A very friendly and professional place, I can go to several changes that are much closer but when I find the level of professionalism, knowledges, variety of products and knowledge I don’t mind an extra 20 miles. Range officers are very good and won’t compromise safety but still manage to make it friendly and helpful. If you want high quality and friendly services which sadly seems to be lacking in today’s businesses, don’t look elsewhere

I dont typically write reviews, but this place upset me so much. :( Whomever the manager is with I believe the initials MR needs to get a reality check. He has glasses and salt and pepper hair. I dont care who does it - but someone needs to explain to him why he shouldnt be rude or condescending to his female customers. The way he spoke to me was absolutely ridiculous. I ended up just walking out of the store. My boyfriend, who stayed back to gather our things, was given a free hour....?!?! He knows he messed up. We arent going back to this place again. Unbelievable.

This location and team was outstanding! We are novice, new gun owners. Everyone was very informative and patient with us as we reviewed our options. I was looking for a sig X5 legion. I wanted to touch it and compare it to the RXP, so I didn’t want to order online. Everyone in the state was sold out. I found 1 in Lakeland. I drove from Miami. The salesman was good and gave me time to feel and touch each weapon. Fast transaction. They matched an online price. I would by from again.

Outdated. I rather go to shooters world. Where i dnt have to take a guesstamite if my target is at exactly 7 yds with that outdated system. I can go to shooters world where i know exactly how far my target is.

I wanted to rewrite this review to better serve a purpose. Shoot Straight has quickly become the most reputable and honest retailer of firearms I’ve ever been to in the country. Most of their staff are very knowledgeable of firearms. They often have very very competitive pricing, too. I enjoy coming here. I’ve gotten absolutely incredible deals on buying firearms from them. They’ve beaten even the cheapest online prices.As an example, I picked up a new Remington 870 Hardwood Home Defense for $349. That put me at $378 out the door. The absolute cheapest online price I could find using a special engine that scans all online retailers... was $382 after shipping and transfer.Specifically speaking of the Lakeland location I can attest that everyone who works here is more than qualified to sell you and inform you about almost everything in the store. Very good people. I have grown to love this place more than my own home.To Paul, David, Craig, and all general employees I want to personally thank each and every one of you for providing the absolute best firearms retail experience. Bought my first pistol here and was impressed with the attention given but when I went back to buy my 2nd pistol had a completely different experience. Felt like I was just number, no personal interaction, felt like I was imposing. So bought my next 2 pistols and my first rifle elsewhere. Wont buy from them again.

June 09, 2020 was my first visit to Shoot Straight. The experience was very pleasant and I was impressed by the large inventory and reasonable pricing. While at the Lakeland location I was assisted by associates who were very courteous and helpful. I am very happy with my new Springfield Saint! I will definitely be back to add to my firearms collection.

Okay so I’m not one to write reviews or anything but this one is definitely warranted. A lot of the recent reviews are about an incident I watched unfold.There were some kids shooting in the range that lied about their age to get in. Once the employees caught on to the lie they politely asked them to leave and offered them a refund. Once they got to the counter, the main kid started shouting curse words at the employee behind the register. That’s when the bigger employee asked the group to just leave. They shouted back and forth and EVEN AFTER THAT THEY REFUNDED SOME OF THEIR MONEY I WATCHED THE KID TAKE THE CASH BACK.The cops had to come escort the kids out they were irate and trying to cause a scene. Absolutely disrespectful, had they not come out with the worst attitude over a situation their lies created they would have Gotten their money back.Now obviously they have started a campaign of their little friends to post bad reviews so here is mine.I have never had a bad experience at the Lakeland store. David T has always been a great help and I’ve never had a bad encounter with any other employee no matter the hour of my transaction or the frequency of my patronage. They are always wearing their black masks and even adjusted their hours in order to combat the COVID 19 situation. These reviews are completely incorrect and I highly suggest anyone being deterred by them go to the store yourself and see how wrong they are.

