This is the second time they do this to me. I just wanted to change the carburetor.And I depositing $100 dls in advance and they had my generator for  a month amd they call me 3 weeks later  and and they told me I needed a new carburetor and switch for almost $1200 dollars.when I asked them do not  repair.they did not want to put the switch back as it was.basically i threw $100 dls into they pocket.service repair. Its pretty bad.I MEAN REALLY SERIOUS BAD

They kept saying one thing and doing another. later at home i wondered if i offended because i was wearing a mask.

Only place in town that stocked the blade I needed for my snapper mower. Everyone in the store was beyond friendly and helpful from the initial phone call to the in store service. Had exactly what I needed at a competitive price. Nice to have a local business like this. Hate the big box stores. Gained a customer for life!!

Can you please do something about the dog barking I have Renters and they cannot leave the windows open due to the loud dog barking noise. Theres has to be a Sensitivity Adjustment on the dog noice. Thank you your Neighbor

Honestly came here by accident. Someone recommended a place and my phone brought me to this shop. Im glad it did!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was SUPER knowledgeable and friendly! Knew weird part numbers by heart and when they did have to look up something knew exactly where to find it.

Had chainsaw chains in for sharpening. 1 MONTH is apparently how long that takes. But the store is closed from 12-2 for “lunch”. Are you kidding me???!!!! No wonder it takes a month for services. I’ll never be back. Go somewhere else!Editing my review because of the response. I absolutely was NOT told that chain sharpening was a lower priority. I WAS told it would be about a week for turnaround. I challenge the business to prove otherwise. That is a flat-out lie! I do have other things to do. It has to do with getting my chains back.......not after a MONTH. Im the bad guy? Are you kidding me? Oh, trust me, my business will never be back to you.

I love when I call some place looking to buy something and the guy on the phone acts like I am insulting him by asking questions. His whole attitude on the phone was Like so what..... all I want to do is buy some lawn equipment. I even went in to the store AND when I was talking to a guy he seemed disinterested in helping me even to the point he left me standing there and never came back so I left.

Researched and purchased a Scag cheetah zero turn mower from them and its been a great mower. All Ive had to do is change fluids, gas and keep blades sharp for over two years. One day this summer my mower wouldnt start so i brought it in and they found a loose ground at no charge. They could have taken me to the cleaners but they were and have always been honest, polite and professional. Will recommend and go back to them.

I remember buying from Mr Hill at Hill Lawnmower and Chainsaw Shop when I was a young boy needing auto clutches, sprockets, chains and tires for my one seater Go-Cart which my dad got me for my birthday one year. My best friend and I ran those Go-carts day and night! The engines rarely had time to cool down completely before we hit every trail and making new ones all about our neighborhood area. We both were one of Mr Hills steady customers. I still like going there for parts I may need. I stopped in yesterday to pick up a fuel pump for zero turn mower. They fixed me right up and fairly quick. So I say if o been going 40 plus years, Ill continue 40 more providing I live that long which I plan too. God willing that is.

The people inside or why I keep going back. Always helpful and find what I need. And the service department is great too. And if youre going to buy a Honda push mower I would buy it there their prices are better than most anybodys and they stand behind their products. I love mine

I have given Hill many, many, many chances... too many chances. I purchased a pre-owned Wright Stander ZK from them in 2013. The mower has been great and have no complaints about Wright or the owner that sold it to me. They have some of the best brands in town (Stihl, Toro, Walker, Wright, etc). My issue with Hill is their mechanics. They are simply the worse I have ever dealt with and will not be back for anymore parts or repairs because of their mechanics. Here is the list of some of wrongdoings that I can remember in no particular order:1.) Brought in mower for Hydraulic leak and engine cold starting problems. Was told it would take about two weeks because they were busy. They didnt even look at it until at least three weeks later. They gave the mower a tune-up to try and solve the cold starting issues, then moved to the hydraulic repairs, realized they needed parts and I had to wait another two weeks until my mower was ready for a total of one month and a week. Result: $600+ bill, none of my problems fixed, and no apology or discounts. I had to find another mechanic to fix it quickly because I couldnt afford to wait that long again.2.) Brought in mower for electrical issues. They replaced a fuse housing. Result: Cost me $75, which I was ok with until I found myself redoing their work after 1 month when the wires came undone.3.) Brought in a starter to Hill that I pulled myself so they could run some tests on it since I didnt know how to do it. They brought it back and said it worked fine and that it wasnt my issue. I spent hours trying to figure out my issues only to come back the starter, learn how to run my own tests on it (thanks Youtube), and learned that it was my starter after all. I replaced the starter and it worked after that.4.) I always try to bring in the part I want to replace because I have been handed the wrong part too many times by them. I recently bought a primer bulb from them for a Stihl that needed replacing. Gave the guy the model number and everything he needed since I didnt have the part with me. Wrong part and a wasted trip. Was not even close to what I needed.I am in the market for a new mower but I will not be purchasing it from Hill. I also do my best to steer people away from using Hill when they ask for recommendations. Hopefully, I can save someone the wasted money and time Hill has cost me.TLDR; Great Products, Terrible Mechanics. Get your equipment repaired elsewhere.

