Zero stars for this marina. We purchased an 80k new boat and the mechanic at the dealership blew up our alternator the day we purchased the boat by attaching the battery backwards. They said they cleaned the boat and they didnt. Gave poor instructions of how to use it and even gave us wrong cover for the boat ... sales rep jack is nice but thats it ! Dont buy. Look elsewhere it has been a nightmare.
Great place to buy a boat and a great place to have it serviced. The buying experience was fantastic with Jared and the customer service provided by Paym King and Michael was greatly appreciated. Good honest people.Greg
Its a fantastic place to visit family friends a lot of money can get spent
Well stocked and decent prices.Location less than optimum.
I took my Regal 3560 for service at Highport Marina on 02/06/20 for fiberglass work on swim platform, have lower units serviced, bottom job, and full compound and wax from water line all the way into the boat. They got everything except the fiberglass work done in like 1 week. They had my boat 3 months before I got it back. They did not even clean the boat where the compound got under the seats. They just lift out for storage. Was told we dont do that and insisted on me to pay the 11,800.00 bill. Doug did not communicate until the boat was in the lift to be put back in the water. Sorry guys. Im over it.
Tim Bates, Javier, Hart, Brandon and everyone on the entire crew at Plano Marine at Chandlers Landing Marina provided top notch service on our boats recent haul-out was so skilled and customer focused, cant say enough good things! For our large boat, they did fiberglass repairs, epoxy coating, bottom paint, and annual engine service, all on-time and at a reasonable cost especially considering the great level of quality. We are happily back on the water, enjoying and sharing the beautiful sunsets on Lake Ray Hubbard.
If you need small boat service find someone else. Tom at Plano marine is the most difficult person to deal with. He is rude, doesn’t care at all, is difficult to just get pricing from, and he literally doesn’t listen. Had to tell him model of boat and what I wanted 4 times. I went to ask around to see if I was the only one, I’m not. There’s plenty that know of Tom and how difficult he is to deal with.I did speak with someone else who was great there but Tom ruins it completely. I think for big boat and yachts they have different people but don’t go for small boat.I’ll never bring my boat in or give them any of my business.
The marina and Tim have been outstanding to work with. They have gone above and beyond to help on all fronts. They have been fair on pricing, taken care of last minute service requests, and been extremely easy to get a hold of by phone and in person. I have dealt with a lot of marinas in my life and none have come close to having the customer service that Plano Marine does. Thank you!
I took my Sea Ray Sundancer in to Plano Marine at Chandlers Landing for a full engine and generator service along with a polish and bottom paint, in addition to getting the bumper rails replaced. Not only did they conveniently pick my boat up from a different marina from their shop location, the price quoted to do the work was very competitive; I received far beyond the level of customer service that I bargained for. Aside from the aforementioned being completed in a very timely manner, I also added a complete upholstery and canvas camper top restoration to the to-do list. After everything was completed perfectly, my boat was returned to my slip. Thank you Tim and Javier, it was a pleasure doing business with you guys. Ill definitely be back in the future!
Plano Marine at Chandler’s Landing is absolutely the best marine repair shop. Javier (Parts/Service Advisor), Tim (GM), Mark (Mechanic)and Tim (Shop Foreman) are truly passionate and enthusiastic about pleasing the customer. Per my request, Javier called me the day before my boat was scheduled for maintenance so I could keep it at home. After the maintenance was complete, Javier kept the boat secured inside the shop until I picked it up. Mark is the best and most knowledgeable boat mechanic that has ever worked on my boat. He has taught classes on marine engine repair. I have a 20 foot bow rider but I was treated as if I had a 35 foot yacht. This location is extremely convenient for the Dallas area as well as East Texas. With this team this location will always be successful. Thanks to everyone at Plano Marine Chandler‘s Landing.
Great vibes, the moment you walk in they treat you like family and with the utmost respect. No matter which ever recruiter you get, they will go above and beyond for you!
Friendly, great service! Guys at the parts desk were very helpful and friendly! Especially refreshing after some less than desirable experiences with some shops on the other side of the lake.
