Using Applewhite Movers was the best decision we made during our move. The office staff was absolutely amazing while working on my quote and gave me every bit of information I could imagine to set my mind at ease and avoid any surprises. The day of the move, they (Justin, Jules, and Kirk) arrived exactly when they said they would, let me know what to expect, and got to work with speed and professionalism. Fast forward to the end of the day, all our belongings were placed with care in our new home, furniture reassembled, and the cost was less than the quoted price.Odel and his amazing staff are really doing something special here. My property had, had a fire (luckily no one was hurt) and we had to place 7 families in new apartments. I chose Applewhite Movers because they are a local business and close to my move starting point. I moved from an apartment in Huntsville to a house in Hazel Green. The movers were on time, professional, and finished the job quicker than I anticipated saving me money in the process. They didnt charge for the driving time to my starting point like other moving companies charged me in the past and their hourly rate was comparable to the other companies. Everything arrived intact. This was not our first time using Applewhite. We had two huge loads. They worked efficiently, timely and conscientiously and were thorough in wrapping all of our furniture. Nado, Jules, Brendon, and Benji all had great spirits.

From initial contact with URainnah at the office, Applewhite did not disappoint! We had a last-minute change in our move date and she went above and beyond to accommodate our dilemma. She was extremely professional and a bright spot on the other end of the line when were beyond stressed at that point. The movers showed up and showed out. I am still waiting on a call back regarding some damage. If I was allowed to send a review with no stars or 0.5 of a star, that is what I would give them. The guys that showed up were not friendly to me, however changed their tone when dealing with my husband. They played around and wasted time. We were only able to get one trip done due to not receiving the proper size truck. I have two appliances that were damaged even though they were wrapped. The team that was sent seemed to have issues working with one another which leads me to believe that may be why my things were damaged in the process.

They were several hours late due to another issue but they made it right and worked hard to get my POD loaded. I almost had too much stuff but they worked hard to get everything to fit. They wrapped each piece of furniture and loaded with great precision. Very friendly and made up for being late so I could still meet my tight timeframe.

I had a 65inch curved tv that was damaged, theGuy who was trying to rush me off the phone so fast told me that I was one day late filing my claim and that there was nothing that he could do. I didn’t get a sorry, I apologize or anything it was a click and hung up. I only used this company because I personally worked with Applewhite who has perfect work ethic, and I decided to use his family business but Sadly I was wrong. Everybody’s worth ethic and values are not the same. but it’s all good. I’ll take my loss🤷🏽‍♂️🙁

Im not sure how this company has managed to survive so long, their negligence and carelessness had lead to the damaging of my personal property. After admitting that his people had damaged some of my furniture items, the manager(after coming out and seeing the damage first hand) made no attempts to replace/repair any of my belongings. After 3 weeks of minimal contact at best, the manager called and said that he would not replace/repair my items bc I had signed aliability waiver. He refused to take responsibility after being informed that his workers had told both myself and my wife, that they took notes and Photos of some of the damages and would be reporting them to their boss. They lied, they conned, and now I, a Medically Retired Disabled Veteran, am stuck with damaged items that I will have to file a lawsuit for, simply bc this company no integrity whatsoever. I highly recommend that NO Military or Civilian personnel hire this company bc they have no Ethics what so ever!

We used them to move my mother-in-law’s things out of the nursing home when she passed away. There was great communication with the sales office and they helped us right away, but other than that it was not a very good experience. The movers showed up early to the nursing home and the nursing home was not ready. As a result I was charged an additional $77. They were in too big of a hurry and my husband’s aunt said they dumped the dresser off the dolly and were not careful. Nothing was damaged, but things were missing that no one seems to have. There was a big plant that was never delivered and not sure they actually picked it up though it was on the list for pick up. There was a thimble collection that was never delivered though was supposedly in the dresser. None of these missing items were expensive, but were sentimental to the family. Since we had to coordinate this from long distance we were not there to supervise. We feel the price was very high for a local move of a handful of items. I would not use them again.