I waited to write this as I wanted to be sure that repairs done would hold up. Well, Sufficed to say THEY HAVE. My Honda mower had developed a problem that ended up in it just not starting, and when initially looked at @Hills the tech said Ive never seen this before. They did attempt to get the repair covered under warranty(of course that wasnt happening) BUT, once that didnt work they got straight at it. Ordered the new parts, put them in and my mower is as good if not better. They went above and beyond even making adjustments that they saw needed to be done! The most pleasing thing was that the charge for the work was FAR less than I expected! If you need work done DONT Tri Green just go to Hill!!

I have taken my lawnmower here a few times. Its easy to find and get to. The first time was excellent. Since I am handicapped and a woman I needed help with my lawnmower and they were very nice. Also sometimes places like that can be awkward for a female but they were very respectful.The 2nd or 3rd time the repairman messed up obviously. I called and was able to speak with the owner. He was nice about and told me to bring it back and he would check it. He came out and once he realized that his mechanic had messed up, he apologized and invited me to follow him to watch it be fixed. He took it limping along through the garage with everyone staring at it up to the man who had sent it home like that My lawnmower was fixed properly, purring, plus he sharpened the blades for me to make up for my trouble and their mistake! A great place.

Reasonable prices as well. Theyve got my business!The customer service persons took care to make sure I had any parts needed and went out of his way to make me at ease.

Brought my equipment into the shop with little to no notice and the staff took us right in and fixed the equipment. It was well worth the travel time because they got me home in time to finish the 2 acre yard that I had to finish. Thank you Hill lawnmower.

Friendly people and good service.

To put it as kindly as possible, these people are the textbook definition of amateurs. My roommate and I purchased a rebuilt mower from here months ago. When it broke after the first use, we returned it and they asked, yall know you got the wrong belt on here? No. YOU got the wrong belt on there. So they fixed it. Took it home and it broke down after mowing about half the yard because guess what? The belt wasnt even the issue to begin with. Apparently it was the carburetor. So we took it back and they CHARGED US to have a new one installed. Took it home and it broke down AGAIN because it was neither a carburetor nor a belt issue, but a broken belt retainer (or at least thats what it is this time around). Took it back over a month ago and have seen no sign of our mower since. Maybe before labeling yourselves a lawnmower service you should try learning about them.

So the good news is, they fixed our mower which had broken the drive belt. But. It took SIX. WEEKS. to get it back. No real explanation, no communication unless we called them, and then they didnt call us back even when they said they would check on progress and do so. I guess this is just how they operate, but we found it unacceptable to be told it would take a couple of weeks or so and six weeks later we practically have to bale the grass in our back yard. We never would have used them if we had known that this pretty standard repair would take so long. Lesson learned.

High prices and horrible service I bought a liberty z and they were very helpful when they are trying to get your money. A couple weeks later I got a flat tire and had no help when I was there finally got help and priced me 52 dollars took them a week to get fixed and when I came to pick up changed price to 77 dollars and this is the front tire, but if you want to buy a new mower look around and compare prices because you can get it 5 to 7 hundred cheaper elsewhere

Spent 10 minutes on phone for nobody to respond to inform me of my inquiry. So I ordered online instead of locally like I hoped.....yalls lose

New trimmer good price All i need now is someone to use it

I was sent to this company from Generac with my 5 month old pressure washer . My husband brought to shop, it was fully warranted for 3 year .They asked for $60 but was covered on warranty so I just needed to give CC which I did over phone, Hubby doesn’t have 1 .3 weeks later called it’s not under warranty needs NEw Carbarator . $150 look up on net part $22 at homedepot called People’s engine he would clean for $40 or replace if I bought part for $40.Sent my husband to pick up & they say they keep the $60. Tell bank I signed the paper I was never there ! Will fight to fullest they are thieves & to charge 1/2 of what the only months old pressure washer costs is rip off then to tell bank I signed a paper thieves & liers . Stay far away from these rip off thugs ! My Experience!

