They are so quick to say No for anything you are donating. Wish I had another alternative or they would be more appreciative of the things I deliver to them. I think the concept is noble, but they need to work with the staff that receives donations.
One if the best places to go for renovationing an older house or for giving character to a new one! Got an odd size back entry door plus a small microwave for $47.50! Its hard to beat that!
Great deals, great staff. Very wide variety of building elements. Love it and their mission. What a great charity and service.
This establishment is amazing. They have phenomenal workers. I can go here and receive any product I need to make home repairs. They also have a wealth of knowledge on how to fix mostly everything.I enjoy receiving the experienced advice. The Furniture Room has hidden jewels.I enjoy finding great furniture sets, fixtures, appliances, flooring, doors, and seasonal items. They have everything a homeowner needs to complete almost any project. There is always someone willing to help. You must check frequently because lots of items are sold and or replaced.
Requires mask to enter! Even with no mask mandate in Alabama! Ridiculous. Just lost a lot of business.
Adding a star because management followed up on my concerns; nice touch!Visiting for the first time in a while, had trouble verifying store hours and was a little surprised by higher prices than before. Since then they have fixed the signage and had several great sales. Displays are clean and organized.Previous issue, now resolved: Employee actually turned out lights in the section I was walking into and said “we only have 8 minutes” standing in front of the only item I wanted to look at. Must have been a bad day; I’ll come back for another look.
This Habitat Store is sub par compared to the Habitat stores up North. Prices are inflated.
I would go if you are looking for building materials. Doors, windows, cabinets, lights, plumbing, some appliances. I would suggest going to the one in Decatur, Alabama if you are looking for furniture, decor and kitchen ware.
Nice things! Good store. Shop there firsy
The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.....if a price seems high let them know, They will negotiate if they can...until I learned this I usually left empty-handed.
I usually shop at these restores around the U.S. This is the highest store I seen in a somessome besides Nashville. How can you price stuff so high when its all donated. You can buy a new cabinet for 70 to 100 bucks. They got theres priced 5 bucks to 10 bucks below buying it new. Go to the Decatur store its better and way cheaper.
You never know what you gonna find. Kinda like a scavenger hunt.
This restore has a massive selection of building materials. So many vanities, doors, windows for good prices. The furniture selection was disappointing and wildly overpriced.
Very good place to start when starting over
Lots of home fixtures and then some. Helpful staff. Check the hours. Good prices too.
It was OK. First he said I needed to sanitize it. I asked where the sanitizers were and I was told to take it home, sanitize and return. I was 35 miles from home so I told him its going to the firepit or they can take it...it was a solid wood door with frame and all the parts for install. He said unload it. Look, I dont have covid, still dont have covid, wore mask and gloves and that wasnt good enough to make a donation. I understand the fear but some common sense must be part of the equation.
I just came in to browse. Everything was nicely organized.
Severely overpriced. I spent 15 minutes looking around and walked out. Whoever sets prices here is out of touch with the demographic shopping here. Ive been to other restores and they were always reasonable. Ill save money by shopping at home depot instead of this place. The owner doesnt view the place as a thrift store so just go to another location. Dont donate to the greedy owner at this location either
Overpriced and very little in stock
Real dissatisfied. It was way to high. Decatur was so much better
Great place to get needed things for your home on a budget. Super nice people working there as well.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!Im always doing something in my HOME and when I need anything I go to Habitat usually on my first stop and 99perct of the time I find what I want and MORE!
This is a great place with wonderful people they are doing really great things to improve someone elses life it is definitely a HAND UP not a handout
Always good bargains
Great place to visit. The staff there was amazing. Found some great bargains.
Ive never been to such an expensive second hand store. Mismatched and beatup cabinets are being sold for almost the brandnew price. I couldnt believe my eyes when I checked the prices here. They also dont sell any plywood or lumber. I miss the restore where I used to live.
I checked online to make sure they were open. Site said open until 2. The sign in the window says open Monday through Saturday 8:30 to 4:00. And they did not close today at 2, but were closed all day for inventory. How difficult is it to update your website? Thanks for making me waste my time and gas. I wont be back and will stop donating too.
I love this place. In my line of work, its a great place to find all the materials we could possibly need at yard sale prices. And when we are thru, we love to donate what we have left right back. Good for your souls and good for your charitable contributions section on your taxes at the end of the year. You cant get either one of those feelings at Lowes!
We got there about 25 minutes before closing so we didnt get to shop as long as we planned but we didnt feel rushed. I did a once -through and then went back to look again at a few items. It was clean, well organized and uncluttered. The prices seemed to be reasonable and the staff answered our questions. The manager and my husband talked about fishing while I finished my purchase. Well be back when we can get there earlier.
Lots of nice items, cheap.
