Have been coming to the shop for several years for car related issues. Im usually not quick to judge and understand things happen but after a while you can see a pattern.Pros1. Staff and front desk is always very polite, patient, and respectful and easy to talk to.2. Provide multi point inspections, sometimes can catch things that are off that you didnt know. One time they noticed my cars rear tires were in front and vice versa after another shop had rotated my tires not knowing it was a staggered setup.3. Location, many neighborhoods are nearby.4. Tires, will price match.Cons1. Expensive, higher than all other shops and dealerships in the area for same services often by 1.5x the dealership rate.2. Quality, is hit and miss, once an oil change was leaking oil, another time new tires had no tire caps.3. Dishonest work, probably the biggest issue and hence the push to post this review. Will tell you things are wrong that arent. This is apparent from other reviews as well.A. Got told my suspension needs replacement, and itll be 1700$. Had 3 other shops clarify there were no issues.B. Was told my discs and pads need replacement. 2 other shops clarified, only brake pads need replacement.C. My headlight went out, and paid 250$ since it was labor intensive. 2 months later went out again. Paid 130 for a test to check wiring and stated I need a new headlight assembly and would be 900$. So, 1300 almost for a headlight. Got it checked by the dealership and they state theres no issues with the assembly after the ran their own test, the bulb just needs to be replaced again and theyd do it for 80$ without a charge for the test. 80$ vs 1300$. Said the bulb went out again possibly due to grease or a bad bulb but the assembly was good.4.Hidden costs, a trend Ive noticed where theyll inform you of the cost at first, then fix something halfway then call and state more costs are needed. Hence, my headlight issue. My fathers truck made an unusual sound from the steering wheel. He paid 1000$ to fix the steering wheel rack, yet the noise persisted, and got a call later saying another part needs replacement for an additional 1300$ to fix the sound. Reference older reviews which comment on the same experience.Have had some positive experiences in the past, but I found it deeply insulting to be taken advantage of.

I came here on Saturday before noon to line up for an emissions inspection. I was the only car in line and waited maybe 15-20 mins for them to get it done. I was in and out super quick. Highly recommend this location for emissions/safety inspections as they get them done fast. Service was professional and the people working there were very nice to me.

I’ve been here a few times to get my car serviced or my tires changed and every time I come Juan always helps me and let me tell you Juan is super professional, knowledgeable and will go the extra mile for you he is definitely a great asset to the company if you go and worn with Juan he will definitely deliver!

My wife recently had work done and they gave us a estimate far less than what it actually cost. It cost over $600 more that what they said. Their answer was sorry we must of miss spoke. They will NEVER have our business ever again. They told my wife the extra work would bring the bill up to $1000 and did NOT say it was gonna be another $1000 on top of the $600.

Location is great and convenient and the front of the house is pleasant. Disappointed that I took time to make an appointment and had to wait 45 minutes just for them to roll my car into the shop. Will not bother scheduling for quick service again 😔

Both my car and my husbands car needed a state inspection. I called ahead and they told me to come right in. They also performed my oil change while I was there. I did need rear tires soon so they gave me a quote and we did some research to see if we could get better pricing elsewhere, possibly at Costco. They said they would price match too which I appreciated. We couldn’t find better pricing and honestly their professionalism and timeliness is what won me over. So we ordered the tires and brought my husbands car in which he needed new rear brakes. They put them in same day and they offered me a rental car so I could go back to work and not be stuck. On top of that we were able to get super easy financing and saved even more money. 0% interested for 6 months plus additional discounts. Victor was attentive, professional and made it easy to do business with. We have 5 kids and time is money to us. Thank you Victor for all your help!

Okay, this location is great! The folks here are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I came in with a flat tire which, I had to replace. However, the price was 150 including labor.. Great deal. Come here if your in Bristow and have car trouble or maintenance needs. The coffee is fresh and hot. Plus free wifi while you wait.

My car overheated and I was able to pull into shop leave my car, was offered a free loaner car and I accepted. Made it to work on time. They repaired car same day. I will have more service done in the future. Very convenient to be given a loaner car. Thanks again.