Wow. These Sales guys need some serious work. Iv been planning a boat purchase for months. Finally ready to narrow down my search and went to this place because of all the good reviews. Worst attitude not friendly at all. Didn’t even ask me my name. 😂
Awesome experience. Jack is very nice, honest, and informative. Love our new boat!
Great! Very nice knowledgeable staff to deal with!
I have an excellent review for Plano Marine. My sales person was Jack and he was outstanding! He was professional, responsible, and personable. He did what he said he was going to do in a very timely manner. He was extremely knowledgeable and he did whatever he could to point out ways of saving me money. He answered every question I had and was encouraging if I had more questions to contact him at any time. He was not the least bit pushy, but very patient with me. He was very thorough and everything went smoothly. I consider him honest and I trust what he says.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! So unprofessional... from parts to sales... they could care less if you get helped and for a place of business they act like they dont want your money!? Salesman couldnt even take the time to physically check their inventory for a ENGINE.... Its not exactly a small part or a cheap one at that! Dont go to this shop and I personally will travel great distances to avoid these idiots....
Jared, Greg and team are the best. We’ve purchased 3 boats from Plano Marine over past 7 years. I have full confidence that PM will take care of any issue that might arise because they have always come through for me.It’s a great feeling knowing I have the PM team behind me.Having a solid dealer behind you when owning a boat of any size is paramount. Glad we have Plano Marine.
Cool boat dealership. Sales guy was helpful and non aggressive. Gave us information and we were on our way
Super easy to deal with. Great prices. Very friendly service.
Prices for Winterization here are 4 times more than the surrounding competition
Horrible customer service trying to buy brand new boat. Had to pay money to get out of the harbor. Do not recommend this place go somewhere else
Ive bought 2 boats here and have been taking by boats here for service 20 plus years . Always top notch staff and great service. 100% trust in their knowledge of product. Highly recommend plano marine for all your boat needs
Mark Rollins is the best mechanic on this planet. He treats my boat like it is his own. I would never let anyone else work on it.
Enjoying my relationship with Plano Marine.
I would highly recommend Plano Marine for any boating needs. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, also they are not pushy like a lot of places. You will not be disappointed.
Sgt Diprima helped me decide my future and assisted me in growing as a person
Plano marine has been amazing to deal with from both the sales side and the service side. I recently had a service issue with my boat and Greg from the sales side stayed late so I could drop my boat off. Chris and Mark in service were able to diagnose and fix the problem in a very tight window that I had because I needed my boat back quickly. They all went above and beyond and I would recommend both the sales and service teams to anyone. Top notch people and a very happy customer. Thank you so much!!
I purchased my G3 from Plano Marine 2018. I’ve had some items under warranty fixed, my 20 hr service performed and some extras installed there. The service guys have always been patient with my questions and took time to go through the log they pulled for my 20 hr service. Chris and the others have always provided great customer service.
Had a great experience with Plano Marine. Found the boats we wanted to look at online, and went into the store without an appointment just to check the place out. Carlton Morris, our sales rep was helpful from the beginning, and showed us multiple boats within our length and price range. We wanted a boat they had at the Longview branch, and instead of having to run out East to look at it, they brought the boat to Plano for us to look at, with only a small refundable deposit. The boat was the one we settled on and Carlton and Bill made the transaction very simple, and even provided a demo of the boat before we closed the deal. Carlton is very well versed in boating and in the lines he represents. Wouldnt hesitate to buy another boat here.
The service department at Texoma is awesome!! Thank you so much for all your help!!
Great deals! My husband and i purchased a boat here and it was at a good price. We love it!
Spoke with Jack in the showroom and had all my questions answered.I opted for a new Yamaha outboard, 90 hp.Brilliant motor and great service.Nothing has been cheap, but the product and the service is fantastic.I will continue working with these folks for years to come.
Buying a boat at Plano Marine is a great experience. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. My salesman, John Gomez, knows boats inside and out. Literally, since he does much of the rigging on the new boats. He was a great source of information on the latest fish finders and trolling motors. Jared Taylor is the Sales Manager. He offers fair and honest deals and there are no unpleasant surprises at closing. Bill Thorpe is the Business Manager and did a fantastic job arranging financing for me. I purchased a NauticStar Hybrid 211 and couldn’t be more pleased. Go see these guys if you’re looking at buying a boat, you’ll be glad you did.
