This place rents U-Haul and has storage facilities as well. The probability of getting the desired vehicle here is my h higher than the other pickup places as this is a huge facility. This place offers to buy stuff like mattress covers and bubble wraps and possibly everything you need to pack and move your stuff and this can be handy for any last minute buys. The check in and drop off prices was smooth. Will recommend this place to pick up U-Haul if in the surrounding

It was only 10AM and the clerk was already giving everyone a major attitude. I understand she didn’t want to be there, but we the customers have no choice either but to line up and wait for our truck rental and having to look her in the eye and wonder why she couldn’t just make things easier on herself by caring about the customers instead of flirting with her coworkers.

The people working here dont know what theyre doing, so the queue moves very slowly. The lady at the store doesnt know how to do refunds and she is calling someone over phone for help. There is just one person at the checkout.

Many truck and storage are available. Sometimes you may need to call customer service when not booked confirm . Please note : if you park uhaul truck at night you may get $130 ticket ( 9 pm -5 pm). They may know the information but not reveal.Last time I hire the truck which was not good quality but sometime you may get better as it rotating.Please check your rate and equipment . Sometime they charge wrong and also supply wrong items which take time to talk with support team to resolve the issue .They given wrong equipment and charge wrongly . i informed but still they charged . When I booked price per mileage some rate but at counter they charge different then I need to call support for update .

I had everything stored at Chelsea location for 2 /3 years but I was forced to moved to this jersey location after store close down and had my over 10 years personal belongings there for 3 years paying over $ 200 dls a month and everything was destroy by rats . Full lost, they gave me $2000 and after I spoke to the manager he offer me extra 1500 when I had thousands in lost . Besides over 5 years making profits on me be very careful if you decide to use this location and they have a system to not compensate you properly . Employees are not helpful and have dont care attitude .65 inc tv, microwave, dvd and lot expensive staff all lost . This is the biggest storage space from that location

I Found used mask, water bottles, a beer bottle, Dunkin’ Donuts trash and a used glove after reaching home 15 minutes after renting the truck. These all are stuffed under the seats as if to avoid cleaning and to put it out of sight of the customer’s eyes. This is the experience they are providing the people during a pandemic and only making my moving harder. Is U-Haul going to take care of my family in case someone gets sick? No they won’t. They don’t care about people. I cleaned it myself and disinfected the seating area.

Recently used their service for first time. Easy to book and staff is good if you know everything but they lack at some points providing information and you might be charged for that.Here, I rented truck and I was given truck with not a full tank. At end I used it for only 7 miles. As truck was not full I only poured couple of gallons to bring it back level I was given and it ended on assumption its not enough and I was charged for that.So my suggestion to take full tank and bring back full or have proof of tank level when taking a vehicle and when return it.

I rented here on 1/31 so it was at the end of the month, it was quite busy as well, so please ensure that you have made a booking online beforehand! It is convenient and easy to do online. No complaining if you dont get the truck you want because you didnt book it in advance. the service was quick and we got our truck quickly, the staff was friendly and explained any questions I had. I would recommend it to others! Returning was easy as well.One thing that is annoying is the returns, people were all over the place after hours (parking in the wrong spots or blocking others, not parking on the lines), but that isnt up to the business to control.

The big lady at customer service sounded like she was mad at someone and was extremely rude to everyone and gave one word replies without thinking and that too ridiculous replies. She should not be allowed to work in service industry. Why or how do corporates find these people to serve customers?Absolutely no skills or even general courtesy. She was on shift Jun 14, 2021(monday) close to evening 6:30pm. She was the only one there along with other staff men who were outside. If you are treated badly, you are definitely a victim same as me and my friend who actually rented the vehicle. If we had some time in hand before uhaul location closes, we would have dropped the plan to rent from there and went else where. Recommend to save some respect for yourself and avoid renting from this location unless dire necessity.