They are honest - take the time to explain the repair and what they are going to do (and then do it) - I have bought both new and used equipment - Brian is fantastic - without exception, they are all polite and professional - I come back to them routinely. Mr Hill has built a great company

I use the place to get my chain saw blades sharpened. Takes them a day or two but theyre good as new afterwards.

Bought a Toro pushmower there a few years ago. I didnt like the sound of the engine. Sounded like the valves were tapping. Took it back... they said that it was normal. OK. They also said that the engine was running slow, so they fixed it. Fast forward to last week... the engine stops running because their fix was to bend the governor spring into a pretzel to set the engine speed, and it finally popped off. I took the mower back... they would put me in their service queue, which is 2 weeks. So I said just give me the spring, and Ill do it myself. They charged me for it. So... their screwup cost me time off from work, and then they wont stand behind their work. I had several other items on my shopping list, but I wont be buying them there. I wont be buying anything there ever again.

After using hills to start my landscaping business and spending every penny with them. I realized they do not care or want my business. I took a lawnmower in during the off season to fix a hydro leak they said they fixed it. The mower has been back to the shop 4 times since the repair with no moreThan 3 hours run time. Come to find out they charged me $300 dollars to put Lock tite on my screws. Every time I brought the mower back I had to wait in line to get my mower back into the shop. In total i went about a month and a half without my mower... its still leaking. I also purchased a brand new stihl trimmer from them that broke down 2 weeks later, I brought it back to them and they had to hold it for a week before they can fix it. After all that I started looking for another store that does want my business. I found Dixie auto parts in Athens ( A place I havent spent a single dollar with) I got a quote from the sales rep up there for a lawn mower. I asked The manager at hills Darren for a quote on the same exaxt mower and he gave me a price that was more than what Dixie quoted me. I told him that and he replied Theres no way they can do that so apparently Im a liar. His mood instantly changed when I mentioned Dixie can get it cheaper and told my employees that we were shopping at the wrong place and should leave.As you can see by the unprofessional response this store is ran by a child manager.Regardless what the dollar amount is, if the repair was not fixed and is still leaking. What did I pay for? Why does it matter where the equipment was purchased?So because you did not know I had employees, it makes it ok to disrespect a Customer behind their back?Do you not recall when offering me a loaner trimmer. The stihl was sold and then when you tried to get the ecko it wouldnt start?I would not recommend anyone coming to this store if this manager is still in charge.If you have any complaints you will be called a liar or a bad customer.

Told me that gas melted my carb on my push mower, charged me 150 to repair it and told me they put stabilizer in the gas when they filled it. Used it for 5 min to cut my small back yard. Next time I fired it up, same problem. I never even put more gas in it, it had a half tank. They blamed it on me. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

These folks are thugs trying to rip people off by all means. I purchase a Stihl Chainsaw. The model was a MS 441 Magnun which cost $879.95 nationwide. Instead, they charge me $919.95 and i when i ask them about, they told me that the model they are selling was a MS 441-CM which cost extra $40. I took the machine, ship it to Newark to be expedited overseas. There in Newark, we realize that the model was not the MS 441-CM as they claim. It was the regular MS 441. I ask them to refund the extra $40 and these folks ask me to return the machine from newark so they can verify the model. After unfriendly exchanges over the phone, they finally admit that they sold me a wrong model and refund overcharge. This experience is an illustation of how bussinesses make money in the back of people. BEAWARE THEY WILL TRY TO RIP U OFF.

Customer service was not in their job description today. Very disappointed. For details: (1) they took care of a guy that walked in behind me before me (I will admit they apologized for that), (2) after that little snafu, they gave me to a lady who had no clue how to look up parts. The other guys would answer her questions but not take the time to help her. I will never darken their doors again.
