I go to this store pretty much every week and I always am greeted nicely by the stores proprietor Shawn, he is quite knowledgeable on every and all things comic related. Going into Graham Crackers Madison is always a treat that money cant buy, to me its a place where I can guarantee there is something in there that will make my day better even if I dont end up likening every story I picked up that day!

I called this morning asking for a comic that released today, the owner had told me there was 1 left so I came in after a 1.5 hr drive and had such a great experience! The owner is extremely nice and is very knowledgeable. I will 100% be coming back when I need more comics!

Cool place, way bigger than it looks. Lots to look through. Felt a bit ignored, guy at the counter was chatty but with only people at the register. Didnt say hi or ask anyone if they needed anything. Might be the norm here, Im just not used to that.

Decent selection, some stuff could be priced better. The employee I encountered was not friendly, tried to make a little convo and he completely ignored me. Probably the worst clerk I’ve experienced in several years. Including cities like Chicago and Portland. Won’t be returning.

My daughter begs me to take her here whenever she has spending money. The selection of comics and collectibles is great and the employees are always friendly. Highly recommend.

This comic shop is by far the best I’ve ever been in. The manager, Shawn, is very helpful and will cater to your comic knowledge. If you’re ever on the east side of Madison I highly recommend checking this awesome haven out.

Madison is blessed with a lot of great comic book shops that cater to different tastes, and the arrival of a Graham Crackers shop on the East Side has been a very welcome addition. I discovered the store a few months after it opened in the summer of 2015 and I make sure to stop in regularly on my trips in from out of town. I am heartened by all the great reviews listed here, so I wont take much time repeating their great points about how clean and well-organized and well-run the store is. Ill just say two things. Graham Crackers, which has most of its chain stories in Illinois, provides a massive source of back issue material of mainstream and independent publishers, which makes routine stops to the store worthwhile. But the best thing about this store is its manager, Shawn. I have a met of lot of comic book proprietors in 40 years of going through their doors, and I enjoy talking with them, but Shawn is one of my favorite people in the world. Its not just that hes funny and smart and we have similar tastes. its that hes created a community of diverse customers where just about everybody feels that way about him. I can peruse the store and just see it and hear it in the people who come into the store. Its truly unique. Not a bad legacy to have, man.

I have been reading comics as long as I can remember. I made my parents stand in line with me at comic shops, begged for subscriptions, and have been collecting since day one. Having lived up and down much of the East Coast, Ive frequented countless different locations both large and small, chain and independently owned.I can say that Graham Cracker Comics Madison is WITHOUT FAIL my favorite of all time. The store is clean, well organized, and contains an impressive amount of comic books and related merchandise. The proprietor (HI SHAWN!!!) is incredibly friendly and engaging, not to mention insanely knowledgeable. Not once has this place failed me in my weekly pull list, which is constantly being changed around. Anything that was not available in store has been procured elsewhere for me at an almost inhuman speed. The collection of important/vintage/collectors issues is also impressive for a store of this size.I rest easier at night knowing that my nerd obsession is in good hands, and cannot recommend consistently visiting highly enough. I shall bring swift vengeance and furious anger amongst the responsible parties should this haven ever cease to be.

This place is fantastic! They have a great selection of comics and related merchandise, lots of back issues that rotate pretty frequently. The guys working the counter are very knowledgeable. I’ve come to them with poorly described fragments of childhood comic memories and they’ll somehow put it all together and identify the source. If they don’t have what you’re looking for at the store, they’ll work some magic, find it, order it, and call you when it arrives. To top it off, every Wednesday you can pick three free comics from the $0.50 boxes. You can’t beat that!

Great comic shop with tons of toys and collectibles. I appreciate the fifty cents bins with comics of my era. Lastly, 2 out of 3 times you visit there will be someone there discussing Ryker from Star Trek Next Generation, I think its part of the store, like an interactive display.

I love this comic shop! This is what comic fans in Madison have been waiting for. A wide array of titles from all the big publishers with a tremendous stockpile of back issues that stretches the entire length of the store.The staff is friendly, full of knowledge, and ready and willing to help you find whatever it is you’re looking for. They have never failed to get me a variant or a more obscure title that wasn’t readily available instore.If you’re a Valiant Comics fan like myself, this is where you need to go. Graham Crackers, has by far the greatest selection of new and old Valiant titles in the city.There’s a great variety of toys and collectible figures beautifully displayed along the wall near the front of the store with even more near the back. There’s a discount on items in your pull-list and great sales going on regularly.Again, I love this store. If you haven’t, you need to check it out.

