Big Chief is the best place to get tires in Jacksonville. The selection, prices, and installation can’t be beat. This is the third car I’ve put tires on and I could not be happier. Installation was quick and I was able to get a TPMS replaced as well, which saved me a pricey trip to the Subaru dealer.

Ive been going to Big Chief for 30 years buying tires when Steve and Dave were there on Phillips highway. Big Chief tire is still family owned and recently I had the opportunity to speak to one of the family members about a concern on one of my tires. After a nice discussion he made it a point to have the general manager personally take a look at the tires. They were able to correct the situation and provide me with a better solution than the original purchase. I appreciate them taking the time to listen to my concerns. Called for an appointment and ordered my tires. Process was seamless. Dropped off my truck and it was ready prior to promised pickup. Honest business as I asked for an alignment and a check revealed I didnt need one. Been using Big Chief for 30 years and I always get good service.

I had purchased tires several months back from Big Chief. After running over a roofing nail, I went back for repair or replacement. At first we thought it was replacement, but found it could be repaired. Done and no charge! The service reps (3 different ones) were helpful and so pleasant assisting me every step of the way. Work is good, communication is poor. Came in for one thing, got a call from BC and they told me what the issue was.. told them to fix it.. half way through the job they told me they were wrong about what the issue was, ended up paying $400 more than quoted.. second time something like this happened.

Great place to go if you have a modified car. My car is lowered a lot and while other places turned me away, the guys at big chief tire took my car in with no problem and did the alignment the way I wanted it to support my suspension.

This experience was really good the only problem I had was at checkout when I was trying to receive my 10% off, as the coupon stated on their site. Well the man checking me out said it can’t be applied because there wasn’t any labor, another man stepped in and said there was an hour of labor he can deduct from. Would you know the man checking me out actually got mad, and told the other man to be quiet. It was obvious he didn’t want to apply the coupon even though there was labor and I sat there patiently for 3 hours. Everything else was fine and he did apply the coupon but he really didn’t want to and I find that really odd. You should want your customers to be able to use your deals posted.

Excellent experience. The technicians are knowledgeable polite and courteous. My car had two tires that developed tread separation from dry rot, which knocked out the alignment, which was causing the car to shake, bounce and pull to the right. When they were finished the car drove like brand new and the pricing was very reasonable

Dropped truck off around 8 in the morning. Left come back around 11 and still sit and waited till 130 before I was able to leave. Was only getting a tire rotation...... My company might make us go to them because we have account with them but I will never take my personal vehicles to them.

I took my. 97 silverado to get the front end alignment .I have been taking it for the last five years and I get a 6-month warranty if I have any problems I just bring it back good service. Took for alignment but as i left the shop i could already tell that they did not center the steering wheel before the alignment because the steering wheel is STILL off by 10 degrees. Either that or they failed informed me that my tie rods are no good. Now im out $160 and no problem solved

On 4/19/21 I brought my 2014 Chevy truck for AC service. First diagnosis was a leak where the evaporator attaches to the expansion valve tubes. I was told that the expansion valve gasket was replaced and leak testing was done using their new $8000.00 leak detection machine. Supposedly the leak was repaired. Charge for repair was $155.32.Using a soapy solution I sprayed around the area of repair and could see indications of leaking around the repaired area. I returned the next day and showed them what I saw. They agreed that there was still a problem and kept the truck for further service.On 4/22/21 I was told that the problem was the expansion valve itself and needed to be replaced. The expansion valve was replaced and the system was retested. No leaks detected. Charged $155.27.Again using the soapy solution at the same area again there was indications of a leak. I went back and showed them what I saw. I was told that what I was seeing was cabin pressure seeping around the evaporator cab penetration.Two weeks later my AC is blowing hot air again.Three weeks and $310.59 and many calls later my AC is the same as when I first took it in to Big Chief Tire. Blowing hot air.

