FRAUDS and CROOKS. I rented a locked for $75/month. After only 3 or 4 months I got a bill for $139. I thought it was a mistake and called them but they assured me it was NOT a mistake and that they COULDNT change the price increase and that they COULD NOT connect me to any manager of theirs. THAT IS AN 85% INCREASE THAT I DID NOT AGREE TO. My exact locker is now being advertised on their website for $65 - so Tims little story about an increase due to market value is just as fraudulent as this company. I called headquarters and was connected to the district manager that way, who lowered the increase but not my enough to keep me as a customer, especially given the NO notification/ consent to the increase and RUDE customer service. Have never experienced a company that behaves in such a fraudulent manner ever before. RENT ELSEWHERE. This company should be shut down.

They raise rent on loyal customers but offer much lower rates for the same unit on their site for new customers! Ive been here for 3+ years and never had a late payment. When I called I was told there is nothing they would do and refused to give the Regional Manager info. Why do this to your customers!!?? Very disappointed!!! I would not recommend this company to anyone

They have a huge selection of rental sizes available and, in my town, several locations to choose from. I feel like I got the best deal compared to their competitors and Im very pleased with their service. I am in Florida and needed to move my belongings into a facility in Massachusetts that was close to my family and offered large drive-up storage units. Extra Space Storage had the right location and features, including the ability to sign the lease remotely. The facility manager was professional and helpful every step of the way. I am pleased that my furniture and other household items are now securely stored in a convenient location that my family and I can easily access.

I rarely write reviews but this place will start you off at a one price and then start jacking the price up on you quick. Started off with $239 a month to rent. It jumped up a couple times at the beginning. Then I found that every 6 months the price increases. I asked what there reason was behind that and they said thats just what we do. So starting at $239 and less than 2 years later we are at $340 a month. Find a better place. For the prices they are charging should give you dehumidification and a tighter sealed space. Find another place. We are so sick of this place that we are going to go through the hassle of switching to a different place for less than half the price and is conditioned.

Great experience. Anyone who wants a great personalized experience when picking out and renting a storage unit should come here. Tim is great and assists you down to the T. He was very helpful and made the whole process easy for me. The storage unit is also very clean and something I have no worries about storing my belongings in. Thats why when I came to check it out, there were no question that I was going to take the unit!

Access to the facility is easy, storage units are clean, but not heated. Payments can be managed through the website.To move out, clear the unit, leave it unlocked and notify management that its empty.

Kim, who helped me, is funny and knowledgeable and helped steer me through the various options while always looking out for my best interests. The location is clean and bright and the unit is also clean and in good condition. The location is also easy to enter and exit making it more convenient.

The property is tidy and the People who work in the office are very professional. I would have given 5 stars if I could only rate the employees at the office. Tim (who works in the office) has been amazing. He has a passion for what he does and recognizes customers needs. As far as extra space storage as a company, they are aweful. I have been there over a year and never missed it even had a late payment. They increased my monthly rate by 80% and wouldnt consider a lower increase. They will just run you out of town. They do not value there customers. They are just going to hold you by your ankles and see what falls out of your pockets to line there own.

When I first rented here I was asked to write a positive review. Every 6 months or so they have raise my rent and a few times I asked to have that increase reduced and the have accommodated me. I have been there for 3 years and once again they raised my rent. Well above the rates advertised on their site. They will claim it is because of upkeep and average rent for similar units in the area. This is simply not the case. I had found several other companies willing to rent me a larger unit with more access for less money and no regular increases. They even offered me to rent another unit in their same facility at the lower rate but I would have to move all of my items. When I moved out they once again asked me to provide a review on this site. Be aware that almost all of these 5 star reviews have been asked for by the manager at the time you rent. Not a great business practice but I should not expect better from a large corporate run business. I would recommend looking for local family run alternatives. Put your money back into the community that you live in

Great customer service; friendly and knowledgeable staff. 4 stars because of the cost for outdoor storage. A business plan that definitely works for the company and hurts those paring down possessions with few storage choices. Long term customers you will not receive a rate break overtime. Instead you will experience steady price increases, the first within four to six months time (at least increases are noted in the agreement). Im glad this is an available and safe option yet still look forward to not ever needing storage.

Needed storage for long term job assignment. Used extra space for vehicle storage as well as home furnishings.. found pricing, and facilities very competitive, and in most both cases better than the local competition.. Tim was very good, and attentive..

