This place is a joke. I scheduled an appointment ahead of time to get an alignment done. I got there 30 around 10 am minutes before my appointment and the manager asked me to leave it. I just came to pick it up 4 33 pm and didnt even touch my car. I was still park in the same spot. I was calling and calling to ask about my car before I came to pick it up and nobody answer. This is ridiculous!!! The guy didnt even ask me to reschedule or did no show any customer service at all. Better go to Firestone next door I regret I didnt 😤.
When I woke up yesterday I had a tire issue according to my computer and I went to several different tire places who refused to give me the immediate service I needed,after a long day of frustration I pulled into this location as a last ditch effort and a young gentlemanby the name of Vance went out of his way at closing time to help me with my tire when most people at closing time would have snubbed their nose at me. Id like to just say thank you again Vance for all of your help this evening and not only for helping me but also for your nice smile and kindness you showed me when all of the other places I went to for help were rude . It isnt everyday we experience this type of customer service and great attitude even at closing time so I wanted to reach out and say how much you are appreciated! I will definitely be back.
I took my wife’s car here to get a conventional oil change. Only 3 weeks from getting the car serviced. My wife car cuts off while driving due to a missing cap one of her car parts connected to the engine. The cap was on before we took it to Pepboy’s. It almost caused her to get in a bad accident. No one has been under her car hood since the oil change. Somehow the piece to the car part goes missing. I would just stay away from this place

80 dollars for them to do a diagnostic on my A/C. They say “nothings wrong so we charged your Freon and it’s blowing cold” and hand me my keys. 3 minutes down the road hot air is blowing in my face LOL. Don’t waste your money.
I came limping into Pep Boys near closing time after having had a blow out on the interstate and had another 5 hours of driving ahead of me to make it home. I knew the spare wasnt going to get me home. Jamaal and the area district manager Ken went above and beyond to help me out and get me back on the road with new tire installed on a Saturday evening. They were total pros and I will forever be indebted to them for their selflessness and willingness to help me out when I was in a tight spot. They truly demonstrated exceptional customer service!

In this economy its hard to find workers to staff your business and today they didnt let that stop them at Pep Boys. The mechanic assigned to my vehicle was juggling 2 cars to make sure me and/or the other customer would get our cars serviced in that time slot as expected. Thank you Pep Boys

Made an online appointment for 3pm. 4 new tires and an oil change. Show up the girl at the front desk was very nice. Checked my tire size and then came back and asked for my keys. Didn’t tell me what tires she was putting on or the price. So I asked. She said starfire tires, it’s the only tires we have in stock for your car. She then tells me 2 hours roughly. So I go to the waiting room and my boyfriend comes to pick me up. So I go to the front desk to ask if they can just call me when my car is done. When I go to the front desk she tells me that my car is done. “Oil change tire rotation and one new tire right?” I said oil change and 4 new tires! She says ok I’ll call you when it’s done. One hour later at 5pm I get a call that they don’t have my tires in stock! So I wasted two hours with them when they could have just told me when I came in. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I would advise anyone to avoid this place like the plague due to their terrible parts and service personnel!. There’s this One elderly lady at the service desk department who was absolutely rude and had an attitude for no reason at all. She had a very Unfriendly demeanor about her, and not to mention her unprofessional customer service skills. So before she Sends me to the parts checkout counter, i clearly informed her that i would like to purchase and set up an install appointment but she said “oh that man over there can help you”. Of course, the other gentleman tells me to go back because he only checks out items and doesnt set up installs. I go back to her and she acts as if nothing happened, “when would you like to set up your appointment?”. I will not be coming back to this location. Management, you need to get rid of that woman asap if you want to salvage your reputation for this location.