I love looking for old light fixtures and glass shades/globes. They also have a little thrift store and they have a bathroom for both men and women.Im going to help my friend find an appliance there. Hopefully someone has donated one in great condition 😉😊.Also if you are hungry theres a cute little restaurant less than a minute away that you can walk to. And then go back to shopping.
Great option to support the Habitat for Humanity program. They have all kinds of home items for sale. Some used, some new. I purchased some shelving with brackets. Great price of $2/ft which is a savings from other full service stores. I would go back. They have fans throughout the warehouse so its not too hot inside.
Great service
Prices are a little too high.
Always a great selection of household and construction materials. Excellent customer careCan not recommend this highly enough!!
A variety of different home supplies at a good price.
Good to support HH. But the Restore has changed their business plan model, nationally. Used to be a thrift store with very low prices. Prices have gone up & they are selective about what the sell. Still lower than retail, but not thrift store values.
Nice store. Furniture is a bit over priced for what you get, but it is a charity. Be prepared for them to close 20+ minutes early without notice. THIS is beyond frustrating for me.
Always a good place to visit and for a good cause. Each visit is different as new material is added on a donation basis. Whether remodeling or building on to your existing home its a great place for materials.
Love this store! Its amazing! Staff is super friendly & happy to help. Its a feel good store while your donating to dreams of forever homes while simultaneously making your dream home. All around win!
Good place n prices for construction left overs
I love this store. They have so many good deals for things. I always leave with a great purchase and plans for going back for more
IT hey had some nice stuff!
Wonderful store with wonderful people. Everyone there is working towatd making a difference. Cheap prices on some one of a kind treasures.
Lots of expensive trash
Nice place. Perfect for odds and ends for special projects. Scrap wood, plumbing parts, electric outlets, etc. Plus I picked up a slide rule to add to my collection for $1. Ill definitely be back.
We had a restore in Colorado springs that we loved. We *really* wanted to love this one, but it is so dang different. A lot of the stuff they sell are not things that have been donated, but things that theyve had to order wholesale so that they have items to sell. Because of the lack of donations, and them having to purchase things, the prices are much higher than we had expected.I dont blame them, theyre in a difficult situation, but it was frustrating and honestly just made me kinda sad. I know a lot of people are leaving reviews complaining about the prices (we didnt like them much either), but there is a reason why. That being said, there are a decent number of things that you can get at a good price, especially windows and doors.* If you have something youre considering tossing or giving away, please donate here! We can help each other out and the community.
Store was really organized & clean. Employees very helpful. However as for second hand/surplus stores go; the prices are the highest in HSV.
Had my list for a project and other ideas. Found more than enough to fill my list out. The furniture is nice stuff these days,no junk. Some real antiques. Need to refloor your house, lots of 6 wide vinal planking. Kitchen cabinets? Got them too.
They need to update their website to reflect the fact that they are closed for the duration of the Covid19 crisis.
Over priced for the quality of the products offered. Typically priced at 80% of a new product that is not scratched or dented. In some cases more expensive then new.In response to your response requesting more info: I do volunteer work helping disabled/seniors/low income improve their homes. I often get contractors to donate a day of labor. Currently Im working on a kitchen needing replacement flooring and cabinets. I understand that you have no control over your donations, as a result, I often have to purchase mismatched cabinets. However, to make them work look as good as possible we refinish the cabinets to match. Having to remove finish to make hold paint takes up donated time. (Not to mention stripping them to stain to match time wise is out of the question.) When I can buy unfinished cabinets at Lowes (and they will match) it cost less then paying 80% of the new price for your products and then having to put labor into removing finish so that the paint will stick and then still have miss matched cabinets. Check out Project Source Cabinets pricing at Lowes. I realize some people might find a perfect match for what they need, and they are lucky. I realize many of these recycle material place try to price on the quality of the product. IE: One of your competitors had a door kit I needed for $ 700 - 1/2 of the new price for that brand, however I was able to buy a different brand - same door new for $ 250. When I go to a recycle dealer, I am not looking for brand, Im looking for a product that will work. A year ago, I went to Habitat Restore looking for a kitchen faucet, they were priced higher then I could buy a new one for. The employee there tried to justify the price because they where Delta faucets. (no warranty, not new, often scratch or dirty). There is not doubt Delta is a good brand, but my first need is to give them a working sink and used the money I save on the hole in the kitchen floor. In that case I was able to buy a brand new faucet from Home Depot (a name brand) for less then what you guys were charging for used faucets.
I have found a couple good deals here, but 90% of whats there is badly overpriced. Things like cheap dented laminate flooring for $2.50/sqft, old bed frames for $25, or old electric space heaters for $200. Its often better to just buy it new from a real store where you know whats going to be in stock. There are good deals to be found, but I have never gone in looking for a specific item and been able to find a decent deal on it.
Some mens are extreemly niceSome ladie are opposit
I found a good deal on some items that I wanted to start a project with. Wish they had some washer/dryers though.
