I have come to Cargo Eye Care for several years. I often see Dr Cargo but have see Dr Patel a couple times. Both are good. I actually tried to get an ophthalmologist closer to home but they all wanted to charge extra ($45-50) for glasses prescriptions. My appointments are for medical reasons and at Cargo I get my prescription included with my medical eye exam. Cargo has its own marketing methods in that they have an in office eye glasses shop and they up charge you ($39) if you want to use a machine to avoid being dilated. Also there is often a significant wait for appointments, so plan for that (45 minutes this appointment). Still their office is comfortable, the staff is friendly and they have been good over the years, so I recommend them as a better choice than the other options I have found. I gave them 4/5 because of the long wait and the up charge on the machine to avoid dilation.

I had a great 1st appointment at Cargo today and Im sure future visits will be as pleasant. I was able to get what I needed and wanted and sometimes that combination of service does not happen in many places. Everyone was super nice and I felt welcomed. I am big on positive energy and Cargo was an energy match for me. Much appreciated 🙂

Good collection of frames, but we were made to feel UNWELCOME having entered the store 15 min before closing on 9/24. We told them we wont be longer than 5-7 min, but the ladies starting passing comments such as you can come back, you dont have to buy now multiple times.Felt disrespected as a customer, weve all stayed at work 5 min extra many times, but staff here is very unfriendly.Note to management - instead of replying and apologizing for our bad experience, it would be great to train/talk to your staff to treat customers better, so it doesnt happen to the next customer. Thank you!

My husband came into your office for an eye appointment and after multiple attempts to call afterwards about ordering contacts with no response from your office, he ended up ordering them from somewhere else. Today we got a bill in the mail trying to charge us $650. The only thing you guys did was the exam, which is covered by our insurance at 100%. And no agreement was made to purchase them since we never spoke with an office rep. In addition, the bill doesn’t even give an itemized list of what each charge on the bill is for and only has the letter A on each line. We will be calling this week to get this removed, but want everyone to be aware that the communication from your office is very lack luster.

The staff is AMAZING!! The office is clean and comfortable. Dr. Cargo is absolutely wonderful, friendly, and down to earth.Dr. Cargo takes the time to explain everything in easy to follow terms and does a quick and thorough exam. Dont think twice about getting an appointment with Cargo Eye Care.

My visit to Cargo Eye Care of Las Colinas was very professional I was greeted immediately on arrival. The eye exam was comprehensive and detailed, the staff person who assisted through the examination was very friendly. They explained each step of the exam. I would recommend them they took very good care of me.

Before I get to the bad stuff, I will say this optometrist is really nice and I love the prescription I received from them. If I hadn’t experienced the following events, I would have given them five stars.So before my appointment, I received a call letting me know my eye exam would not be covered by my insurance (which is strange because I found this doctor on my insurance’s find-a-doctor website). I did call and check with my insurance company for whether or not I have vision insurance and apparently I do not have a vision plan. I told Cargo Eye Care that would be fine and I could pay out of pocket. All would be good until a few weeks after my exam, I notice a medical claim on my insurance’s website for Cargo Eye Care, covering the full cost of my exam. I call my insurance and confirm that the entire cost of the exam was covered and I should not have had to pay out of pocket, to which they told me yes, they covered the entire exam. I called Cargo Eye Care and getting the money I paid out of pocket returned was a pleasant experience and I received a check in the mail very quickly. However, I believe it is rather disingenuous for them to have told me my insurance would not cover the exam and then bill my insurance anyways without notifying me of this change. A simple phone call telling me, “Hey, it looks like your insurance was able to cover the exam after all, we will return the money you paid out of pocket.” or something. The fact that I had to discover on my own accord that this optometrist had double-dipped in billing and chose not to notify me is upsetting. Perhaps they didn’t notice, but I still feel like even as an oversight this is a bad mark.Overall, nice people, good experience with services (eye exam), the double-charging seems a little shady, but I was able to get my money back hassle-free. I hope they are able to solve whatever may be going on with their billing so this does not happen to anyone else in the future, because other than that, this optometrist is lovely.

I LOVE this place. Dr Cargo was EXCELLENT!! You can tell he really cares for his patients, and the lady who helped me out pickup my glasses was very helpful and sweet. I think her name is Joanne... maybe!?🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, everyone was very kind/sweet. Thats why I always go to Cargo Eye Care. I highly recommend this place.

