Excellent indoor range with professional staff, That are kind and friendly, And take guns seriously as they should be, The attendant range officers keep it a good safe place, And helps the inexperienced learn some gun safety, Along with tips and tricks, Prices are fair and good, Along with the range they got a nice store. Cold drinks. And a nice training facility, Me and my dad visited today and had fun, We usually take the guns outdoors but its nice to have A/C so us and the boys usually come here mostly in the summer to shoot

Staff is pretty good, friendly. Had a monthly membership off and on for a while, until they can get the AC fixed, cant justify paying a monthly membership for an indoor range when the AC may or may not be working. In there today, so hot and humid couldnt even see through eye pro, my extra brass sitting on the bench was soaked with condensation. I understand things break but this has been my reason for stopping membership several times now. Really is too bad, decent range but when its like this its not even usable in my opinion.

Check in lady was very nice, told her it was my fiancé and I’d first time and she helped us out through the process and what it is like to shoot at Boyert’s. Range officer was very nice and sincere. The range it self was quite modern. It was really nice. They used an electric dialing system to range out your target by the yard. I didn’t know how to use it at first but great fellow shooters helped me out.5/5

Went here this week for the first time having just gotten my concealed carry permit. Total gun NEWB and had no idea where to go but found this place (thanks Google) and the staff was very helpful! Still debating on what gun to buy so came here to try several different models just to get a feel for a good fit... The counter staff as well as the Range officer were very nice (and patient) with me during the process and helped me pick out several firearms to try... put several rounds through various guns and was able to narrow down my search pretty significantly from my first time here. Will be going back to try some more and plan to purchase once I settle on the model.

Can rapid fire, bring as many guns as you want and stay as long as you want, you pay just by the person and itll run you about 20 bucks including your free target. I recommend bringing your own ammo to save heaps of money. Their rental section is the largest I have ever seen, including numerous full auto pistols and rifles.

Price at register on sign does not reflect actual price for range fee.long story short the range fee says x amount and neglects to mention that it is per hour.after purchasing ammo targets and range fee I shot and then was told my time was up.I then asked where on the sign it said per hour and the employee stated she knew that the sign did not say per hour.so someone else has pointed out that the pricing for the range fee did not reflect a per hour rate .When I asked how this could be fixed I was told that I could pay for another hour.it is very poor customer service to not address the signage to correct this issue.it is very misleading and easy to fix.I shoot multiple times a month and spend multiple hours on range every time I go.I will find a place to go that has better customer service than to be to lazy to change a sign to reflect actual price .

My friend had never shot before (besides my pistol just before) and he was extremely helpful with her.I used to go to Athena, which is a higher end range and it is a bit nicer, but its further, more expensive and not that much nicer for a hobbyist like me. The Boyert Shooting Range in Katy is very nice, I like how everything is clean, from reception, retail area and restrooms. Much nicer than previous owners had it. The retail area is nicely laid out/well lit with items on display, pricing is very good for a full service retail location. All of the staff that I have interacted with have been very polite/helpful and professional. On the range one day I observed Ryan working with a couple that were new to shooting and he got them setup and familiar with the firearm. I see quite a few couples shooting together which is refreshing along with parents and older children. I will always cherish the days I spent shooting with my grandfather and still have the .22 rifle he gave me. Safety: Safety is a priority here and I like their constant watch over everything. They have a lot of different firearms to rent, helpful in case you are considering purchasing that model or just want to have fun. When I decided to get back into the hobby I signed up for an Essentials Class with Rick and it is one on one but also for couples. Rick is an excellent instructor, very good with newbies and really works to instill good habits. And if you are new to shooting/gun ranges dont be shy, just tell them and ask for help...I find them to be very nice people but they do not read minds. I opted for the Guardian membership and its been perfect for me. No range fees, free rentals(3 at time), discounts on purchases, its great. For me this place fills the bill, however my only recommendation for them and they know this is the HVAC in the first section of lanes needs improvement to keep the airflow moving a little better. I continue to come once a week to improve my skills and muscle memory which comes with repetitive handling of the firearm and I really enjoy the time I spend there.

