My mini cooper has started to have a lot of oil leaks, A/C leaks, and issues in its older car years... I was at the point I didnt trust my car any more but with Auto Specialties of Lake Normans super helpful team they not only fixed my car...they did it reasonably, they communicated with me through the process, give a follow-up call a week after service to ensure your car is to your satisfaction (this is such a great quality that is rare to see), and they gave me back trust in my car,, mechanics, and the way they run their business. I am so happy to say I have my auto shop and I dont have to worry about where to take my car anymore. IF anyone reading this is in conflict where to take their car... you can stop looking around. ♡

I could not recommend Automotive Specialities enough. My air conditioning was not working properly and I needed it fixed before we could travel a few days later. I highly recommend Auto Specialties of Lake Norman. They are extremely professional, honest, and the service is top notch. I took my car in after being told by the dealer that I needed breaks, Auto Specialties took a look at them after dropping my car off and they called me back immediately after checking them saying my breaks looked brand new and they didnt need to be changed. No charge for the service! Some people would change the breaks and charge for service that isnt needed but they didnt; that is integrity. We will be recommending them to everyone we know that need their cars serviced. This wasnt the first time we bought our car to Auto Specialties to be serviced and this wont be the last.

Asked one of the techs if he could come outside so I could show him the issue I’m having. He proceeds to go on a rant about how “he’s not a parking lot mechanic” and “doesn’t do business that way”. I literally just asked a question and he went off. Not a good first impression and it led me to find a better shop with MUCH friendlier staff. Avoid this place

I was on the freeway and noticed a shaking in my tire and it sounded like it was about to break off. I pulled into this shop and walked in and met with Bert, told him my situation and he immediately came out to check my car out. He drove it and then pulled it into his garage and tightened all the lug nuts on my car that were loose due to a negligent tire shop I had used a few days earlier. The staff here are knowledgeable and professional. The shop is clean and well maintained. They helped me out immensely by inspecting my car for an undetermined clunk. They when through all the front end linkages and steering rack. Fortunately the issue was nothing serious, and the best part it was done at no charge. Thank you very much !!!

I was referred here by another mechanic to help out with my A/C. I told the owner, Bert Jones that I was getting rid of my car in the fall and did not want to spend a lot of money. I only wanted the A/C charged and a sealant put in hoping it would last the summer. I was very impressed that my wishes were respected and no one tried to sell me on a higher priced repair. Everyone was very friendly and I was very happy! About 6 weeks later I noticed that the A/C was not as cold and wanted to get it back in for another recharge. I had an opportunity to speak to Bert for a few minutes and he was awesome! I even left there with a no charge for the recharge! This is an honest business and I would highly highly recommend! :)

I have bought a couple of cars from NC site unseen and had the sellers drop them off with Bert to perform a pre-purchase inspection.His inspections were very detailed and found issues with the cars which allowed me to further negotiate the purchase process. The ratings here do not reflect the work the people in this shop do. I had two used tires to install on my car, and called them to ask for a price to install them. I was quoted $45 for the installation. When I took the car there, I was charged $100 + Tax for the two tires. Their explanation was that they are large tires(20”) and fee to recycle the the old tires. They installed the tires and never bothered to call me and tell me the real price. On top of all of this, they did balancing on the tires twice, and still did not do it right. My car was shaking like crazy after i took it back...I had to take it somewhere else to get the tires balanced. Again, their excuse was that I have some sort of issue with steering, or something else.Also, I was told that I will receive a partial refund, which I never received.This shop is just a lot of BS .

Awesome experience today while having my truck worked on in the shop. Usually most garages are shooting in the dark trying to find out what is wrong with your vehicle, but not here. With in a few hours of having my truck dropped off, Bert contacted me and let me know my truck was ready. I have been servicing my Volkswagen Jetta with Auto Specialties for over 4 years. When I moved here to the Lake Norman area, I carefully researched auto repair shop that specialized in Volkswagens. Their pricing is so much more competitive than the Volkswagen dealership a mile down the road. They have never tried to up sell me on any service unlike the dealerships. Honesty, professional, and value are three words that come to mind when I think of Auto Specialties of Lake Norman.

I see that they only post good reviews on their web page so heres a bad review I wouldnt let them change a tire on my car. last year they had my trans rebuilt in my 2500 Ram they had it for 1 and a half weeks, 3 weeks later it wasnt shifting right they it for another5 days now the low pressure solenoid in the trans has gone bad. i left it with them Wednesday morning now Friday afternoon and it is still sitting in the some spot i parked it. this should have been a top priority repair but it is not. their customer service lacks a lot. when i mentioned rental they said the paper work stated they dont pay for rentals. come on 3 times for a trans rebuild and no comp. you can bet i will not go to this place again and i will steer everyone away that i can

Recently I went to Auto Specialties of Lake Norman. I am a nursing student and I work so time is not something I have a lot of. I needed to get my car inspected in a pinch and from the moment I walked in, Bert was quick, and professional. He got my car right in and I was out within 30 minutes. After my bad experience last year being ripped off at another auto shop near by, I was recommended auto specialties by my boyfriend and I am so thankful he did. I will continue to go here for all my auto needs and I recommend everyone in the Lake Norman area to go here. By far my best experience at an auto shop ever.