I have been a client of Dr. Cargo for almost 20 years. He is very up front on what is best for me and I trust his advice. Now my daughter is his client. Where there are eye doctors that have children wear glasses that have had no issues, Dr. Cargo is very excited to inform his clients that there is no need for glasses or changes to eye prescriptions! Also Dr. Patel is great too. She helped me when she was a student and is now a Dr. at his clinic. Also the senior associate staff have helped me for years, so it is exciting to see that they are still happy working there! Overall, I am happy and my hour drive to get my eyes checked is so worth it! Thanks Dr. Cargo and and team and also keeping it safe during Covid. JP

We had an appointment for both my son and spouse, but DR was not availble during the appointment, we were told to reschedule after going to office. arent we suppoosed to get a call or message when cancelling? we were rescheduled to later week, this time they forgot to do book for my son. Poor service and no courtesy from Ashley. We, whole family going here from past 3 years. Not anymore.

Took over 3 weeks, delayed my glasses to the point where they had to refund me. Waited for nothing. Then they gave me a 3 year old prescription when I asked them to print me out my prescription.Never will go back to this place.Update* they charged my insurance after they cancelled my order, they truly are a scummy place. Ok, I have been coming to Dr Cargo now for over 10 years.Called today as I had issues with my.new glasses in the distance vision.Spoke to piper and was put on hold for 10.mins and never came back to the phone.I hung up and called back and spoke to Nicholas and told him was was going on and he told me to just at thisnpoint bring them in for a refund. There was nothing they good do to assist me further and that I could go buy glasses some place else. I asked to talk to Dr Cargo and was told he was out this week and Id have to wait. I asked if there was someone else in charge and he said no.I paid 500.00 for my glasses and to be treated like this is unexceptable. This is just bad service. Dr Cargo has been wonderful to work with. Its some of the staff that are rude as hell at times. Its indicative that an overhaul is needed. Will be taking my business elsewhere going forward. This is just bad service.  :-(

I’m visiting cargo eye care las colinas for last 3+ years for the regular eye checkup. My insurance doesnt cover retina test but general eye checkup only. However they mandated the retina test saying it is part of comprehensive test now and cant go with eye test if i dont agree to it. Though i’ve done retina test for last 3 yrs when its optional and don’t need this year, they arent ready to agree to it. This retina test is optional until last year with cargo eyecare.Turn out to be money minded with unnecessary test.

I’ve been coming here for years. They have the best customer service. Dr. Cargo is very thorough and knowledgeable. I love their optometry technician. She’s excellent at helping me pick out frames and lens. I can’t thank them enough for all that they do!

Update: constant follow up but no response and I have a eye spasm issue that the specialist is aware of. Office admin took my call Monday morning and its Friday evening. Called Friday, no response still. This, my reason of changing my review.Old review:I have been a patient with Cargo Eye Care for quite some and so is my family. I was looking for a new eye doctor for my kids. Someone on the Carrollton Moms FB group page mentioned you guys. I called before they were opened but I was automatically text back informing me they would call me back during opening hours. I went in with my 5 and 6 year old. They did amazing. The assistant was very patient and explained everything to my kids. She made them feel very comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Patel did their exam. She is very patient and sweet to the kids. One is in prek and knows his ABCs in Spanish. So they had numbers and pictures for him to still have an accurate reading. Blake helped us understand our insurance benefits and was very patient with my kids picking out frames. We had about 15 on the table. So very wide variety in kids frames. I am very impressed and happy with this office. I myself will be coming here soon. Very kid friendly!! Thank you for taking care of us from beginning to end!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dr. Patel is AMAZING for both my 6 year old son and myself. Absolutely fabulous.⭐⭐⭐ Due to a breakdown in communication my sons glasses took a lot longer than expected. They did their best to resolve this issue quickly.

The Eye doctor is really good. Have been going there. But the staff person Denise was not good. She kept rolling her eyes when I was asking questions about the insurance coverage on the lens and the frames. She didn’t want to answer any of the questions. I hopeDr cargo takes care of the situation. I really like Dr cargo.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS!! The staff of ladies out front are super rude and lack any tact whatsoever. One of them mentioned insurance fraud in an accusatory manner and was somewhat impatient when it came to the paying and ordering process. We were also told that our prescription was only good for a specific pair of lenses, which is false! Dont waste your money here, people.

I’ve been a patient for 2 years now and have been pleased. They are very thorough and have a great selection of glasses. My daughter has been a patient for a year and she’s 4, they were great with finding her prescription and they have a great selection of kid glasses.

