Its sad to see one of the great stores close down for good. I have always enjoyed coming down to shop for shoes for my dad and his tools and meet so many great people. I will truly miss the full customer experience and the interaction with knowledgeable employees like Roger and David and the warmth from the old school cashiers like Lako.
Although I’ve been a lifelong fan of Sears, this store was a little disappointing. They took away all the charm of the building and really made it very vanilla on the inside. The massive historic building is beautiful. I hope they can refurbish this into something the community would be proud of. While keeping that iconic green Sears at the top.
Coming to this Sears location was my childhood. Will definitely miss those times. How times have changed!
History on LAs skyline. This building has been part of LA since the 20s. Ive been looking at this building in the distance since I was a little kid, stood in the parking lot today. Theres a snack bar there... who knew. Go check it out.
Went in looking for a tool. Which I didnt find but I noticed the store was kind of empty. The only employees I saw were at the registers. I dont know if this store is in the process of closing but it sure felt that way. I dont think I will be coming back again.
I loved coming here when I was a kid.... Sears was the coolest store... and this building is amazing... Sad to see what greed has done to this company and all its employees.
Sad to know this is closing down ): i remember being excited to come here as a kid for the ICEE’s outside. The best tejuinos Ive ever had came from the front lot. They’ll probably kick them off once they start to gentrify the place smh
The only store in town that sells anything at a decent price. I was so intrigued by the design of the blouses that I bought. The workers who were also welcoming were so sweet. It was worth my stay.
Just picked up a great new gas stove. Maribel was such a nice person helping me get the best price for my purchase. They were really busy, and seemed a little short handed, but I got what I came in to get. There is tons of parking in the back and this place is huge! You will get lost, but it was an nice experience.
This store had everything you could even need from T shirts to appliances. Grate selection of craftsman tools as well! Everyone is super nice and helpful making payments is very easy as well. Coming back for sure
They have everything at great prices, with great customer service! Its the only place you can buy Kenmore appliances which are the most reliable Ive ever had!!! I love Sears Roebuck & Co.!!!
Unfortunately store looks empty little by little.after so many years of great service and quality products.
Close down the store open since 1920 till 2021. Good bye sears.
Oldie but goodie. Hopefully they can transform her into some sort of plaza or mall. And not bring her down
I had no idea an actual Sears store was in this building. I always thought it was a huge vacant building that used to be a Sears warehouse. Wow I hope I can visit before they close 😕
It was ok. Looks like they are closing the store. Will probably go back & get a tool box & some more tools, looks like everything is on sale.
So many sales. Good quality clothes and shoes for low prices. Support Sears. Keep them open.
This place is not what it used to be. Its going turbo downhill without breaks. Its glory days are over and its only a matter of time before they close for good. Sad to see it go, I had my first TV from here when I was child.
Great location cant wait to rehab.
Bad service by employees and managers Yobi or Whatever her name is. I wouldn’t be surprised if they close it down any time soon they don’t deserve to work retail.
I love shopping at sears! Im not happy they closed my del amo store for no reason .This is the closest store to me and its awesome! I always love coming in and browse the craftsmen tools, Grate tools and grate prices the store staff is friendly and helpful .**Store is not closed or closing**
Love it!! Will miss this store.
Sears now is like a Fallas Paredes. NOT GOOD!! I went in ......and right back out!. Not what it used to be
Its summer and I only saw a few pair of shorts. I hadnt been into that store in years. Its absolutely not what it was before. They used to carry a larger selection of work boots as well which is what i went there for.
I remember being a kid and coming here. So happy it’s still open, and that the staff have jobs. Sad to see store closed and people loose jobs. Thank you to all the employees of Sear that work hard and make it everyday. Great store, deals, and service....should be kept as part of Historical monument
This was my favorate Sears store y I love the kids clothes
Old school Sears store. Right by downtown. Have some decent deals. Customer service has always been good. A little in the high price on Levis, or bathroom stuff. Overall good spot for family shopping
Awesome 👍😊☺️ thanks
I mean its not closed and yet i always hear it will close soon. Great prices and nice finds; been going there for many years and havent had any problems
L.A. store is old and outdated. But the staff is good. Willing to be helpful and friendly. The prices are good. And it is well stocked. Parking is easy.
It was an interesting experience. One of the oldest Sears around...
The oldest SEARS and so very clean and everyone very helpful.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A titan in the chain of super stores. This location will not go down without a fight😉💪
Its sad but they are going out business
Desperately need to remodel this place if its a historic landmark
Now days people can find good prices for you budget was my lucky day
Sears has been a go to spot for work tools, clothes and work boots for years. Sears has a good name. This location has plenty of parking, friendly staff and really good prices on lots of items through out the store.