My go to car shop. Their credit card is a great deal, staff is always friendly, and they get work done very quickly. Once you have your vehicle in their system you can go to any location in the area and they have all your records which is nice. i’ve been to several of their locations and have had great experience with all!!! pricing is fair too and they often have coupons on their website for things like state inspections & oil changes so check that out if you’re planning to get serviced soon

Juan was the picture of professionalism and customer service. I thought I needed a new tire and he guided me towards repairing my current tire. He was extremely friendly and has the customer’s best interest in mind. You’ve gained a new customer.

Appointments seem to be a waste of time here. They also reached out the day before to confirm an appointment. Dropped off my car the following day only to see it not move for hours. When asked, they claimed they just received the parts. For one, they never mentioned needing to order standard brakes, so I question the integrity of the employees. Bottom line they’re not upfront about what is going on.

I typically don’t have any issues with this location but I had an 11:30 appointment for a basic tire rotation and left at 12:30 with my truck not even in the bay yet. No communication about there being a delay or anything. People make appointments for a reason.

The employees are very friendly. I had an unfortunate incident with them, but the gentleman who assisted me did what he could to make right.

Did my oil change and whole experience was very pleasant, and was out in an hour.

In May, 2017, the shop replaced the valve cover gasket (a $767 repair). The technician incorrectly installed the gasket upside-down and did not reattach the cable assembly to the side of the motor upon completion. This was discovered a few weeks later when the car began misfiring and left my wife stranded. The incorrectly performed work at Virginia Auto caused an oil leak that saturated the ignition coils and spark plugs and cost $2,192 to repair. I addressed the issue with Oscar, the shop manager, and was reimbursed for the repair.

They generally have some kind of movie playing in there waiting room, if you need or want something to help you pass the time.In a developing area, so while construction on the roads continues, expect to need to pay close attention to where you are going!

Virginia Tire & Auto of Bristo was great. I spoke with Victor about low tire pressure in the left back wheel. He said to come on in even though they were booked to 11 AM. He said it would take about an hour once I got there. It actually only took about 35 mins. Juan came over and told me what they did and took the time to answer all of my questions. Definitely will be back for all my tire concerns!

I had a very bad flat tired that required to get it changed and also get the wheel order because it presented a problem. Big shout out to Juan for helping me out with explaining everything, I called about 20 times (literally) and every time I called he was very understanding and was extremely helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Good place to go for tire related issues, and that’s about it. The couple times we went here for a tire related service they tried to tell us we had some other important job that needed to be done over $800. We have a different mechanic we trust and each time this happened we would go to him for a second opinion and to possibly have the job done. He would put our vehicle on his lift, show us the part and there would be nothing wrong. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE.

Brought my car in for an oil change. They were very polite. However, after the oil change I noticed my coolant had been completely drained, causing my engine to overheat. They mentioned oil spots on my engine and a few other issues they thought I should have them fix. The oil spots were from them during the oil change. And, they failed to mention actual very visible issues that needed to be addressed. When asked why my car was drained of coolant they said they would look into the issue and never followed back up. Beware of shady service.

I woke up to find a flat tire this morning. I made my way to Virginia Tire and Auto. The staff DROVE me back to my car and helped fill the tire up. They were even prepared to help me put on my spare if the tire wouldnt hold air. Thank you all very much for helping me get back on the road.

I tried them out to get a tire rotation and wheel alignment a couple of weeks ago. Well with my tires being rotated a couple of them have some cupping issues which causes some tire noise as Im driving. I took it back today for them to check it out and he explained to me what was going on. He put my mind at ease and Im very appreciative. I will take my car back to them for future servicing.

I had the best service experience I’ve ever received at the Bristow Virginia Tire and Auto! Their service is unmatched, they really went above and beyond. After taking my car to the dealer several times with no resolution to my problem, Va Tire and Auto solved it in one visit! My 2012 baby drives like brand new again! The staff was very professional, friendly and efficient. I was in and out without a wait. Although I almost wish I had because the building is so beautiful and clean! Unlike any other auto shop I’ve been at. They explained the issues with my car thoroughly. I actually left happy paying the bill! I will never go to anyone else again!