I came here last week to make a firearm purchase and Samuel was my salesman. He was very knowledgeable and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I came back to purchase more things today and my salesman was Aaron. He was very courteous and knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me with more information that I requested. I was so enthused with the two salesman that I got that I had to speak to the manager named Paul to thank him. Paul was so incredibly kind and also helped me with bits of information that I hadn’t even requested! It was all around an amazing experience to come to this shop. I also want to note that I’m a woman and coming to a gun shop alone can be intimidating at first, but these guys made my experience so easy and welcoming. They truly treated me with tons of respect, and did not degrade me or mock me in the slightest. I am so excited to come back on mondays when they offer ladies free shooting range! What an amazing thing to do for the ladies! Overall super helpful, informative, and they make you feel safe, and relaxed which is exactly what I needed. Thanks guys! Will be coming again soon! Shoot Straight is a high quality shop with very knowledgable, professional, and friendly staff. They took the time to show me several guns and help me decide which was the best fit for me. They have an indoor range, which is fabulous in Florida, and offer free range time after a pick up to allow you to try out and get comfortable with your gun.

I came here last week for the first time to go to the range and I found a nice place with excellent customer service and the most important part is that they allowed the customers to wear the safety mask to protect against covid-19...another gun stores dont allow customers to wear mask for safety reasons but this place is all about safety...thanks to keep your customers safe.

Good gun store with a pretty wide selection. Clean range, but the range fees are astronomical. 18 for an hour. 9 for a kid.In the past theyd let you go over, but recently theyve been tight about it.When Im paying 30 bucks not including targets and ammo... Give a little grace.If Im shooting for 3 hours, Im probably buying 3 hours worth of supplies too.

Very friendly people. Help me buy my handgun and the guy who help me which is name was Craig was very helpful. He was very patience with me and answer all of my questions. They had a large sections of gun and I thought the prices were very reasonable. Also when I was there we use the shooting range. It was good and it has air conditioning. Also on Mondays the ladies are free. So I will definitely be there on Mondays.

I Purchased two new guns over this past weekend. Craig, Kyle, and Chris were all very helpful with all questions and needs that I had. Also, their ammo prices, for .45 ACP were still affordable in my opinion. $20 for 50 rounds 😳. Great store and excellent clerks to work with you and help you with all your firearm needs.

Go somewhere else to purchase what you need. Incompetent staff. Ordered the weapon in store, filled out the background paperwork. I was called and told the weapon was in and I could pick it up. Go there and wait for over an hour because they only wanted to have 1 person helping people pickup. 8 people waiting and it took them 45 minutes to help the guy in the front. I waited only to find out they didnt order the background check and I would have to come back. Unacceptable. Waste of my time. I will not shop there again.

Great range and friendly people. I heard that there were some rude people that work there but that has not been the case for me. The prices on somethings are high but on others they are competitively matched. The pistol range is AWESOME because there are a lot of lanes. The rifle range is nice too but only three lanes.

Buyer beware, check and double what you purchased. I went to the store in Lakeland, told the clerk what I wanted, Ruger PC Carbine, model 19122, he showed me what appeared this weapon, I agree to purchase weapon, plus a Red Dot sight. They also agreed to bore sight the weapon for me, they did not. I was called and told me the paper work cleared and to pick up the weapon. I came to the store and he produce a box which stated the weapon I purchased, I glanced inside and it appears to be the weapon. On arrival home I remove the weapon from the box to discover it was not the weapon I ordered. I called Straight Shot, spoke with the manager he stated sorry about that and I could not exchange the weapon for the correct one so I am stuck with it.

Ive bought several pistols, rifles an shotguns from these guys. Just bought a pistol today. Jonathan helped me and he is a very knowledgeable young feller. These guys know their stuff and are very friendly and easy to deal with. I shall return.....thanx guys.

I visited Shoot Straight today and Marisa was waiting on me until a gentleman who she may have knew or a previous customers walked up. While she was taking care of me she started a full Conversation and even walked off to give him a hug. It didn’t end there, she continued to engage into a full conversation as if I was invisible. Eventually, I just walk off and stated to her to continue into her conversation as she did! Honestly, Stephen came to wait on me but was in middle of training someone at the Register. Finally, I rather take my cash somewhere else where the customer service is much better.

This location has improved seriously form the last couple of years as far as service and the store is mostly well stocked, all things considered. Employees are very delightful. Prices can be a bit high on certain items but other than that its worth a visit.

Great range. They allow you to bring in your own personal ammo, as long as it is commercial grade. The range has two sections: one dedicated for handguns and the other for rifles. The rifle sections surprisingly only has three dedicated lanes, which one of them is a sitting lane. At the time of our visit, one of the three lanes was under maintenance. Also to add further, the range of the rifle lanes isnt the greatest. It is roughly 100-150 meters, and theres no visual markings to identify how far your target is. Speaking of target, this establishment doesnt carry a large variety of targets, but it has enough to get the job done. Regardless I had a blast at this range.

