My Grand Cherokee was hit in a parking lot and I chose to come to LaFontaine Body Shop for the work to be done. I worked with Joe and he was fabulous. I felt taken care of, the work looks fantastic and Joe was wonderful to work with. In today’s world, good customer service is priceless. Joe and LaFontaine treated me very well! I came in for oil change and tire rotation. My service was done promptly and i was out by the estimated finished time. I really appreciated I could bring my new puppy in for some socialization. Ron was absolutely wonderful. We discussed what I was looking for, what my budget was, and he really did the foot work to deliver exactly what I was looking for. I only had to test drive one vehicle because he truly listened to my needs. The vehicle is now in my driveway and treating me well! I had 2 dashboard warning lights coming on. I had previously taken it to a different Jeep dealership in Lansing, where they told me that they could end up having to make several repairs before they found the actual problem, and that I really should just get a new vehicle. La Fontaine gave me explanations of what was needed and why, replaced the computer part, and resolved the problem. They were very professional and efficient. I highly recommend their service department.
LaFontaine did an excellent job with your Jeep Wranglers oil change.Oil was filled exactly to the full line, and the vehicle was returned in excellent condition.I highly recommend LaFontaine for the go-to service center for your Jeep vehicle.Unfortunately, we had to purchase our Wrangler out of town, as the sales end of the dealership was not willing to negotiate a reasonable sale price.LaFontaine offered $2,000 off the MSRP of a custom ordered Wrangler.... we negotiated $5,000 off MSRP at a dealer in Grand Rapids.But.... LaFontaine seems to do good service work.
I didnt purchase my truck from Lafontaine. I have customized my truck a bit. LaFontaine has fixed every issue that has come up because of my choices of upgrades. When I purchased new tires and wheels. Lafontaine got my sensors working again. Something 3 tire places failed to do. When I had repairs done to my lift. LaFontaine corrected the minor issues overlooked at another shop. Got me set up and safely back on the road. The honesty and integrity from Matt, Mitch, & Drew have shined through in a couple tough situations recently. These guys have earned my business as every turn. Above and Beyond! Joe Adkins the production manager in the Lafontaine collision center is awesome. He takes customer service to a new level of caring, communicating and perfection! Joe kept me updated on the progress of my vehicle repairs, and I was never left wondering when my vehicle would be done. He went out of his way to get me a loaner car. Joe made sure that all the work done was perfect and done right. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend laFontaine and specifically Joe!!
Overall the service was great, had no problems there. What upset me was I purchased a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup as is. I checked out everything before purchasing, except I couldnt check the air conditioning to see if it was working properly because it was cold the day I test drove it,(bought it in March). I bought the truck and bought the extended warranty, thinking everything would be covered. The first warm day we had I went to turn on the AC and it blew warm. I made an appointment thinking it just needed a recharge and I figured they would cover it since I couldnt have been able to test it before purchasing. I was correct that it just needed recharging but I received a bill for over $500 to recharge it. I argued that it wasnt fair that I had to pay for the service. Because nothing was broken in the AC system, it was considered regular maintenance and not covered on my warranty, so I was responsible for the expense. This ended up eating most of my savings account. I feel that I wasnt treated very fairly. It kinda put a damper on what was a great experience when I purchased the truck. The moral of the story is to make sure everything is working properly, especially the AC when buying car as is...
I bought a Jeep Renegade. The Vehicle was a little more than I wanted to pay before fees. After fees it was way more than I wanted to pay, but luckily I have a good salesman (Maverick) who was able to get about $1,000 of fees waved. This keep the Jeep in a price I could make work. Beware of the extended warranty they will try to sell you when you go in to sign the insurance is good if you do not drive very much but if you do I would recommend looking elsewhere. Thankfully for my case I opted in for the insurance until I calculated out how fast I would go through 100,000 miles. I went back to them the next day and their champ of a finance man reworked the numbers and got the warranty taken off my loan.
GREAT experience! Took our 2011 Chrysler 200 in for repairs - turned out to be mostly work covered under warranty. Recalls. What!? Then, after two days the muffler gradually got louder. It was a month before we could get the car back into the dealership. And, on the way there, the center of the steering wheel started vibrating strangely. Turned out, BOTH issues were covered as well! We were pleasantly surprised needless to say. 👍😁. Nice to get those little gifts. Thanks, LaFontaine, for being honest and thorough!!