Came for a simple oil change and tire rotation and that all went well and quick too! However, they came back saying my brakes were very low (2/32) and that I needed to replace my brakes and roters almost immediately and they quoted me for $900. I decided to have a 2nd look a Midas (amazing by the way) and they said my brakes would be good to go for another 20-30K miles and they were at 7/32 and 5/32. What were they measuring at 2/32? I dont know, they either measured the wrong thing or cant read it correctly. Anyways, I also checked in on that quote which actually would have turned out to be $970. What did they quote me the first time? Or are they just trying to make a quick grand? Dont appreciate the bull or being lied to. Avoid this place, plenty of other great places in the Manassas area.

My husband and I were on our way to a hike for our anniversary when we noticed our back tire was making a horrendous noise. We drove straight to VA Tire & Auto and they checked it out right away for us. They ended up finding our mud flap stuck between our wheel and the car! Crazy! They fixed it for us, took out a nail that they had found, and had us back on the road in 20 minutes. My husband and I have always loved the way they do business but this was above and beyond. So helpful. Thank you for your kindness and quick service! You saved the day.

Ive gone here with two of my cars since it opened and the staff is great and honest. Not too strict on the inspections, knowledgeable staff, and comfy chairs are a plus. I took my new Camry in to get new tires and the staff was helpful and a window to watch them work on my car helped pass the time. I cant speak for their heavier level maintenance because I only go here for routine maintenance, but they do it very well. Definitely will keep coming back here.

Absolutely do not recommend this place. They are clearly not the place to bring vehicles for bigger mechanical jobs. Horrendous follow-up customer service, too.

I took my Jeep in for an inspection today and it failed for brakes. After purchasing new pads and returning home to replace them, I attempted to remove the wheels to get started. Attempted in the sense that I used my standard lug X wrench to loosen the lugs and upon applying significant force to one of them, the bolt itself seemed to bend due to being overly tightened.I was immediately taken over by the Dark Side and I called the shop to let them know that I was incoming. Upon my arrival, Jose met me and went with me outside to examine the lug and at that point, quite tactfully I might add, let me know that they hadnt removed that wheel. He showed me the indicator of the wheels which were removed and then he and the gent who actually does the inspection looked at the lug. We discussed options and I asked them to start by seeing if the nut could actually be removed.These guys professionalism and customer service took me from being borderline losing my mind to chill and my annoyance redirected to the real culprits (A tire shop to remain nameless) as well as going the extra mile to make sure that I could remove all the nuts when I got home.Its stuff like this which will make me a loyal customer. No one got snarky with me about my error and took my irritation in stride. I miss the days when you could buy your mechanic a beer.If there is stuff I cant do at home, I start here at Bristow VT&A. Good bunch, pros, and they do their best to take care of the customer.Thanks a bunch guys.

My little sister went here a couple months ago to see what was wrong with her Ford Crown Vic as she was having an issue with it overheating. They quoted her over $700 for a bunch of stuff including an alignment?!? We took it to our trustworthy mechanics and they fixed it in about a hour which it turned out to be a simple hose replace for under $100. They have ripped me off while getting my own car inspected with failing it for multiple things which would have passed otherwise. I would not recommend them to ANYBODY. They are scam artist and I am never going here again.

Brought my car in to have a ticking noise fixed. They fixed a drive belt that cost $500, but it did not fix the issue and also caused white smoke to come out of my tailpipe. They had my vehicle for 4 days. Charged me for a diagnostic. You did not find the smoke then? (This is not something you can miss-photo attached) Maybe it was just bad timing where the day after I pick up my car, white smoke comes out my tailpipe. I take my vehicle back to let them know they did not fix anything, and in fact made something worse, and they tell me they have figured out that the ticking noise is coming from the engine and would need to take it apart for another $4000. They also tell me that they did not cause the smoke and is caused by another issue. Ok...smh...Why would I trust whoever your mechanics are to take apart my entire engine when they made the situation worst on the first attempt? Definitely lost a customer with whoever those mechanics are working because they do not have a clue as to what they are doing. They are going to cost people alot of money and I would definitely never recommend this shop again.

I needed tires on two vehicles and a transmission flush on my pickup. They match tire prices 110% yet they still went much further than that. Both cars are riding nicely after alignments and new rubber. All 3 vehicles arent experiencing any issues and the jobs were done efficiently and quickly. The appointments were kept and wasnt kept waiting. The professional staff is appreciated.