Billing scam. Booked a truck for couple of hours and returned around 4:30pm. Later in the evening received the receipt with $20 late hour service fees. The guy was totally unapologetic for their miss when I called the tonelle Ave number and immediately agreed to refund the 20 bucks. Like he knew that he was caught. My receipt signed by Kenneth Spell Jr. Still no return. Trying to connect to their customer service but no luck after long wait time. Disputing with credit card. Will let CC company deal with them.

Alex and Team are great on the other hand uhaul customer service is pathetic.I ordered for hitch installation via uhaul website, it was scheduled to install after a week, when I reached the store, got to know it is still in transit and they don’t have an option to track.So I called uhaul customer after waiting for 35mins someone picked up and hanged the call immediately. There was no response for an email i sent, even for courtesy. Chat service is pretty much the same.So I walked in to stores again, Alex spent sometime to find if hitch is available in somewhere near by and got it delivered and installed for me.Thank you Alex.Note: this store is always busy, so you have to wait for sometime

HiI won’t give this guy even 1 star.I went here to pick up cargo Ford van and they give me Chevrolet and the lady ALISHA TANDACHARRY told me that I am a manager here to do anything. This is such a ridiculous.I came to know the manager is Alex here !!

They staff is extremely rude, the manager is completely asinine. They continue to bill for things that did not happen. As well as charge for gas, when I have already filled the gas back up. Billing scam is a huge thing as this company.

I rented a truck from here last year after having a bad experience with another company. I went to them on the spot and they had a truck for me within the next few minutes. I decided to rent from them again this year for a local move and the process was just as seamless. Friendly staff, easy process, no issues at all

Grumpy staff. Missed to give me trolley after they charged me. The cleaning guy was yelling at everyone. Tried to ask about trolley types and they were annoyed at 8:00 am in the morning.

A family member of mine recently just rented a trailer to drive one way from NJ to the Midwest. We tried MANY times to communicate with this location and express our concern about driving far with the trailer and we asked questions that seemed bothersome to them but normal to us when trying to ensure a loved one is traveling under the safest possible conditions. (We asked things like the how recent the tires were checked rotated and changed etc. and same for oil etc. We kept trying to be communicative of our concerns and keeping our patience with them as they repeatedly gave us the cold shoulder just for trying to ensure the safety of our loved one and operator of the vehicle driving cross country with the trailer!) Their lack of communication coupled with their lack of due diligence caused one the tires to blow to smithereens and nearly a very SEVERE life threatening accident. This is completely unacceptable don’t be in the customer service industry if you aren’t good at listening and communicating with people. Good luck to anyone trying to communicate with customer service at this location and I’ll say a prayer for your safety and the safety of your passengers. Moral of this review: If you value your lives (something you can’t get back) DON’T Rent from this location give your business to only those that you feel comfortable with and trust! Made an appointment for a hitch install two weeks ago. Arrived at 11a as the appointment was 11a. Was told “the guy isn’t here yet”. 15 min later I asked and was told he was 10 min away. At 11:45 I asked again and the two women at the front desk just said “don’t know where he is”. Then a manager came (I didn’t know he was there for me as no one said anything) and said “oh the hitch you ordered is on back order - it’s not here. Want me to look for another one for you?” That is the only reason he’s getting 2 stars. Otherwise Super annoying experience.

If I could give zero stars I would, rented a car trailer got to my destination 4 hrs away, turns out they gave me the wrong size trailer not wide enough for car that their system ensured would fit, called jersey city store, got attitude and refused to put manager on the phone, then told me to bring the trailer back 4 hrs or they would charge me triple, got corporate on the phone they took care of everything. I will never go back to this place or recommend anyone use the jersey city uhaul. If you ever have any issue call the corporate number they actually will help and not give attitude

There was literally a used syringe needle shoved into my seat. The van was absolutely filthy. Dog hair everywhere. Totally irresponsible.

