Nice but didnt have what I wanted

Was surprised there wasnt a register by the exit into the mall. The signage for a sale on branded jeans seemed deceptive to me. Staffing seemed short but store was well stocked in the area I was looking at.

Store opens an hour AFTER the mall opens. Everyone waits in the hall for them to open. There are hardly any workers there to help you and good luck finding a place to check out. Only 1 register open for the whole store. Nothing like it used to be before COVID.

Unfortunately they dont carry all the merchandise they used too. But I still like to go look around

Its Pennys, you know what to expect, little pricey for basically the same stuff walmart has with a slightly different variant. But they do have escalators, so thats friggin awesome!

This JCPenny, in Joplin, Missouri....is in dire need of a renovation, organization, and cleaning. It felt dirty, stuffy, and rundown. The employees were rude, truly didnt seem very knowledgeable, and I was just trying to make a credit card payment, unfortunately, even that couldnt get done. I dont like leaving such a harsh review, but its more important to me, to be honest. 😏😔

Caught winter sales. Stood in line longer than expected, but staff was helpful. Once a line was noticed, the staff promptly stepped in and got us on our way. Overall a great experience.

Sad that there are very few Penneys stores in the K.C. area. I am new to the Pittsburg answer and I do like the Joplin store.

As a whole my visit was above average. I had several purchases to make and was able to complete a few, but not all. Typical good sales staff support.

Cant believe when I got home pennys didnt bother to remove one freaking security tag off of my clothing and I live 45 mins away. So freaking frustrated!!! Especially when gas is over 3 dollars a gallon!!! There goes 15 more dollars!!

My experience here has been wonderful the staff and employees are amazing they work with you theyre very helpful if you have questions they will help you overall an amazing place to go shopping at sometimes it can be a little bit overpriced but thats where you kind of go to the clearances section and you search and mix and match lol, overall amazing place!

Was looking leather Converse Chuck Taylors, they didnt have any, but they have lots of other stuff to choose from.

I love JC Penny’s for their clothing. I’ve shopped at JC Penny’s since the early 1970’s! I do hope that the Joplin MO store will carry in-house larger sizes of their great clothing lines. I went today to find a winter coat for my daughter who is a 3x. She could only find two to choose from; one black or one white. It was sad that there was so few to pick from. Further the sales tag on the rack stated on sale for $83.99. Wow! But at the register it came up $200.00; What??? Well I had coupons and was able to get the price down to $108. I went back to where the coat was hanging and saw that it applied to a different coat on the rack; of which there were only one remaining. So be careful with signs and what they apply to! My husband wishes for Christmas they would carry more clothes for him as well; 4x in house. Please!!!

I found socks. Saw some nice shirts on the way out. Might have tried one or two on but the maskandate was suffocating.

The workers were super nice and everybody we talked with were very helpful!

Trying to find a jewlery travel bag for my sister and was highly disappointed to not find any at all, even the hanging variety.

Very odd. The racks are not packed with clothes. I had my hair dyed and just a dye job was $100 with shampoo. I could have gone up town, which I probably will do next time and have the same thing done with a cut for $70 and shampoo.

The store is starting to get bare. I lament the loss of retail in these times. Also, there was a live spider crawling about in one of the jewelry display cases.

Pricey too much for most things.

I found a pair of shoes that I could wear and and a pair of boots the prices were great the discounts were great and I had a a great experience.

I meant to put 1 star. Went into salon yesterday and waited in line for our turn. When it was our turn girl at register asked what we need then the phone rings. She answers it then continue to customer service the person on phone and leaves is standing there. So much for waiting turns. Very rude.

I was shopping for new clothes and shoes. Great selection and great prices. They had several really good sales going on. Service was friendly and helpful.

The couple employees that we dealt with were absolutely wonderful and helpful today.

I stood by the jewelry counter for 10 minutes, a salesperson looked right at me and didnt offer to ask me if I could see anything or needed help. I went to Helzberg and bought something there. Just because your store is going bankrupt, doesnt mean your customer service skills have to go bankrupt too.