Jeremy is an asset. While workink with me on my large purchase he also worked with my mother who was only buying ammo. She rambled off 7 different round sizes and round types. Without blinking an eye Jeremy was able to quote price and availability, again while jugling my transaction.

So i decided to makemy first purchase online through them. Everything went smoothly i followed up after 3 day waiting period to see if my pistol had arrived, they said they would check immediately recieved a call back that it was in. Really appreciate that!!. Went in had to wait in line for 20 mins due to thefact that they are so personable to every person they deal with and respectful of social distancing, in my opinion they have a great business model and execute it to a t. Staff is amazing and they do their best to see every one is being taking care of by going down the line of people what theyre picking up if they need paperwork, its nice to see a level of professionalism in a gun shop. It’s a great place to go I’ve been shooting there ever since I was 7 years old and every gun that my dad owns is from there. I have not had one complaint for shoot straight. Staff treats u like there own family. I recommend to go there it’s worth it.

This place is great. Quiet, professional staff, nice indoor gun range. They have one or two lanes for rifle (mostly for sighting in your rifle). I’ve been there a few times and it’s worth the 55 minute drive for me.

Thought id take the time to say that my experience at shoot straight was nothing less than perfect!Today was my 21st birthday and ive been looking forward to purchasing my FIRST handgun! So i ventured down to the Shoot Straight in Lakeland where i was welcomed by a wonderful lady named Hailey! All the questions i had were answered with the up most patience and friendly attitude Ive ever seen in customer service and she managed to make me and my dad laugh multiple times. The pricing was very reasonable, and the overall attitude of the store seemed very family friendly! I managed to buy a new Sig 365 XL and im looking forward to picking it up this Saturday along with getting a year membership to the range when i come in!Thank you for having an amazing staff and i look forward to doing more business here in the future!

I feel that if you are new to guns or need some knowledgeable help .. by FAR shoot straight is the place .!! There prices are a little bit higher but for that you receive extremely friendly staff and knowledge

Staff exhibits too much testosterone induced militaristic style image in dealing with good paying customers. I doubt the public appreciates the unnecessary obnoxious attitude directed at them. Many of us are also ex-military and have been handling guns before some of the staff was born.

Large selection of quality new and used firearms and shooting supplies. Staff is typically very good to deal with and you dont usually get the Mall Commando Know it all thats unfortunately seen far too often at many places behind the counter. Their pistol and rifle ranges are very well maintained and monitored for safety.

Great service, very knowledgeable people willing to help get you excited about a new hobby!

As you read this review, please remember this is only MY opinion on their website not the store or the employees. The website needs an update. It is antiquated and difficult to navigate. There is a lack of information almost to the point of looking like its being hidden, which is very unlike the store or employees. The site itself is not user friendly which is not a good representation of the corporation or its mission statement. Overall the stores are fantastic, the employees are top notch so the website should match what you are presented when you open a door to one of their stores.

Been here twice wanting to buy a handgun. Not only overpriced but rude customer service. Have bought 5 firearms from shooters in that time. I just want to say thank you to shoot straight.

**NOT ALL SHOOT STRAIGHTS ARE THE SAME**I have been loyal to Shoot Straight for years, at least to the locations in Largo and Tampa. This is a franchise like owned business that has poor customer service and a broken down range. To start, the store itself has about a $200 mark up on each firearm. The customer service is so poor that there is a sense of comedic relief as to how miserable the employees appear to be. They smoke vapes and chew tobacco in the store, but then again, this is Lakeland.Surely something must be nice about this place, right? It definitely wasnt the range, lanes were broken down, rifle range was unavailable, the target clips and pyramids were dysfunctional and need replacement. There were no signs as to which lanes are broken and naturally the employees were not going to step out of their misery to notify us.I gave one star for the one fantastic sales rep I had over TWO YEARS AGO when purchasing a new can. The other star is for the title ll weapons they sell, these dealers can be few and far between. However, for the excessive mark up and poor service, take your money somewhere else.

I recently stopped into Shoot Straight in Lakeland for the first time looking for a specific muzzle device. I was a bit curious why I was the only customer there in the middle of the day. They didnt have it in stock which was no big deal. I looked around a bit while i was there, and I could see why they didnt have any customers. Their prices were outrageous and their staff were acting very unprofessional. I have been to the Tampa store many times, and every time Ive been there it is packed. The Tampa store has far better pricing. It was obvious that these stores arent owned or operated by the same entity. I will not return to the Lakeland store.