He not only found the reason behind my concerns of the Toyota RAV4, but was able to communicate it with me, clearly and concisely. As a teacher myself, I was impressed with this skill to provide such a clear understanding of the problem. This was a very difficult time for my family after a loss one year prior to the anniversary date so one can only imagine how car issues can occur during the worst times. Joe’s genuine concern to handle the situation, his ability to navigate the internal communication across departments while identifying the solutions should be acknowledged.You can tell this is a family owned dealership because of how they go above and beyond for their customers.(I was even conveniently provided a loaner car throughout the process!)

Caring, wonderful staff who helped me when I rolled in without an appointment, but with coolant issues. Immediately assessed the problem, fixed it on the spot and explained how to look for future problems. Then checked and filled other fluids, my tire pressure, and sent me on my way. Friendly, and truly seemed to care about my issue.

I have to go here for my Fleet vehicle. I had just had the oil changed within 100 miles of bringing my van in for a wiper motor replacement. They actually got me in and repaired before my scheduled appointment. However, they also changed the oil, which I expressly told them not to do. When I looked at the receipt it said Customer requests oil change. Did they not see that the filter was brand new?Then they leave the paper floor mat and plastic seat cover for me to throw away. And theres greasy have prints on the hood and fender and on the steering wheel.Cmon man.When its a Fleet vehicle, they try to make as much as they can get away with.
The service department had my wifes vehicle for 2 months and did not fix the heating and cooling. When she showed up for a new appointment to get it fixed they said the appointment wasnt in the system and claimed we had a history of not showing up for an appointment which was the appointment where they had the car for 2 months so we definitely showed up. The workers do not know what is going on or the policies of their own company and it takes way more work than necessary to get anything done. Overall, this is the worst experiences I have ever had with a vehicle service department.Update: Brought the vehicle in and the people at the location were much more professional. They looked at the car that day and made sure things were covered properly under warranty and everything.

I drove from Ionia to lafontaine, Bettenbaker in Lowell is closer. That should tell you everything you need to know. I drove an extra 25 miles for a routine service. That is how much I prefer Lafontaine to every other dealer near me.

My Service Consultant Zane, during my last visit to LaFontaine in Lansing was very helpful. He was polite, professional and thorough in his handling of my vehicles maintenance. He was helpful by going over additional maintenance items that I should consider for my vehicle that were over due. He kept me posted as to the progress of the maintenance and delivered the vehicle on time as promised and washed ( very impressed). Zane is a very value asset to your Team.
Lo is the absolute best salesman. We walked through the entire building without being spoken to until he saw us. He was juggling my deal, my daughter’s deal and an appt that he had all at one time but you would have never known. His work ethic is outstanding. He went out of his way to ensure that we all felt like the most important customer. He was not frustrated by the fact that I was indecisive on what I wanted to buy. He brought up four vehicles for me to test drive and did not give up or pressure me to settle for anything less than exactly what I wanted. This review is mainly about Joseph Adkins at the body repair shop, but also about Raymond Strait at the Ford Service center.My 2017 Ford Escape has some paint bubbling/peeling on both drivers and passengers side A-Frame under the windshield. Since the vehicle is out of warranty, Raymond suggested contacting customer service. I went to Joseph first at the body repair shop to get a quote and his opinion.Ford customer service talked to both Joe and Raymond about my vehicle, and both agreed it was more than likely manufacturer defect. Raymond was able to set me up with a loaner and Joe was able to get the vehicle in for the repair.Once everything was said and done, Joe noticed that the windshield replacement tech scratched the new paint and has offered to correct the issue at no charge.Both Joe and Raymond have been a tremendous help with this issue. Very happy with Ford service work and the body shop work I received.