I should have read the reviews but it was close to the house. Thats the only convenient thing about this store. Set an appointment for 8am, we arrived early and were the first car there. Took 30minutes to pull car in to Bay after I grabbed the keys to leave. Another 30minutes for them to install a battery. The tech is just walking around. The customer service guy just walks around. All they had to do was plug it in to the machine. When they finally came to say it just needed a battery they tried to sell me tires, brake fluid flushed and refilled, new struts new shocks and new wiper blades- fool I just put on new wiper blades 1 month ago. Save your self time and frustration and use any other shop than this one. Took an hour and a half just for system check and to get a battery installed and we were first and only car there. Stay away unless you have nothing better to do.

I tried using the online feature to make an appointment again for this location thinking maybe it was just the location on baymeadows that was terrible, but no again I was burned. Rushed to get to my 2:00 appointment I set early yesterday before our trip and was told Im sorry we dont show an appointment. Even though I showed the associate my email confirmation clearly showing the time, location, and date of my appointment with them. He said he was short handed and could reschedule, and I chose to leave instead. I will no longer use pep boys for anything and would strongly advise any potential customers who value their time and effort to do the same.

I really no was stars were an option. I went to them many times before this and its seemed ok. This last time was terrible. I let them do a diagnostic test. I got fixed everything they reccomended and my car still drives the same. Then in the process of fixing the reccomended maintenance, they damaged my motor. Then didnt even tell us until after they fixed for free. I keep trying to take my car nack there and keep getting the runaround. I even called customet service and got no where. 2 minths later my car still mot the same, but worse.
I arrived 10 minutes before closing carrying in my unchangeable car battery. After a few minutes on the store charger it leaked all over the counter. My bad, I had previously filled it to the brim with water in my final, desperate attempt to charge it at home. Anyhow, the store manager (also my bad for not catching his name, just smiled and never once made me feel bad about causing the mess. He took care of it and then retrieved my old purchase record to verify the battery was still (but barely) under warranty. I had no idea myself. What a pleasant visit i had. I remain a long and faithful customer to the Lane Ave store.

Strictly based on customer service in the service and car rental department, so this does not relate to the retail employees. Every time I go the employees are not friendly or helpful. I was recommended by my mom to come here as she always got good service, however I have not. I went out of my way to come here and after waiting around I left having not received assistance. I went to Good Year downtown and they helped me immediately.
My husband likes this place I just go along for the ride. Staff are great and very helpful. Store is nice just the entrance seems a little dated and dingy. Prices are fair and customer service is the best in Lakeland

I walk into Pep boys and waited at the counter for help and there employees was talking on the phone and walking bye like no one was there, which left a bad vibe form the beginning, but I continued the process of getting my car fix. Later after they fix my car and told me that they dont see any other issues which I had paid them to check for; But a few days later my radiator started leaking and I took it to them again and they gave me a list of things that needed fixing, which is a big red flag for me. Because my car did not actually need those things, and plus they tried to over price me several times, but I was able get my car fix at a more professional, courteous, and less expensive place where they fix your automobile right the first time and value there customers. I would not recommend this place to anyone Unless you have a lot of money to burn🔥. I can only pray for them and forgive them now.

My Toyota has a fuse box under the steering wheel. I initially bought a mini fuse. It was wrong. Had to exchange it for a low profile fuse. The cashier was very pleasant. A man out of the service center got on his knees and took it out for free for me...I could not get the thing out! I appreciate them so much! (Phone charger fuse)
They stayed open late to help change my battery. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Ill definitely go back