Made me feel as if it was my fault they broke my mirror. I watched the king sized box spring fall on the mirror laying on the floor of the truck. Antique mirror, so I wanted to keep the frame. Did not apologize. Left glass everywhere. I wasn’t as upset ( even apologized to them for becoming frustrated and using raising my voice) until my poor 3 year old had tiny glass pieces in his hands. Degraded me both to my face and under their breath. They lied to me. Also never told me they scratched up my bedroom furniture in several places. Charged me more than double the original price. Did not listen to me. ( refuse to listen bc one guy is on his phone standing around and another one wears music headphones). It was an easy job, so they could have moved faster. Two guys bubble wrap while one just stands and stares at them. I asked to just use blankets except for the tv (which I helped bubble wrap since the other two were who knows where) and my dining room mirror. Didn’t use blankets. Didn’t wrap the mirror. It was horrible. I would never recommend them. One guy ( with the headphones) was a hard worker and respectful. It was obvious they were just trying to ride the clock and do the least amount of work as possible. The waiver regarding the bubble wrap took over 10 minutes for the guy on the phone all the time to come back with. Claudia, who works in the office is professional, but she also believed the guy who lied to my face over and over. She allowed them to over charge me. Also, I could care less if they smoke weed or drink alcohol on the job...JUST DO YOUR JOB! I heard them joking about getting high before they arrived. They know I heard bc I commented and made a joke in hopes they would at least try to be a little faster and coherent. But, no, instead they were also destructive and degrading. I didn’t insult my of them, just stated the facts. Way to go! Scam and lie and fool and take my hard earned money on Good Friday of all days. Anyways, I barely write reviews. But if I do, it is to give someone a good review. Never have I felt the need to write a bad review. Not sure how the two who were so nasty to me sleep at night. Obvious have poor work ethic. Never mentioned the huge scratches and dents on furniture and told me the mirror broke on the way until realizing I watched the box spring fall while Mr. high as a kite is standing there in la la land and doesn’t have the sense to catch it right in front of him. And cut me down instead of apologizing and preceded to charge me $ 200 extra dollars. Money that was taken out for the babysitter to watch our toddler while we moved. I didn’t have an extra $200. Not writing this to deter people from using this company. Instead, to get this off my chest and hopefully this company will take better care of their customers. Hopefully, their employees don’t wreck and hurt someone while getting high driving the moving truck. I’m done.

I’ve moved 8 times for my job and I’ve never had such professional and genuinely nice movers. Sam and Malik treated my belongings like their own. Not only did they put everything in carefully, but they also packed it so well that I was able to fit much more than I originally thought I could. Thank you Applewhite Movers for your help!!

It took a while for me to get someone on the phone regarding my move but eventually I was contacted by Mr. Applewhite who put me in touch with Claudia who was able to get me scheduled for my move 3 days later! I hired AM to move me from the 2nd to the 3rd floor in my building. When I spoke with Mr. Applewhite initially, I explained that one of my beds are extremely difficult to assemble and that Id hired someone to disassemble and then reassemble after the move. Thankfully, he kindly took it upon himself to take care of it, and for less than what the original person I hired charged. He came prepared with the proper tools/equipment and also educated me on the best type of screws to use given the ones that came with the bed were stripped. The three gentleman that did the move were very friendly and they were able to get everything moved in the time allotted and were gracious enough to set up my other bed. 5 stars all around for your courtesy, kindness, generosity and professionalism. On 11/2/20 Applewhite was hired to provide professional moving services of a household including a generator, washing machine/dryer, refrigerator and a filing cabinet. Upon entrance, I was asked about getting my items bubblewrapped. He then informed me that if that was what I wanted it would cost a whole lot more money because it would take additional time. During the course of the conversation I stated that I didnt need all of my items bubblewrapped, but the property specifically stated that she did not want her newly tiled floors damaged. The mover chuckled before he said No, dont worry we wont damage your floors. We ended that conversation stating that the appliances did need to be bubblewrapped and he then asked me to sign a waiver for the rest. Which I signed with the understanding that my bubbled up items would be covered. Sadly, they did tear up the floor and I have to fix that too.The property manager observed the movers dragging in the refrigerator, and questioned why they were not using the dolly She then asked them about insurance because they were damaging the floors. The younger mover was even overheard asking the older gentleman to stop pushing the refrigerator and to pick it up, but not before tearing up some of the tiling. When it was over I was out $700 to them; $150 for additional moving services; a wheel was missing from my file cabinet; and my 3 bed post was missing. While they did return 2 bed supports they did not replace the file cabinet or fabricate a new bed support (their word) until a complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau. At that time they replaced the file cabinet, and fabricated a bed support that wasnt even the same size nor color of the original; they did not nothing to address the poor customer service, the lack of professionalism, and the additional monies I had to spend to have someone move items that they did not tell me they could not move, and to restack the bins that fell over because they stacked heavier bins of books on top of lighter ones.I paid for 3 workers and one of them stayed on the truck the entire time. I listened to several very long phone calls, I had to remind them that I was paying them by the hour and to keep working, I had to instruct them on how to pack the bins (which they failed to comply) and finally; I had to pay someone else to redo the job that I hired them to do in the first place. In retrospect, there was nothing professional about this experience.

This is our second time using Applewhite Movers and they are extremely professional, hard working, and friendly! Setting up our appointment was easy and Claudia, the office admin, was quick to respond and helpful. Antonio, Jules, and Justin were our 3 movers and they were all fantastic! They worked great as a team and successfully got all of our stuff out from the storage unit and into our new house! We would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for movers!!

They did a great job, even putting our mattresses in plastic protective covers, shrink wrapping and covering all the furniture to keep it safe and clean. Very professional and courteous. Would highly recommend.

Applewhite Movers helped me move from a one bedroom to a three bedroom apt in December 2014. I was amazed at how professional they were from the moment they greeted me at the door. Even though I was a female moving alone, I never felt uncomfortable around the movers. I had 3 men, their truck, and 2 hours to get moved one block away and unload it all to an upstairs apartment and set up the bed. They had it all done with 5 minutes to spare!! I was so impressed with how well they took care of the furniture as to not scratch or ding anything. I have recommended Applewhite Movers to several friends and I am planning on using them again soon! Thank you for doing such a great job!!