First impressions are very important; unfortunately my first impressions of Boyert leaves me feeling like I should never go back. I came in for the Yuge Black Friday sale, but all I got was a Yuge frustration. First of all the sales prices were so low they werent able to advertise it anywhere - OK understandable. They didnt answer their phones on Black Friday either so I decided to go in to the Katy location. The center looks great (exactly like Athena), and I went straight to look at a gun I was interested in getting - the M&P Shield. Boyert advertised the gun at $357.89 everywhere in the store like the sales flyer and at the display gun itself (pictures attached). Went and got my background checked and paid for the gun and noticed that the price was actually $430. At this point I was thinking 2 things, either this place charged me for the bg check or something else was adding an extra 40 bucks. I looked at the receipt and found that they charged me $397.89 for the gun... I told the rep, sorry, I think this gun is supposed to be $357. the rep checked the computer and responded, oh no, I think someone keyed it in wrong, it should be $397. I see its $397 in the system. I was at a lost for words... I pointed to the display and told the rep it was advertised for $357 and she didnt seem to believe me. I then asked for a return and told the rep Gander Mountain had the same gun for $375 with a $50 gift card. She said I could not return gun purchases and didnt seem to want to do anything to help me (even offered me time at the range), but eventually suggested I talk to a manager albeit reluctantly. After a few minutes, it seemed like someone had really Fed up cause the manager came over, apologized, and offered me a gift card for the $40. Thats right not cash back but A gift card... I wanted to buy my gun at Boyert because I didnt want the trouble of having a gift card from Gander, and now Im again stuck with a GC that is even more useless. I looked around at all the overpriced accessories that I didnt need or couldnt afford with my GC getting more and more angry. My brother then got the idea to exchange the GC for cash from one of the customers that was already looking to buy something. We asked a guy who was empathetic to our situation and offered exact value of cash for our GC. We went and checked the card again, because you never know with Boyert, and finished the trade. Thanks to that generous customer I got my $40 back. In the end, I still paid the tax on the $40 I was overcharged on so Im still down about $3.20. The whole ordeal was just over-the-top ridiculous, and I was almost scammed out of $40. I only gave these guys 1 star because they tried to make it right and they have a decent selection of overpriced firearms that were okay priced on black Friday. I wont be going back and I hope you will take my crazy visit as a warning.

My first time trying out this place was a Tshirt Tuesday. The employee at check-in wasnt friendly nor excited to greet me. The range was hot and smoky. I tried to use the big fan they had but it would only blow my target so that didnt work. Could use better ventilation. Seem like a health hazard to shoot in there. Note that there was only 4 to 5 shooters in the room. Please try to improve on this issue. At this point, outdoor range seem like a healthier choice.

Absolutely stellar facility and staff, all around. This is of the highest tier in the area.As soon as you walk in the front door, you know youre dealing with a top-notch firing range. The staff was immediately responsive and made you feel like family before you ever reach the counter. The shooting range itself is among the best in the greater Houston area, with a wide selection of firearms for rental and plenty of ammunition on hand for purchase. Prices were extremely fair and competitive, especially considering the exceptional state of the facility itself. Hearing protection is provided with every range session, which was a nice bonus, and the range safety officers were all very kind, informative, and supportive to shooters of every skill level. In the range, bays are divided by opaque, finely decored dividers that give shooters a nice sense of privacy. Each bay is outfitted with an electronic target carrier system, which while it was a little confusing to use at first, quickly becomes second nature.Moving on to the retail portion of the facility, Boyert also offers a significant amount of retail products for purchase. They have great displays set up for each model of firearm they offer, which lets you easily get a feel for the firearm in your own hand without having to feel like youre bothering a sales associate each time you want to hold a different firearm. They also offer a wide range of accessories, which was a nice bonus.Overall, Ive been to a number of ranges here in the greater Houston area and Boyert impressed me on every level. So much so that I took advantage of their membership package, which provides shooters with even more bonuses including waived range fees, discounts on ammo and firearm purchases, and much more.I cant recommend this place highly enough, if youre interested in shooting, regardless of skill level, give Boyert Shooting Center a shot and you will not be disappointed!

Interesting. But I ask why? Other ranges Ive been to are 1/3 the price and let you shoot as long as you like. I own a ranch so its hard to justify spending money when I shoot for free and pop off as many rounds as I like as fast as I want. Personally these indoor ranges are always over priced. Find an outdoor range. Drive there and I guarantee you will be happy with your time and money. Last time I went $7 dollars no time limit and nobody judging you or telling you what to do. What else can I say boys. Tell me your better and charge more? I dont think so. We are just shooting our own guns and ammo. What do you offer other than indoor and AC? I tell you what. Offer me a free 3 hour trial and I will inform my gun club about you and tell them to visit you guys with my recommendation. Your move guys.....