Ive used Jersey city U-haul a few times but this time I needed a storage unit. When you walk in its lit and smells good. Walking through you can see that they keep the appearance up to par. Rebecca was very informative as well as Alisha when i rented the 15ft. I forget the guys name who helped me with the truck when i went outside short dark skin guy with glasses. This U-haul has really improved. Keep up the work. Thank you.

Avoid making business with U-HAUL and specially this location. They screwed it up in every aspect including their reviews system does not work. I wish I could wright it there so someone a little bit more responsible if exist for this company can read it.

Ive been trying call the facilities for three days to reserve a storage locker. Nobody has picked up the phone. I keep getting put on hold for 5-10 minutes until it just disconnects the phone. I think that is the first bad sign. There are tons of bad reviews on this place, so I think i should identify a different location for storage.

Very rude and bad customer service experience. I called to ask about the box truck information and was told “It is very busy. You can’t expect me to walk to the box truck to find out” I never told her she had to check but it would be nice is she known about the trucks working at the location. But I asked for the manager and she told me he was busy so I can I can wait and she hung up. Calling again I heard her pick up and hang up on me so yet again I called back and behold the manger that was busy picked up the phone. Ms.Dean needs to learn customer service skills.

This location is full of scammers. They will put charges for late drop off even you have dropped earlier thn your time. And they will charges for scratches after uploading photos that scratches was there earlier.

The manager (his name was Michael or Matthew) was very demeaning and condescending to his staff. He belittled the woman helping me and is probably why the staff feels so exasperated. The workers on the outside who were actually helping were doing the best they could - but they need a leader. All I could do was try to encourage those helping me that they were doing a great job (because they were with what they were given, considering the culture created there). The line took a long time to get through and there was no sense of urgency...efficiency was lacking...and misinformation was given. It starts at the top - you take care of that and your people and empower them, and the rest will fall together naturally in a positive way.

I highly recommend this location! In addition to being professional, fast, efficient, and generally a privilege to encounter they resolved an issue created by another U-Haul Carrier within minutes. Where as the other location couldnt muster the collective intelligence to resolve the issue let alone provide even basic customer service.These guys handled the situation flawlessly and turned my whole experience around in one visit. When you to move something dont even think about not partnering with them! 10/10 Everyone from the management to the workers deserve to be promoted. Real leaders are hard to find.

Called this morning to see if they have a hitch forMy car. They stated they would call right back. That was about 8 hours ago . Horrible service

When we moved yesterday we reserved a U-Box. We had to move out of our apartment in two hours. Through a very stressful realization we discovered we did not have enough space in our U-Box. This jersey city location made an absolute miracle happen. After hours they delivered us a second box within a half an hour. A truly awesome experience!

I don’t even want to give this place 1 star. I made a reservation online for this facility which stated $50 guaranteed reservation for 5x8 trailer. As I am driving to the facility I get a text message that states I have to pick up the trailer in Newark, which is about another 25-30 minutes out of my way. I pull over to call and see what’s going on. After getting transferred 3-4 times to unpleasant/unprofessional staff and being on hold for 25 minutes I’m told the other person didn’t return the trailer by 9:30. Why you would allow a drop off and pick up time be the same I don’t understand first off. Second, how is that a guaranteed reservation? And, the only reason I chose this U-Haul facility was because it said they had one available and it was the only location that stated $50 guaranteed reservation. After discussing this with the scheduling department, her final response was there was nothing that could be done so I had to cancel my reservation and start calling other places to locate a trailer. The $50 guaranteed reservation was inaccurate as they did not give me $50 for them not being able to fulfill their end of the reservation.

Its the best in customer service. More economical with different truck sizes and different packing options. It would have been great, if they paid back the money that they promised, when I returned my truck in clean condition.

Tired calling as soon as they open to get info on truck and waited half and hour. On top of that the lady was really rude like if I’m asking too many questions

Great place to rent. People at rental desk are patient, understand the process and computer system (which seems a bit cumbersome) so they get you in and out quick. If there’s a wait, it’s usually because the customer in front of you doesn’t know what they want or has a ton of requests, etc. guys outside where you pick up car are fast and professional too.

