They have a fantastic selection and variety of wares. If theres something you want they probably have it. But their paint selection was lacking and due to the downtown location it doesnt feel like a welcoming local game shop.
Very friendly staff! Bought some beautiful dice. Went in looking for The Resistance and the employee recommended me the newer updated version, Quest. Always have a pleasant experience here
Really good selection of great board games and nice singles collection. Great atmosphere as well
What an awesome shop. Great service, awesome selection of games, clean, and with a huge space for gaming. Theres a cozy corner with a wide library of games to play. All the makings of a great hub for the local gaming community. Im in town for work, but seeing this makes me seriously jealous of the locals. I wish we had a place like this in my area of South Florida! Will definitely be making this a frequent stop whenever Im in town, and especially for Gen con!
Wonderful and super helpful! definitely recommend!
This store is amazing. Friendly staff and an easy system for finding the products you need make this a great place. Check them out
We used to love coming here, it was my wifes favorite place to go. Unfortunately the last time we were in it was a very frustrating experience. We had our 7 year old and 3 year old with us. My wife and I were wearing mask no problem, the employee working at the time asked us to put masks on our kids. Okay, again no problem. Our 7 year old put one on with no issues but our 3 year old would not keep it on no matter what we tried. The Marion county mask mandate denotes that kids 8 and under are not required to wear masks. Since our 3 year old would not keep her mask on the employee asked us to take her outside. We have been stuck in the house with our two kids for a good portion of the year and needed to get out as a family and this WAS a safe, familiar, spot. It wasnt just the absurdity of the rule requiring a 3-year-old to wear a mask but the extreme lack of sympathy from the employee. He was cold and rude about the entire situation. We will not be returning or supporting their business in any way ever again. It was a frustrating, embarrassing situation. Any one who says oh thats just the business rules, fine if you make stupid rules then you keep losing business. No wonder Amazon keeps getting bigger. Good bye Good Games.**UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE**So sadly it looks like you did not read my review and missed why we were upset and posted a generic response template. The employee we dealt with was VERY rude, we were not whining about the rules being unfair. While I find it silly trying to force a 3 year old to wear a mask, its your business not mine and I respect that. The idea was to get out, look around, and pick some stuff up for us to do as a family. Not drive everyone out just to pick stuff up off the curb. No worries about responding we were able to go somewhere else. Good luck.
Called about a specific game. Said I would be there within 30 minutes. Get there to find a sign the store closed early for the day. Would have been nice to hear that on the phone.
Visited while were in town, and we ended up buying a couple of things. The store was well organized and had a great selection. The guy behind the counter was nice and helpful. We will totally be coming back everytime we visit Indy to check it out for new stuff. I wish we had a game store like this near us in Cincy.
Nice to see a local game store.
This is an awesome shop in downtown. It has everything you could w as not in store and if by chance you dont find it there their online selection is amazing. Also Facebook auctions. Soooo dope.
Cool store, decent prices for the cards. I picked up some Pokémon cards here. The only reason why I’m giving this place a 4 instead of a 5 is because I used their kiosk to add 6 different cards to my cart, but they only ended up having 3 of the ones I wanted. Not sure if it was an inventory problem or organization problem.Update: I must’ve not heard or forgot what the owner told me. The store was great besides that. Well, the kiosk was a little slow but eh. 4 or 5 stars I’m coming back either way.
Great carp shop and game shop ! Went in and was helped swiftly, and they have good policy on pokemon drops . love this shop a hidden gem
Shout out to Scott and Good Games. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Went there to buy/sell Pokémon cards, and I also saw that the store was super clean and organized. They sell singles and everything else Pokémon, Magic, and of course, games. There is plenty of street parking. I highly recommend you stop in with your friends and family.
Cool little game store in the city. I wish they had more D&D stuff though! There were a couple unique finds though and we were happy with our purchase.
The mask requirement is not welcoming, nor does it make me want to visit again.