Went in for an exam to renew my contacts and glasses prescription and was very impressed! COVID precautions were followed throughout the entire visit. Front office staff were friendly. I was in and out quickly, very little wait. Dr. Patel was also very pleasant and kind.

Not satisfied. They didn’t even ask us or take over consent before doing the eye scanning or examination for which insurance is not covered and They said the dilation and eye scan is not covered in the insurance at the checkout and charged for it. Very very unprofessional. They scanned the eyes without using the drops for dilation of the eyes and said due to COVID situation they are not dilating. The lady who was explaining the charges for frames & glasses was rude & impatient when asked question. Looking all this I cancelled my another 2 appointment. Before going for the test check with them what all examinations are covered by your insurance and what is the co- pay and what you need to pay.

I had a great experience at Cargo Eye Care. I had a eye/contact lenses exam. I also ended up purchasing some new sunglasses and eyeglasses. I actually had an exam after 2 years. I saw Dr. Patel and she was very thorough and helpful. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Everyone was very friendly, professional, and efficient. My insurance benefits and payments were explained thoroughly and I left feeling taken care of! Dr. Cargo suggested a new lens that would be more comfortable and affordable. I especially appreciated that they were able to have my contact lenses shipped to me. At my previous doctor, I had to go back and pick them up. It was easy to book my appointment online too!

Edit: 02/01/2021 (Based on my recent visit on12/29/2020)I and my wife have been patients with Dr. Cargo since the last 3 years and have always felt great about our experience with our annual check-ups and ordering prescription glasses/sunglasses. But unfortunately this time (12/29), I am writing to express my disappointment with the prescription sunglasses order that we had placed on Dec 29th. We were asked to wait for 2 weeks to get our glasses.I called in the 2nd week of January to inquire about mine and my wifes prescription sunglasses order status, where I was informed that my glasses were ready but my wifes sunglasses were not due to delay in the Lab because of prescription issues and something else with the lenses. I followed up in the 3rd week since I was told it would be ready by then, but again I was provided with the same update as above. Last week again the same story repeated and I was asked to wait until today (02/01). I even sent an email to Dr. Cargos mailbox to express my disappointment, (edit) and he personally reached out to me today to assure about my order.Today I thought I should post this review here because I was again given the same update for the glasses and I am being asked to wait another one week. I dont want to blame any of the staff here, but I believe that there should be someone keeping a track of this and understand customers frustration. Hoping to get an update from the team and get the prescription sunglasses as soon as possible.Thanks=========Below feedback based on experience last year========Good and professional at the same time. Dr Cargo and his team would always make sure that you get the best treatment and recommend products that are suitable for you. Be very careful. I called three times to confirm the amount of the copayment of the visit after I gave all the information of my insurance. However, when I reached the clinic my copayment has increased about eight times! it seemed that their call center ignores their policies and are responsible only for assuring people that everything will be OK! NOT FAIRIn addition, their staff are RUDE.

My Husband was in Texas on a business trip and woke up unable to open one eye due to an infection. Blake promptly made an appointment for him and was very professional, friendly and courteous. I absolutely love Dr. Cargo and his team. They have made my experience warm and welcoming.My son has Down Syndrome, and I thought the experience was going to be rough, but they made my son feel very comfortable. Although Matthew could not complete most of the eye tests, they were quick to help with what he could do. This made me feel very happy! Made an appointment for a routine eye exam and I received a text message that my copay would be $39. My insurance covers 100% so I called them immediately to ask about this. The lady said they charge $39 for a retinal exam. I told her I wanted to opt out and she said it’s not optional and I HAD to pay for it. CANCELED my appointment immediately!!!

Ive been going to Dr. Cargo for several years now and have always had great service. Appointments are easy to request and schedule online or via phone and I havent had to wait too long for any of my or my childrens appointments when we arrive. Good selection of frames in the office and the staff really know their stuff when helping you make a selection.

If you question them The lady at the front desk who does billing and process your orders asks you to read the information by handing over information. Very disrespectful. Appointments were easy to schedule, and the staff both courteous and very professional. We especially appreciated the attention to preventing COVID-19 by requiring masks and cleaning rooms and equipment between every patient. Solid selection of glasses to choose from. We would go back without hesitation.