Awesome and easy Connie (?), Sears associate was so very helpful. She assisted me on two questions.Shes about 54, black hair (tied back), glasses, very sweet and personable. The only reason why Im describing her is that I forgot to write her name down.Thank you so much. 👌💖
Its close and convinient for things that my house hold needs. Its a historical site the outside has an old count Dracula castle look and feel to it. Its perfect to make horror movies. But the store is a totally different place and feel on the inside. I go just about every day top get things for my home and family
Good costumer service, and lots of gifts.
Some cashiers rude especially the elder women so sad
This is the Sears of my childhood and it actually not like it use to be. It is a very big store but looks empty in alot of areas. They still have a variety of clothes, appliances, shoes, tools, etc... so I would still recommend this Sears.
I like this store. Truly a flashback to the past. Always something on sale. I dont know how they could stay open with so many deals and giving stuff away through points. The outside needs a bit of attention; its a little rough, grimy, and dirty. I love the iconic green Sears sign at night. It truly is the welcome sign into the Los Angeles area and its skyline. Itll be sad when Sears bites the dust because everyone knows it is not doing very well. Analysts give Sears and Kmart til early or mid 2020 as it is running out of money. So, come here to see the last of this historic retail chain.
Going out of business pick up 70% off
Pretty much empty shelves bcus of covid19 . So selection is minimum at the moment.
It is a okay place. When you are young and dont mind what type of clothes you want to wear. You choose sears,But if you like choosing some special fit on your clothes, there is not much to choose.Sears has some fitness equipments too,I like these place because it has a variety of work boots.
The former Majesty of this local icon is still somewhat intact - you can imagine what an impact this flagship store had on the community when it was built. It opened it’s door for business in 1920 - over 100 years ago! This art deco giant looms over DTLA from the hillside just across the LA river. You can see the green SEARS neon sign that crowns it for miles at night. It makes me sad going there because I know its not long before it goes the way of Kmart. Every year they downsize more and more... utilizing less square feet of retail space in the building and having fewer departments and features. What used to be a fairly extensive electronics department is now a computer terminal for ordering on the internet. I try to support the store and shop there when Im in the area or need a Craftsman tool, but you cant help but feel the death rattle of its lungs every time you shop there...***update February 2021**I drove by last week and saw the “Store Closing” banner draped across the entrance. She fought a good fight for 101 years. Godspeed, old friend...
My. Old. Work. Pkace
It is no more sorry to see you go
So sad to see a store like that closing down doors.
So sad theyr closing!!
This store is close nex days😔😔
More than one year closing so there are not variety on products or asortment on sizes
The mission - go in, purchase a washer and get out. Mission was accomplished successfully.Parking was easily found at the rear lot off of Olympic Blvd. The department store was completely empty on this weekday evening. So we quickly made our way to the appliance section of the store. Having perused the weekly ads prior, I knew the brand and capacity of washer I wanted. Nevertheless, I found myself looking at all washers on the floor, opening them and touching all button and knobs - you know you have to.An associate approached us asking if we needed assistance, but still in tactile- sensory mode I said we were still looking.Having made our choice, we called for an associate who came over with his iPad and processed all of our transaction all while I thought to myself...I could have done that at home...Nevertheless, this associate provided us with great service. He never suggested buying the high efficiency version of the model we chose or another more expensive washer. To our purchase the advertised 5% rebate was applied, however, that went towards the $69.99 delivery fee! Yikes!Suggestion: If you have a friend with a pick-up truck ask for them to help you pick-up an appliance and offer to buy them lunch/dinner/gas.Sears has competitive prices on appliances and after doing some research I found them to be less expensive than other appliance retailers for good brands like GE and Maytag.
It was closing forever nothing there anymore.
Love the shipping department. Great service fast and he was really cool about the part of me typing in the same item more then two times..lol..i was very tired, but he was really cool about it. They do have great prices on clothes. The crazy part is i just order a item online and its ready for pick up. Hell i didnt even finish my lunch break.
This store is closing soon:(
I ordered something online and went to pick it up but i didn’t know that the pick is outside the building in the back. They took a long time to give me my item but gave me 2 $5 coupons for future purchase. They forgot to take the alarm off so I had to do a second trip to the store to have them remove it. Overall, I would recommend and didn’t have to pay for shipping costs.