JOSH WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO REPLACE MY TIRE UNDER ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY WHICH HAD A NAIL IN THE SIDE WALL. THE STORE WAS SLAMMED WITH 8 VEHICLES WAITING AT 4:45 ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON. HE WOUND UP CHANGING THE TIRE HIMSELF. I REALLY APPRECIATE HIS DEDICATION TO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I priced around and Big Chief had great prices on the tires I was considering, even when comparing to online and the membership warehouse stores. But what really sets them apart is the service. They treat me and every member of my family as though we’re the top customer - often adding in extra service for free. This time they did an alignment check after the install for free (confirming the truck didn’t need an alignment) - I think they said this was standard. One of the National tire stores told me it would cost almost as much to check and alignment as it would to do an alignment. Either way, Big Chief provided added value for me and they were happy to do it.Save yourself the time and trouble of a bad experience somewhere else and just go to Big Chief...you’ll be happy you did.

Had a slow leak in my tire so I called Big Chief Tire. I spoke On the phone with Keith who was positive and accommodated me by allowing me to drop my vehicle off with No appointment and work me into the schedule. Within a few hours I was back in my vehicle with the tire repaired and for a VERY responsible price.Cleanly and Spacious office and sitting area.Speedy and Quality work.Great pricing.Definitely would use them again.

Very friendly. I called ahead and they got me in for an emergency tire patch on my truck. I had tried to patch it myself but it continued with a slow leak. I had a 1400 mile trip towing a trailer and wanted it done correctly.I paid for a patch and they guaranteed the work.I checked the tire the next day and it was still losing air. I called and they got me in quickly to take a look. I then found out that they never had actually patched the tire. The tech couldn’t find the leak. So they had just put the tire back on and sent me on my way after paying for a patch.Needless to say, it was done right the 2nd time and I made way way back safely to Maine. I’m confident that “We do it right the 2nd time” isn’t the slogan Big Chief wants to go with.Super friendly staff and clean environment. I just wish I hadn’t had to return.

Bought 4 tires for travel trailer. Said they were the best they carried. After 6 months 1 tire blew out. next day 1 on the other side blew out. Travel Trailer had only been on concrete or asphalt, tire were properly inflated, run every month, total distance 1100 miles. Two months later a 3rd tire blew.Big Chief said they were sending to 1 Manufacture for eval. Two hours latter they called to say the maker claimed tires were over loaded. Where is this manufacture that receive and eval in 2 hours? How do you over load a travel trailer? Put 3 tons of clothing in it?It was less then half the rated weight of the tires!!Big Chief offered $25 off my next purchase. Really? Ridiculous!!STAND BEHIND WHAT YOU SELL.

Came in for an oil change and tire rotation. Kyle the service advisor was outstanding. He was courteous and made sure everything was done properly and on time.

I took my jeep wrangler in for an alignment and got a call saying my front end needed a lot of work and that my tires were starting to separate so they could not do the alignment until the front end was fixed. The price went from $79.99 to $3600. I was informed it was unsafe to drive because of the tire separation but when I said I couldnt afford that, he immediately took the tires off of the list. The parts he said needed fixed were extremely over priced soI took the jeep back without doing a thing. I took it to RNR tires and express and had them look at the tires and front end to which they said one tire was beginning to separate and the front end was a little worn but certainly didnt need to be fixed to do an alignment so I spent $2400 on a set of 5 tires new tires and got an alignment done from RNR within an hour and she drives smooth as can be now. They got a two star review because they filled my washer fluid up without asking and that was nice of the technicians.

I have had repairs done at both the Philips Highway and Normandy location and received great customer service each time! I was in and out within a reasonable amount of time and felt the work done surpassed my expectations! After having terrible experiences with other auto shops, I will continue to return to Big Chief Tire!

Big Chief Tire aligned my cars front end successfully and fairly quickly. My only recommendation would be that as of this time in world history (March 30, 2021), they should keep wearing their masks while they are in the customer service area.

Ive purchased a few sets of tires from them and front end alignments. They always do a good job and really took care of me when I popped in with a leaking valve stem on my dually.