Buying my boat from Plano Marine was probably the easiest process with buying anything. My sales rep. was Carlton and was very easy to deal with. He answered every question I could come up with. I highly recommend these guys if you looking into purchasing a boat.
Wow-what an amazing experience with Plano Marine!! We were in a major crunch to get a last minute issue fixed on our boat so we could go help with the Harvey rescue operation. Plano Marine pulled off a miracle!! I couldnt be more thankful for the people there.
I brought my boat to be serviced this last summer and left it there in their lot for when they opened up they could pull it into their cage. Once they opened and they realized I had a mercury motor they said they couldn’t work on it. And although most places would say sorry bout your luck, not these guys, they called Larry’s down the street for me and had him come get my boat without me having to do it. So in my opinion they went above and beyond the service they really need to do and helped me get my boat to the right place and get it serviced. Thanks Plano Marine.
The boat selection is a decent size but the sales people are dismissive if you ask too many questions. This is a family operated business and I expected a lot better customer service
The service department at Plano Marine was fantastic! They were very patient and courteous as I requested their help over the phone. After several attempts at fixing my trailer, with their verbal assistance of course, I was having no luck so they actually ended up coming out to my house! Such a great team of people- appreciate the fact I know I can rely on you guys.
ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS PLACE, TIM GOES WAY OUT HIS WAY TO MAKE SURE YOUR HAPPY, HIGHLY RECCOMEND THEM
We picked up our new Pontoon boat on a Friday afternoon and the overall experience was great. Both the sales and finance staff went out of their way to make sure the entire transaction went smooth. Our new G3 Pontoon boat is awesome! Plano Marine is a very down to earth place to do business, we highly recommend them.
Very friendly and very knowledgable service staff! They will minimize your “down” time and get you back on the water quickly! I won’t go anywhere else.
Above and beyond excellent. The service department was extremely helpful and saved my vacation!!! (we were vacationing to a lake for a week and the boat started having problems the week before leaving for the trip) Fixed my boat in no time and it worked perfectly. Very honest and fair. They have earned my business.
Plano Marina Has very knowledgeable and helpful employs they did a great job helping me with installing my trolling motor and depth finder will definitely use them again
So I took my boat in to get winterized about week ago, they call me the next day and tellme they are not going to service it because engine and fuel system has been modified and they cannot start engine. They said all they could do is just drain water from block. Now I would not have had a problem with this except this is the second boat I took in and they told me same thing for both of them. Then they told me they cannot work on boats over so many years old which I find odd.So I go pick it up and have a broken trailer light lenses cover for brakes and turn signal my cover for it is torn all across the middle and of course they said oh it was like that.I will never return to this place nor do I reccomend it to anybody. Oh and they broke my rear view mirror off and just left lay on floor place is a joke.
Was shopping for a boat yesterday and drove 30 minutes to this dealer to look at what Chaparral offered in comparison to another boat we liked. We arrived around 1 p.m., walked into the showroom...not a soul in sight. Walked back outside, then around the service area, around back, and out to the boat parking area. Then, back around to the front door, where we finally see an employee. We go in, he stays seated, phone in hand, never introduces himself or asks how he can help. I ask him about a certain model, and they dont have it. Fine, but not offering to show us other boats or see if he could find one is subpar. And, for the guy to act like we were an imposition on his time showed me all I needed to know. We left, were warmly received at all four dealerships we went to afterwards. We bought a boat yesterday, and it was from North Texas Marine. Go to both dealerships, youll see the difference. See Mike at North Texas Marine. Id tell you who we saw at Plano Marine, but he wasnt courteous enough to tell us.
