Ive worked with Christenson Vision Care for the last two years to correct my vision, as an adult, after an acquired brain injury. From the start the staff were extremely kind and responsive, especially at a time when finding and scheduling quality care was very difficult. The office has been very helpful with paperwork for time off from work and insurance reimbursement, which requires repeated and updated completion of forms. Dr. Christenson is a thoughtful and skilled practitioner who listens deeply and explains complex concepts with ease. On a first visit he was able to prescribe a pair of glasses that my injured brain would accept, after 4 failed attempts with other doctors. I also worked with Pam, on Vision Therapy, for 25 weeks. I felt safe and cared for despite the physical discomfort of my condition and my vision has retained its restored binocularity 6+ months after graduating. As an added bonus I can now enjoy 3D/magic eye images - and my inner child is thrilled!
My family were devoted CVC clients for over a decade. Last year I had them replace lenses in my favorite frames, and they botched it. I called them out on it even before I went home but was told the frames just needed some polish and I was overreacting. First time wearing them, my frames broke. I was told that was to be expected, but because I was supposed to sign a waiver and the employees never approached me with that waiver, they would replace the frames. Turns out those frames were discontinued. They offered me a refund less than half of what I paid for the frames, or offered to give me new frames from what they had in store. I opted for the refund, and asked that insurance be notified so that I may apply my allowance to a functional set of frames. Insurance was not notified. After weeks of back and forth, they ultimately said something along the lines of the deadline to notify insurance has passed, we cant help you. That is insidious, shame on them.Because we have been clients for so long we really tried to work something out together, but it was clear that wasnt an option. I am happy to provide screenshots and receipts to CVC with regards to this review, but that will not happen here for liability reasons. If CVC responds to this comment in any way that begs for photographic receipts, I will not respond - that is likely not legal. If any individual wants to reach out to me for further information I will respond. We had good experiences with CVC up until that point (they WILL push you to buy contact lenses and glasses from them, but know you dont have to - that was previously our only qualm). But this last experience was entirely unacceptable. Because my family were all long-time returning clients we gave the benefit of the doubt and tried to find some sort of middleground,If you simply need a new contact or glasses prescription, CVC can help. Ill honor that. But beware when it comes to handling of physical goods.
Shout out to CVC for outstanding customer service and help in a stressful time. I had just purchased new prescription sun glasses a couple of months ago. When our truck was broken into they were stolen along with a phone. My frame and lens allowance was used up until next fall and I couldnt afford to pay $700+ out of pocket. The office manager, Evelyn, reached out to the lens laboratory and the frame manufacturer to see what they might be able to do to help me out. She was able to get the lenses covered under the warranty and below cost for the same brand/style frames. She easily saved me $500! Weve been going to see Dr. Flynn since moving to Hudson 11 years ago. Shes great and the front office staff are 2nd to none in my opinion. Couldnt recommend them more to my Hudson neighbors!
I have been going to Dr. Flynn for over 11 years now. My exams are thorough, the discussions are on a level that I can understand and the staff is great at choosing and fitting new frames.
We switched to Christenson Vision Care a few years ago with an insurance change. Our entire family goes to CVC, and it has always been easy to schedule (love online scheduling that is available other than during COVID). Theyve been understanding of needing to reschedule some appointments within 24 hours when kids or my husband have become sick. I really enjoy the team at CVC- thank you for all that you do!
I have been a patient for 10 years and bring my family to CVC. I have referred many others to CVC over the years. Very comfortable and professional clinic that is far superior in expertise than the other local clinics. We love CVC.
I was recommended by two people to see Dr. Christenson and I was very pleased how everyone was so nice!! The front desk staff was super sweet and asked my daughter if she wanted to feed their pet fish, Finley- she loved that!! Dr.Christenson was very patient, my daughter has a hard time sitting still for a long period of time, he had her take a break and get all the wiggles out!! Hands down I would recommend this clinic!
Christenson Vision Care is a top notch eye clinic with knowledgeable and caring staff. Dr. Flynn is great with her pediatric patients. I have two daughters and she made them feel welcomed and cared for during our entire visit. You can truly tell how much she cares for her patients! I would highly recommend Dr. Flynn and her staff to anyone looking for an eye doctor.
I love my glasses. I was treated courteous and professionally throughout the entire process of getting new prescription and glasses.I was never pressured like other vision companies.I have and will continue to refer friends and family to Christenson Vision Care in Hudson, WI.
The dr was great. The issue we ran into was with the billing/business manager. My son had to have a follow up, I asked the Dr and front desk if the follow up was covered by the first visit. They both insured me that they were. Well turns out that was false. After contacting to get the problem solved they said they would get back to me. Well surprise, the next contact I received from them was a year later with late fees and finance charges. Once again I contacted them just to be told there was nothing they were going to do. There will not be a member of my family that will walk threw that door again. If you like to be lied to and over pay this is the place for you!
Couldn’t ask for a better experience than I had at Christenson’s! The entire staff from check-in through picking out lenses/frames are great. Dr. Christenson explained everything so that I could understand, answering my questions, and letting me know what exactly my prescription would do for me.
