Didnt even make it into the store. I called to ask a simple question, I asked if they accept walk ins or if I needed to schedule an appointment. They guy responded in the rudest tone we dont accept wellcare. So I asked my question again and we went around in this circle for about ten minutes before he goes look do you have vision insurance. In a matter of fact way. So I told him yes and that Florida blues website gave me the number to the store. Then he asks for my policy number. Never answered my question. Im sorry but Im not just going to hand out personal information to some random dude over the phone for no reason nor should I be asked to.
My husband and I went in for our yearly exam and get glasses. I have no complaints about the eye doctor there at Vision Works. I went to get my glasses and the representative by the name Charlene (Kat) helped me. I advised that I wanted a more sturdy pair of frames but light weight since I wear my glasses for over 10 hours. She kept bringing me frames that had plastic arms and they were heavy and very expensive. I found a pair that actually fit my face, light weight and weren’t over $300 dollars. I also got a pair of sunglasses. She then started with my measurements from there she took over ordering my glasses. She never asked what I wanted on my glasses or if I wanted a warranty. By the time she got done I owed $666.69. I have never paid that much in my life. I said something about it and she never explained it. Monday I sent a fax with a copy of the receipt and I letter asking for a itemized statement. She sent me the fax back with the receipt with the breakdown written on it. That’s not what I wanted. I called our vision provider and I went over what she wrote and I was advised for custom lenses if at the highest level wasn’t listed at $175 per lenses. She then charged the highest level for Anti-glare which under our plan was $85. Then the warranty was $335. She never explained the warranty nor give me any information on the warranty. The representative from our vision provider advised I have every right to cancel. I sent a fax requesting both my husband and my order be canceled right then. I also told them I will never go back to them. I will take my business back to Pearle Vision a company I can trust and will not try to be sneaky with things. I met my husband outside of vision works he took my card in and they were issuing a refund and it would take 3 to 5 business days. I got a call on Friday afternoon advising they just put my refund through and sent paperwork to their claims department to have our benefits restored so I can go to Pearle Vision but it will take 30 days. They never submitted a claim to our vision insurance. I filed a complaint with our vision insurance and I was advised on Friday that someone is looking into my complaint and has requested the claim from them. If you go BEWARE of Charlene (Kat) she will take you for all you got!!!!! The store manager wasn’t even willing to see what she did wrong.
This place is a great place to get glasses. I’ve had a wonderful experience with the staff. Joel, Juan, and Liz especially were very helpful. Also my doctor. Overall this place has wonderful people that dedicate themselves to their patients. Thank you for your service!

I had a wonderful experience today at my appointment. The doctor I saw was detailed, kind, and knew what she was doing. The person who assisted me with my glasses was precise and extremely helpful. This was refreshing as I had previously had a bad experience with an eye doctor last year. I am glad I chose Visionworks for my needs today. Looking forward to picking up my glasses in a couple of weeks.

I had completely forgotten why I stopped coming here for my personal vision appointments. The employees are quick to blame the customer. I made an appointment for my daughter to get contacts, I was a few minutes late like 7 minutes because I drive 20 + miles coming from St. Augustine, the optometrist left for the day. The receptionist was already closing up shop and was not at the counter when I arrived. She had the nerve to say because you were 10 minutes late so the doctor left for the day...are you serious? The doctor and staff are always happy to leave early, thats with any job. Why not pick up the phone and call your patient?! Other doctors offices do it. And she said they didnt know if I plan on coming Really?! I confirmed through the automated text the day before I was coming. Im not calling the office while Im driving on I-95 between semi trucks to let you guys know a second time Im coming to my appointment. Ive waited for this optometrist longer than 45 minutes for my appointments in the past and I was always nice about it, and yall have the nerve to blame the customer over a couple minutes. I will never come back, not even for my daughters eye exam. Ill be bringing her to local vision places in St. Augustine and support our local businesses. Your staff is stupid.

It was my 1st time ever getting any kind of vision service so quite naturally I was really nervous by EVERYONE at the Avenues location were amazing. I will absolutely be returning and referring my folks there.
Wow! I’ve always used local eye doctors so I was skeptical coming here to a chain. Everyone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Eyeglass prices are way better here, as well. Great selection for every price range. You receive a text message (if you opt in) when your glasses are ready for pickup. Give them a try. Glad I did!
My experience at this Visionworks location could not have gone any better. First I was greeted by a very happy and jovial Miranda that assisted the eye doctor on site, then Benji the General Manager, assisted me in finding 2 pairs of glasses that fit my style and was kind enough to inform me that I could buy 2 glasses using the current sale they had going on for $ 40 less than it would have cost to buy one pair with my VSP eye insurance. Throw Juan and Joel in the mix for being helpful and complimenting the relaxed professional atmosphere and you have a great visit. I would strongly recommend this location. Well done!
The frames came in darker then expected and the rep changed it out for the demos that I liked! Glasses came a lot sooner then expected as well. Definitely a great please to do business

I almost never take the time to do these reviews, but the customer service here is phenomenal. The opticians, especially, are knowledgeable and couldnt be friendlier. Any time I need an adjustment with my glasses, they help me right away and keep tweaking until they think it as close to perfect as possible. Optometrist and staff is great as well.
I broke my glasses and went here. The manager, Melanie and her staff were very helpful. Their kindness and assistance were so appreciated, especially since I was there in vacation. They had a great selection of frames. A+ team! Thank you!!