Hello potential customers of Plano Marine. I wanted to give you an idea of how I was treated as a customer. I purchased a pre-owned Chaparral 300 and Greg Ray was who I dealt with. I need to say up front that I live in the Denver area of Colorado so Plano Marine is not a local dealership for me. The Chaparral was the boat we were looking for, however. After going through the back and forth that comes with these deals, we agreed on a price for the boat along with a substantial list of repairs and upgrades that the service department of Plano Marine would be doing as part of the price I paid for the boat. While I have all of the documentation and pictures (which I will be happy to share to anyone who is interested) the bottom line is that Plano Marine lied to me. They lied about the repairs they performed (including the starboard engine being stuck in forward), they lied about full camper canvas being included, the black tank was leaking in 3 places, the underwater lights they installed was wired in such a way that had I left them connected would have burnt my boat to the waterline. The waterlines in the boat were so full of mold that they all needed to be replaced. In all of this, Plano Marine has been unresponsive. I cant say that your experience will be similar to mine, but buyer beware.
As always they do a great job! That is why I keep coming back. Tom in service is great!
I had to commend Plano Marine for the excellent service I received. I have bought quite a few boats from you guys and every person I have dealt with has been very knowledgeable and accommodating. I have recommended you guys for years and will continue doing so!
Had my Humming bird Helixsonar 12 sonar put on my skeeter boat. had it done on time. took only 3 days. I would have given 5 stars but the installer did not clean up the fiberglass under the dash where he drilled holes. Note: Ask for Chris in services he will take care of you.
We purchased a pontoon boat from Plano Marine after we had heard about them from a good friend. For a person like me who is new to boating, I had a really pleasant experience there. The sales rep I met was very well informed and helped me narrow down my choice. He even helped convince my husband this was the right boat for us instead of a speed boat. I’m sure we’ll come back to get that too after we’ve had some practice out on the water with our pontoon. I’m happy, my husband is happy, and my kids are thrilled. Thanks a bunch.
Live in O’fallon MO. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Got a great deal on or boat . So far everything is working well. Good experience with Jared and Denise.
If your needing a great deal on a new or used boat with no haggling or just needing some good old honesty I have the place for you. Me and the wife visited Plano Marine in Plano TX just to look at the G3 Sportman 18 or 19. Out walked Tommy Lassiter with a big old smile and gentle mannerisms. After looking and talking for a bit we settled on the 17 Sportsman. Tommy never tried to up sale us on a larger or more expensive boat. It was a very comfortable experience from beginning to end.PS. We caused several people to work late on a Saturday and still felt very comfortable about our purchase.
Would NEVER spend a dime with them! Was in the process of purchasing a used 2000 Sunesta they had. (still currently on lot) We negotiated the deal, deposit was made. They delayed moving the boat for detailing and replacement of items (part of the deal) for 2 weeks. On test drive day and wiring of funds to finalize deal, salesperson rams bow of boat into trailer damaging in 3 spots. When pointed out, was told we will buff it as best we can. The 3 quarter size spots damaged the gel coat, buffing would have done nothing. I was brought to some guys office (Jerry or something like that) was introduced to him, started explaining what happened on test drive. He leans forward and bobs his head saying we are not fixing the gel coat! (with the shitiest attitude) Then proceeds to tell me that since it was my trailer and that trailer does not work for that boat, they are doing nothing. Had he been civil, I would have shown him the email exchange where I sent pictures to Plano Marine (the experts) whom told me that the trailer was a bit of an overkill for the boat, but would be perfect. Needless to say, I walked from the deal. But it gets better; they did not take the boat off MY TRAILER for over a week. It was to have been brought back to me for the inconvenience, but we know how that went down... Got a call to come pick my trailer up. In this process, I sent a note to the owner that I am having some issues that we need to discuss, he surely opened the message but NEVER reached out to save the sale.
My wife and I purchased our first boat just a couple months ago, a G3 Suncatcher. We love it! Our sales rep was very helpful and down to earth from our first conversation all the way through the delivery of our boat. Financing was easy and pleasant to work with, and the guys in the service department are the best. Helped us get everything we needed to enjoy our boat right from the start.
Purchased Sportsman 1810 G3 last year, excellent customer experience. Had minor issues with livewell, prompt repair.
Purchased a used Skeeter from Jared at Plano Marine. The transaction was smooth and painless. Jared held boat for us as my son fishes on the THSBA circuit. Great people to do business with all the way around.
