What do think happens when a mechanic has an opportunity to rip you off? Well, when you go to Aamco in Lynbrook, I doubt you’ll find out! I was totally prepared to spend upwards of $300 after taking my wife’s abused car in! Spent a moment with Nick who stated, “I’d love to take your money, but this is all under warrantee. Take it to the dealer!”The dealer was on a 6 minute drive away! All set an hour later.Shop looks well organized and maintained.When out of warrantee, I’ll definitely be back!Thanks Nick.

I sent my daughter there to fix a transmission problem on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. They were honest enough to refer us back to the dealer because they though it would still be under warranty. Turns out they were correct. I cant thank them enough. Nothing like an honest mechanic. Im sold for life !

I started experiencing an issue with my vehicle for some time now. During the cold mornings, the transmission would have a delayed shift. Upon checking the fluid and seeing it being low, I added some more fluid to it. The issue seemed to improve but then it would come back. After dealing with this for several months, I decided to contact AAMO Transmission and Car Care in Lynbrook. When I brought my car in on 1/8/20, I mentioned I needed the transmission fluid and oil changed. Later that day they diagnosed it and Nicholas contacted me regarding what they have found. It caught me by surprise that Nicholas informed me that my transmission is leaking in three places and the transmission lines are rusted, also leaking. I originally thought that the fluid just had to be replaced. When arriving to pick up my vehicle on 1/16/20, the technician noticed after doing the oil change that the filter I supplied was faulty, so they replaced the oil & filter. Nicholas also noticed oil leaking, which he showed me there. He wasnt positive where the leak is but he suggested two or three possibilities. They were able to fix the oil leak since they said its the gasket. He told me to do an undercarriage car wash and come back in 10 days for them to check over the vehicle to make sure it is not leaking. I found Nicholas to be very professional and he was able to work with me regarding the cost of repair. Besides mentioning the credit card, he said they also have low-cost financing which I was able to take advantage of. I feel that if I have gone to a different shop instead, they would have changed the fluid, but I would end up experiencing the same issue. I would highly recommend this AAMCO location for car repair work such as transmissions and oil changes. I would also like to thank the technician that did the transmission work on my vehicle.

The owner nick is a honest guy. I can tell he will not over charge or try to fix a car just to charge and the car is not worth it.

They did a good job on my transmission but when I got my van back there was no power on the inside of my car the did something and blow the main fuse I had to take my van some place else and pay $170.00 to get it fix so if you going to take your can there just expected to to have another problem you have to get fix out of your pocket

I have Subarban 2015 and Aamco garden city branch they put the wrong transmission in my truck and refuse to change when I ask them. Then I talk to head office and visited Nicklaus in Aamco Lynbrook he helped me and change my transmission now its running very good. Nicklaus is nice guy.

Nicholas was very accommodating. I brought the car in, next day he called to inform me what the issue was - transmission had to be rebuilt. He explained in details what would be replaced, of course the costs and when I could pick my truck up..

I’ve been here twice already. Once for my transmission and the other for my mass airflow sensor. Nick shot straight with me and didn’t try to reach into my wallet. This is my spot for anything transmission related.

Horrible experience. Rebuilt transmission made the whole car vibrate terribly. The manager blamed it on other things all of which I had repaired for an additional thousand dollars. Still no improvement. The shifter cable broke during all of this going on so I left the car again. It sat there for a week without them even looking at it. So I took it elsewhere to be fixed. I was told Aamco was to blame for the broken cable, and that the transmission brackets, mount, and pan were improperly re-installed. Upon returning to Aamco and approaching the manager he told me I had work done elsewhere on the car and could now not honor my warranty. They also ignored two attempts from the BBB for a resolution. So now I have no choice but to go to small claims court.

Worst place ever been to .managers is jackass .never experienced a place that a manager has no clue on managing a shop dont have no clue on writing up work orders and dealing with insurance companies.dont inform customers on parts and labor . And not willing to work with Customer on price, to charge a customer over $300 for transmission filter and fluid it was ridiculous. Mechanics was very helpful but they need to get rid of the manager . I should have noticed the clues when you stàrted talking to the manager and he had no clue on transmissions testing and procedure and idealings with insurance company. I say beware

After being told by two different shops that i needed a transmission for my 06 tribute a friend suggested i try aamco lynbrook because of how happy she was with the work they did on her transmission. . Boy am i lucky to have a friend like her turns out i didnt need a transmission after all, the problem was a sensor and some frayed wires. Nicolas the manager a fairly new transplant from another aamco center and his crew were pleasant and very knowledgeable .They found my problem and fixed it for a fraction of the cost saving me a couple of thousand dollars . WAY TO GO GUYS YOU ROCK!!!

The worst experience I ever had. Schweb is a con artist at this trade. I went to Aamco because I had a check engine light. On 10/4/14 it was a Saturday and they close at 12pm. I was asked to leave my car. On Monday I get a call from Schweb and he starts to say maam you have a Volvo, the parts for this car is very expensive. I need your authorization to look at your transmission and the only way I can see the problem is if I take it out. So I said okay. Had I known what I know $700.00 today I would of said no. So he calls me on 10/8/14 and tells me that since I have a Volvo 2001 its going to be very expensive to fix. He said the cost to rebuilt the transmission will cost me $3695.00 and that I needed an engine mount and that will cost $495.00.So I said to him, put back the transmission. Then he said maam, you have to pay for the labor. I asked him how much was the labor because Im not going to pay $3695.00 to rebuilt the transmission. He would not tell me the cost of the labor.Long story short, I had my boyfriend go to the shop with a flatbed tow truck because I did not want to pay for him to put back the transmission or the storage fee. My boyfriend went with the tow truck and he refused to give him the car. He claimed that he could not allow him to take the car open like that and he didnt want anyone to laugh at him. So my boyfriend left with out the car. On 10/28/2014 I was furious because I thought I can trust Aamco with my car. I called and told the gentle man on the phone that I did not want anyone touching my car because I did not trust Schweb anymore. He made my boyfriend sign a letter stating he is not liable for anything with my car. And he charge me $700.00 because Schweb stated he had to charge me for something.This man is a dishonest crook. I was not explained anything in the beginning when he asked me to authorize him to take out my transmission. He admitted that he was wrong for not telling me. And said it was a miscommunication on his behalf for not telling me about any charges if I did not want anything done after he took out the transmission. But I had to pay $700.00. He did not give me an itemized bill for the charges.This man is crook. A liar and a thief. Do not go to this man. I report him to the BBB. This place is not woman friendly!

I went to the one in lynbrook and had an awful time with them. The people were rude and Aamco false advertisements within their company.

They really helped me out got my car done fast and out the door if i have anymore problems these are the guys that i want to fix my car

My Acura TL had its annual transmission issues. Management at this location worked with me in terms of pricing and I havent had any more issues. This is a go-to Aamco.