Had gone with the family to this range on Sunday afternoon. we like the fact that it has a large glass window if someones not shooting and wants to watch. The selection for targets was limited hope they add more. I did not like how the ac system was right over the lane and maybe because its 40 outside it was so cold. Overall smooth process but could use a little updating.

Theyve provided fast, reasonably friendly service in the 5 or so times Ive visited. A very few employees have exuded a twinge of that gun store air-of-superiority vibe but have always been helpful and highly competent.When I needed help with a gun whose sight was buggered, they were *VERY* helpful.Regarding the range, yes, theyre are attentive to the rules but not obnoxiously so. Great gun & accessory selection explained by helpful staff. One lane of the range has a bent arm thats been in need of repair for some time.Overall Ive been very pleased.

I am confined to a wheelchair and it is difficult getting into the range through the double doors...however the staff could not be more helpful in accommodating me. They hang my target, adjust my fan and then watch for when Im through and help me back out. They are courteous,friendly and knowledgeable about their products! My wife and I have bought several firearms and they are very fair and priced accordingly. Will buy many more Im sure! If I could rate them higher I would!

Every time that I have been up here I have been impressed with their prices and customer service. This last visit however, an employee named kyle assisted me. He is truly a beacon of inspiration within the retail community and all others should aspire to achieve his level of product knowledge and customer service. The guys in the shooting range area especially the female that works there were extremely kind and helpful. A great experience dealing with them. There was however one dude behind the gun sales counter that could not have been ruder. Nuff said. Overall I would go back and shoot there and buy a gun there. There were guys behind the gun sales counter that were professional and helpful as well.Maybe that one dude was just having a bad day and spreading the favor.

This place is amazing. My new toy store so many guns for sale, such variety. The shooting range looks really nice. They have a section for pistol and a section for rifles. I believe both are 25 yards

The in-store and over the phone customer service have been excellent. I was frustrated about my order taking a week longer to arrive than I was told it would be, but other than that, completely satisfied and looking forward to spending more time there. I have to think some of these 1 star reviews are bogus. I got a yearly membership and have been there dozens of times. I never was treated rudely by any of the staff, quite opposite. Plenty of pistol lanes. Only 3 rifle lanes both 25 yards. As far as range fees I think they are comparable to most anywhere else. I would not buy a gun from any of these big chain locations because they are always on the high end of retail prices. Like anything else shop around whether it be smaller local gun stores or reputable places online. I think anyone who was yelled at probably was not being safe in some way with their firearm which could be deadly for them or someone else. Some people do not need to handle a gun, period.

Every time I visit this site I feel like the store part is way nicer than the range. In the range, the common problems are the ac vents and the target lines are broken. I go here to practice with my firearms more than I do to buy them. I have found better prices at many different stores.

The indoor shooting range was pretty decent. Large shop with a good supply of guns and ammo. Plenty of staff on hand. A few years ago they were quite unfriendly, almost rude... But the last 2 times we went something had changed and they were friendly and helpful.

They have the best inventory in polk county. Very helpful staff and very knowledgeable also. Like Ive said... They dont have it, you dont need it! Love that place!

As usual, very helpful staff that took time with my spouse and I. Nice to see customer service is not dead at this store [Shoot Straight Lakeland]. The P238 I bought shot well and held a reasonable tight pattern - very acceptable for my spouse. The Kimber Ultra 45 caliber is still the most accurate. Thanks to all for the help, and the staff is great. We look forward to visiting again, and going to the range.

It is a great place to go and see great looking firearms you can even go in the back and shoot them. I just hope you have the money to be able to pay what they want you to pay. Very expensive.

Theyve got a lot to look at but their customer service sucks and their prices are too high. do yourself a favor and go to Derringer or any other firearm sales facility. Thank God, they are not the only firearm dealer in town. My advice is to go there find something you like hold it in your hand then order it online and have it shipped to Derringer for $45 over cost

Great store, great people, great experience. The negative reviews on here are probably bogus. I know several people that use the range regularly, as do I, and have bought several firearms from them with no problems or issues at all. Some accessory prices might be high from time to time but that fluctuates with normal supply and demand. Become a member and receive discounts on some items. No issues whatsoever.