Very helpful staff, surprised me by helping to carry my many purchases out to the car. Great selection, much larger than at all-purpose stores that don’t specialize in moving needs, and the prices are even better, especially when buying in volume (e.g., bundle of 20 medium boxes was $20. $1 per box).

Average truck rentals and average service, however this location has a huge inventory of trucks to rent. And the store has a surprising amount of supplies and products. Generally well-staffed. I have no knowledge about their actual self-storage, so YMMV.

Bad service they have roaches and when you tell one of the staffs about it . They will tell you don’t worry about it!!! IT WILL GO OUT OF A HOLE WHERE EVER THAT HOLE IS WAS NEVER THERE ! ONCE I RETURN THE TRUCK THEy GO CHECK it OUT IN SEE THE ROACHES I WAS TELLING them ABOUT AND NOW TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY A CLEANING FEE OF 50 bucks I will never RENT FROM THEM EVER AGAIN !!!

Scheduled a hitch installation for my 2013 Range Rover Evoque. First they canceled and rescheduled my appointment 3 times over the course of 3 weeks while waiting for the correct hitch. Once they called to cancel 2 hours before the scheduled time completely disrupting my plan for the day. They attempted a same day cancellation a 4th time and I insisted they keep the appointment. They claimed they had to keep their technician beyond his scheduled time. I arrived at my appointment at 4pm. They didnt start working on my car until around 5pm. At roughly 7pm the tech came to me to confess that they had broken my bumper during the installation. Their insurance reimbursed me for the bumper ($1,500). The body shop doing the repair calls me to say that U-Haul removed the heat shield under my car causing the exhaust to melt my bumper. Also, the bolts were completely loose. If I had actually used the hitch I could have jeopardized lives! They used the wrong size hitch entirely after waiting and rescheduling for weeks to get the correct size. This has been a major inconvenience to my life and I will never get a hitch installed at U-Haul again. DO NOT GET A HITCH INSTALLED AT THIS LOCATION. I am disgusted.

This UHaul is VERY BUSY on weekends - with long lines for customer service. My advice: book the truck/van/trailer as EARLY as possible (7am) as trucks are doled out on a first come, first serve basis. If someone doesnt return a truck from the night before, its out of UHauls hands and you dont get a truck if you schedule to pick one up later in the morning at 9:30/10am (seen it happen to people a bunch). Great service and very well-managed (the manager there runs a tight ship). Ive used this location 5 times and have had a great experience each time - workers are very helpful and go out of their way to help.

Make sure to call the day before to make sure whatever you need is there, system commonly shuts down and associates might not have any clue you are coming for a truck next morning. Storage is maintained very well and associates make it easy if you have any questions or problems.

The manager Dennis is awesome! He went above and beyond even driving my truck into my unit. The missing star is for the awful staff. It was close to closing and the staff were stonewalling me without a care that I drove 100 miles and needed to unload my truck tonight. They wanted me to come back tomorrow. Ummm, i have work on mondays. It was before closing!!!! They are awful and get -5 stars. Luckily Dennis stepped in without a question and handled everything himself. Great customer service to compensate for the pure laziness and putrid customer service of the counter girl.

Management and customer service are a bit incompetent and disorganized. I want to give them some credit because you can tell the GM actually does care. Regardless, I was overcharged me with late fees 3x when they lost my card on file. Unfamiliar with their services and business. Storage units are infested with mice (found 3 dead in mine). Destroyed hundreds of dollars worth of property.

