First 1st ever visit to northern tools and a equipment. It isIt is definitely 3 steps up from Harbor freight definitely see the higher quality of tools and equipment in this place for sure.And I do understand both businesses cater to different crowds as far as financial standings.

Drove 50 miles (we are in a rural area) for a replacement hose for the pressure washer I purchased at Northern. I took a picture of it as well as had serial number. The manager was called to assist me. He told me that I would have to bring it in or he couldnt help me. There was an identical pressure washer in the store, just a different brand name on it. He didnt even suggest that we look at it. Nor did he try to find out if the hose I needed could be ordered. Would he have been more helpful if I was a guy? Dont know, but I felt dismissed and wont go back there.

I purchased 2 sets of 6 ton jack stands, & they are great.

Came in to norther tool today for a new water pump. I was not sure what I needed and asked for help. Chris came over to assist me and explained the different types and suggested what I needed for the job I wanted to. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to help me and even offered advise on how to connect it. Got it home and Chris was right it went in just as he said and works perfect. Thank you Chris for all your help ! Wonderful store and fine knowledgeable personal.

Northern tool in Macon is a great place to shop. 99% of the time they have what I need in stock and the customer service is always on point.

Staff there was very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. Often I find the things I came to purchase are not in stock. It seems really convenient that the $39 air hammers are all sold out, but the $129 ones are in. This has happened to me 3x now, and Im feeling foolish about even going in to get played by the bait and switch... I bought at Harbor Freight for $15 instead, and Im happy with the quality. I DID buy an air hammer implement at NT yesterday, made by Ingersoll-Rand. It was $42 and I trust the name I-R has been for over 35 years. It broke, just split in two, on my second use. Im returning that today. Harbor Freight is going to eventually push Northern Tool out of the market unless NT improves significantly. HF needs competition to keep the free market in balance, so NT, get it together!

Have a generator in for warranty work for three months now. The generator brand new. Not a happy camper

I like to make periodic trips into the Macon store and sometimes on trips I will visit other locations to pick up an item. I have always found the people and the selections to be the best.

Always friendly staff and helpful when I visit. I have never left empty handed lol.

Nice people, great selection. Macon is about an hour from where I live. I made the drive several times to purchase from Northern Tool. I purchased a NorthStar pressure washer from here about 10 years ago and it is still going strong.

Highly disappointed with the fact that they sell equipment that they dont make parts for. Bought a welding machine just to find out you cannot get replacement parts for it anywhere. Now I have to deal with down time and an unknown refund date. Also took a loss on the 3 year warranty I purchased.

Wow! Outstanding customer service and just a pleasure to do business with. I had a bit of an issue because I bought an item from somewhere else that was too large to haul home. I had it balanced in the bed of my truck. Made it to Northern Tool and purchased a trailer at a great price. They not only helped me hook up the trailer, but they also assisted me with offloading the item from my truck and then helped me reload it onto the trailer...courteous and professional the whole time. Great group of folks there!!

It is hard to rate a store on availability during this season. The store was clean and appears to have a good selection. However, a few items were either sold out or unavailable.The staff was friendly but a sign on the door asks everyone to wear masks. But the individual who checked us out was not wearing a mask.

Reasonable pricing, had what I was looking for, fast secure delivery, I was very happy over all.

Placing order was very convenient and easy.

For some reason, I was unable to order a hand truck that was reduced price for ordering online. I called the store to help with this issue. The woman I spoke with, took the time to find the item and stated that only had one left. She asked if I wanted her to hold it for me, she said shed put my name on it for me to pick up. When I arrived it was waiting for me by the check out. I was expecting to pay full price, seeing as I didnt order it on line. She rang it up at full price, pulled up the on line price and applied the discount for me. I was very pleased with the time and effort she put into finding the item, holding it for me and giving me the discount price as well. Kudos

Usually have most items in stock. Item descriptions advertised in flyers may not be the item you find in the store. They will always say it was an advertising error.

This store has done nothing to protect customers from pandemic. No employees were masks and I was only customer with a mask. They have not installed a shield between cashier and customer. The cashier stood less then 3 ft in front of me and did not attempt to keep back even seeing my mask. He is breathed on by every customer he checks out so the chances that he is sick is very high and this business does not care. I will never shop here again even when this pandemic is over.

This place have a great variety of name brand equipment and tools a d their prices are unbelievable i will definitely get the word out to my associates and any one looking for a deal

Great selection of tools, especially if you need power washing equipment. They carry great quality brands at very reasonable prices. They carry a lot of odds and ends and always worth a trip. My only complaint is the goofy aisle layout but thats easily forgivable.

Its a retail store selling mostly Chinese tools and work supplies. Theyre well-stocked and well-staffed. The store is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The merchandise is usually of higher quality than Harbor Freight, and the goods are more expensive. They also sell utility trailers, work clothes and hydraulic cylinders, valves, and hoses. They have a department in back that does small engine repair.

I was amazed. The young girl that help me with the Briggs & Stratton engine was very knowledgeable and waited on me very quick she was friendly and had a beautiful smile. When I got to the register the cashier ask me if I had oil. I didnt so she got me what I needed and another girl assisted her by going and getting it. Anyway I could not believe the teamwork where everyone was working together. The best service I think Ive ever had anywhere Im not sure what their names were but they need to be commended l .....I have just found out a few days later the main girl that helped me was named Elizabeth. I came back to the review because I want her to know how special she is. People like this are the ones who keep the the doors two big companies open 😉😉😉😉😉

We came in looking for a weed eater rack and asked an associate where they were and we walked to the isle where she said they were and they were not there so we asked her again and she told us another isle . We found them but they were not the ones we were looking for and we checked online and it said they had the ones we were wanting . We never saw them and it would have been nice if the associate would have actually stopped putting out merchandise to help us for 5 min . Also the ladies bathroom was not clean .

Update: 11/2015, this location has been reset. Some products are no longer carried in the store. The reset has provided a clean easy to navigate layout.2011: Doesnt offer as good of product selection as does the Stockbridge location.

My husband purchased a generator the day after Irma. Our electricity came back on, so we did not use the generator. It is still in an unopened box. Their receipt states something about returning items purchased during a storm, etc. First of all....who even looks at their receipt? Secondly, this information should have been told to the customer. Very disappointed that Northern Tool wont take back an unopened, unused generator.

I really liked the store a lot...Parking lot and the store was extremely clean....The staff was courteous and helped me find everything on my list...I also really liked the huge selection of parts and tools...As a small business owner N.T. helped with all my storage needs...Cant wait to go back...