My experience with extra space storage in Hudson MA was horrible. I received several emails confirming my reservation to store my camper. When we arrived to the site we had to wait 20 min because no one was there. Then, they told us that they didnt have any spot available! This was such a waste of time. Coudnt anyone give us a call to avoid the trip? Why do they send daily confirmation letters stating that we were allset and ready to move? Terrible customer service !:(

Everyone is really nice, but I find it absolutely ridiculous that the rent price increases quite frequently. I can go get another storage unit for a lot less. Currently paying a car payment when rent started out about $100 less than it is now. Wouldn’t recommend for long-term storage.

I feel like my stuff is safe here, but they didnt ever tell me that the rate will increase every 3-4 months when you sign up based on their research of going rates in the area. I went as far as to compare the price to multiple other local options, all were much less and when I brought this to their attention they said there was nothing they could do, and said to move if I was unhappy.

It is also very easy access to your unit and you can just drive your car in front your door. Sign up was a breeze, the service was great, I only had lunch break to sign up .My unit I love it, everything fits as expected .I was a little worried about water coming in but its rained several times already and my unit has remained dry .The price seems a little higher than I expected but its worth not having to walk through a building to get to your vehicle like other storage places have, no long corridors etc you just drive up, that is a big plus to me .I also like the fact that its gated and secureEveryone I have spoken to which has been four people so far, has been pleasant as well as professional and that alone goes a long way for me .I am very happy .

Definitely glad I picked this place to keep my belongings, the facility is very well kept, and the staff is more than accommodating! He even would call and remind me when my payment was due so I wouldnt be charged the extra fee. Theres tons of variety for units, very accessible, but safe and secure.

The first review of my experience with Extra Space Storage was limited to the site at 565 Main St, Hudson and to the onsite staff, which I rated Five Stars. The corporate policy and corporate staff of Extra Space, however, rate Zero Stars. Both are geared to squeezing every penny of profit from the site without regard for customer satisfaction.I had expected my need for storage to be short term, but my engagement on the West Coast became extended and eventually permanent. From the outset, Extra Space began hitting me with rent increases (more than one in a year) claiming the increases reflected market conditions prevailing in the area. An online survey of area storage rates clearly contradicted Extra Space’s claim. They were well aware that I would have difficulty relocating my storage from 3,000 mile away and took advantage of that.Ultimately, they had raised my rate to two and a half times rates prevailing in the area, and to more than twice the rates they were offering to new customers at the same site as mine. When I appealed to Extra Space’s area manager, Tanya, for some adjustment in the interests of fairness, her response was not only unsympathetic but outright disdainful, dismissive, and duplicitous . Tanya asserted that I did not understand market forces, etc. [I am a real estate professional.] She knew that my distance from the site gave her the upper hand.When I was able, finally, to orchestrate a relocation, Extra Space corporate stepped in to deny me permission to have a pod delivered to the site for loading one day with pickup the next, citing some issue of “liability” they did not define. The liability, I suspect, was having a cost-effective competitor highly visible on the site assisting in a moveout.In spite of the excellence of the onsite staff, I would NOT recommend Extra Space Storage for anything beyond a short term stay. Extra Space would, I am convinced, quickly raise the rental rates well above market.

Just wanted to share my experience today with Gary the new manager. Last year I had a problem with my trailer being plowed in and thus resulting in a very hard time in terms of getting my trailer out. The old manager moved me to a new spot this year. Guess what? I was plowed in again. I called and left a message of my dissatisfaction. Gary immediately called me back. No excuses just simple resolution, he moved me to a spot that will not ever be plowed in and I am very grateful for Garys professionalism and concern for me. Have been using Extra Space in Hudson for going on 3 years now, since I sold my house and downsized. Had checked out several storage facilities before choosing this one, and found it convenient, clean, and easy to use.I am still happy with the facility, and the new manager has been especially diligent with communication. I put my padlock on incorrectly before the holidays and he called me to let me know, which was appreciated. He has helped with something else recently also. I may need to get a smaller unit and do away with some more of my things, however, if the rates continue to go up. Would be giving 5 stars if it werent for the rate increases, but other aspects get 5 stars! Cynthia

I needed extra space! I read online and was happy with the previous reviews, so I stopped in! I was served promptly and courtesly. I was shown 2 units and they would have shown me more, but I was satisfied. They thoroughly explained the price, insurance costs and up front costs. We went over the contract and I was putting stuff in my new unit within 20 minutes!! Thank you extra space storage!!!

We used this while we were purchasing a new home. We found several cockroaches in the unit while moving out. Unfortunately, I have found 5 at home. It has cost me upwards of $500 in pest control companies and my own efforts. The manager was of no help. He told me he was looking into it and would get back to me. I havent heard back.
