This store is similar to Savers or D.I. (Deseret Industries), but focused on hinge improvement items including furniture, appliances, paint, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, etc., as well as what appear to be cancelled Amazon shipments. For example, we got cases of bleach (6 single gallons of bleach per case) for $1.50 when on Amazon they sold for $33.18. A sign said Veterans also get 75% off the already insanely cheap rates. I saw a bathtub jacuzzi for $20. Its all nonprofit. It can be hard to find enough of the same flooring to do a whole room. Lots of doors there. Theres lots of other random stuff. Should be different stuff there regularly.

I called Restore today and asked if they were interested in a donation of moving boxes. They were.I spent about half an hour breaking down loading a ton of boxes into my car and drove across town.I went inside and told them why I was there. They said to go around back to give the boxes.I went around back. The attendant was busy so I started to unload myself. He came out and said to put them in the recycling bin. I said, no theyre a donation.Put them in the bin.I told him the office said they wanted them.Put them in the bin.I asked him 3 times to go ask in the office. He refused. He did not help me unload.I had some steel bars that went with the boxes, I didnt know what to do with the. and tossed them on the ground next to the bin.Suddenly hes a victim. Please dont act like that and I didnt do anything to you.I told him he could have gone to ask the front when I asked him to and by refusing, yes he had done this to me.I got in my car and drove to the front to tell them about my experience. Guess who came along. NOW he can come to the front. He came to defend himself. If they didnt want the boxes and were just going to throw them out, I could have saved myself the effort and done it at home.Better yet, I would have given them to some one who needed them.Save your effort, save your time. Donate elsewhere

The change is already apparent in the pricing! As a transplant from Wisconsin and a veteran thrifter/Restore shopper I was disappointed in the Layton Restore. After moving to Layton in March FY20, I think I went 3 times and spent $1.00 total. It was too expensive. When youre already a thrift shopper and you determine you can purchase the product new on sale for around the same amount there is a problem. I understand rent is high and donations are low, but I was happy to read the comments from a new manager a few weeks ago in response to another reviewer saying the same, that they were going to adjust pricing. They have! I went in an purchased $80 worth on Saturday. The beauty of a Restore is in the movement of goods. If people find a deal, they buy, foot traffic increases, more items sell, and the more people that flow through the facility, the more donators you will have, and it becomes a beautiful cycle of reuse. Im excited to see what this change will bring!

The prices are unreal they are so low that I am going anywhere else I asked the staff how they determined a price and they said that they find it online and cut it in half and on top of that most of the good quality items there are on discount on top of that. To make it even better all money forwards go to building homes.

They have some great stuff. Hopefully they’ll figure out pricing soon. The Ogden and Salt lake locations have much better deals . Very nice employees and very clean.

This ReStore is more expensive than other locations. Some prices rival full-price retail. Make sure you show up well before closing. 4 vehicles of customers (approx. 10 people) were turned away when we were walking in ten minutes to close. We did not intentionally arrive that close to closing. Online hours state open until 7 but actually close at 6.

I love ReStores. I have visited them all around the country and—although this is a clean, large location—the prices are outrageous! I price checked half-a-dozen items, and I could get the exact same items at regular local retailers for less. Also, used items were even higher than new equivalents at Home Depot or Lowes. I love the idea of supporting Habitat for Humanity and upcycling materials, but Im certainly not going to pay more to do it.Avoid this location; maintain your love for the work of Habitat.
