The staff was great and service was fast and at a fair price. They back their repairs and do great work.

Prices are decent. They ordered the incorrect part and installed it. They didnt realize the missed a part of what I wanted replaced. Only when I got home did I realize they didnt replace the seal. Called and at first was talking to the mechanic. He acted as if I was wrong.... He then have me to the original person I talked to and she checked the notes and seen I was correct. They said bring it in and they would fix it. Want exactly a convenient thing but they did fix it.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a shop, I paid for almost $3000 of work and not even 2 months later it’s having the same issue it came in for, with a guarantee that it wouldn’t do the same thing again. Then they supposedly did a tune up, I checked the plugs and coils because it was misfiring and they all had the factory paint markings on the top of the pouch, will never bring my vehicle back to them ever again, over my dead body will they ever see one of my cars or trucks again

Busy place but they get it done, very happy with my truck they removed and replaced the engine just one of many repairs . Mechanics all highly skilled and trained Truck runs great wouldn’t take it anywhere else . They have done alignments to steering gear box to ball joints, tie rods to my oil changes and tires . Overpriced and slightly racist. I felt a tone when I went in there last week to get a quote. What I mean by that is the woman inside was very rude and stand offish toward me, I assume because of my accent. I speak Spanish, but I also speak fluent English. Anyway customer service is horrible. 2 stars because I am a blessed man and I dont feel like giving only 1.

Great place to have alignment done. If you have something that will prevent your car from holding alignment (bad tie rods/ball joints ect), they tell you up front free of charge. They use quality parts and fair shop labor prices. They have a comfortable waiting area stocked with lots of magazines to keep busy with although I have never had to wait long. Call and make an appointment because they are often booked.I have not had a bad experience. This is a list of work they have done for me:alignments, Inner tie rods, outer tie rodsI plan to have my latest project in to Cut Rate for an alignment shortly. I have their business card tacked to the wall in my shop. Honest shop, great prices.

Extremely unprofessional and unreliable!Heres the story:Had my AC compressor fixed here last summer (2017). This summer it wasnt working, so called and set up an appointment to have it replaced (it was under a 3 yr. warranty). When I arrived, they did not have the part, so I had my breaks done and made an appointment to return the following weekend. When I got there, the owner told me that the part had not come in yet. I explained that I had driven over an hour just to get there (I moved to Southfield) and that I would appreciate a call if it did not come in again.When I arrived on the 3rd Saturday, the shop was closed and I was never notified. I called the following week and the owner threw his employees under the bus, saying that they had closed the shop without his permission. I asked if I could come back the following weekend and he said that the parts company had taken the part back?? I asked him to call me when it came in and to this day have never received a phone call back from him (its been an additional 2 weeks).In short, I spent 4 Saturdays driving 3 hours round trip to the shop and my AC still isnt fixed!! Ive spent the entire summer (record heat!) without AC, and I will be reporting the owners passive aggressive refusal to honor his warranty to the BBB as well as the SOS.Cut Rate? More like Cut Throat! Two thumbs wayyy down!!

Owning a local business myself I try to stay around town for my auto repairs. These guys go above and beyond and fix it right the first time. I was misdiagnosed a couple times on my vehicle parts by other local companies and saved a fortune thanks to them. I have a Mercedes truck and I know things are a little bit more difficult to work on but they have no problem at all taking care of it. The best part of it is that their prices are lower than anyone around. That combination is hard to find. I trust them with my vehicles and would recommend anyone to take their vehicle to them for the best service around. Thank you again!

This place completely destoyed a wonderful car.....went in for repair on the coolant system and 2 days later had a rod knock. Further steps only made the problem worse. I strongly suggest anyone to stay away

After my quote I found out that their name is just a name.. Price was comparable with all other local shops, work performed was ok. I would never repeat business with them.Severely over price on parts. Had to take the car back to have work redone due to poor craftsmanship. For some reason they needed to get into the trunk and left it all apart.

Saturday I brought in a Chevy Impala after Cut Rate had already closed. I called them and they had me come in. (Very much appreciated and one of the two things I can say positive about the business) The car needed to have a very easy and cheap part replaced to drive safely which was taken care of quickly. I appreciated that they took me in after hours and the woman was kind. I was charged 135 dollars for an extremely cheap part and about 15 minutes of work, however, I didn t mind under the circumstances. I set up an appointment for the next day to get another vehicle taken care of. Monday I brought in another vehicle along with a brand new fuel pump and sending unit. Before I left I asked the mechanic to check and make sure that it actually was in fact the fuel pump that was my issue. I received a call a couple hours later from a mechanic stating that my fuel pump was not working properly, so I gave him the go ahead to fix it. I picked my truck up that evening and paid them 120 dollars (for the labor) When I was driving home I noticed my gas gauge said 1/4 tank rather than the 1/2 tank it said when I arrived in the morning. I called Cut Rate and the mechanic said that can happen with a new sending unit, that it was just stuck, and said I had a good 24 gallons of gas in my tank. I trusted this statement. Thursday I went out in the morning to start my truck and it didn t start. I called Cut Rate and they came and picked it up right away. All day I waited for a phone call yet never received one. The next day (Friday) my mother called and asked about my truck. The mechanic said it needed a distributor cap and would charge 80 dollars to replace it. I found out about this and called to get my truck out of there right away. When I arrived I asked why my gas gauge was still not working, they responded with blaming the part I brought with me. A part in a sealed box, so very much not likely. I also asked if the fuel pump was actually faulty in the first place, and why the distributor cap wasn t figured out when I asked them to check what the issue was. They again threw me a bunch of excuses, blaming the weather, etc. (the weather was consistent all week) Rather then arguing or losing my composure I decided to leave and take my truck to someone else. By doing this I found out a few things... 1. When driving my truck home I realized my gas gauge said 1/8 of a tank, I had the mechanic check how much fuel I had in my tank. By doing this I learned that I no longer had the 24 gallons of fuel left, instead I was left with about three gallons. 2. It was most likely never my fuel pump, it was the distributor cap all along. If the mechanics at Cut Rate would have checked to see what the issue was that I asked of them in the first place I would have saved a large chunk of money and a huge headache. 3. Cut Rate Auto has apparently done similar or other indecent things to people before. Over all, I will never go to Cut Rate Auto in Lapeer Michigan again. They had poor customer service, aside from the woman, and failed at doing a thorough and honest good job.

I didnt mind the service from the owner Larry with the crazy eye, but I dont like the up front office people. They work on gm cars a lot but do not take a ford here!!!!

Awful parkinglot. Work will get done but after a huge markup in price for the part. Plan on a 150-200% mark up on the part you need. Wouldnt recommend