This shop is great for many reasons. When I first walked I got a real hello and immediately felt welcomed. Then I noticed the selection. New weekly, lots of back issue boxes and a great variety of geeky comic book related art and toys. Excellent Valiant comics section which I love. Everything a comic fan or casual reader, or hard core comic nerd needs. Great store.But the main reason one should go back to this store is the manager. Shawn is friendly, reads and enjoys comics, loves to chat about stories really is a fan of comics. Cant say enough about first rate customer service at this store. #MustVisit

Since my fiance showed me this place Ive been coming here regularly and havent had the need to go anywhere else. Service is nothing short of excellent every single time we visit. Very clean and organized store with great selection and if you need something they dont have they have no troubles with ordering a specific item. I normally dont review places but this shop is fully deserving of a 5 star review. Will continue to shop here and is my only recommendation to all.

I came in on Sunday and was warmly welcomed by the attending staff. As I browsed the store, I would ask questions about certain comics and collections and the staff member was very knowledgeable of the content and very eager to answer my questions. The store was very clean and is a joy to look at and walk around. Will be back soon!

I have been to several comic book places near and around Madison and this is by far my favorite place. The help and selection is great, if there is something I can’t find they’re really good at ordering or finding it for me. I’m really picky when it comes to comics and they have given me really nice and helpful advice or recommendations. I have never purchased something here that I regretted, especially not recommendations of things I would normally not read or get into. This place is great and I highly recommend it!

This is my favorite place to go for comics i live out of Madison and i still come here for my comics the manager Shawn Spurlock is a very nice and honest man. It also almost always has anything i need, comics, action figures, cards, THEY HAVE IT ALL!! Anyway if you havent already been here do so immediately!

I went there last Sunday and the guy behind the counter was super helpful! He was awesome and recommended some great new series I had never heard of based on the stuff I like. Usually Im very picky about my comics but he was spot on! Cant wait to go back- he definitely just got a lifelong customer.

Graham Crackers is an awesome comic shop! They have a great selection of new comics from a variety of publishers as well as a nice back stock of older comics. I visited this shop based solely on reviews, and was NOT disappointed. The owner is just as advertised, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about comics. I wish Id had the time to look through back issues but Ive only recently come back to this comic book addiction and I no longer carry with me my wishlist of books I need for a complete collection. It wasnt extremely busy during my visit so owner Shawn was able to get into my head and recommend a few titles I had overlooked. In fact I bought a comic based on his conversation with the customer who made a purchase before I had, and he was right, it was probably the best comic to come out this week (Immortal Hulk #1), Im not even much of a Marvel fan, but when you know your stuff... I can only mirror what many have already said, very well organized, clean and lots to look at. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the store, and enjoyed talking with Shawn, you can tell hes passionate about comics and that makes such a difference compared to places where theres just a kid at the counter to take your money. I highly recommend this place for veteran comic book geeks like myself and for anyone just getting into it. Its a great store, even though I dont live close, I will come back here for certain.

Some months ago I came into here with my girlfriend. Neither of us knew anything about comics but were extremely interested. All we had to do was ask & I was given the entire rundown on what I was getting into. Avid comic fan now. Employees are helpful and informative. Awesome place. Organized, clean, and friendly.

Graham Crackers Comics is one of several stores in a chain of comic book stores, mostly located in IL. Their Madison, WI location is the first in Wisconsin, and a welcome addition to the area. Dont let the odd sign fool you. If its a big yellow sign that simply says Comics - youve found Graham Crackers!The store carries both new and back issue comics from Marvel, DC, and other publishers, as well as new release graphic novels, toys, action figures, comic supplies, statues, and more.Their back issue comics are divided by publisher, and nicely alphabetized. Most of their boxes have room in them so that you can flip through the comics, rather than being stuffed overfull. All of the back-issue comics that I have looked at are in excellent shape, and are bagged and boarded. There is a selection of exceptionally old comics that might be of a lesser grade, but I cannot comment on these as they are older than my tastes run.In addition to their individually priced back-issue comics, they also have a large number of long boxes of clearance comics, priced below a dollar. While these arent bagged and boarded, they are still in good shape, and priced accordingly. Other bargains can be had by looking in their flyer, usually located towards the front of the store. They have a few coupons in the back of the flyer that are good during various months of the year.The staff is friendly, and willing to look for things either in store, or in the computer system of one of the other stores in the chain. Theyll also happily make suggestions as to what comics you should read, what comes next in storyline, etc.As the other major comic book store chain in town does not carry back-issues, I am happy to have Graham Crackers around!

