Very unprofessional over the phone. Asked about a certain type of ammo, guy was rude and hung up.

I went in just to browse and see what felt comfortable in my hand since i’ve never owned a gun before. While i was there Jill took the time to help me understand more about the handguns i was looking at. She also seemed very happy and made me feel very welcome 10/10 customer service!

Very good selection of knives and weapons. A large selection of pistols and rifles and the people are very friendly.

Joel was such a great help! I could not get a couple screws off of my p365 xl for a RDS and he managed to get them out and install the new sight! Super great service and very nice store.

I live in Seminole, and my brother and his wife (who are retired military veterans) are here visiting and wanting to purchase a couple of guns. I recommended Sharp Shooters because we always try to give private owners business, and they drove to Lubbock to shop there. Only to be told that they do not offer a military discount at this time because “business is too good to have to do that right now.“ I thought military discounts were to thank our military for their sacrifice and service, not a promotion scheme! Shameful!

I came here to purchase a pistol and look at getting a CCP. I know next to nothing about guns - absolute novice - and was really hesitant about going to a gun store. This is the place to go and ask questions. Everyone in the store was so nice and helpful.Trevor was a really sweet kid. I told him what my concerns were, what I thought I would be using the gun for, etc. and his recommendation was perfect.I plan on going back to get a case, CCP class and whatever ammo/needs I have in the future. If you’re a total novice, you’ll be just fine here!

Service is ok. Seems to be a mom and pop type shop. I do all my transfers here and have had no issues and the folks are good for conversation. Lots of ammo in stock considering the pandemic with some reloading supplies as well. Prices are high, but from my experiences and reading other reviews, they are willing to haggle and price match on some items.

I normally dont write reviews after the first visit but after what happen I figure I should. Went in for the first time last month and the experience stunk! Was trying to buy some ammo but couldnt find what I wanted because no signs were up to help locate them and couldnt find anyone to help me. A guy that I thought was asking me if I needed some help was actually asking the guy next me like I was invincible or something. So I figure I go over there and ask a question but when I did I had to ask twice to get his attention and wait for him to finish his texting before he finally could answer my question and came off short and rude about it. So I had to go else where and spend my money. First time there last time there!

This place always has the most miserable and condescending employees, they had group of them around the gun counter literally trying to make a joke out of me, laughing and talking under their breath.

We came to Lubbock to visit family from North Dakota...had to visit Sharp Shooters before going to the gun range. Very impressed with the friendly, helpful staff.

Went in and bought a $1000 suppressor, was told the Nfa manager wasnt there that day but would be the next to get my form 4 sent off. Went back a month later to check on it because i hadnt recieved any documents to sign or a phone call. Still hadnt even looked at my paperwork so now having to wait extra time on something i already have to wait 6 months to a year on.

This place is horrible customer service is poor and they have nothing but kids that don’t know what to do and give wrong information working the back stay away at all cost

Helpful staff, wide selection, and best prices in town. If I had to design one shop to meet my needs then this is it. Simply put, if you dont at least visit sharp shooters before purchasing a new firearm then you should get your head examined.

Big selection of guns, and they have hollow point ammo. I think their prices might be a little high compared to online suppliers, but great for local shopping. Will definitely come back.

My husband and I talked to someone over Black Friday about a Wilson barrel that they said had to be special ordered. After waiting 4 months for this barrel and multiple phone calls to try to figure out when it would be here, we decided to look elsewhere. We contacted SS Outfitters in Levelland and they had it here within less than a week. It’s unfortunate that sharp shooters couldn’t get it together, because this was definitely a missed opportunity to gain some faithful customers. Will definitely never be using Sharp Shooters again. SS Outfitters is the way to go!

Got everything I needed for my 1911

EDITED on 1/3/2019. Business called back to apologize and inform me that improvements would be made to website purchase process. Changed rating in appreciation from 2 to 4. I understand that businesses dont always get it all right. As long as they genuinely try to improve, I am willing to give them another chance. As I wrote in my original post, they have a great gun selection and competitive prices. As a result, I am willing to go back.

Went in the store not sure what to expect due to the mixed reviews here. A co-worker had made a purchase here a few months ago and had nothing but good things to say, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted promptly on entering the store and everyone working there was very polite and helpful. Their selection is excellent prices arent anything special but are not out of line with anyone else. I found a pistol I had been wanting and was very pleased with the service I received. I would definitely do business with these nice folks again.

Went in for some gunsmith pricing. Gentleman who helped was knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Not at all arrogant as some other places Ive been. Went back the next day with my rifles and was taken care of immediately. Ill be back for sure.