We initially purchased a set of tires from them and upon our return there was an extreme lack of effort and customer care during this tire purchasing decision. We then went to a competitor around the corner only to find out that PEP BOYS put the WRONG size tires (4) on the car during the previous purchase just to maintain the sale. This explains why the tires needed to be replaced so quickly. I wish we could give ZERO stars.
Great place to get some hard to find parts, customer service is always friendly and willing to help. Their website leaves a lot to be desire and is very cumbersome to use. In most cases it is just better to call and ask for the part that you need although their phone menu needs improvement as well. This location does appear to be understaffed as well. Over all I gave it four out of five stars because they do typically have the part you need and the customer service is good once you get ahold of someone.
This past Christmas, my car decided to throw a rod. My insurances roadside assistance towed my car. This Pep Boys was the closest place to drop off. I found an envelope, put my key in it, and wrote my contact information on it and placed it in the overnight drop. Surprisingly, I received a call from Debbie the next day. She stated that they could not fix my car there due to the rod. I explained my poor financial situation at the time, and I told her I would get it moved as soon as possible. I called weekly and spoke with Debby or in her stead, Jenny. Debby calls me, telling me that I have to move it by the following Friday because she was being told by her supervisors that it had been a while. (My car wasnt the only one, nor had it been there the longest.). I was able to finally get it towed that Friday to finally get it fixed. After repairs, I drove to Pep Boys to thank these two wonderful ladies in person. Im so thankful that these ladies stood up for me in that I live fifty miles away from Jacksonville and was only able to speak to them by phone. My car was creating a shadow on their parking lot for almost an entire month. Most places would have had it towed away within a week. Thank you very much, Debby and Jenny.
Terrible experience .... customer service was kind, but they tired to charge me for the service of installation even after I told them and showed them amazon included in the price installation... After he showed me the computer it showed that pep boys online had registered my truck for a camaro, weird. Sat in waiting room for 2 and half hours waiting for tires to be replaced on truck. About an hour in they told me they tire balancer had stopped working and they had to bring someone in to finish the job. After about an hour of waiting a person finally came to finish the job and they told me I had to go to another store tomorrow morning because it was already so late and I wouldnt make it to the other store at that point to get my tires fully balanced. They also broke my TPS sensor in my tire as well and told me that it would go off after driving it for a few miles.... It still has not...... Do yourself a favor. Dont go here......
Jennifer was a lifesaver. I was on a trip from Atlanta passing through Jacksonville. It was just a few minutes before closing and my family and I pulled up with an oil leak. Jennifer was already backed up, but she took care of us on the spot. She was very fair and helpful. Nothing is more stressful than car trouble when you are on a road trip and I want to offer my thanks for the help.
Ive been bringing my car here for about 2 years now and the reason Ill only bring my car to this location is because everythings always great. Jennifer is the best and recently Steven helped me out and he was great too. They always explain to me whats going on, the cost is reasonable, and just as important (to me anyways) they give me a realistic time as to when my vehicle will be ready so I can take care of other errands if I need to. When I lived in Fort Lauderdale I stopped going to Pep Boys because they would always tell me my car would be ready at a certain time and when I get there I still had to wait two hours. Maybe that store was just a one-off but either way Im glad this location doesnt do that
The propane exchange kiosk wouldnt open bins after correctly punching pin number. Had to go to customer service desk multiple times to rectify. Evidently its the managers responsibility to replace the empty cylinders with full ones. And of course the manager is nowhere to be found. Not happy with propane exchange program
I ordered a set of tires online, when i arrived to the location, they did not have my tires ready for me which is completely understandable because they were probably busy but when the cashier was assisting me, he had the nastiest attitude. Once the cashier returned back with my tires, he practically threw my tires on the floor which was really embarrassing being that he had a long line full of customers. I would not recommend anyone to shop at this location, the overall experience was very unprofessional and unpleasant.
Had them do a simple oil change a couple of weeks ago a few days later car starts leaking oil wasnt doing that before I took it in for the oil change, According to them I need THIS & THAT totaling $540 everyone I told said Why did you go there they are the Worst & a Rip Off you go there your car be fine leave and the problems you werent having begins. Will Never go back to them again even their parts are Higher than their Competitors the parts I needed totaled $45 & with Labor $245 with them parts $108 with Labor $540. Car is fine Now. Pep Boys its a Wrap!!!! Whats REALLY gets me the guy looking at my car didnt even know what the part was I needed he had to Look It Up 🤔🤔🤔 Where they do that at Oh Pep Boys 🙄 if your a mechanic working on peoples cars all the time as soon as I told the mechanics that fixed my car the problem and where I took it they immediately knew what it was before looking at it which was the same as what Pep Boys looked up and said theyve heard stories about Pep Boys the name doesnt carry as good as it use to. My wife just got quoted 370 dollars to replace a battery, spark plugs, and air filter. 90-150 dollars with of parts, Im sure their parts cost is on the lower end of that. Not sure if the mechanics there wipe their butts with 100 dollar bills or if the typical labor surplus that keeps the ceo at their comfortable EIGHT FIGURE salary (google it!) is to blame but we are currently evaluating other options. JUST moved here to Jacksonville so we are quite busy and I dont have the tools with me to work on it myself, disgusting how places take such advantage.