Shuttle to and from the dealership is available. My driver was great, very safe and courteous, good conversationalist to boot! The repairs were done promptly. Great experience.
Needed to do a recall repair on my truck. It was a floor mat. The service person was very knowledgeable and know exactly what to order. Other dealers were going to cut a section of the mat to make it safe. LaFontaine got the correct the part. Kudos to the service department.
I appreciate that I can schedule my service online. They are ready for me when I arrive. They are very courteous and don’t try to oversell. They give you the appropriate amount of information so that you can make a decision on what you want to do. Their mechanics diagnose well and provide great service. Took my vehicle in to deal with a recall issue...check-in process was easy, service was completed within the time frame quoted to me when I made the appointment. Everyone I had dealings with either on the phone or in person were pleasant, efficient, and professional. As repair experiences go, this was one of the best I have been involved in.
We have been into your dealership twice now to look at buying a new jeep and both times were insulted on trade in values, and bot times chose to drive farther away to purchase new jeeps. The last time I went to Jackson the very next day and bought my 2020 gladiator Rubicon and got exactly what I was looking for for my trade in with absolutely no hassle or insult. The first time we went all the way to grand rapids and got the same results. To put things in perspective I was offered 4,000 dollars below trade in value at your dealership for my 2007 wrangler 4 door, 2,000 was your offer!?!? Completely laughable.

After over 10 years of leasing and buying at the Lansing location, I had to take my new Jeep in for service due to a check engine light. After having my car for 5 days, and not yet touching it, I was told I can pick it up and make appointment for the following week because they would not provide a loaner vehicle to me. I did, and when I received my Jeep back, the check engine light continued to come on. I called to set up another date of service, and stated that I would need a loaner vehicle- they had over a week to secure one for me. I left a message with the service manager, and 2 other people- NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I called them back the day before my service appointment and was told they dont have any vehicles available for me. So I cancelled my service, and went elsewhere. The customer service at this location is terrible, and I will never do business there again. I took my Jeep to Champion in Lansing, who didnt question my need for a loaner, just set it up. And they have found and corrected the problem, which is something LaFontaine did not do.
My beloved Jeep Compass had a run in with a deer and lost. Roy and his team did an AWESOME job fixing the damage!
Can’t say enough about my experience with LaFontaine. At the end of the day, things don’t always go as planned at no fault to anyone else. Brad, a service dept manager, is actually a really good person to work with. I’ll continue doing my business with them as long as they’ll let me.

I can’t go higher than 3 stars. I brought my wife’s car there for a start/stop issue. It was $175 for them to diagnose it, which was steep, but ok, they’re a dealership. Then they said the auxiliary battery needed to be replaced. It’ll be $375 total. I asked questions and determined that battery was basically a 12v battery. I just put a new one with 240 cca in my mower. This one is rated for 200. So they wanted $200 for it. I politely told them they were taking me for a ride. I told them to replace it, and determined via a google search that it was in fact a fairly easy repair. And the battery is $100 online (I expected the mopar battery to cost more than a tractor supply battery).They called back a couple hours later and said the car was ready and the total was $275 now. Weird.I will check another dealership next time. Just be honest from the get go and don’t make me challenge you. But at least they made it right after I called them out.
Terri is a great sales rep. We have bought 3 cars from her. We travel 3 hours to just receive the great customer service. They have always been honest and straight forward.

Came to LaFontaine on S. Pennsylvania Ave.in Lansing, MI just to check out the selections of used vehicles for my fiancé. We looked around and found a Equanox which was Grey in color. Almost chose that but with further search around the lot, we Hadfield the perfect Equanox for my fiance which is red with very minor touchup needed.Well our sales rep ( Roland ) was very patient and very understanding of what we were looking for. Answer all our questions and concerns and went into complete details on how our questions and our concerns were answered.. Roland was so very professional and very kind and respectful to my fiance and I and did not pressure or rush us into buying something we wouldnt be comfortable buying. We have the vehicle my fiance was searching for and she is so very satisfied with how it rides.Roland even offered to have the information issues taken care of with no extra cost.He Treated us like family and not just customers.I highly recommend going to LaFontaine on S. The person that waited on me was really nice. However, I was asked both on the phone and in person repeatedly why I brought my car there. As it is a Ford. I repeatedly said I bought the car there less than a month ago and was told to bring it there for the first oil change. If they did not want me there they should have made it clear. I won’t go back there for the second and likely will ask them to cancel the warranty that I purchased if they can’t get it together.