I lived in a tricky apartment. But the movers from Applewhite Movers made it seem like non-issue. They tackled the job so professionally and efficiently. Not even one scratch surfaced on any of my items or the walls. I don’t even want to know how they managed to do it. I was just glad my pieces were out of that apartment and on their way to my new place. They reached my new house the following day in great shape. I’m so grateful to them.

Claudia is great but the movers are not good. I had the service a year ago and the movers were great. This team was very slow and did not do a good job. The crib we had they claimed would not fit in the room but we tried after they left and it fit thru the door fine. One of the kids moving plugged his phone in OUR charger that was plugged in the wall.

The lady in the office was wonderful and very helpful. The movers were terrible. One of them dropped my sons bat case on accident (which is fine - accidents happen) but then he proceeded to move it behind a door to hide it. My husband saw the whole thing. We paid extra to have another stop made at our storage unit. We clearly marked EVERYTHING apartment or storage on boxes to make it less confusing for everyone. Well, I go to unpack and almost 75% of our items for the apartment are in storage. So now we will have to pack and move almost everything we paid them to do...We used them before in 2013 and they were great - this time, was terrible. Do not recommend. Even if its a great deal on Groupon.

DO NOT USE!!! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Do not care how good the deal is. They were 3 hours late for a move that had been scheduled one month prior. Excuses - graduation, etc. They had to call in people. So they arent using professional movers? Furniture broken - 2 bedroom dresser mirrors. ONLY took 1/2 of the load. We stopped at the one SCHEDULED stop to pick up Washer/Dryer. They couldnt load the washer as they didnt know how to do it. Get to new house and they leave the feet off the sofa. Scratched hardwood floors. TOPPER: They were supposed to show up 2 days later to finish the job they couldnt do the first day. Tell me they will be there between 8-9 AM. When I called at 9:30 - woman didnt write down the time told to me BY THE PERSON who told me 2 days prior they would be there between 8-9. Then after I CALL them, Im told it will be between 12-1 before they can get there as AGAIN WE have to call in people. Finally 1:38 PM, I get the call they are on their way. NOPE. I had to hire somebody else to finish your job. ONE of the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL services I have ever encountered. I was a repeat customer as they had moved me December 2014 and that was a very positive experience. No longer.I was supposed to be fully moved 2 days ago and 1/2 my stuff still sits in the old location. Have had to take off work due to their negligence and ineptness.Dont know what happened - but DO NOT USE! Only gave 1 star so it would let me post.

Very Impressive! I called Applewhite Movers to have a refrig moved 6 miles from a garage area to kitchen in another house. It was done the very next day and cost us $129. The movers, Noda and TJ, were on-time, kept us posted, polite, and professional. We will definitely will be using Applewhite Movers again; there is no need to call anyone else!!

I have used them several times and they seemed to get worse than better. Very friendly but unprofessional. They send 2 movers that had never done any moving and one had a hurt back so he was worthless. They were on the phone most of the time while trying to pack things up. It took them over 3 hours to pack out 20 items. Scam you into extra hours every single time. The damaged most of the large items and my doorways, I filed a claim and they said they would fix it and never came back. I would never recommend them to anyone.

A phenomenal company that is active in the community. They helped Christmas Charities Year Round at our can-a-thon before Christmas 2018 and undertook the difficult task of transporting a donated forklift to our facility.

Wonderful Company! They helped me move from my house to emerald ridge apartments...they were courteous, and have good customer service...they took extra time to ensure the move went as smooth as possible...the move was done in a timely fashion with no damage furniture...best of all they gave me a good rate that fit my budget!

Applewhite Movers did a great job for us. They called us to let us know when they were 5 minutes out so wed know they were almost there. They worked hard to get the truck loaded - drive to the new house - and then unloaded. All of it within about 4 hours. Of course, it helps if you have EVERYTHING already packed and ready to go. This is the 3rd time weve used them. This is the house my wife and I plan to spend the rest of our lives in but if we have to move again, Applewhite Movers will be the moving company we call!

While Applewhite did a great job with my move, my experience getting them to handle resulting damage has not been great. They have not responded to my calls or emails, didnt respond to a complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau and even removed my post from their Facebook page. Damage happens; its how you handle it that counts. Thus far, Applewhite has failed miserably in that department and I now have no choice but to file a complaint with the Alabama Public Service Commission and see if they will intervene.

By far, the most unprofessoonal service I have ever encountered. We originally scheduled them to be our movers because of the groupon. We asked them if they could pack for us and they said they would send someone over to provide us a quote. They didnt show up for their first appointment. They finally showed up for the second time, then we scheduled a day for them to pack. They didnt show up the first, second and third times we rescheduled. The third time they cancelled because they were out of town. This didnt make sense because they had called us the day before to confirm the time they were supposed to come to our house and pack. My husband and I are unable to pack and move the ourselves for medical reasons. I am convinced they did this to us on purpose. This is a very poor way to run a business and I cant believe they think it is ok to treat people this way. If you cant handle the job, then dont accept the business, it is that simple. I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone I know understands how terrible this business is run. Stay away from these people. They treat you like garbage.