Went in last Friday 01/10/20 and service was OUTSTANDING. I couldn’t believe how busy they were it was like a weekend, customers everywhere but there were enough staff to make sure everyone was being helped, including multiple gun purchases. I was also purchasing a gun which Charles had helped me tremendously get ahold of from out of state just awesome service, and at the same time Mike was in there in his shorts on his day off yet he spent 20 minutes with me walking around giving me advice on reloading supplies.When I go in to cabelas or sportsman’s I usually teach them a thing or two.. when I go into sharpshooters I get taught a thing or two. I would rather make the drive when looking into making an honest purchase. The largest selection I know of, you can literally look at used guns for hours. Arrogant, Over priced, and provided better service to white people but sure did overlook us colored people (Hispanic/black) if I could put a negative star rating I would. Will not be going back. Everything is overpriced and they rip off newbies to the shooting world when you can get better deals pretty much everywhere else. UPDATE: Sharp Shooters GM has since replied to me and apologized for the negative experiences I have encountered at this establishment, they are doing their best to make light of the situation and have offered to make things right. I really appreciate the generosity and hospitality. Hopefully from now on my new experiences with Sharp Shooters will trump my previous, Im giving them 5 stars for taking care of my situation and will update with further experiences ahead.

A lot has changed for the better since the new location. Better prices, better inventory, better parking, easier access and better organization in the store. Their NFA service is unmatched, inventory is exceptional and ordering something unique is usually no trouble. Not a better outdoor or sporting clay range in West Texas and usually have a wide selection of ammunition and optics available. They will match any legit price on anything and are good to deal with. If you haven’t already, stop in and check it out and give this great, local, Lubbock business a chance to earn yours.

Great place to shop for all your gun needs

I spent a weekend in Lubbock visiting my girlfriends family and decided to hit a couple of gun stores and ranges as I had time to kill while she was taking care of family business. It appears to be a pretty competitive market for gun stores in Lubbock, as you can imagine, and I found the staff at Sharp Shooters to be the most friendly, informative, and non-judgemental in town. I am a returning shooter with a long hiatus and a lot has changed in the gun market since I was in my 20s. I went to three gun stores and this was by far the best experience. I bought some ammo, accessories, and then went to a range they recommended which was another great experience. Oh, and the selection was incredible in both used and new firearms.

This is the best place for firearms and accessories. The customer service is phenomenal; employees are always asking how they can help and they offer the best prices you can find. My husband and I drive two hours to get there every time we want to purchase a firearm because we wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. They’re very helpful, offer a great purchasing experience, and we couldn’t recommend them enough.

The people there are very friendly and helpful. Only issue there is they over charge you for firearms and ammo. Bought a 1911 there and even after a military discount they were still higher than Academy by over $50. Same gun just $100 more at this place. Recommend buying elsewhere. Update I got a phone call from the GM of the store and he gave me a gift card for the difference.

LOVE this store! The people are knowledgeable, helpful and take care of you every time. Especially as a woman, I can really appreciate a place that caters to women, and Sharp Shooters does that exceptionally well. Definitely will continue to shop here for years to come.

Ive visited this store twice in the last year and will return (from out of town). The inventory is in the top 5 places Ive visited of dozens of shops across the US. Prices are about average; some good deals, others are a little high. But the huge inventory makes up for the prices; you can compare items and ensure you know what youre getting.The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The resident gunsmith spent some time explaining how front sight dovetails are measured and why the same base measurement may not fit all firearms.

I had an extensive and complicated order today. Hunter was awesome. He was very helpful and friendly through the whole order.

The staff is friendly and the selection is impressive. However the prices are ridiculous. They sell used firearms for MSRP. I dont know how they stay open or sell any guns.

Its been several years since Ive been to Sharp Shooters, but today I had a really great experience. The store looks MUCH better than it used to. My brother described it as grandmas attic before. I really like the organization and selection, and the addition of reloading supplies.What really made things stand out today was exceptional customer service. Everyone in the store was determined to go above and beyond in helping every customer that walked in, and those that called. I was helped finding magazines, a sling, some specific guns, and given a deal at checkout. I will definitely be back at Sharp Shooters with a renewed confidence in what my experience will be like.

Terrible staff that doesn’t care to help you, or to try and inform or coach you rather put you down if you don’t know absolutely everything about one specific gun you ask a question about. What’s the point in going there to buy a gun might as well read online about a gun and order it through a licensed dealer besides sharp shooters. Piss poor attitude and it’s sad a local business is this piss poor and entitled it doesn’t represent what the majority of people who are conservative and support the second amendment are about!! It’s about respecting each other and this place couldn’t care less.

Ive been buying and trading guns at Sharp Shooters since I was 18. No better place to buy guns or accessories. Prices are better than Cabelas and as good as Academys. Trigger messed up on my sons shotgun right before we were going turkey hunting and they were able to fix it on the spot.

They were willing to help out a girl that had very minimal knowledge about guns. They have a good selection with reasonable prices as well.

Charged $30 shipping for ONE BOX of primers..Someone from the store called me next day after placing order and cancelled the order saying it wasn’t enough to cover shipping costs.Promised a refund...had to call back after a week...only sent a partial refund, tried to keep the $30 shipping fee.Horrible service.