We really loved visiting this bard game store. We were only in town for a few days but decided we would like to play some games. We saw lots of inventory, plenty of space with tables to play with groups, and a large library of games available to play (free). We were very impressed overall. We bought a couple small games and passed a couple of hours playing there. The space available to play is very clean and large with plenty of tables and chairs. We would definitely visit more often if we had a place like this in our hometown.
Great customer service, and a lot of cool things that I havent seen at many other table top stores.
A lot of fun game options. Friendly staff.
Friendly, fun, helpful service! DEFIANTLY planning to go back asap!
Good selection good people
Told us to put our masks over our noses when we were the only ones in the stores
Love the atmosphere and the staff here. They often have in stock products that no one else in Indy has. It’s such a better experience walking into here than into Game Preserve. Game Preserve is poorly lit and dark but this place is bright and the staff highly personable and helpful.
Good variety and selection. The employees seems to be very friendly and the prices are in line with the hobbies represented. Its worth checking out if you have any interest in card games, board games, mini figures, rpg tabletop games, etc.Bring a few friends and take advantage of the tables they have set up where you can test out most of the games they have for sale, but keep in mind that theyre currently not available due to the coronavirus. On that note, you do currently need to wear a mask inside this business.
Please ignore those questioning the policies of the store. This store has been the best store Ive played at in my 10 years of card and board games. This store is particularly open to all people and willing make sure that the experiences of gaming are enjoyable. The staff is always professional and willing to go the extra mile. I wouldnt trade this store for any other.
They have a nice variety of board games, table top games, and cards. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We werent there for any tournaments or events, but the posted schedule also looked like they have a pretty active rotation throughout the week.
Plenty of internal space for tournaments or board game display & play! Loads of board and card games available, as well as high end puzzles! Great to see use of computer terminal for those who want to look up store inventory on mtg cards! Otherwise parking is a little difficult being downtown, and mtg collection seemed sparce compared to some other stores Ive been to (could have been just the day I was there though).
Great Game Store! Its a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. The biggest selection of Miniatures and paint supplies that Ive seen in years. Impressive collection of games with a focus on fantasy games and tabletop RPGs.
Great selection. Super nice and helpful people
I really like having a game store near work. The staff are friendly and will answer dumb questions without judgment. I have played D&D there and the DM was really nice and helpful. Highly recommend stopping in.
This place is board game heaven! Even if you dont usually like board games, you will love the atmosphere here. The store is very well decorated and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are over twenty tables and every week they host a (free) game night. Good Games also publishes board games, so if you are lucky, you might even get the chance to play a game before it has even been released! This place is amazing and I wish that I lived in Indianapolis just so that I could come to this store over and over again.
Good games has a great atmosphere. The lure color tones in the store really pop. They have a lot of tables and chairs for some great boardgame adventures to be had.I came in with a group fairly well sized group of people (50-60) to play card games and boardgames. The store was very opening. None of the typical sticky tables found here! Each table has a nicely matted play on top of it.
This is so much more than just a store. Its a great place to just hang out and play tabletop games with Your friends. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. For such a small store they have a great variety in games and you can really tell the staff knows what theyre talking about.
First time visit. Chelsea(??) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Prices compared to what I experience in Chicago - which rumor has it they are opening one up there too. Also store was ultra clean and bright. No regrets, everyone should check it out
Very cool store with tons of games and puzzles.
Noah was super helpful walking us through mtg. As first time players, he offered a lot of useful info and his enthusiasm about the game was awesome! We loved talking with him and will be back to chat/play.
Lots of selections. Decent prices. Friendly staff. Everything from pokemon cards and dungeons and dragons to scrabble monopoly and cards against humanity. Cant wait to try out our new games with the kids
Great gaming tables and very welcoming. A lot of games to try out. We found a great first board game for my 3 year old son by trying a few out to gauge his interest.
Huge selection of games. A huge library of games for you to try before you buy.... Plenty of space for the collectable card game players. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Something for the gamer in all of us.
