I was there for the last day of the fall book sale. Purchased many books @ ten cents each. They were slightly more expensive earlier in the sale. Amazing opportunity to get books on almost any topic.

Amazing Sale. We went on day at the end of the book sale. The comic book section was empty, but we still found tons of books!!!! We bought 48 books, for $4.80!!! The Childrens Section was just great. We are so glad we went!!! I highly recommend going to the book sale. Leave yourself plenty of time for all of the wonderful sections to browse through

Love, love, love this sale!! The selection is fantastic, very varied and rich. Were always excited to come and have told lots of friends about it who come from out of town to feast on the books, CDs, DVDs, sheet music, childrens books, and so much more. Its also very well organized, both in terms of book categories and in terms of staff and checkout. Best book sale ever!!

Be sure to check the length of the line before you go. We went on a Sunday morning the second weekend. There was a wait.Book selection is good. Theres something for everyone.

This is an awesome book sale! We bought almost 70 books for 20 dollars. It was well worth the wait and very organized. If I continue homeschooling, this will be a yearly must!

Look forward to the sale every year. Fantastic prices, progressively decrease daily as the sale days go on. Set up easy, categorized in library fashion. A readers paradise!

This place is amazing!!!! Cannot recommend enough. We got 50 books for right around $100. I wish everyone knew about this and got to experience it.

We came to the Finger Lakes for our anniversary weekend and happened to stumble upon this book sale. It was the best part of our trip! My husband and I spent over an hour browsing and choosing books. Everything was well-organized and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to start digging into all of my finds!

This sale is one of the highlights of the year. They have everything! I never have to buy new books again if that’s what I want.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK SALE!!!! When I get a new calendar its the first thing I look up and mark down. I have found literally hundreds of really good books and at prices that are unbelievable. Imo the best day is the second to last. Its dime day; every book, every single book is only ten cents. I have literally cleared entire sections. And the best book I have ever read (so far) I found there. If you are a proud reader and book aficionado then this is a must go. After one trip, you will be hooked as well!!!!

Best bargain scene in Ithaca.

A little overwhelming the first time. Maps available. Be patient, lines to get in do form. However, they limit the number of people inside at once, thus the line, to make browsing through the 10,000+ more relaxed. Take the bag they offer when you go in, youll need it.

If youre a reader, whether a casual one or a die-hard ink-drinker, this is the place to get your books. Too bad its only twice a year.On the other hand, finding good books is a bit like gambling. On the first days of the sale, the books are overpriced (they justify this by complaining how book dealers buy all the good books and resell at even higher prices, and happily point out that the high prices dont stop people from buying). Toward the end of the sale, when books are cheap, the good stuff is gone, gone, gone.Pricing aside, this organization and its twice-a-year events are a true treasure.

Good selection of books. Big lines today, but also great prices. Time commitment if you want to get through everything.

Always walk away with a ton of books for next to nothing. Its always crowded and takes a while to get through the checkout but it is well worth it. Books range from around $3 for hardcover at the beginning weekend to filling a shopping bag for $1 with whatever you want on the last day. Go here if you love books!

Such a great experience while visiting Ithaca! Picked up a whole bunch of cookbooks and foreign language books for next to nothing. The volunteers were all really helpful too.

Really cool book sale warehouse. The modern issue is you will be overrun by re-sellers with their book scanners or smartphones that just go in and scan every book they think they can turn for a profit. It would be great if they could curb this activity so everyone can get a reasonably priced book in their hands.

The lady at the rare books room was really nice.

I try to go to the sales as often as I can... Im sure others have covered the format; 3 weekends, first is the most expensive with the most expensive items still under $5, and the last weekend books are basically free (but the selection is much depleted). I always find something, and the fun of the hunt is enjoyable. The inventory is quite good if you get in on the first wave of opening day, but you usually need to be there about 1.5-2 hours before opening.

We LOVE this twice a year booksale!! Sooo much to choose from..antique/rare books record albums,games, puzzles galore! Very reasonable prices and each day they lower the price! My favorite part of Ithaca!

Its an event and one of the biggest used book sales in the country. crowdeeearly in the day, the crowd thins out by afternoon. Later weekends the books get cheaper.