Way over priced on quite a few products. Went in today looking for an H&K P30, and cant figure out why theyre asking $280.99 more than H&Ks published MSRP. Their website lists the MSRP at $719 for the model I looked at, and Sharpshooters wants $999.99 for it. No thanks. Huge selection though. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Called and was hung up on by a young lady. Told by the young lady they had the part we needed and when we finally found them, one guy had no idea what a A2 buffer was, the second guy tried to find one but called it a weight. No luck here. Four stars because they tried.

After reading all of the negative reviews I was leery about doing business with Sharp Shooters. I didnt buy a gun, instead I dropped my gun off to have the site lined up. As soon as I walked in on Wednesday at 4PM there was a young man that helped me immediately. I want to add that the staff is probably trained to be on guard and that may be the reason that some people may feel that they are rude or as one person put it maybe he had a bugger on his forehead. I would think that they have to read and assess people that come in to their store just because of the nature of the business. Anyways, when I went in today to pick my gun up another young man immediately helped me AND as I was walking out the door another older gentleman thanked me for coming in.As far as overpriced merchandise, I am not sure but plan on purchasing a fire arm in the near future and I will definitely price them before I go anywhere else.

I try not to write about things from having one bad experience, but enough is enough. I have gone in many times and have bought thousands of dollars in guns. I will be ordering online from now on unless someone can recommend a good local shop.Sharp Shooters guys could care less about their customers. They will completely ignore you and seem bothered when you do ask a question. Also, to the staff, dont assume all customers are newbies, do more research on what you carry in the store and sell to a customers needs, not to your own personal agenda. Worst thing about it is the owner is steering the ship!!

Went to Sharpshooters a few times when I moved here a few years ago and had bad experiences every time, identical to the negative experiences many listed here and swore I would never go back in. I kept to my word for a couple years, but recently decided to stop in since I had heard many others state that they have been having positive experiences lately due to changes that were made at the store. I have been extremely impressed! I have been in several times in the past few months and not one bad experience. Even when I was obviously just wasting time and browsing, I was treated like a valued customer. Every people has been extremely helpful and respectful. If you wrote them off due to a bad experience in the past, I would definitely give them another shot and pay them a visit. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, as I was.

Great place for ammo!

All bad. Worst in town. Prices are ridiculous, service is poor and and during the .22 LR crisis they had bricks of what appeared to be WalMart Federals for 90 bucks. I normally avoid this place like the plague, but went over to see this. No proof that the ammo came from WM, but it sure looked like it. Like one other reviewer said, go there to eyeball, but buy somewhere else.

Dudes are knowledgable and friendly. Prices are pretty comparable to around town, sometimes better. Free fountain drinks if you buy stuff. Score.

Those negative reviews seriously dont know what they are talking about. Probably felt dumb with things they didnt know, whatever I love the place along with the employees. Only place I can go for the things I need.

Used sharpshooters for an ffl, having taurus repair my handgun, made four trips to sharpshooters and was told each time that my gun had not recieved from taurus yet, twice i was told that they have a college student that is in charge of shipping and receiving and he only works part time, you will have to come back another time. Sales person leaning on gun counter, no customers wouldnt help me check and see if gun was there or not. Made several phone calls giving my name and number, never got return call or update. Ends up after i called taurus they gave me a fed ex tracking number i called sharpshooters and they had the gun for exactly 30 days in the back. Will never set foot in their store again, there are other gun stores in Lubbock that are friendly and want to put out the effort. Thats my opinion david kizer

There was an issue with my student loans...my money was delayed a few weeks and I needed to sell a pistol that I didnt shoot very often to bridge the gap. They offered me $300 on a lightly-used gun with night sights that they were asking OVER $750 for NIB a few cases away. Like an idiot I took the deal because I really needed the $$ and figured I wouldnt do much better elsewhere. Wow, what a fool I was. I now do business across town and the guy who works at that store said that he easily could have given me $125 more and still made a decent profit on the gun. Never again. They also act like they are doing you a huge favor just by letting you walk through the door. They are anywhere from $75 to $200 higher than EVERYONE else in town. I dont care how long theyve been in Lubbock or what their selection is...there are simply too many better gun shops in town to give these guys your business.

I have done business with Charles Black at sharp shooters for years now. I have bought several guns from him thru the years. Yes i agree that some of his staff has a ruff edge and forget that we are the reason the doors stay open. But i have had even worse luck trying to trade with Gander MTN. to the point i will not go in there doors. Last weekend my home was broken into and a pistol that i bought from Sharp Shooters was stolen . I did not have the serial # and called to see if they could look it up and was helped 100 % !! I will keep spending money with Sharp Shooters

Prices are too high on all merchandise, people who work there have always acted pompous and high mighty to me. Always takes a long time to get help. Transfer fees are higher than anywhere else. Wouldnt spend my money here, plenty of other options. And I hate to say it but the internet is waaaaay better on prices. I would like to keep my money local but the prices are outrageous, either get with the times and match up or disappear.