Went there to get measurements for my wedding tuxedo the clerk there was extremely not helpful took his tape measure around my chest that took 5 seconds and thats all he did and went back behind the counter and he just pointed to where the suits were i for one would not recommend anyone to go there 😡😡 i left there very unhappy and will not go back there ever again

Had a hard time finding a polyester polyester in my size. I am gonna look online yes. But I needed them today unfortunately. One of they salesmen tried looking but no luck. My biggest issue was the fitting rooms. The guy sanitizing them. I felt like I was being treated like as if I was gonna try an steal.(Im not a theif I work hard for my money.) When I finally got into a room it was dirty. Meaning the carpet was nasty like it hadnt been vacuumed or anything in a while. Afterwards, when I was leaving I noticed that some spots in the ceiling was dirty. This location used to be alot better in service an clean.

I hadnt shopped at Penneys for years so was very pleasantly surprised by what they offered. Good sales on what I was looking for and the added percentage of at the check out was an added bonus. The sales person who helped was very pleasant and helpful. Over all it was a nice experience!

My sister & I were shopping at Penneys Northpark Mall location, when we were ready to check out we noticed the line at the only register had about 15 people in it. With a doctor appointment time approaching we did not have time to stand in line, a clerk over heard us talking and suggested we go to the jewelry counter to check out. When we approached the jewelry checker she rudely said I do not have time to help you, I am busy. We put our items on the counter and started to leave, I commented about how rude she was, she apparently heard me and ended her phone conversation and told us that if we would wait a few minutes she would check us out. It is no mystery why they are closing stores with clerks having this attitude and only one check out station.

Honestly the prices are outrageous.. There was some Christmas stockings in the Wrong place for $4.99 and They rang up for $12.99 as a dale price..The cashier had a very snotty demeanor about himself and went to check on the price And when we decided not to purchase the Stockings and told the cashier.. He literally just walked away and said nothing. So rude.. And snotty! Ill Never shop there again.. If That attitude is what Jcp allows.

Linen department was so poorly stocked it looked like they were having a going out of business sale. Turned around and walked out.

Had a great experience at their hair styling salon! Angel had so much patience with my 5 year old granddaughter and did a fantastic job on her haircut! Definitely would highly recommend, and will be going back soon.

Manager needs some training in customer service. I dont know her name since she didnt have a name tag on. My family was there about a month ago. I wish I could remember the lovely associate that helped us. We were looking for jeans that was on a mannequin display. The associate was at the resister desk so we asked her for help. She looked it up and there were 2 more left in the clearance. She was in the middle of letting us know where all the clearance rack jeans were, since they were not all together, when she was interrupted by a manager lady letting her know that there was someone waiting to pay. Ok. Here is the problem. The associate was fantastic. She apologized and said she will be back. I watched this manager go back a several feet away to talk to another manager. They have been talking to each other the whole time we were being helped. As a manager myself, I was not pleased by this example both managers were leaving. Why was it important enough to stop their conversation to let an associate know someone was ready to pay but not important enough to help her by either going to the register or taking over helping us? That is poor management. Maybe mindset should to put customers first. All of them. I watched her run back and forth helping us and going back to the resister while management still having a conversation. I thanked her for help because she was the only one that cared enough. I almost offered her a job at my place. I may still do that if she is still working there. Shame on you management.

The two ladies overseeing the dressing rooms in the womens section were horribly rude and unhelpful. Awful service, long line and disgustingly filthy dressing rooms. Get it together JC Penny.

I wished that I had gotten the sales clerk name but I didnt. She was the most helpful clerk that ever helped me there. I wanted the panties & bra that was on the mannequin. She looked everywhere & even checked the tags to see if it was in the store. I got another set for just 12. But she was very pleasant.

Of all the dying mall stores, hanging on by a tenuous thread, JCP is at the top of the game. So long as you belong to their various promotional programs and utilize the myriad of coupons from mailers and electronic devices, the prices arent too bad. They offer a nice selection of clothing and accessories, including popular intellectual properties from movies, games, and comics. Dont expect much help in store, though. When an employee can be found, they are usually following you around, making sure you arent stealing anything.

Where I buy my workout stuff at decent prices

I dont buy much here because Im 66 210 lb, they dont have much in my size. I enjoy going here once in awhile with my wife to look around and ride the escalator.

They only had one area open downstairs and one up stairs to check out at.

Yesterday my wife returned a pair of shoes, but didnt have her credit card with her. The clerk would not take the return.We returned today and supervisor looked card with the bill. Took return.The clerk the first day should have been able handle this. Maybe more training. All the information was on the computer.