Really love this store, it nice to have a comic shop in madison thats not all the way downtown. Easy access is nice, however, prices on collectibles like Marvel legends can be super pricey. Even on ones that just came out. For example scorpion from the far from home wave was 37 dollars over the average 20. I realize that profits have to be made, but for a figure that just came out not long ago it was a bit much. I ended up deciding against getting it because of the price.

For the most part a nice store with comics and pop culture related toys,etc.The down side almost every old book or magazine or one off item in the back had no price. I dont ask what prices are because I dont want to pay the price of the moment, price your items.

Nice sized store and no BS magic and warhammer tables taking up valuable comic floor space. Selection is great and staff are always helpful and willing to fill you in on whats going on in some of the more confusing parts of comic universes. Staff have introduced me to many amazing books I would have otherwise never read.

I heard awful things about this establishment from my friends from the short tempered, ethnically ambiguous boy behind the counter that would physically attack them to the smell of rancid meat coming from the back but I was severely disappointed when I found everything to my liking. The brown boy treated me with the utmost respect and took his time helping me find the most obscure comics I could imagine and even recommending another store when they were out of stock. I have visited hundred of comic shops across the country and this one is among the best. Its the perfect blend of newer stuff mixed with one-of-a-kind treasures. I like my shops to have comics, both old and new, toys, statues, graphic novels, smalls, etc. etc., and Graham Crackers Comics in Madison has it all. Shawn Spurlock who runs the store is accommodating, knowledgable, and genuinely loves what he does. I enjoy stopping in every time I pass through town. Highly recommend you check it out.

As a collector of old comics, I was thrilled to see the place helmed by an old person. The manager is a nice man who likes cole slaw and delights in the music of Mrs. Miller. Don’t be surprised if he directs you to your new favorite comic book. Don’t be surprised, period. This is not one of those Madison comic book stores with a salad bar, booth seating, and place mats, but no comic books. The selection of new and old comics is very good. There is a trove of cash only comics. There is a floor and the ceiling is promised to remain at the same height during your visit. What a country!

Shawn is the only thing worth visiting on the east side. I mean the shop is good too I guess.

Wow! Why isnt this place better known by comic collectors in the area?! Or maybe Im just late to the game. Either way, incredible selection of comics new and old. If youre a collector, I challenge you to walk out of this store disappointed.

Hadnt purchased a comic book and was looking for something new in the realm of horror comics. Staff listened and delivered. Now Im addicted to Revival. So dont be afraid to ask the owner any questions. Excellent selection of action figures as well.

Centrally located with plenty of parking. They are extremely knowledgeable of everything comic. Always friendly and helpful. When I was there another coustomer asked if they had anything his pregnant wife would like and Shaun came up with an issue of a pregnant MS Spiderman. Wow

This has been the best comic book store Ive ever been to. The staff is super friendly, its clean and well organized, and Shawn is very knowledgeable about comics and suggestions based on each person that asks him!

Store has great potential. I like how the store has back issues but dont like how the good back issues are mixed in with the regular stuff, I watched another customer slinging comics all over the place. Another issue is the weekly issues were not up to date or isolated from the the other back issues so very difficult to get most recent comics. During checkout the clerk kept tapping my comics on the counter which damages the spine of the comic and devalues it. Finally a few of the statues were grossly overpriced. But for all of those problems, the store holds potential. Isolate valuable back issues, organize your new comics, do some research on statue prices and for the love of God DONT smack consumers purchases on the COUNTER that would be like ripping a seam out of shirt or scratching the paint on a car.

Knowledgeable staff great selection of back issues and new comics. The manager there helped get me up to speed after not picking up a comic book for 15 years.

Picked a book with a white price sticker from one of their back issue boxes. Went to pay for it with credit card and was told it was cash only because it was a consignment. Told clerk I wasnt from the area and didnt carry cash and so would look around and see if there was anything else I could find. Asked clerk to take a book down from upper rack. Looked it over and said I would take it. He took it to the register while i continued to look. Again when I went to pay was told it was a consignment book (yellow price tag this time) and required cash only. I really felt that he didnt want to sell me anything and left. Will not return again!

I came in with my family on a Saturday, the guy was very short with us and was rushing us out of the store and it wasnt close to closing time,but then it dawned on me he does it Everytime Im in there,I would not be supporting this business any longer and luckily my kids didnt notice his rudeness and we carried on as if nothing happen. This man is nice to who he wants to be nice too. Oh and Everytime I would ask about a poster he had every excuse on why he didnt have none and one was because he thought it was ugly but I thought what the customer wanted smh