Just pulled my entire fleet and will do business elsewhere, service is terrible, tools are stolen off of our trucks, they leave doors unlocked overnight if you dont pick up your truck asap. Our trucks have been serviced here for years and it has gone downhill.

Stall and service very courteous and eager to fix my car. The mechanic saved me money the day, by giving me the choice to replace a part, that still had a decent bit of life in it, or wait until it was showing definite signs of wear. That was money I definitely didnt need to put out at that time, so, luckily, I was able to delay that expense. But, I left there with piece of mind, while driving my car, that, Id be ok driving a few months and at that time Ill bring it back in, to be serviced. I was happy when I left. Highly recommend!

Took my friend there to fix her car. The people kept her car and took 5 days to tell her what was wrong. They said it was a simple fix, but then had to order the part which they never called her on. So she just took her car and left.

Over $9100 dollars and FOUR months spent to repair 2003 Ford Explorer and four tires was the issue, Jennifer (Pep-Boys REP) advised changing $2500 part, and it did NOT fix the problem. Harley (Pep-Boys Manager Jennifers Boss) took over and changed tires with no charge to me, all I want is $2500 dollars minus the tire cost $500. I have NOT been contacted by Raynette Caswell (Pep-Boys district manager) to resolve $2000 dollar reimbursement
So I went here for an oil change staff was okay but the inside of the place was extremely dirty I know that its a car place but you cant clean the area around you??? Like come on looks like the floor hadnt been moped in over two weeks there is no way in hell evrryevery got that dirty within a day. Yall needa get to work an clean that place bunch of yall was sitting down like are you serious???
Did my appointment online and selected all desired services. (Oil change & free tire rotation) they pulled my information and asked a couple questions in regards to which oil filter id want. At the time they had a $20 off Mobil1 Oil change. wanted to know if id also wanted a Mobil1 filter too... sure, why not... Apparently though if you dont tell them about any other services you selected online it wont get preformed. They never did the tire rotation when it is clearly on the invoice. I asked the rep at checkout the lady that checked me in, who turns out to be the service manager, said id never asked for it. So if you do the online appointment setup, make sure you tell them of all the services you elected. Regardless of it being on their check in system they wont do it otherwise.
One March 18th my wife, sister-in-law, her dog and myself were on our way back home to New Jersey from Cape Coral when our left, driver side wheel flew off while driving down route 10 around 12am Sunday morning.Our car was towed to the Jacksonville Pep-Boys where we met the manager Heather Pratt.We told Heather how we had gotten a tire rotation the day before at the Cape Coral Midas and we were on our way back home to New Jersey. Not only did we need a new rim and wheel, but a few other parts that were destroyed when sliding after the tire fell off. Heather made it a priority to get us back on the road and home as soon as possible. She called all over to find the parts we needed, unfortunately because it was a Sunday most places were closed. She took us in her own personal truck back to the scene of the accident and helped up look for our tire and rim. After searching for 2 hours and no luck she brought us back to Pep-Boys where she found us a pet friendly hotel. After her shift she gave us a ride to the hotel and picked us up the next day. Monday the 19th she got all the parts we needed and had us back on the road. Heather Pratt is a truly amazing person who went out of her way for total strangers. If it wasn’t for her kindness and the kindness of her whole crew I don’t know what we would have done.Pep-Boys are lucky to have an employee like Heather, you can tell she loves her job and she’s good at it. She goes above and beyond her job responsibilities to make sure the customer gets the best service possible. If you ever break down in Jacksonville bring your car to the Pep-Boys store #135 on Lane Ave.
Absolutely horrible experience worst place ever!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my vehicle towed here and they lied and told me they had the computer to read and perform the diagnostic test. They do not have this equipment and failed to tell me this until they had my car for over 8 hours.Had to make several phone calls to even find out what they were doing to my car. They ended up locking my keys in the car and told me different stories of what could be wrong, while looking around scratching their heads. I wouldnt even trust this place to change my oil!Just want to update my review... Neil Stokes contacted us shortly after I posted this review and wanted to make things right. He went above and beyond to rectify this horrible experience.Thanks again Neil for helping us!!