From start to finish this was a refreshing experience. I have never liked going to the eye doctor and today has changed my whole outlook! The staff is welcoming and warm from the time you walk in to leaving. Darcy initially helped and answered all questions i had, she seemed to really care about ME and addressing any concerns i had. Her communication and personality made it all so easy, you could really tell she is passionate about what she does and takes pride in her work and customers. Dr. Reena Patel was remarkable and was very attentive and focused on finding a prescription that would work best for me. Denise was assisting her and had great recommendations for contact lenses. Now picking out the eye wear was my favorite! Samantha, Blake and Darcy took their time to help me find the right pair, from 8 options to the perfect one they gave me there honest opinions and didn’t push or pressure me into buying something expensive. I am so happy i went out on a limb to try this office because they are my forever eye care team. Thoroughly impressed and shocked i haven’t been here sooner. You will not regret it!

I love going to Cargo Eye Care!!! Since I have CHIP insurance, there’s not a lot of eye care places that I can go to and actually be able to afford the glasses or exams. Cargo Eye Care is excellent in that their staff is super friendly and well experienced, they accept CHIP insurance, and they’re not too pricey!! I have been going to this eye care place for about a year now, and I’ve had the greatest experience with Dr. Samin. So, if you want to go to an eye care center that’s affordable, accepts CHIP insurance, and has great experienced staff, Cargo Eye Care is the place to choose!!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Cargo, I was desperate to find a solution to my vision because I have a special case, I checked with an eye specialist in VA EYE HOSPITAL for 3 months without getting any solution or a right measurement to my left eye unlike Dr. Cargo who found my left eye lens measurement and I am so happy now,the staff is wonderful too and friendly.

They were great! Was able to get an appointment on short notice. The technicians were on point and very nice walking me through the various tests. The office is clean and incredibly upfront about all costs so there’s nothing unexpected at the end! The doctor was great, she took her time ensuring I felt comfortable with the prescription and choices. When I purchased glasses they literally let me try on everything and take time finding my new frames. It was a great experience and I look forward to calling this office our family eye doctor!

From start to finish, my daughter and I received stellar service here. Darcy at the front desk is warm, courteous, and helpful - that initial interaction really set the tone for the rest of the appointment. Taina was our tech and took excellent care of us. She was great with my 6 year old daughter and was very patient as she helped allay some anxiety. Dr. Patel was efficient and quick to answer my questions. Joanna and Lindsay were great as well - they patiently helped us pick out frames and made it a painless process. The office itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. Well definitely be back.

I switched last year to Cargo Eye Care and had a good experience, but this year was even better. I saw Dr. Samin and she was wonderful. She even made sure we did a couple of extra tests due to a medication that I take. I felt she really went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything! Staff is super friendly as well!

Friendly staff and doctor. They took the time to explain what all the diagnostic machines did. Dr. Cargo also explained what types of vision correction I needed, and why. After the exam, another employee helped me pick out frames. She listened to my likes and dislikes, and was able to quickly help me narrow down my selection. My entire visit from start to finish only took about an hour.

First thing Cargo Eye Care is awesome, why do I say this. Well today September 13, 2019 I had a doctors appointment around the corner from Cargo Eye Care that was at 10am due to circumstances out of my control I was sitting in front of doctors office at 7:15am almost 3 hours early. They couldn’t see me before 10, so I just sat there, to far to drive back home. I thought I’m way over due for my eye appointment (2 1/2 years😔) but I don’t have an appointment. I took a chance went in and the nice young lady didn’t hesitate to except me without the appointment and they had me out in time for me to get to my 10 am👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Now a real good friend of mine has made appointment to see the AWESOME Dr. Cargo and his BEAUTIFUL staff 🤗🤗🤗Thank you guys!L Kelley

As a new patient, I was very apprehensive. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and professional. My plethora of questions were patiently answered...and I never saw an exasperated eyeroll. Dr. Patel is so professional. My heart goes out to her, because she has acquired a very demanding customer who will become her favorite patient. Im just saying...

My visit was quick, easy, and safe. I just moved to Irving a few months ago and was nervous about leaving my optometrist but Dr. Patel and the staff took care of me in a snap.

The entire team at Cargo are bright and efficient. They make the process very easy. Prices are competitive, but not cheap. Expect a quality product as the end result.

Worst possible experience ever. I went in on a Monday, spoke to a girl at the front desk and was told my eye exam would be 174.00 OOP if I had no insurance at all. Found my insurance, they verified it, it shows a 10.00 copay and because they were having system issues, they were going to make me pay out of pocket. To top it off, I was there only for contacts. So they were going to charge me over 200 for a routine eye exam and a contact lens exam. Again, without trying to bill insurance. I work next door to these people. Out of convenience I went there on my lunch break. The fact that they wont work with you, they have the insurance information in front of them and wouldnt submit to the company tells me they see to be out for money. Plus they overcharge for their contacts. ALL of this would have been included in my 10.00 if they would have billed it. But according to the little miss at the front desk, she couldnt file the claim. Left super irritated and will never walk back in. :)

It was my first time today and they definitely know how to treat a patient, they have exceptional customer service and are extremely clean! They have the best equipment and the best staff. Their prices are also great. No doubts this will be my new doctor!

