicken meals department. but very nice store
Gas station takes debit/credit cards, is well lit, easy to find off main road and clean. Grocery store is clean, well stocked with friendly staff...close proximity to gas station.
Only thing Id change is the parking lot. Other than that, great store! I save a bunch of $ on fuel here too with their point system.
Friendly easy to find the things I needed cashier was great.
I love this kroger. Friendly service, good produce, decent prices and sales, great gas station!
Even after a small renovation the stores aisles are far too narrow. Wide enough for 2 carts and no room for error. Have a kid? Have a kid that wants to ride in one of the giant race car looking carts? Dont even think about it. The carts take up an entire aisle and turn like a semi truck. The entire store seems outdated as well. While the place is halfway decent for a quick run to pick up a gallon of milk its a little higher priced than the other grocery chains in the area, but I suspect this is to offset the gas station and gas station discounts. Overall its not the best place for an all out grocery trip but better suited for a quick pick up.
I like the rewards card and saving on gas. the level of product offered is top notch too. Its just always SO CRAZY and I get stressed out shopping there. But its really a great store and I would rather shop there than Wal-mart. Just because Wal-mart is so huge.
Good stuff and whatnot but watch out for some of the cashiers/baggers.
Great deals in town, if you dont need bulk groceries from Costco this is your best bet.
Every employee from when you come in the store to when youre checking out is friendly and ask Is there anything I can help you with? Great customer service!
Nice newer looking Kroger. I was passing through and decided to stop for a snack. It was busy, but there was a self checkout lane open so I helped myself. The register was having issues with my card, so I went to money center/customer service to see if they could help. The woman must have been having a bad day, understandable, but please dont tell me that its not your problem, then see that I get slightly upset, and then you say, but Ill get the girl who is supposed to be there. I understand, stuff happens, just be friendly and move on, its a job. Im active duty in customer service as well. Good luck with whatever you were going through though!
RX Dept could be more quick, no one in line today and had to keep moving to make them see me.
A great neighborhood grocery store. Helpful staff usually available.
I would normally give Kroger 5 stars because I like their meat products but this is the second time I had to take something back because it smelled rancid and bad enough I could smell it from the passengers seat in my car. I know this happens and is not by design. But I must say what was most disturbing was the attitude of Carol at returns. I didnt realize it was such a hassle to get paid to do your job without making someone feel guilty about bringing back rotting meat.
It was kooool place to go to for grocery shopping
My experience was the shortage of carts I hear happens more than Kroger would like. I guess shortages are the new thing unless you go to the expensive stores like Hollywood and Holiday and the similar town market to find your weekly staples. However, Kroger should be able to fix this issue. When there are literally zero walking in and zero in their bay. It makes shipping in inches of snow and maintaining your calm all that harder during season. This was not a case of lack of employment. The lo tr was clear of carts. Its a lack of requesting more from the supplier it would seem. I hope they can get it together more than 11 months of the year.
Probably my favorite Kroger; I love the Natural Section in both the produce dept & main store
Love the selection! Great sales, but sign up.for a Kroger rewards card to get sale prices AND rack up fuel points to reduce cost per gallon at the pump!
Wow nice store. First time there. Friendly and helpful. Will go back.
Meat Dept in Howell needs much improvement. English roasts fatty. Filets same. Pork chops piled with poor cut fatty chops below. Over and over. Done with Kroger meat.
Found what I needed. Store clean and organized. Produce fresh.
One of their smaller stores in the area, but still good deals, especially on dairy products frequently.
I love Kroger! I moved to western Michigan and there are no Kroger stores here.😞
Today was a great day here at kroger. Friendly service, did NOT have to wait in a long line.( shopping with a toddler isnt east it self!) But today overall it was a nice visit at kroger
I love Krogers....they are so helpful
Very well run store. The checkout lines are always very eager to open up when it gets busy.
Kroger is great. They are always fast and friendly at the check out.
I love this store... they have a great selection of fruits and veg, store is clean and well laid out, people are nice!
Wish they restocked a bit more often but this is a great store.
Tiny little store, sort of tough to navigate but they had good stock.
Favorite grocery store people are friendly prices good fuel points products.