Go here and be surprised that you CAN afford a boat. If Id known what they showed me, I could have bought a boat in 2006 and been enjoying it all this time! I just thought I couldnt get one so I never checked.
These guys only sell Yamaha motors which are widely regarded as the most reliable boat motor you can buy. In total, my motor purchase required less than an hour of actual time in the dealership. I dropped in and said I wanted to buy it then came back two days later to pick it up after they got it ready for me. This was my first motor and Tommy thankfully explained everything you need to know about boat motor maintenance and care in under 30 minutes. They also showed me how to operate every moving part on it. 5 star experience all around. Ill be back for all my parts and service.
Long time relationship with the Service Dept at Plano Marine and never once disappointed. Good reputable folks.
Great place to buy if you want a great deal
I would give them zero stars if I could. Showed up to look at a Searay 26 and the interior had a ton of stains, the A/C control unit was broken and hanging off the wall and the mattress was missing. I negotiated they fix all that and two weeks later it still wasnt ready, they told me they couldnt give me a delivery date. During the waiting period I noticed the boat was advertised with a windlass anchor but there wasnt one installed. I contacted them and they said theres a disclaimer on the bottom of the page and whats listed on boat trader is not whats always installed. I gave them the option to install one for the asking price and I would still take the boat, they refused. Theyre asking full retail for boats that are in poor condition. This place is shady and very slow take your business somewhere else!
Would give 0 if possible. Would not even acknowledge our presence after more than 30 minutes at their location
Great to see this iconic dealer at Pier 121 Lewisville Lake
Plano marine has always serviced our boats, we have always recieved great customer service from the service dept, Tommy and chris along with many others that work there go above and beyond to get our boat serviced in a timely manner and keep us informed on what the cost is as well. Marc the mechanic is outstanding. He always repairs our boat and fixed little things as well that needs done that we dont see or mention. Plano marine had an awesome sales team as well we traded our sea ray in for a 2019 pontoon amd the entire process took less than 1 hour. We wont go any where than plano marine for sevice and sales.
Carlton did an amazing job from start to finish with the sale of my new Chaparral, Plano marine is the place to go!
Jack was super helpful. Bought a boat there.
The employees in the parts area were outstanding and very knowledgeable. I will definitely stop by again because of their competency.
Friendly and knowledgable.....always trust these guys!!
Arrogant Parts GuyI am not a mechanic. Went in with a part and asked if he could help me locate and order the trim pump bracket. Asked me for the serial number of the motor. Of course I didnt have that. I told him the year and model. He arrogantly said he couldnt help me if I didnt know more about the engine. Went home and found the bracket on ebay in 3 minutes and ordered it. No reason to go to Plano Marine any more.Sorry I interrupted your sit there and do nothing time. I wont be back to bother you.
Expert advise and world class service, before and after the sell!
Grwat place to buy a boat and tbey have a great service department
Very poor customer service! Buy your yacht elsewhere.
Tried calling this place for three weeks. Getting an answer from their service desk is absolutely impossible and being that I work fifteen hours a day I dont have time to go in. Left several voicemails to still nothing.