Nasty rude people gross rats inside units trucks are always dirty then try to charge u a cleaning fee and they always over charge and stack up prices specially for unit storage rats destroyed my furniture even though I had insure and proof they refused to pay. Worst Customer Experience Ever for Hitch InstallationI started to have issues with this location from the moment I made the online reservation. I selected a date online and was informed that somebody from the location would call to set up a time. The selected day came and went and nobody called so a few days after the reserved date I called the location and was put on hold for 15 minutes the first time I called. I hung up and called back the next day, again after taking my order number I was put on hold for over 8 minutes when I hung up again. Tried the 3rd time and guess what same thing happened. I finally gave up calling them and decided to cancel the order online at a later date. Eventually somebody from the location called and informed me that the hitch has arrived and that they could set up an installation. Installation was only available in the afternoons as the mechanic was not there at other times which meant I had to go during the middle of the work day. I told the person that I wanted to make sure that they would take me at the scheduled time and would call me in the morning if there were any issues or delays. I reached the location and could see there was another car that was having a hitch installed. I waited in line at the counter to get to speak to somebody and saw just horrible customer service just waiting. The people ahead of me were at mocked and insulted and treated as if they were lucky just to be at Uhaul and have the privilege of renting from them. These guys took it well but were nearly pushed too far and nearly ended up in a fight with the guy at the counter. I saw no fault with the customer, all with the guy behind the counter. The manager was at the counter all this time but did nothing to intervene. There was a long line of about 4 people waiting and the manger did not take anybody. He was on the phone and eating and doing other things. Finally after a 5th person came on line he opened up another counter and took me. When I said I was here for a hitch installation he looked as if I had just stepped off a space ship and asked when had I made the reservation. I said weeks ago and then he asked me for my name and after looking it up very disdainfully said there is another car ahead of me and that I should just wait at the back. I asked how long would it take and he said he does not know but thinks that the other car just came in. I mentioned my request that I be informed of any delays and he again very disdainfully said he does not see any notes (as if it’s my responsibility to put notes into their system) and that all times are just tentative and not final! I said I had taken time off from work and was angry that there will be a delay. He said he can’t help me and it’s not his problem and that it could take over an hour so I should just quietly wait. At this time I said wanted to cancel my order as I will not wait that long and he said sure he would be very happy to do so. He seemed like he just did not care and just like the other guy behind the counter he was doing me a huge favor. From the moment I came in it seemed like all these guys were extremely unhappy to deal with people and just wanted as less to do with them as possible. I will never come back to this location not only due to the delay but also due to the attitude and total lack of any customer service.

Then I leave and call the number on the website and the call center is advising I go back and its 7:15 so when I asked if someone would be there she said no and I asked why is she advising me to go back if no one would be there and quickly hung up the phone. The front desk lady is very nice and helpful, but this is one disorganized place. Getting storage here was a nightmare, and the whole process was incredibly disjunct. No one is there to tell you whats going on! They just wait until you go find someone yourself.

I needed a rush small truck and Jarred was very helpful. Wasnt crazy about the small box trucks upkeep - but I got an adjustment after reporting the problems and that was most appreciated.

Usually only one girl working inside assigning trucks to customers. Multiple men standing around the yard unable to offer assistance, insight., or parking instructions. Expensive. Easy to get into, impossible to get out of.

The self checkout experience that is advertised inside of this location is not available at this location! Could wait up to 45 mins to pickup a truck. Whole process should be automated

There is an African american gentleman who was wearing black jacket and orange hat on Friday the Jan 29th in evening. Who was extremely rude. They didnt have truck that we wanted and told me if u r calling different location which was uhaul. He told get out my facility and stand outside and call. Also said why the hell am I in the building. Get out...... something needs to be done about this gentleman I dont know I would present company with this kind of employees. But other employee that I talked to she went out her way to help me to find uhaul truck within vicinity. She called the north bergen location for me and find out if they had truck available which is something that needs to learn by other employee.

I DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE.

Great source of packing materials at excellent prices. Why are boxes $3 at staples, and the same box is $1 here?

Their services is very very bad. When we arrived to return the car. The stuff make us wait for about 40 minutes and the tell us to unload car on the trailer by ourselves regardless that we dont know how to unload the car from trailer. (Compares to Massachusetts u-hual stuff, who helped us load the car on the trailer and check for the security). They are urge to ask us to tip what they dont deserved.