First and last visit...Consulted with them on Sept 12th and ordered my glasses same day.After 19 days of total silence from them, I finally called to get the status on my glasses only to be told they have been ready and sitting there for the past two weeks and no one, absolutely no one bothered to call me.I guess once you pay them they dont give a damn about you anymore.Message received! You are never getting a dime from me againI
Waited over two weeks for my sons glasses. They stated that the in house lab couldnt make them so they sent them out of state. I called for several days and was told they werent in yet. I called all day yesterday and their phone just rang a fast busy. I called just now and was told that yes, the glasses have been there. Really? My child has gone without his glasses for 15 days, suffering headaches because yall are too incompetent to call us and let us know the glasses arrived? How can a store have their phone off all day? His prescription wasnt even that complicated to warrant over two weeks wait time. They stated because he got lighter lenses, that they would send them off. Lesson learned, go elsewhere. They better hope that his glasses are 100% when I pick them up. Customer no service!
Been wearing glasses A little over two years and the staff here at vision Works was amazing when I came in very friendly and The manager I believe her name was Melanie Thomas was very knowledgeable friendly and oh so helpful you guys have a great staff continue to keep up the good work definitely be coming back

Place is a joke. I called to verify location and they told me by jcpenny. They are not located by jcpenny!When I scheduled the appointment they told me they accepted my insurance and had a large selection of kids frames that change color in the sun. Lies and more lies. I arrive at my appointment and they had maybe 2 frames and wanted me to pay out of pocket for my appointment. Huge waste of time!!!!

The eye doctor is AMAZING. However, customer service is awful. I will not be returning to this location because the desk clerk literally ruined every aspect of my experience at this Vision Works location.

Worst place ever!! They wanted to charge $90 for one pair of contact lenses just for a trail and office visit. If I didnt want to be charge I had to gave them back the contact lenses. Already paid $45 for a specialist that they referred me. I wasted my money and my time because the didnt find nothing they just asked me what I was doing there and I was more surprised than the specialist.
This store has the best staff and best selection of glasses also amazing deals! If you need glasses or an eye exam this is where you need to go!

This is the worst place in the world to buy glasses. One of my lenses is to big for frame and keeps popping out . when I took them to Wal-Mart to get fixed.they said this was the cheapest frames and lenses.that they ever saw asked where I got them .I told them vision works at avenue mall.they laughed and said I need to get my money back .I told them I paid almost 400.00 dollars for them .the Dr. Said that was ridiculous. I should not have paid over 200.00 .And that was pushing it that the lenses are too big for the glasses .I dont see straight because. The bifocals are not even I havent had anything but trouble with these glasses I have to go somewhere else to buy glasses. They suck!!! Manager is hateful and rude! The staff is afraid of her!
I had gotten my glasses at a different VisionWorks, and I had trouble with the right lense falling out because they were made poorly. I went into this VisionWorks to get the lens fixed, and one of the employees made me a completed new lens for free! Great customer service, very personable. Ill be paying it forward :)
I scheduled appt one week in advanced via online, got confirmation. I called the business one day before the appt to confirm, Melanie, store mgr couldn’t find my appt, but accommodated mr; Optical staff called same day of appt to cancel no reason just unable to see me! When I spoke to Melanie, store mgr, she explained the optical side wasn’t there yesterday and can not verify my insurance! Why make an appt in the first place if you cannot confirm?? I was given the option to pay out of pocket then to be reimbursed! What a joke of a business, very bad, I will make sure all my friends know about this experience not giving you our business anymore, apparently you don’t need it!

They had a special buy one pair get one free. They claimed I needed bifocals I kept telling them the bifocals do not work for me and not seem to make any difference. One pair was for reading for driving basically anything I try them when I was driving to work at night you cannot make out the signs they were blurred they were out of focus the other pair are for a computer I cannot even read the emails on the computer Im at work I was out blurry. My recommendation find another store
Had worst experience with the staffs here. They gave appointment for my daughters eye exam and at the time of appointment they said they are not capable to exam kids. I clearly told them the age at the time of appointment. Lazy peoples work here..