The level of service provide was second to none. I was stuck in a bad situation and Charles went above and beyond to help me out, instead of taking advantage of my situation like other shops would have. I have the feeling Charles would have provided the same level of service and genuine willingness to help someone in need to anyone that walked into the shop that evening. Im very dissatisfied with the service I received Friday even though it was a very busy day for them. I went in for 2 front tires and agreed that it might be a 2 hour wait since it was about 10:30. They suggested that I also have the brakes replaced about 12:00, I agreed to that. Im being assured about the time it takes to smooth the brakes, when about 2 the man working on my car comes in asking for the brake pads. Well there was a dispute about not having any and who should have ordered them. It was 3:30 when the work was finished. 4 months later, new tire flat twice, Maxed out my AAA, and hours wait only to find out they wont honor warranty on their tires. Was a customer for years. NEVER AGAIN. Buy tires at Discount Tires, or any store that ONLY sell tires from now on and save time.

Before I chose big chief I must have called at least 15 different tire stores within a 10 mile radius of my home After speaking to a young man named Kyle who was kind enough to go through every tire that they had in stock that would fit me and what they could order. I wouldn’t go anywhere for tires. The service, selection, and prices are excellent. I could save a few bucks and go somewhere else but I wouldn’t get the after sales service that makes Big Chief the best.

Best front end alignment in town. Latest equipment with a mechanic that knows how to use the alignment equipment. Other companies in town may have good alignment equipment, but they don’t have trained mechanic to operate equipment. Big Chief on University and Phillips very busy, make appointment first, they will have you in and out with the job done right the first time.Highly recommend. This is an older facility with very good mechanics.

Guest place for servicing your car no diversity but its wonderful there

I have had it with places that give you a time estimate, you tell them you dont have much more time than the estimate they give you, and then its MORE than double time. 3 additional hours because of a alignment queue?? Is there ANYWHERE that doesnt pull this? Im so beyond fed up with tire and auto repair places in this town. You guys need to do mich better.

Convienantly located in the center of the Southside. There arent any services you could need that they dont offer. They have been around for a long time and they continue to make themselves better. They just hired a manager named Charles Crocker who has been my saving grace since I loved to Jacksonville. Where ever this man works I will go. Superior customer service does not sell you anything you dont need. Does it all at a fair price and makes sure your happy. Cant reccomend more highly. Ask for Charles and you wont be dissapointed.

Not from the city and didn’t want to go to the location that manufacture my vehicle.Got my car transported from Amir Tire and off Road to Big Chief. I was fighting a time restriction due to me being a bus driver and had to pick my children up very soon a d had already been getting other maintenance done to my vehicle since 10am. I communicated and let them know and they hurried and did my alignment and did it fast and correct!! I thank them so much for their understanding and patience due to my last minute issue ! They did a good job and a fair price,. But this evening I noticed that one of my hub caps/covers is badly damaged and I know that had to be where it was damaged since I got the truck back home its been locked up where no one can get to it. I dont know where we stand on this because I just found it and have no had the chance to address it with the customer service representative or management,. They got me the cheapest option and got me in and out of there in 20 minutes while they were also very busy. I was very surprised by the speed and understanding they had for my situation. We were told by the Nissan dealership mechanics that our truck needed a whole new engine that would cost over $7000. After Charles and Bob got in to look at it they were able to diagnose the actual problem do the repairs, oil change and new tires at a fraction of the cost of Nissan. staff is knowledgeable and courteous. One night recently I was driving and started to feel like my car was going to go off the road because my alignment felt so bad and it was really really scary so I just so happen to see Big Tire Chief and Immediately pulled in… I realized they were closed so I parked my car up there and left my keys in the dropbox… After, I called and left a voicemail and told them what was going on.The very next morning I called and I spoke to the most wonderful person that you could possibly speak to when you’re worried about your car and her name was LEXI.... She was so nice and made me feel so comfortable about what was going on. She explained everything to me perfectly and just did exactly what you would want someone to do in that kinda situation. She is very sweet and extremely nice and I honestly wish there was more people out there like her because it so, We would all be a lot happier customers I promise you that.