Employees are having too much fun amongst themselves and forget about the customer, I had to wait until they finished running their mouth to get to pay. As far as assisting I helped myself. Store has lots of equipment and merchandise but everyone get to work, instead of wasting time, use the time to expedite sales thats all thats needed here.
Its closing. So sad. Nice friendly employees.
What happened to Sears. The people that use to work there were great, and now no one can help you because its not there department, but they dont call someone for you . You try to pay at at register and they send you to another one because what you are buying is not from there department. I love Sears, I go there for my Appliances, work boots. But I guess I have to start looking elsewhere.
If you want save some money in good quality items they have a really good specials
This is the first time buying at sears they have great offer but I spent more than 40 minutes to pay
I was looking for non-slipped shoes, which some of them were expensive. Nevertheless, the shoes that I purchased appear effective and will last a long time, Ill see though.
Been coming to this Sears for 30 yrs. I love the memories. Miss the repair center.😞 its still my #1 Sears. They have good Appliances. T.Vs and everyone knows about the Tools. Thumbs Up. Store. Come on Down.
Many things on sale but although 50% 60% seem to still be kinda pricey. Some items are a bargain though. Needs to be organized and if racks to hang clothes aint being used they should be put away. I felt like I was going to poke an eye out every time I walked near them.
Wow unbelievable sales going on there closing the store down.so its even better sales going on. a must go and see.
The best place to buy tools and hardware garden supplies for a cheap price to. The clothing here is mediocore the sizing here can be off mostly they run small so youd need to size up. They have plenty of clothes from infants to adults for a cheap price and lots to choose in style as well. And plenty of foot ware to look at
Sad this place closing its doors
This used to be a go to place for my kids clothing needs its turning into a K Mart wouldnt recommend this location
Good place to go around and look for tools and clothes among other things. Employees are friendly. Reason why it did not get 5 stars is because you have to search for employees most of the time.
The store has a lot of good deals and sells a lot of different things like clothes, shoes, appliances etc. Really good store, I especially liked the deals here
Its a bit confusing as to the entrance depending, where you are arriving, but the main building entrance is buy soto and Olympic. The store is heavily populated in the afternoon and weekends so try early morning for comfortable shopping.
Lost of discounts lost of special s got a beautiful pair of boots at great value.
Sears Boyle Heights Store General Manager Francisco and Assistant Manager Tachaka are very knowledgeable and personable and will find you the best possible sale price for your Sears Merchandise you wish to buy and obtain with a very smooth transaction at Sears Boyle Heights. RJR
Bad customer service, try returning iteams couldnt be helpful. Even there MANGER TACHACKA couldnt help. Instead of her look at my receipts didnt even bother. SEARS NEEDS TO HAVE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Excellent and Great Customer ServiceThe Floor Manager on Duty (female) 2nd Floor 11-04-18 at Approximately 5 p.m. she was great and very friendly person also, super professional.😀 Im was very happy with this Customer Service
I love this Sears location! Its an iconic spot. I remember going as a child and they had the chocolate factory in the lobby. I hope it never closes.
Great for shopping for the clothes you need
Ive been coming to this Sears for as long as I can remember. Havent been here the past few months but from what I can remember, its just as youd expect from any Sears. Ive gotten good customer service and as always, different items from clothing to kitchen appliances etc.
The floors are nice and clean
Great Store so many things to buy whatever you want this store has it...And the prices and quality of merchandise the best.....
Was very big and looked like the original Sears store and very historical. Great prices, friendly people!
I felt like I was a vulture picking at the bones. There was hardly anybody in the tool section which is one of my usual stops. The rest of the store seemed quieter than normal. Prices were regular price, not much on sale. Usually the Isle in the tools department is full of on sale items, never have I seen a clear aisle from top to bottom. Many of the shelves only had one or two or none of each item in the drill bit area.I was there a few months ago prior to this experience to exchange a tool. A Craftsman tool. Lifetime warranty? The sales associates are now instructed to be hypercritical and refuse lifetime warranty claims. No more simple return and swap out for obvious tool defects on Craftsman tools.
My best place and store to shop, althoughIts not the same store, as it once was.Once upon a time, this Sears store wasThe king of every store not only inCalifornia, but the whole united statesOf America. Greater, than wall mart,Woolworth, may co, jc pennys ect.
It’s always a hit and miss. Sometimes the experiences can be great, other times they can be horrible.
Thiis definitely the coolest sears building still in operation. The history is remarkable
Sad to hear its over
I used to come with mom when I was little. Good to see they kept this historic store. Its clean and the customer service was very nice. I did not find what I was looking for but that is ok.