I had an amazing experience at Virginia Tire and Auto, Bristow. Jesus was able to fit me in after my commute home from work so I could have my tire repaired the next morning from work. Definitely recommend!

I was told when I dropped my car off it would cost around $124 to fix the door handle but they werent sure until they opened up the door and took a look. All that made sense. They called back and let me know i needed a new door handle and it would be a few days before it came in. It would cost me $260. I told them i would like to hold off on the door handle because I needed the car the next day. When I picked the car up ( I also did a oil change and alignment) they charged me the $124 still as a diagnostic fee to just take my door panel off and put it back on... 10 mins worth of work. I understand a diagnostic fee and I dont mind paying for good work but when I told Juan that he miscommunicted with me there was no apology or care that he mislead me. He never once said the $124 was just a diagnostic fee that morning. Again I work in a trade and understand a diagnostic fee but it should be very clear up front. The customer service was garbage and I do not reccomend anyone to use this buisness

My favorite car place by far! The inside was so clean with tons of comfy seating and TV, and had a small area for coffee, drinks, and snacks! Everyone here was really nice too - our new go to for car repairs/work!

They do what is asked as best as they can, while having the best hours around.Pros: They are prompt with service, quick with maintenance items and diagnostics, and can do state inspections for emissions and safety.Cons: while cheap, they do not take tires from tire rack or other online regulators, and do not fair well with more complicated car related tasks.Overall, great place for quick and easy issues, not so much for bigger issues.

Ran over a screw on the way to work and took my vehicle in to get a tire patched. This was a very inexpensive fix and VA Tire & Auto let me leave my vehicle there and took me to work. About an hour later they came and picked me up to take me back to the shop to get my vehicle. Outstanding service and will be using them soon to get new tires!

They took too long. Two hours to have my tire patched. And I had an appointment too. Received an estimate for other needed repair, too pricey. Their credit option is good if youre in a tight spot but again parts and labor too high. They recommend the most costly repair too, not what makes sense.

In and out quickly for drive up emissions test

First I had a young lady inform me that they will be able to do a inspection for my cars. I informed her I was in need of 4 new tires she gave me a price after we agreed, I brought my car in. Then they inform me that the inspector just left, I was upset but informed them to continue with my tires. They said sorry about that we will get your car done as son as possible. So I waited. 2 hours later they inform me that they quoted the wrong tires after I told them the model. They gave me a new quote for over a hundred dollar more. This is 2 hours later and they just found this out. Then I realized they try to sneak the warranty on the tires and he acted like “oops!!!”, seriously. Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my day for nothing. I will make sure that no one I know ever comes to a company of crooks.

Friendly service by everyone and they have service to take you back home if you leave vehicle for overnight or would pick you up after car has been serviced 😱 what a great surprise!!I had someone to help me with my ride but it is great to know they do have this service.

Virginia Tire and Auto not only has been exemplary in servicing my wife’s car over the past year, but they also went above and beyond by fitting into their busy schedule a quick repair of my equipment trailer tire that failed on the road. Tire came off the rim, thankfully Jimmy and Blake got it back on quickly getting me back on the road in no time. I highly recommend Virginia Tire & Auto!

5 minutes after I got to my appointment i was told that the machine was broken, come back at 2pm. I planned my schedule for the day so it was kind of an inconvenience but since I needed the work done I rescheduled to 2pm.gut feeling so i called before hand, was told machine is still down. In the meantime my husband is getting a call from them at the same time and they said machine is up and running, to come in. What is going on there? Bad business practices. I canceled all together and went somewhere else.

I would stick with the basics here. Meaning just go with the oil change and tires anything beyond tends to be overpriced. Staff tries and is kind.

Quick and reliable

Although I appreciate that a repair shop cant make much money if they only diagnose the problem, give an estimate, and then have the customer drive off to seek a better deal elsewhere, I do think the owners need to give the local store managers some freedom to waive their Diagnostic fee of $120 when the particular circumstances suggest, or, state upfront that, if the customer chooses to get the work done at VT&A, then that fee will be waived (hint: most repair shops operate this way). I needed a horizontal stabilizer shock in my Jeep TJ - told them so, and they still insisted on charging the entire diagn fee.Until or unless they sort this up-charge problem out, I cannot recommend you take your car there.