Auto Specialties has fantastic customer service. Have been bringing various BMWs and Mercedes to them for years and they always work quickly and treat us fairly. They have suggested unnecessary repairs, or overcharged us. This time, my seatbelt needed to be replaced. Extra work was needed to repair the belt than was originally anticipated. Not only did they manage to fix the belt, they honored the original estimate and made sure to keep us as customers for years to come. Thank you!!

I recently took my car to the dealership for some maintenance, and after getting an outrageous price from them for the repairs, we researched other options and Bert and his team were recommended to us. From the beginning he was polite, confident in the work, and professional. I dropped my car off in the lot late Monday night, and by Wednesday afternoon they had fixed all the major repairs my car required, and for a lot less than we had been quoted from the dealership. My car was also very clean - cleaner than I had left it! I was very pleased with this experience and will definitely be going back in the future!!

I wanted to install a hitch on a car I was considering buying... I called twice before buying the car and spoke to two different people, who were both professional and helpful. I took the car for the hitch installation and again was met with professionalism and great work quality. I was even offered to work in an office rather than lobby while I waited.First class operation!

$160 in labor to run smoke test! Replaced gas cap for an additional $31.25 and cleared codes. I informed them that I thought it was the gas cap as I had a message 2 days prior that said loose gas cap. Next time I’ll take elsewhere. I feel I was definitely ripped off.

My AC went out on one of the hottest days of the summer. I stopped in at Auto Specialties and they worked me in, got my AC working and charges a reasonable price. Im back here again today to get my oil and filter changed. Its a good feeling to deal with trustworthy mechanics.

Honda tried to give me an estimate of $450 just to replace one stud on my wheel hub. Hell no! So I looked up on Google for the best auto repairs in Huntersville, these guys showed up as #1 so I knew I had to give them a try. Sure enough they answered my call and squeezed me in early the next day, which was very nice considering that usually doesnt happen. For $200 they replaced ALL of my studs and had me out in less than 1 hour. Very honest pricing and speedy scheduling. Honda will never see the shadow of my wallet again.

The staff are friendly and excellent. Great customer service - courteous and knowledgeable. I just have a problem spending $85.00 just to look at your vehicle and not performing any work to it. To me that is a little steep and leaves a bad taste in my mouth for bringing my vehicle back to have the actual work done. $30 is more reasonable. Like I said nice people, just wish I didnt spend all that money just to be told what was wrong with my car.

I first started to go to Auto Specialities of Lake Norman a few years ago when I was having some issues with my 2008 BMW. The moment I met Bert I knew that he was the auto mechanic for me. I liked very much that he did not try to upsell me on anything other than what was actually needed for my car. I went back to him this week as I hadnt had my car maintained since that time, except for an oil/tire change, here and there. I knew I needed a lot of maintenance which he promptly did. I also know that he fairly quoted me very reasonable rates for the amount of things I needed done. My headlight restoration, which was done by Josh, makes my headlights look brand new! No exaggeration at all. I had someone else try to restore them a while back but to no avail. I cannot believe how they look! Excellent. Thank you to Bert and his team. I know they will always take great care of my auto maintenance needs.

I was recommended to come here after going to three other shops about a check engine light. A faulty water pump was found, but kept getting told the check engine light was environmental and difficult to diagnose. Bert ran the light and found two parts that should fix the light (about 1000 total) but the code didn’t really affect the driving ability of the car so I decided to wait and just get the water pump fixed. He called awhile later and said that they found two wires melted together near the secondary air sensor when draining the pump. So basically my 1000 issue turned into a 100 dollar issue!! 😁 It’s been about a month and a half now and no check engine light! Super nice guys ( even if Bert is a Panther fan 🙄) will definitely be going here from now on!

Great experience!!!! Owner took the time to send me a video of the repairs they had made to our 335i, while my wife used the loaner vehicle to get back and forth to work. I thought only large car dealerships gave out loaner vehicles, and usually to the customers that had bought cars 10 years in a row. I was very impressed when asked if we needed a vehicle while ours was in the shop. I figured, ok it’s probably a little Honda Civic or bearer that we were going to get,,, nope he hands us the keys to a BMW X3!!! They took the time to explain all repairs and why the parts and pieces failed. The owner even met me after hours to take a look at our Expedition. All the mechanics were very knowledgeable and wewill recommend Auto Specialties to all our family members and friends!!!!!