The doctors are great and the staff is very helpful, BUT if you have a billing problem it will take months to solve. Especially if you end up talking to the supervisor in billing, Evaline. We ended up overpaying on a bill by $65. Finally it was figured out that I was charged for something that I never agreed to on my glasses. I didnt ask for it and was never offered it but it was done and I was billed. Heres the best part. I was told by Evaline that the only way I would get my $65 back was if I brought my glasses in so they could make new lenses and swap them out. Your telling me that its cheaper for you to make the lenses than what Im actually being charged. NO! This was just an inconvenience in the hopes that I wouldnt do it. When I tried to talk to her about this the next response I got was, I have spent enough time with you already. Needless to say, she could care less about you and is just there to collect her paycheck. Billing is a nightmare as things are not itemized. Clear your schedule if you need to talk to billing as it will take all day.
The most terrible experience ever........
I have been going to Christenson Vision Care since we moved to the area 7 years ago. I regularly see Dr. Flynn, and she is an excellent provider. She is very thorough, listens to me, presents me with whatever treatment options are appropriate, and lets me make the final decision without pressuring me. I have also seen Dr. Christenson in the past for an eye abrasion, and he was excellent. Everyone I have encountered here is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I wouldnt go anywhere else!
They are a great place to go for eye ware and eye care! The doctors are very knowledgeable and provide quality care. I have been going there for over 20 years.
An excellent visit from start to finish! As a new patient, you never know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all very nice and took care of my insurance questions. As a retired Navy member, I REALLY appreciate the fact that they accept TRICARE insurance and support veterans and our military. Dr. Flynn did a very thorough exam and explained everything to me. I plan to go there for all of my future eye care needs.
Extremely helpful people. I hadnt been to the eye doctor in quite a while and they were very nice and even explained what they were doing step by step; which I thought was pretty cool. The guy that helped me pick my glasses gave an honest opinion and I found some that I love. Great place :]
This place has zero integrity and a complete lack of professionalism. We have free eye exam visits with our insurance and when my wife presented her insurance they told her that they participated in the network. It turns out that they do not accept our insurance and lied to my wife and now a free exam has turned into $150 exam and they refuse to do anything about it. Do not give people like this your business.
Ive always been happy with Mickis service over the years and thats the reason we returned to CVC from Arizona. This time I met with Sara and was totally appreciative of her thorough review, her explanations, and no-nonsense recommendations. I expect to come back again next year.
I had one of the best experiences here at Christenson Vision Care. I was nervous as I hadnt been to an eye doctor in many years. But, the staff was inviting, caring and made me feel at ease. I initially made my appt here because I now work in Hudson, but even if I didnt work here, Id want to go to this care center. It would be worth a drive!
I recently was a new patient at Christenson Vision Care and was very pleased with the friendly, prompt service and the obvious devotion to outstanding patient care. Both Dr. Christenson and the lens technician spent a lot of time reviewing my test results and answering my questions. They were also very knowledgeable and helpful with my insurance. I would highly recommend them!
Dr. Flynn and all the staff at CVC always do such a great job taking care of my, and my familys eye care needs. Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful.
My wife and I have been going to Christenson Vision for a few years. We have seen Dr Flynn and love her; she is very personable and knowledgeable. The entire staff especially -- have been extremely cordial and helpful. A couple of years ago I got a pair of glasses and was not pleased with them, (I wear no line bifocals). There was a number on the lens that I kept noticing and couldnt get beyond it. They took care of me, ordered a different type of lens, and put in a rush order so I could have my glasses back as soon as possible. My wife had an issue with a pair of glasses where the frame started coming apart. They were able to get her a new and better pair for no cost since the original ones were on warrantee.I would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone and everyone.
They refused to give me my contact lens prescription unless I bought a (highly overpriced) box from them first, despite the trial pair I had to pay for.
Stopped to get copy of prescription cause going on vacation. I got prescription copy but no individual PD for each eye cause I know they are different. Was told that its an extra 25$. Not happy.
Avoid Christenson Vision Care if youre looking for glasses. I just watched a woman take my moms prescription sunglasses (purchased at CVC) and snap them during a routine adjustment, and then made her pay for a new pair to order. To top it off, I watched them use office tape to repair the broken frame.Whats the point in paying a premium to service at CVC if the customer has to cover a companys mistake themselves? Save your money and your time, and shop elsewhere/online folks.
Dr. Gar Christenson is the preeminent optometrist in the area who can handle even the most difficult of eye conditions and cases, like the one involving me after an eye surgery didnt go as expected. His care and concern, combined with his knowledge and experience make for the best outcome, even with difficult situations. Thanks Gar and staff at CVC!JK
Friendly staff. They care about their patients. Doctors are well trained and do an excellent job explaining the procedures.
Ive been going here for the past six years after moving to Hudson. Dr. Flynn and the staff have been friendly and kind and very personable!
Excellent service.
Smooth, comfortable, and informative experience.