Late review but Dr Cargo was great!! I suffer from dry eyes and he recommended some great eye drops that work great. My son and I have been coming for about 3+ years and everyone is always very friendly. They helped my son with his astigmatism and his vision with his new glasses has improved. Ive recommended then to many of my friends at Ford. Keep up the outstanding work. See you next year for our next appointment.

Everyone at this place are very kind and helpful. You can get the best pair of glasses prescription. Variety of glasses for all ages. Everything is well organized and high quality. You can also find very nice sunglasses at good rates. I take all my children here and they work professionally

This is my third visit to see Dr. Cargo. The second time Ive had my eyes examined. The Doctors and Staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs and take time to answer all of your questions thoroughly throughout the visit. Terrific group of people! Always helpful. I’ve been coming here for seven years and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else! Dr. Jonathan Cargo is the best I’ve had in over 40 years, always appreciate his approach, friendliness and advice. Was back again yesterday: Phyllis was super going through the exams, Meredith was especially helpful and fun in helping me choose some new glasses, given the wide array of choices! Dr. Cargo was, of course, as gracious and prudent in his recommendations as he always is. Cargo Eye Care - no better place to go - for service and eye care!

This appointment was for my mom, I don’t live close to her so being able to book and actually do it in the same day was super helpful. As soon as we walked in the young lady at the front desk knew who we were and had everything ready (thank goodness for the online forms access) she was quickly called in and the nurse was able to stay with my mom and translate for her as I got to wait in the waiting area with my daughter. The kids area was super cool my daughter played the entire time. Once my mom got done and came out to look for her glasses from the fabulous selections. Everything was explained to her again (front desk gave us a sheet with that the insurance covers) my mom found the perfect pair and between myself and her nurse we found the glasses shape size and color that fit her perfectly. #TeamworkMy moms glasses were at least 7-10 years old and I can’t tell you how happy she is.

Staff needs to read up on customers insurance before helping them pick out glasses. There were certain perks my insurance gives and she never told me about them I had to ask then she would look and be like oh you are right. Then I asked about my lens she tells me no your insurance doesn’t pay for that I asked her to please check because of course I know she didn’t read up and she is wrong. Then she goes oh yea they do. I then made the statement I want everything I mean everything my insurance pays for. She probably could have made a better sale off of me but since she didn’t seem to be interested in giving me great customer service I just went with whatever glasses. I pray and hope my glasses come back right

Dr. Cargo and his team are incredible. Ive been going here for a couple years now and have no complaints. I never have to wait for my appointment and the front desk staff is always super friendly. Would highly recommend.

Overall, I had excellent experience with Cargo Eye Care of Las Colinas. I would like to thanks all team members of this organization for providing us service in our area. During my visit:- No Waiting-All the staffs were very nice and helpful- Receptionist greets me and gave details instructions to fill required forms-Assistant was very polite and passionate about her work. She helped me to follow up process smoothly-Dr Reena Patel did her work awesome. She is also one of the reason for me to became returning customers at Cargo Eye Care. I had bad experience with one of the Eye Dr who prescribed me wrong power of glasses so Dr Reena is the one who helped me to solve my eye issues. She explained each examination results throughly.-Other staffs are also awesome. They helped me to select frame and they have various brand of glasses- They provided me file that explain the results in more details- Inside room temperature was normal- Restroom was super clean-Enough space and chairs to sit down while waiting-Friendly environmentI would definitely recommend once to visit Cargo Eye Care at Las Colinas and you will find differences.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Cargos for years. Hes always taken great care of me and my eyes. Dr. Cargo takes his time with his patients, and his staff is always knowledgeable, efficient, and super helpful. Joanna has help me pick out every pair of frames Ive used for the past decade - and I trust her opinion on my glasses more than most people! Ive recommended them to multiple people.

Always a wonderful experience when I bring my children to Cargo Eye Care. All five of my children have seen Dr. Cargo for a long while and we love him. Last week when I brought my daughter in we had the pleasure of meeting and seeing Dr. Patel for our visit and she is wonderful. The staff at Cargo Eye Care is great! I love the Medical Assistants.
