Awesome comic store, if a little small. However, even if it is small if size it is big of heart. The customer service here and the care that the people working here have for their customers is second to none. As a newcomer to comics, I felt out of place in what might be interesting or good to read, but throwing aside my pride I asked questions to them and they answered them all with many good recommendations and care for what I might like. I cannot recommend this store enough.

Friendly local comic shop that has a great selection and the most welcoming staff Ive ever met in a comics shop. Ive never once felt talked down to - which is, sadly, a problem for a lot of women, nb peeps, and younger people getting into comics. Great advice and recommendations for any taste. Lots of single issues for sale along with trades and hardcovers, anthologies, larger collections... a true treasure in Iowa City. :)

Clerk was helpful in picking out a comic book for my ten year old daughter, whos just starting into the comic book world. The shop is well organized and clean. We will be back again.

I dont get there very often. But as a fan of comics and a publisher. Ive never had a bad experience there. Staff are super friendly, very knowledgeable about their business.Very disappointed that the back issues werent there. Was hoping to get some old Micronauts and Rom issues.They have a huge assortment of trade paperbacks and graphic novels.

Ive been to a great number of comic book stores across the country, and this is one of the best there is. The employees were nice, helpful, and extremely talkative leading to good conversation between me and the other customers and regulars in the store. And while they have moved and downsized from their old location, the trade and graphic novels section is still jam packed with the best content comics have to offer. I was particularly a big fan of their writer collection sections, which contain several well organized shelves that have books from certain well known writers, with bios on hand for each of them. Overall, this place just checks all of the boxes and more, and deserves to be heavily supported until the day comics die.

Owner runs a fair and respectable business. COVID-19 precautions are top notch. Will do business again.

My wife and I make it a point to travel 2 hours out of town at least once a month to visit this shop. I personally have had conversations with every staff member that has worked while i visited and have never been treated rudely or blown off, they always answer my questions and respond to messages. I love the back stock its really been a great way for my wife to fill out her Harley Quinn vol 1 collection as well as my various Punisher titles from the 80s. i will continue to support this shop by making my monthly trips and would recommend any other collector do as well, it is a perfect shop for beginning collectors as well as advanced ones.

Poor customer experience. Daydream list an item for sale on eBay for $200. Apparently has interest from potential buyers, increases price to $300. No buyers. Decreases price back to $200. No buyers. If that’s not the very definition of greed I don’t know what is...

Nice comic book store downtown IC. It is clean and well lit. Employees are nice. It’s not huge but most are not in Iowa. Great place to go on date night before dinner.

Clean store, well organized. That is the only good thing about this LCS. No customer service at all! The owner has lost his passion for comics and the culture. He does not even say hello or acknowledge his customers. I am sure he is a busy guy but it takes 2 seconds to say hello to someone.

Always super friendly and helpful! They recognize me right away when I come in and have my comics ready for me to pick up. Theyve helped me plenty of times in finding backorders Im looking for and are always patient with me and whatever crazy book I want. Always have some great recommendations, too, if you dont know what you want to read next! Last visit, my five year old had some questions about a character and the employee came around the counter and helped her find what she was looking for and answered all her questions. made my babys day! She now asks when she can go back to get the next book in the series she likes. Amazing service. Worth every penny to choose them over Amazon. No where online can you find this level of service and familiarity and positive human interaction.

I like this place. They have a ton of new and old books, and lot of graphic novels. The only thing that could make it better is if the owner would raise his up as you enter his store and acknowledge your presence! Many many times he’s too preoccupied to say “hello”.

If youre looking to continuously buy, ask them about their pull list option. They will add titles to a list to be held each month (or however frequently a new issue is released) for you. I love it! I come in and they have my comics ready for me before I even get there.They also have an amazing collection of back issues.Also a very friendly and helpful staff. Knowledgeable about comics and sundry things. Theyll give you the straight dope on what to pick up and what to avoid. Very patient with busy customers who dont check their pull lists as often as they should (cough)

This comic book shop is awesome and filled with really nice people. I know some where the people working there dont engage with you much at all, but this store is awesome at that and has an amazing back issue selection. If youre in Iowa City, you should really check this store out.

Decent place, limited collection, which is fair. The dude working is quiet unless you need help. I prefer that. Its the only place around for comics and I cant complain.

An excellent comic book store. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. The back issue collection is one of the best Ive come across in a store that size. In a town this size Im grateful to have a local comic book shop of this quality.

Awesome selection, great and helpful staff, they also do custom orders if they dont have it in stock. Oh and they do great deals that helps the local animal shelter. Donate 5$ an get a free graphic novel with a real good selection. Also do a lot of buy # and get one free which also helps the animal shelter.

Took my 5 y/o son with me to buy his first comics, he couldnt stop grinning the whole time we were there, we could have spent hours at this place. I will remember it forever!

When it came time to sell my comic book collection I had no idea where to start. Most of my books were bought in the mid to late 80s with some early 90s stuff thrown in, so nothing too rare, as it seems everything was being mass produced then. When I contacted Zach, he could have easily said, Sorry. Not worth my time to go through your books, but he didnt. He explained that they probably didnt have much value now, but the joy we got when we were younger was priceless. I hadnt thought of it like that and it made me feel much better. He then took my big box of comics and over the next week went through them to see what he would be able to use. He also went above and beyond with the two pieces of my collection that would probably be worth something by offering to take them to a huge show in Chicago for grading and signature verification on the one and auction consignment on the other. Zachs communication was always fast, friendly and professional. I cant recommend Daydreams Comics highly enough. If you are ever in the need of some comics..this is your place!!!

Best comic store in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Area. Love visiting. Nice guys that work there. They have no problem bagging and boarding your issues right then and there, unlike Alter Ego.

Great shop especially for trade fans. Big hit against it is a lack of discount for pull lists, but the keep things clean and stay knowledgeable about product.

Ive been going to Daydreams since 1997, and bringing my children there since they were babies. (And Ive made sure that they didnt touch the merchandise until they could do it properly.) Fan-frigging-tastic store, great and knowledgeable staff--seriously, an Iowa City touchstone. Great place.

WORST COMIC STORE .....I know its owned by a comic lover and that is great but what turned me off by this store was that they dont offer trades or in-store credit or even buy comics.... I have been collecting for nearly 30 years and have been to 10s of comic stores all around the United States and NEVER heard of a comic store that does no in store credit,trades or buy comics... it just really vexed me. I normally dont judge others but the guys behind the counter acted like they were better than me and had poor attitudes. I would not give this store $1 of my money nor would I recommend them to anyone including my enemies....Just how I feel....

I put 75 cents in the parking meter and waited at two crosswalks to check out this store, and Im glad I did! As a Bioware fan, I always head straight for the back issues, looking for indie titles that have been out of print for as many as ten years. The selection and organization were so great that I immediately found five issues I didnt have. (The selection of fandom merch was also fantastic and well-organized.)