Will not be back! I took my car for a standard oil change 12 days ago. My car oil light came on today,so I pulled over and checked it,to my shock there was no oil at all on the dip stick! I called them and told them Id be bringing it in later to address the issue.When I arrive,Im told that my car had several leaks when they serviced it initially, so I ask why wasnt I notified then? I get no explanation, just a paper showing where it was wrote, I dont have that on my original paper work however. They take my car back, then call me over to show me all the oil under my car,my car had no oil whatsoever leaking prior to their servicing it 12 days ago. I am told they will top it off for me,but it may have a leak,I drive my car 30 minutes down the road and it starts sputtering and blowing smoke out,get home,check the oil and yet again bone dry.So, your trying to convince me my car blew out 5 quarts of oil in 30 minutes?! My car had no issues until you serviced it! Shady!

Employees use customer information for their own private purposes.On January 17, 2018, Lemund, the service person, stole my girlfriends phone number out of the computer and texted her after we left the store. How am I sure she didnt give it to him you ask, because I was standing next to her the whole time. We would have laughed it off if he would have been brave and creative enough to find out while we were standing there together, but I dont respect cowardly and disrespectful acts like this.Im sure this isnt the first time hes displayed this type of wanton and disrespectful behavior towards customers and their private information. With the public climate of people abusing their powers, Im sure an investigation will uncover any other scenarios where private information has been used against company policy.I left my information with the Parts manager because the Service manager, Lemunds supervisor, was off at the time. Im awaiting her phone call. If this isnt resolved to my satisfaction, we will consider legal action.This is very disturbing, unethical, and illegal behavior by those who we trust with our personal information to conduct daily business. I would recommend finding a different location.

Worst experience ever. Employees are unbelievably rude. Making an appt didn’t matter. They didn’t even look at my car until 2 hours after the appt. Took them another hour to make up a diagnosis (after getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion they didn’t even run a diagnostic). Had to have my car towed back bc my car stopped in an intersection, after I’d already paid them to fix the “problem.” They lost my key for half a day. Drained the gas in my car to tell me it was perfectly fine. I lived less than 5 mi away. My car did not make it home. If you must go here, plan on getting a second opinion before you let them do anything to your car.Edit to respond to “owner”: check your archives. I sent 3. You didn’t respond to 2 of them.
Always get a second opinion. Dont trust what they tell you. They told me my transmission fluid was burnt and I needed a new transmission. So I got a second look at from aamco and it was nothing wrong with my transmission. Now Im wondering if I needed a new fuel pump and starter. I dont trust them at all anymore

Had some issues with my vehicle. They came up with a list of 2500. I agreed and then they came back and it was going to be near 3500. Took my vehicle for a second opinion and turns out my vacuum hose had a crack in it...80.00 later and my vehicle was running good as new.