Sounds like Uncle Mike sucks. This store is great. That girl he referred to as surly is sweet and knowledgeable. I always appreciate her assistance when I am looking at games I have never tried. Thanks, young lady!
Very helpful and friendly staff! Great game space!Wish they could get something more than street parking 😥
Nice shop! Nice selection of games, goodies, and other notions. They even had some handmade things for sale from local artisans (homemade dice bags, etc - I bought a cute Porg dicebag ). Decent prices, too. Lots of tables and space if you wanted to play a game right then and there. Friendly and helpful staff. We stopped in during GenCon 2019
Nice place, no parking so youre on your own there
I purchased the game Smash Up - Bigger Geekier Box, fairly impulsively because I heard smash up was a fun game. I didn’t read closely and what I assumed was the base game and an expansion was in fact just a giant card board box with inserts for storing the various versions of Smash Up. Somehow the incompetent clerk did not know this either and even though I made a comment at the register about how “I was getting an extra expansion for only 10 more dollars,” he did not correct me or look at the box. When I tried to return the game for the base game which they had in the store he refused me and offered me a 15% off discount on a purchase. Completely disrespectful policy don’t go to this store!
The game selection is big enough for me to find games I want, and they have plenty of copies of most newer games. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of tables and games available for people to play and have a good time with others. They charge MSRP for their games, though thats no reason to remove stars from the rating.
Good game selection and knowledgeable staff. They have a lot of organized events and have a clearance rack that has some good things on it at a decent mark down
Great place. Lots of room to play and regular tournaments. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Prices were about average. The only downside is no real accessible parking.
First and foremost- Super Friendly Staff! Was greated as we walked in and had a nice conversation. Very clean store with an awesome selection of games.
Love the place, location sucks, so hard to park!
Very good selection of games, and friendly service. Plenty of space to chill and play some games.
Great little game shop with tables in the back for games.
Great store, cool building, nice location. They had a huge selection of board games and collectibles. There was a area to demo board games. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I visited this store during Gen-Con this year and thought the store was really nice. The staff was friendly and were interacting with the customers. The selection at the store was good with many classics and new titles.
Awesome shop! Very friendly!
Loved the place it was nothing like I have at home. Which in my area where I live there is nothing to go to for Pokemon collecters. The prices for sealed products was a little high for my taste but small stores cant mark down like chain stores can. ( One huge plus for this store was its selection of Pokemon singles! ) The prices on the singles are the best I have seen for a small shop. Why Im not giving this store a 5 out of 5 which it could have easily gotten. The service ultimately brought it down to a 4 out of 5 because it blew. Not much effort to help me as I was a new customer and knew nothing about the store. Because I wanted to look at there single cards and the way they did that is on the computer by the counter. So you would get on this computer and look at what they have in stock online. When you have selected your items you would put them in your cart and the worker would go get them for you sounds good right? Wrong... They only have one computer so if you need to look for one card in one set it would take you a bit. You feel rushed and confused as people behind you wait for their turn. Also half of the cards are not even on the website and as I ask more questions the guy kept saying they will be on the computer just keep looking. So I looked and looked finally he started to look and most did not even show on the system. To sum it up it was one of the best small shops I have been to and had great prices for singles. Just dont expect to he wowed by the service.
Really cool place with friendly employees. I get my D&D dice sets from here.
Ive shopped here for small stuff in the past, and it just makes me wish I had time to come in and play an actual board game. Everyones always very friendly. Their selection is intriguing and I always find something that looks fun and creative, making me wish I was retired and had the time to hang out and play.
Went in to buy a game for fun with my family while we visited Inianapolis. As we browsed my daughter needed to go potty. I asked if a potty was available and I was told that while it was available it was for players. Therefore we left to go to one of the other board game shops in town. Who not only let us use their restroom but scored the sale.
Super fun place with a wide variety of games - they do all kinds of weekly groups and events too!
Good size store, mostly board games, cogs and space for miniatures does not have a lot of RPGs in stock.