I have used VTA several times. I keep going back because the experience is always a good one. On my last visit, I was trying to get a state inspection and an emissions inspection on an old truck that I am trying to breathe life back into. Surprisingly I passed both, BUT it seems that the alternator had quit while being inspected......I was a little dubious at this. I had just changed the alternator and battery a couple of months ago. Garrett came up front and said he had buttoned everything up, and had found that the alternator was fine, it had just come unplugged. I had just changed the spark plugs in a very tight engine compartment and im sure I was responsible for the unplugging. Garrett was awesome, and was very matter of fact and professional through the whole process. If they were out for my money, they could have easily charged me to change an alternator that did not need changing. Another great experience!

I have to say that I am extremely pleased & impressed with the service I received from VA Tire & Auto. I never write reviews, but I just had to rave about my experience at the Bristow location. I am fairly new to the area, and having moved from out of state, I needed to get my emissions & state inspection taken care of- but had no idea what I was doing. The staff at VA Tire & Auto answered all of my questions, and more. They were incredibly accommodating to my needs and treated me with the utmost respect. Every conversation I had with every member of their team left me feeling confident that my car (Flynn) was in good hands. And even though there was a line for the inspection, I didnt even have to wait an hour! Overall, I would recommend VA Tire & Auto, specifically the Bristow location for any of your car needs. I am already planning on getting my tires replaced here- and they will be my first call for any of Flynns needs!

These guys are amazing! My tire pressure gauge came on and within minutes it was completely flat. Luckily I was right nearby VA tire and auto and decided it would be better to try them out than have my husband drive 40 min to escort us to our regular tire place another 2 miles down the road. So glad I decided to stop! Trevor was great and had me back on the road in less than an hour! Fair pricing, clean facilities with nice offering of drinks and excellent customer service!

Incompetence is how i would describe my HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, is a total nightmare. I had to take my car there not once, not twice, 5 TIMES!!! They are a total joke, my car broke down so many times on the road for the same problem I took it in for. They are a total JOKE!! WASTING MY VALUABLE TIME. Plus they are not cheap either, they even tried to charge me for the towing when it was there fault my car broke down. DO NOT take your car here for repairs the only thing they are good for is to change oil thats it.P.S my car kept breaking down every week, Im taking my car to someone who is COMPETENT enough to FIX it THANK YOU FOR WASTING MY TIME and RUIN MY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!

Crooks... I was warned and I went anyway... My 1700 estimate turned out to be a poorly done 1450 bill after examining the invoice line by line... Honest mistake? Im not so sure... The novelty of a car with two master cylinders was lost on me... The one I was quoted 120 more than I had bought it for and the extra one that was 220 more than I bought it for. I had been burned by another location in the past, but gave the newer spot a chance... They didnt even bleed the lines. The courtesy loaner was a nice touch but the upsell and outright fraud in the billing was more than a little off putting... I heard some pretty wild estimates for others while I was there as well... Maybe when i news tires Ill consider it but not likely to return for service.

Failed my car for state inspection for a highbeam that was out and apparent leakage in the power steering rack and brake line. The first thing I did was bought a new high beam, since I can do that myself. Turns out it wasn’t out at all, but it was mysteriously unplugged. Took it to my regular mechanic to have the other repairs done. He said nothing was wrong with it and it shouldn’t have failed in the first place. He didn’t replace anything because he said there was nothing there. I took it to a different spot, it passed with no issues. Don’t go here, they’re shady.

They have always been helpful and courteous, even when I have been edgy and witchy, lol. Just today, I took my car there for an awful noise coming from a wheel. They found the rock that was lodged next to my rotor within 40 minutes. They didnt even charge me! So, even though I dont live near the Briatow shop anymore, I will continue to take my car there

Why can’t you just answer the phone. If I wanted to schedule through the internet I would. When I want to actually talk to someone I use the phone. Must have more work than you can handle so you don’t need mine.

I have never had as good of an experience as I did with this shop! They took my car on time, quick service, never pressured me into fixing or buying something. And when I left there was a water bottle waiting for me. I will come back here for all of our cars! More than impressed with their customer service!