Paid $699.00 for a gun for my daughters safety. Gun repeatedly jammed on first trial before leaving store. Store sent it for repair. Did not have confidence in that particular gun for my daughters safety. Requested that store replace it or give refund instead. Owner refuses to replace or give refund. The advertise 100% satisfaction guarantee. We clearly are not satisfied.

UPDATE 7/19/2016 I received a letter from Steve B that explained the misunderstanding. He made the situation right. I was impressed that he made the attempt to reach out. I rarely even hear of that happening. I have to give him credit.Purchased a rifle and free floater at the tune of 1400$. Was offered to leave my rifle and have the handguard installed for free. I said Id give the installation a try. I was told, by a very nice gentleman who I took to be the owner, if I had any problems bring it back and theyd install it gratis. I decided it was beyond me so I dropped it off. Went to pick the weapon up and the gentleman behind the counter said he needed to check with his boss. He walked 15 across the store and asked him. The manager then spoke loudly within the store asking me questions to substantiate my claim and ultimately shook his head and said write it off. In my opinion, he lacked the minimum professional standards I expect in personal business, specifically in firearms. He made no attempt to approach me, verify the firearm, go into his bound book, or check my paper application to confirm the sale. I paid my twenty dollars as a matter of principle. Small price to pay to learn how a company chooses to conduct business. I dont plan to go back.

Go somewhere else for a gunsmith. I’m writing this review because I am more frustrated with the customer service. I called ahead to see if they gunsmith was in and was told yes. It took me 30 min to drive over and he was gone for the day....they opened at 10, I called at 10, and he left 30 min into the day.When I got there most of the staff was sitting together eating breakfast or maybe an early lunch, who knows. I was told the gunsmith had gone for the day and that he typically only comes in for 15-20 min at the start of the day and wasn’t coming back. Would have been nice to know that when I called and before wasting an hour of my time driving there and back.

I went to the range on Sunday with my husband and we both paid $18 each. Its been a while since I had been shooting and so I needed to get back into it. The noise is hard for me and I was trying to adjust while my husband was getting ready for a certification. Then one of the employees came Ive and said we had to use 1 lane mean while if he would have come here by himself and I would have in which we both paid our admission just like the others to be told we had to be in the same lane. We ended up leaving before the hour was up anyways but dont remember seeing anywhere range fee was by the hour. So they pretty much ran us off for good unnecessarily. Luckily for us its not the only range in the area.

They were not attentive

Great place! The people working were very friendly and helpful with gun selection. I would recommend to a friend or family member. Plus the county doesnt have a 3 day wait for ARs, which is a nice perk.

I have been going here since they opened. The great staff is the reason I always return. Dan, the manager, is always taking time to talk to me when I come in. Carl has helped me with accessories for every weapon system I have. I will always choose this store as long as the staff and management stay the same. Thank you

Knowledgeable and friendly staff that are not driven by pressure or sales commission. Informed me to wait and buy a week or two later when there was a sizeable sale.The CCW class was also fun, friendly and extremely informative. Theres a lot of info packed into that tiny class.The indoor range has air conditioning vents pointing on each stall to keep you cool.

Store closes at 9pm. Show up at 7:30pm and get told we only have 30mins to shoot. The guy behind the counter says the range closes at 8pm and says they still want full price to shoot for a half hour...if I could rate this place with 0 stars I would. Some of the staff is friendly and helpful...some of them are pretty cocky and full of themselves and dont know the difference between a sneeze and a wet fart. wont be back

Great selection of firearms. Most salesmen are excellent! One sales lady is quite unhelpful with problems (I bought a new firearm with a defective trigger, and upon taking it back to the this store, she was not helpful in explaining how to send it to the manufacturer.)

In door range is like all of the other shoot straight ranges, plenty of handgun lanes. You can get range ammo when you sign in and pay for the range if you forgot yours at home. Usually no shortage of firearms or ammo or rifle / pistol accessories.

Went into the shop my first time was great customer service and I signed up for a conceal carry class

Horrible customer service, we were the only ones in the range for our first time no rules were given to us. My target kept falling off so everyone stepped back with guns on the counter and one of our friends went like 2 feet to pick up the target, The Josh came out yelling at us though he wasnt paying attention to anything else and kicked us out with out a warning. Pretty sure he just wanted us out so he could close it down since we showed up 30 min before they closed because when we called we were told 9 and when we arrived they advised that was just the hours of the store and the range closed at 8. After getting out of the room he said sorry bout that I said its fine we just made a donation but we will not be back his response was thats ok.