I have zero background in guns or shooting. Purchased my first firearm, a Sig P365, a week ago, and went to a range for the very first time. The only time I had used a firearm before was during my CHL certification class, and it was in presence of the instructor. I paid for the lane, got a safety briefing, picked my target, and went inside to shoot - by myself - for the very first time. I was very nervous and looked around to see what shooters in the other lanes around me were doing. I set my target at 10 yards just like the other shooters did. I load my gun and start shooting,m. As with any newbie, I was shooting all over the target, with many shots even missing the target completely. Halfway through shooting the second round of my 10 round magazine, I felt a pat on my shoulder that got me really startled, as I didn’t know or wasn’t expecting anyone at the range. The gentlemen introduced himself as Rick. I believe he is one of the instructors there (I couldn’t hear his full introduction due to my ear protection and the loud shooting noises around us). Being a nerve wrack as I was, I turned around, not realizing that my gun was pointed at him and finger was still on the trigger. He instantly calmed me down and instructed me to put my gun down. He had been observing me shooting and had rushed to tell me to not hold the gun the way I did when I was shooting. I wasn’t holding it right and could’ve easily ended up getting a slide bite injury. From that point on, he patiently imparted me a lot of knowledge - from basic gun etiquettes - to correct shooting stance and grip - to fundamentals of trigger control - and the right way to align the sights. The most important thing he taught me was to start with 4 yards and graduate from there as I got better. He patiently spent good 10 minutes with me, calmly explaining at least 2 or 3 times, and even demonstrating it with his own handgun. He taught me in 10 minutes what my CHL instructor, and various so called “shooting experts” on YouTube couldn’t teach me in hours. I am very grateful to Rick; his gesture has earned Boyert a lifetime customer in me. The sales staff was very courteous and helpful as well.

Saturday was my first visit there. Please know that they offer a military discount, but it is not advertised. You need to ask for it upfront. They were very nice, and refunded my money to get the military discount and I thank you for that.I was in the military (early 70s) before women were allowed to qualify, so I am not an experienced shooter. My husband was with me (Marine), so he was knowledgeable, and when I did something wrong (I took the gun from my husbands open palm), some guy came over and told me I was doing something wrong. It was VERY hard to hear (wearing ear protection), and dark, so it was hard for me to understand what I was supposed to be doing. The range knew it was my first time, so it would have been nice to have someone nearby besides my husband to help me. When I was clearly struggling - it would have been nice to maybe have a little extra help. We ended up leaving the booth we were in after 15 minutes. It turns out the gun I had (Beretta 950BS minx, 22 short auto pistol) was probably not the best starter gun to use, and the guy in the gun shop took an incredible amount of time to help me with looking at guns, explaining why what I had was probably not the best gun to start with, and we were able to settle on a different gun to purchase (which I am coming in this week to purchase). I also think I want a lazer and the guy in the gun shop bent over backwards to make me feel like I was spending a million dollars (instead of $500) and the only one important at that time (which is why I AM going back and purchasing from him).If somehow they can get the level of customer service in the gun shop into the actual firing range, that would be AWESOME.Overall, it was a good visit - it could have been better, so I am rating it a 4 stars, but the gun shop should get 6 stars!! Hopefully after reading this you can look into knowing when a brand new shooter is in your range, and offer a little more walk-though help - or at least offer it.

Very good selection of guns if you want to try before you buy. It gets busy during the weekend but then again its a popular place. Have fun.

The staff is welcoming but they do not seem very happy to be dealing with people. Their prices are pretty high for an indoor range. They have their store set up like they are selling very fine and expensive firearms but they dont have much that is truly different from other stores. Their range is disappointing. The target runners are an old design that should be replaced with something more user friendly and their air quality is atrocious. After a few minutes of shooting the air was heavy with smoke. Would not recommend unless you have no where else to go.

Went there this past Saturday with my wife and we had a great time. This was our first time to shoot our new Glock. The staff was very nice and helpful, especially Mr. Black. The gun shop looked like brand new and had good priced ammo. Cant wait to go back this weekend.

Best indoor range in the Houston area.1. Range goes out to 25 yds. Huge plus since most indoor ranges only do 15-20.2. Electronic target pulley system is fast. Calculates down to the yd.3. Magnets on the lane dividers hold targets for marking, pasting, or shot group analysis.4. GOOD VENTILATION which is a must for indoors!5. Nice storefront with lots of demo guns (glock, sig, s&w, hk, beretta, walther, cz). Good selection of rifles. Great selection of suppressors. Prices are competitive.6. Indoor range allows shotguns with buck or birdshot.7. Also allows 7.62x51 / .308 rifles which isnt very common.8. Clean facilities.9. Will definitely take one of their training courses they offer in the future.10. Lets your bring your own targets unlike some other big ranges in the houston area.