My roommate took her handicap accessible van into Virginia Tire & Auto in Bristow to be inspected. They failed it and quoted $2,000 for the van to be road worthy again. She took it to another shop. She is heavily reliant on her handicap accessible van, low income, and needed it back quickly. They charged her $66 + the $16 for the inspection fee. The repair shop said that some of the things Virginia Tire & Auto listed, ball bearings, were not even damaged or in need of repair. All told it cost us $82 not $2,000. Virginia Tire & Auto is creating false problems to inflate estimates. They are Virginia Inspection flunking vehicles with problems that dont really exist just to make extra money. And on a handicap person!Shame on you Virginia Tire & Auto!!

So I drop my car off to get and inspection and emissions test done at 7am. I dropped it off so I didn’t have to wait. They tell me to pull up to the cone and someone will come move it. I sit there and wait and wait workers walk by and just look at me. I have to go back in and complain. The response is just leave you car by the cone. So takes me 20 minutes to drop off a car. This place is ridicules and over priced.

I didn’t receive a call so at 5:45 (15 minutes before they close), I went back there to check on my car. They finally called me 2 minutes before I arrived and told me my car failed inspection, for license plate lights and brake lights. Understandable, but the problem was they wouldn’t fix them that evening. They were closing in 15 minutes. To top it off, it’s a Saturday and they are closed on Sundays. I was told if I go somewhere else to fix the lights then I have to get a whole new inspection and lay $16 again. They seriously couldn’t fix my lights in the 15 minutes they were still open?! I could understand if it was more than replacing light bulbs but that was seriously it. Also, they didn’t honor my “third in line”, I was their last inspection that night. Absolutely poor customer service. The front desk person even checked to see if the person who did my inspection could quickly fix it but he told me the only person qualified to do those fixes left already. Still 10 minutes before they close. I’ll never return here for awful customer service. To top it off, they are more expensive than other places. My family with 7 cars in total will never return here after that treatment.

Virginia Tires of Northern Virginia are one of the best Auto Repair shops. The Store manager and the service manager of this location are great. They will take care of your automotive needs, stop by and visit them for a great service experience.

The wait can be a little long but the facility is nice and clean. Took an hour for a basic oil change and took 45 minutes for a safety inspection during the middle of the month. The free coffee and drinks definitely help the wait go by.

Thought I’d give this location a try, but apparently this particular VT&A does not install customer supplied parts, meaning you purchase brakes and rotors elsewhere, they won’t install them. The VT&A in Springfield does, but this one does not. For a 2005 Volvo XC90, they wanted $800 in parts alone when OEM higher quality brakes and rotors through R1 Concepts are only $400.

Told me that my tire was punctured from the shoulders and that it was not repairable and tried to convince me to replace all 4 tires (> 1200$). I took the tires somewhere else and found out that the puncture was not on the shoulders and that it was completely repairable. I have been driving on the repaired tire for more than a week without any issues.

Excellent customer service and no wait for vehicle safety. Keep up the great work.

There staff are very nice and they never try to sell extra.

My company has been a business customer at the Bristow location since 2016 with no issue. In the last 2 weeks we have had an incorrect tire placed on a vehicle and today my Chief Mechanical Officer went to drop a truck that has been serviced there before for an oil change and Jose, the manager told us they dont do fleet vehicles and said I have a customer and hung up on me. I immediately tried to call a corporate office to only get a voicemail. They have not only lost our company business but our personal business as well.

Jimmy the Store Manager stepped in and helped resolve a situation concerning our Dodge Grand Caravan. We were happy with the attention he gave to our concerns.

Came to get a car inspection and technicians are not wearing mask. I stayed out watching while they were working on other cars and saw how one of actually cough couple of time while working on a car. Unacceptable.

They are like the Chick-fil-a of auto care providers. I have been to this one and in Centreville and their staff take the effort to be welcoming and kind and make sure your questions are answered and that you are satisfied with everything provided. Went in for an emissions test and they had me out in less than twenty minutes (although the traffic was minimal at that point).

Phenomenal staff and care- I will never go anywhere else! After years of being mistreated with my car maintenance and repairs as a young, single female, I came to VA Tire & Auto’s Bristow location and FINALLY felt respected. Can’t recommend enough!
