My favorite comic shop by far. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The owner is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met and always goes well above and beyond. I’ve been going to Haven off and on for 3 years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Not just a cool store, they also have a live Quiz Show which is a lot of fun! Its on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM (on YouTube & FB Live), but if you cant catch it then, do what I do & watch the next day. Its turned out be the highlight of my Fridays the last few months.

Amazing little shop! I came here to check out Marvel comics and get tickets to a local convention. I can’t wait to purchase my dream comic that I saw here! Will be back :)

Good selection, friendly and knowledgeable

Far too often a comic shop can make you feel like an outsider, but this is a great store with a friendly atmosphere. I had been away from comics for decades but Josh and Justin welcomed me and helped me in finding a pull list I wanted and enjoy. They have quickly become two friends I love to visit every Wednesday.

I really enjoy when I can get by there which is not as much as I want. I was very put-off by the other two comic shops in town. One being gigantic and not caring at all about you ....and the prices were just stupid. The other was not ideal either. I will only go to Haven now. The staff are really nice and the new location is awesome. Small is sometimes better, they know you and make you feel like an old friend, not just a consumer.

Well informed staff, issue boxes for those upcoming comics you dont want to miss. Reminds me of the shops I visited when I was a kid. No frills but everything you could ask for from a comic shop. Its well hidden behind a strip of stores at 1871 Slaughter, very easy to overlook. But dont of you need a fix of nostalgia or to treat your kids to the same experience you enjoyed as a child with comics.

Im walked in Friday to get a superman comic for my nephew who was coming to town and I asked the worker what he would recommend. He did a great job showing me some potential options and being very accommodating. I would go back again.

My favorite thing about Haven is how comfortable and welcoming it is for women -- something that comic book stores often have a problem with.When I started dating my now-wife, I had no qualms about bringing her with me to gaming days. Weve met some of our best friends through Haven.

A small, intimate game and comic store, but the employees are kind and knowledgeable. Obviously not near the size as somewhere like The Deep, but Id argue thats a positive, rather than a negative.

I love coming to talk shop with Justin and Josh. It’s not like that other place where you are treated like a number. You are valued as a havenite at Haven! I really enjoy coming here and getting my comics and other trades. Just wished he had more Funko Pops!

Ive thought a lot about whether or not to write this review, but I guess the owners are owed the opportunity not to lose future customers.I used Haven for about a year. I had a box I shared with my husband. I was a regular. I dreaded going.The first thing to happen was I won a raffle on free comic book day. The employee on duty seemingly looked me up on Facebook from my raffle or my subscription box and friended me. I did not know this person otherwise. Theres a part of me that wonders if I really won the raffle.Over the next year I became increasingly upset going there. The employee working would often follow me outside to continue talking to me. If more than one employee was present they would all come into the small main room and talk to me, compliment me, ask me questions. This sounds nice. But I could never browse or talk to a companion. Its like they were uncomfortable with silence.This happened every time I went. I was asked personal questions about a brace on my wrist, incessantly complimented on everything I was wearing, and suggested a different event/comic every time I went in. I considered complaining to the owner, but he was very much a part of the issue and none of them ever seemed to recognize my uncomfortable reactions or demeanor.Constant suggestions wouldve been fine but no one ever seemed to pay attention to what we actually read. As avid Marvel and Image readers we got exhausted saying no to a different DC pitch every week. We had a box with over a dozen subscriptions, if you feel the need to suggest, you have a baseline to begin with.But then there was the problem of the box. Stuff was always late, or not there, or wed get it twice. When a couple is sharing a box this sucks. One of us often came home to discover wed been given a second copy of a comic the other reads and had already picked up. We were also having stuff put in our box that we were not subscribed to (very irritating if you dont know EVERY title you spouse reads), and upon bringing this up, it was insinuated that was intentional. In addition to that, an employee would often have to message me (from his personal page) to confirm what I was subscribed to.Eventually we canceled everything because we both dreaded pick up and the culture in there is not helpful to anyone just wanting to grab their subs. My husband waited for a while on his last visit only to find nothing in his box. This wouldnt normally be frustrating, but their were two employees behind the counter, but rather than one checking boxes, they were both just chatting with the customer checking out. Ive also shown up twice to the store being inexplicably closed during regular hours.It was just way more work then it ever needed to be to do something very simple. Coupled with the issue of feeling suffocated and creeped on every visit, I didnt find it to be worth my business.