Buyers BEWARE! From start to finish the entire process of purchasing a new 2016 Nauticstar from Plano Marine has been a disaster. Our sales guy, Jared, makes promises then denies that he told you. Before the purchased went down I had specific questions. Whether the boat came with a transom saver? Bimini top? Boat cover? I was specifically told yes to all three. Now once the boat was purchased it took multiple days to get it ready, I was understanding of this process as it was the beginning of July. However, no transom saver until we called and demanded that it be given to us as promised. The boat cover that was all balled up and put in the back seat of my truck was torn all the way across the center console area and back seat. We explained this to Jared immediately after getting home and he said he would order a new boat cover. This came in and was the wrong size. Jared told us to try it anyway, so we did, still didnt fit. So then they ordered a new one In the correct size, which took a little while to come in. But I dont want to forget to mention that the Bimini top when picked up did not have the correct cover on it either. Matter of fact it was for a Chaparral Boat, therefore it wasnt big enough for our top. So again we spoke to Jared about this and he had to order a new cover. THEN the disaster really happens!! In April 2017, just 8 short months later our gel coat all around the bottom floor cracked. We took it in and was told the gel coat only has a 30 day warranty by Jared but Nauticstar should cover the repair. GREAT NEWS RIGHT? WRONG! After FOUR weeks of being at Plano Marine and multiple calls and promises that it would be started the next week we finally got the real story. The service guys said their fiberglass guy was not confident in doing this type of repair but if he did would only warranty for 90 days. Then we were told by service that one of three things can happen, but Benny the owner would have to speak with Nauticstar. We were either going to have it repaired by their fiberglass guy, send it back to Mississippi for the factory to repair or a new boat in place of ours. But we were told Benny would call us that afternoon....no call and Benny left before 2pm. Then after multiple calls and then going up face to face I was told its just cosmetic it doesnt affect the way your boat floats. Sure they may be right, but I didnt purchase a $40k boat with cracks in the floor either. Then the service guy finally got on the phone with Benny and then proceeded to tell me that our boat was going to Mississippi, but it would be after Labor day or Thanksgiving sometime in the winter before they send it back. Keep in mind this is after the one year warranty expires. I was told that it would be impossible and Nauticstar would not accept the boat before then because they are currently in the middle of production and repairs are done in the winter. I then asked to speak with a Rep from Nauticstar which Plano Marine has denied to provide. I asked for a letter from Benny personally about having the repair done during the winter and after the warranty expires and he said he was unable to provide himself, that that type of letter he will try to get from the manufacturer. So I picked up my boat and listened tof the line ofor BS that was provided and Im going to take it to another dealership. I suggest any other dealership than this one. I guess I will wait to see if I actually get a letter from Benny/manufacturer in the mail as promised or will this be yet another lie.
Great people, normally fast service, and quality repairs.
I have driven past Plano Marine for nearly 20 years but had never used their parts or services. I assumed that they must be expensive, because of their location. I was completely wrong! After a horrible experience at another shop near Lake Avon, i called Plano Marine and was immediately impressed to find out that they were actually less expensive than the other guys! I have now used Plano Marine on several occasions for service, including a not-so-minor repair on my 85 Mercruiser outdrive and each time has been excellent. i highly recommend Plano Marine for service. I plan to visit the sales department for an upgrade in a couple more seasons :)
I took my boat here to see if they could service the motor. They turned me away and told me they cant work on my type of boat. It is a MarinePower motor, a very common inboard engine. They also had no recommendations for who could service the boat. Very disappointed with the customer service and lack of knowledge.
Great service and fast!
I purchased a smaller 20 used boat over a year ago from this location and i must say i was overall very impressed. At first it was a rocky start with the website and financing but in the end that didnt matter. I spoke with Robert and he is the reason why i would shop here again. It was during the winter when i made my purchase and while i was heading up there (about 200 miles away) i was told they had a major freeze the night before and i would not be able to get the boat. Disappointed i turned around to head home when Robert called me back saying they would be able to push some other purchases back and get mine in the shop to de-winterize and ready for sale that same day! When i arrived i was a little embarrassed on how small my purchase was in comparison to the inventory available, and yet they still took care of me like i was purchasing something 500 times higher in cost (literally). When i explained it was my first boat, he took the time to explain some basics, even some suggestions and tips. I felt confident leaving the yard after his direction. Now a year and half later im itching for it to warm up to get out on the lake once more. Please dont hesitate with your purchase, this location is customer oriented by far and has earned a customer for life for that. Thank you!
They moved out of Plano.!
The service department is the reason that I will buy a new boat at Plano Marine
Great service department
I am on my third boat from Plano Marine. Greg, Benny and the service team bend over backwards to help me when I needed it. I am sure I wouldnt get this level of service from other dealers in the area.
Great service
Plano Marine is not willing to work with me on a trade in. They told me I should go sell my boat myself. This was for a boat that they sold me!!! Of course when they sold me the boat, it was a different story.
Over priced boats
Had what I needed
Awesome
Hhou in,, I esz🙏 #