I visited Boyert yesterday for the first time since the Big change, I keep getting asked if they are open so I walked over to see. Ive not yet shot there but their prices are very competitive. guns, ammo and stuff. and all the staff I interacted with were polite and professional. Look people, Tactical Firearms is gone, get over it. Its their range, their rules. Go shoot in the park. did anyone ask why most indoor ranges dont shoot #9 shot ? or why trick shooting is best done in the hills ? (I know everyone is perfect and accidents only happen to those other noobs, and not to you, but the best way not to fall off the hood of a moving car is to be buckled in the seat with the doors closed). and every other range I go to requires carrying cases... you can buy them for $9.00 . Ill be honest, I didnt read one real review here. yall sound like the newlywed husband bitching because the new wife doesnt cook it like his Mom did. Ill go over and shoot this week so I can give a true reviewThanks, Scott Morris, Katy TX.

I came to this range yesterday expecting nothing more than a lane and a target. Everybody there was helpful and friendly and willing to help. I felt very safe while i was shooting unlike some houston area outdoor ranges. Range fee is a little steep but well worth it. I will be returning.

The staffs in the range is very professional and friendy. This is an indoor range, which features air conditioning and semi closed shooting lane for convenience. You can post and retrieve the targets at any time without the need of waiting for ceasefire like some other outdoor range. You can post the target anywhere between 0 and 25 yard top. You can shoot any weapon and the price is based on the time not on how many weapons you have. So good for people with multiple firearms. They also provide firearm rental from pistol to fully automatic weapon.

My last two visits to this store have been very disappointing. I tried buying a rifle that had to be ordered, the sales guy took my information and I was promised a call back for the final price and to place the order, however I never received a call. The second time I called for some possible work by the gunsmith. I was told to come by and talk to the gunsmith about the work I needed and for a price estimate. I show up and the gunsmith was unavailable, and again was promised a call back which I never received. After both of those times I have been able to go to another store and walk out with exactly what I was looking for. I have purchased a couple of guns from them in the past that they had in stock, so my guess is that if it isnt an easy sale they are not interested, or my business is just not important enough for a call back. The store it self is nice, but after these last two experiences I will never return for ANY of my firearm needs.

Second visit to range today with group of 3. Both times same experience: friendly staff, reasonable prices, range enjoyable up until the minute someone shows up with the elephant gun...enjoyed about 15 mins of the hour and hated the other 45 due to elephant guns. Noticed many other shooters bothered as well. Ranges need to find a solution for this...segregating the large caliber guns or something else. Doubt I will be back.

Wife and I walked in with shotguns to shoot. Neither of us have bags but this has never been a problem. Both guns were unloaded with the chambers clearly open and the barrels pointed up at all times. We were told to leave because of safety concerns (the alternative was to buy one of there bags, how convenient). Might have considered this acceptable if I didnt see that the customer at the counter (clearly uneducated in guns) was literally pointing the AR rifle for rent directly at the employee behind the counter. This seemed to not be a problem to anyone nor pose any kind of safety concern. Great start to a brand new range....Thought it was worth the update from so many thinking all these are fake reviews and are simply pissed tactical is gone. In fact, I would counter and say many of the good reviews tend to read fake to boost the rating. I did go to tactical and did enjoy it but had no loyalty other then the distance from my house. This range could have easily taken that place and quite frankly I was hoping it would. To see such contrasting issues (being told bag is required for safety but customers pointing guns at employees as they say this) is the problem. Granted it was a somewhat short exchange, but they were rude and appeared to be uneducated. Not all gun ranges require bags and its important to note you can legally walk down the street with a loaded shotgun without a bag and no CHL. The story was of a friend who shot himself after range shooting and I was their personally to see it and so we require bags, its best and for your safety. Really? Teach actual gun safety, of which, a bag is not. Dont EVER point a gun at anything living unless you mean to pull the trigger, including yourself! I did shoot this day at another range (not worth the mention as again, no loyalty, only proximity to my house) and they simply laughed when I told them of the no bag no shoot policy. To them, point it up and if there is any safety issues from me theyd toss me out. Sure, fair enough.

First time at the Katy range. Got right in. Everything was cool with a diverse group of people shooting their hand guns. Then this guy pulls out this elephant gun and the whole room shook. :( Maybe they should group shooters by the type of weapon they will be shooting?About 20 minutes into the session, the room got very humid and our glasses kept on getting fogged-up. All five groups left. I complained to the staff. Answer was that it rained yesterday. Maybe they should fix their HVAC. Cant shoot if you cant see.