Favorite game store in Indy. I play D&D with some friends here occasionally and the staff is always friendly and welcoming
I couldnt ask for a cooler group of people. The store has a good selection, and the staff and players that frequent it are all amazing
Good spread of different things. Small shop. Helpful staff.
Decent selection. Zero presentation. Be careful not to accidentally man-splain anything to the surly tattooed cashier. No humor.
Very friendly staff, great service, good selection, nice gaming area, and reasonable pricing with some good discounts. If they had a better system for getting back to customers on inquiries Id have given them five stars hands down!
Great shop, firendly staff. Good selection, i really wish this shop was here in indy when inlived here
A nice place to play and shop but it can be cold, AC is often set to 72-73.Fair warning though: If you decide to make it a regular place to play make sure not to upset anyone, it only takes three complaints (Even if the shop didnt see or hear anything, accusations are enough) over any amount of time to be banned. 5 days or 50 years it wouldnt matter.
Best store around friendly staff and great place for a group to chill
Lovely tabletop gaming shop. Its like a tiny-scale GenCon.
A good variety of games for everyone on your list.
Great store, large gaming space, and great people. Wonderful place!!!
Great game store with well-lit tablespace for gaming. Decent game selection and well located downtown.
Parking is rough, i.e. I shouldnt have to pay to shop at a store. However, the selection is nice and the prices are right. Great gaming area.
Good gaming crowd know what they doing very competitive and yet very professional mannerisms whether theyre winning or losing.. lot of game shops look at you as a noob when you walk into the door not this place itll give you respect and professional courtesy as they wouldnt either other local players my hats off to this gaming committee
Fantastic games and hobby shop. I only wish they had a bigger selection of WH40k items, but I understand theyre not in too high of demand around here so it wouldnt really make sense to do so.
Super deep selection of board games and a great atmosphere to bring your group for any gaming.
FFTCG LQ tourney run super smooth and clean. Staff was incredibly friendly.
Great store and crowd for the Rivals of Ixalan prerelease. Less than great deck, which is not the fault of the proprietors. The chess set deal is outstanding - thanks!
These guys are always pretty great. We come by once a month to make use of their game space. Often well grab up a new card game and/or a bunch of snacks, then well play for a few hours with what we carried in and what we just picked up.Some other reviewers have commented that the staff are a bit inattentive to the customers. I personally find they strike up a good balance: they greet you when you come in and will ask you if you need any help if you look puzzled, but otherwise will leave you be to browse around. Every time Ive had a question or was ready to purchase something, they always drop what theyre doing and help me with what I need without making a fuss about it. Besides, I always love it when I see them take interest in someones tabletop game during periods where there are no customers browsing the store area-it shows they actually have employees that take an interest in their job.
Clean quiet hang out place for game lovers in the heart of Indianapolis!
Very friendly staff a good place to play games and hang out as well as a place to get your gaming needs
Best game store Ive ever been in. Super helpful staff and always have a fun experience in the store. Most definitely my go-to game store.
Very friendly workers, happy and friendly atmosphere. Very chill place to kick back and play tabletop games
Ive spent hours playing board games and role playing games in the back of the store great place to visit when showing people around the city.
Great selection of games and many choices to try in store!
I play in tournaments on the weekend. Good environment and a good store. Stop by and demo some of the games on their demo table
Nice store, good and clean play area, nice staff!!
Great place to meet new people. Plenty of places to sit with friends and family to play all kinds of games.
Great selection, I was in town visiting and stopped in. The gentleman behind the counter was welcoming and the store was clean and organized.
Great place to find a unique board game. Also find many trading card games including magic the gathering
Neat little shop. Seems to mostly be more serious games. I was in the market for silly party games, and left a little disappointed, but it would be great if you’re a serious board gamer.
Great selection, fun and nice staff. In a great place in town and lots of room to sit down and play!
Great place to get some games or sit down at one of their tables and play some games.