Love it found the tables I wanted and they really have great prices in many other items. This is the place to come to when you want great stuff for less!
This is the place to shop for things you need around the house. And I found a set of mats for my car at a great price. Thanks Habitat Restore😊
Good selectionGreat customer service
Great people
Morons dont seem to understand, this store is not built for the poor. This store takes in donations, resells, and uses those funds for the HFH construction projects WHICH ARE EXPENSIVE. Most of the products donated are only gently used and more than worth the price. It not a damn thrift shop people, its a cause. If you wanna fund a corporation rather than a cause, go for it, but dont whine because its too many pennies for you.I will continue to support this fantastic store and everything it funds. I would rather my markup money go to help people rather than corporates that have a surplus anyway.
Its hit or miss with this one. Prices are department store high on somethings but great on others. Some staff are curteous and helpful, some walk away when you are asking questions. Ive visted others in various states (AR, GA and CA), much better prices and more helpful staff.
I like to go walk around and see if I find anything. They sell all sorts of items that were previously in someones house as well as some overstock paint. Lots of doors, windows, cabinets, sometimes good deals are yard tools.
The staff there is always so helpful an friendly. I actually told one of them that today. I got thermal receipt paper, great deal.
This use to be a good place but their prices have gone way up. .if you do your research...alot of the things they have you can by new at Lowes or HOME DEPOT for the same price or cheaper...but there is a deal from time to time
Fantastic place. If u need anything for your house for a great price, this is the place. Cabinets, windows, light fixtures, sinks.
Ive been going and buying different things from this store for many years. The thing that gets me is how the price in certain everyday common things are priced so high. I understand its purpose and thats the main reason myself and others I know contribute like we do. Then when you go and theyve priced things as new or what seems high to me it causes ine to think if shopping there and contributing materials are really going towards the good of others. Ill continue as I have been unless something happens to make me know its not right.
The perfect spot for your home upgrade and repair projects👍
Remodeling projects at home? This is a wonderful place to visit weekly for everything you could need to stay within your budget.
Do I have to give a star at all? This used to be a store I could go to for better priced, used things that people tight on a budget (me), could buy things to redo stuff in my house at a reasonable deal. Now its like a wayyyyyyy overpriced Mikes merchandise. Two times I have had things in my buggy to buy and they told me they werent able to sell them to me. Took them out of the buggy for me, too. Thanks. I can buy those things cheaper somewhere else and possibly have a warranty, too. I dont think I need to go there for anything, anymore.
Some interesting stuff, but the prices have gotten too high
Been to others in other states and just felt this was really lacking. Was looking for supplies for daughters place and did not feel it was worth the visit
If at all possible, check here before going to Home Depot, Lowes, etc. They may not have exactly what youre looking for, but if they DO, it will be much cheaper and going for an excellent cause.
Good to get things for your home
Staff very friendly. Prices are getting on the high end now with many items costing more than going to Lowes or Home Depot for new instead of used.
Warning If you are looking for cheep or good prices DONT LOOK HERE. They have higher prices then Lowes for used stuff with parts missing and after you pay 3 times what it worth if it doesnt work you are on your own will not help you in any way. Should be shut down and closed for good .they are a joke .
Nice things for your home. Look there first
This place used to have best deals on their DONATED items. Now theyre asking $250 for a door, $300 for a patio set, $200 for a chest of drawers made of fake wood...... Guess today was my last trip here
The staff was very pleasant, I got nice dryer for a great price. I will go back.
👍
They have almost anything you need if youre remodeling or replacing things in your home from doors to floors at great prices and sometimes even 50% off those great prices....
Much larger and better stocked than the one in Athens. Good selection and good prices.
Very good salvage place to find hard to find items, but you have to watch for process vs you can buy brand new dinner need for the price. Some items are way overpriced
Stuff is okay but most of it is as much or more than just buying something new from Lowes.
Renovate your house while saving money, great variety and selection for second hand goods
Well organized with very helpful staff. Great selection and prices.
I love this place.. Never leave without something in mind to update or try out a new project at my house
Great place to save some money on home repairs items
Enjoy browsing Huge Inventory very reasonable prices
Good deals prices can be good but be aware and make sure new is not as pricey.
Most of the prices here for used stuff was higher than Home Depot. Of course the damaged goods were better priced, but not enough to make buying them worthwhile.
Always find neat things here!
Prices are too high for used and damaged items, better to go to Lowes. Save your time. Some needs to correct this store
Found what we were looking for at a great price.
No help at all just rude
Went to look for some interior doors. Found 1Personnel there were very helpful
Great little thrift shop! Love petting the sweet little kitty.
Its supposed to be a place to help the poor to rebuild there own homes. This location offers the same prices and lowes and home depot. Everything is donated and its ridiculous that they offer no help to the less fortunate.