I have been putting of buying a veichle for years because of the awful experience I had previously. Brian.O really was amazing, I spent two days test driving veichles, and never felt pressure to have to buy. As a female walking into a dealership it can be very intimidating, I never once felt that way. Top notch service, great customer service. Will definitely continue to use them for future purchases!

Service dept is horrible. The vehicle is under factory bumper to bumper coverage and they wanted to charge me a $150 service charge to simply look at it.
I think they did a good job helping me to understand the work they did on my car. I enjoyed talking with them. Ill probably return for the other repairs I need.
We have been going here, even before they switched ownership. To date, we have always had good service. They have never tried to sell unnecessary service, unlike other dealerships I have been to.

Very disappointed with my waiting experience during recall service. While the service manager taking in my vehicle was nice and properly wearing a mask, nobody else in the intake area was. The man furthest back had a mask around his chin, completely avoiding mouth and nose. While waiting in the dealership for the service to be completed, I felt very uncomfortable as plenty of employees inside walking around were not properly masking either. Plenty of hanging noses, chin diapers, and employees taking off masks to shout at each other or snack and chat near me since the vending machines were right near by. Unfortunately its not yet warm enough to wait outside or I would have done that. I realize we see the light at the end of the tunnel here, but the pandemic is still ongoing and precautions need to be taken. It seems like mask distain is almost cultural at Lafontaine (or at least the service department). I wont be electing to do any service here in the future. If the dealership cant take health precautions seriously to help keep their customers safe during a pandemic, why should I believe they take safety precautions seriously with my vehicle?
Little better than my other experience. He did sit down with me and let me explore my options but car fell through. I had to call them to find out about it.
Aj, and Larry were awesome, they went above and beyond to help me get my Jeep. I am so thankful for them and I absolutely love my Jeep!!

The services department Matt, Mitch and Brad have been great at getting us in when needed and keeping us informed with the warranty work information when we have had work done. Dropped off a van that was in security lock out mode . called the following day to see what the progress was and was told it was in the building being worked on and i would e called when done . at that point i stressed that it was for a customer of ours and i would need to be notified of the cost first . being in the auto repair business i guess i,m sensitive to customer satisfaction and expect what i give in a daily basis . the next day i drove by and found the van out back in there lot with the window open and full of snow . van has never been touched . although being sensitive with how i,m treated and how i treat customers i also know that stuff happens now is the time to show that it can be turned around and have a positive end result . i have faith in you guys, prove me right .. UPDATE,, ALL DONE AND VERY HAPPY, THANKS GUYS

Amazing customer service! Roy helped me with my daughters repair. He was professional and easy to work with throughout the entire process. I also had the opportunity to speak with a couple of the other employees and each one of them provided excellent customer service. They did a great job with the repair and when we got the car back we were extremely pleased with the work that was done. I hope that I dont need another repair in the near future, but if I did I know exactly where I would go for the repairs.

This was not how I imagined spending my day.I got a service call for my Town & Country; the estimate had one more zero than I had expected.It was obvious. It was time.Mitchell in service had already talked to Sales Dept at the dealership and they were ready for me to arrive at noon. So, I showed up at 9:02.I was immediately introduced to Liam in sales. After my morning kick in the teeth, I had low expectations for going through the buying and trading process.Liam saved the day.Well, MY day at least!Liam was super easy to work with and was knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the van I considered. He easily rattled off the differences between what I was parting with and what I was looking at. We had my car picked from the lot without even having to look at them.As we moved to the painful part of the process, Liam explained each step and told me what to expect. He told me about the options I would be presented with in then Financing Guys office (He was great, too, but I didn’t catch his name.) and helped me ponder the choices before I was sitting in that office, that was nice. Liam made the painful part mush less painful. Professionally, I could not have asked for better service.Through the whole thing, we were both chatty and kept the conversation light with no feeling of impending fiscal doom. Personally, I doubt I could have asked for a better salesman.If you’re need to go visit LaFontaine, ask for Liam!
Oil change and tires rotated. Drove 1/8 mile realized Jeep was vibrating like crazy. Lucky I pulled over and realized 1 tire had all 5 lug nuts ready to fall off. I could be dead. But they said sorry and sent me on my way. 🧐 possibly saved them their dealership. Tnx!
