Love their coffee! We have been talking the dogs every Monday for military Monday s (10% discount) for a few weeks now. Staff is nice, coffee taste great, and we get to sit at the outdoor seating area with the pups. Inside has a nice lounge area with books. Good spot to hold meetings and little get togethers.
I was looking for a cozy coffee shop to get work done while on a trip to Manassas and I found it here at Jirani Coffeehouse! The baristas are upbeat and friendly, and take the time to explain what’s inside some of their specialty drinks (I recommend the Founders Latte!). The place is spacious, inviting, and has that old town Manassas feel with the exposed brick, French doors, and string light bulbs on the ceiling. There’s plenty of seating options whether you want something a little bit more private to take your work calls (booths in the back) or sit by the fireplace and read a book from their community library. I’ll definitely be coming back here on my future visits!
Really cute place! Nestled behind three Fosters Grill, and just across the tracks from the train station, its not the easiest place to find from the street. But its worth the look! The baristas are very friendly, the place has a very cute, comfortable vibe, and the food is great! I had a blueberry muffin and a hot cocoa, and they were just about perfect. The hot cocoa was not burning your fingers hot, so I was able to enjoy it without waiting for an hour for it to cool. And it was delicious! Highly recommended!
This is a great community establishment. Beautiful little place tucked in old town Manassas that you can get some great coffee and or have a meeting, do a zoom or just plain old relax. I love to go once a month for the poetry open mics. The owners are amazing very loving people and very community oriented.
Excellent coffee houseI stopped in halfway through my bike ride. This was during some type of fest.I was impressed by their coffee, very good.Theyre accompanying pastries were superb as well. The staff looked bogged down and unrushed by a moderate line of people, but still maintained a friendly demeanor. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Nice place to spend a full evening in.
Now that they started serving coffee from local roasters Cervantes Coffee, Jirani is a place I would gladly go to regularly. Previously, I never recommended them, but it is so rare to find a coffee shop with good coffee. Their service is good and prices average. They make a great pour over. Their actual physical space needs improvement and should be better kept, and have a more coherent decor scheme. Maybe hire a decorator? In any case, I will keep coming back and recommending Jirani as long as they stay with Cervantes or some other good coffee supplier.
The coffee was good and service there were super kind. However as an avid networker when I connected to their network there was no security at all. Thankfully I had a VPN for my work but there needs to be a base level of security before I recommend others bringing their personal electronics and connecting to their wifi.
Great, quick service. Absolutely adorable and bigger than expected inside. Got the snickerdoodle latte and it was delicious! Highly recommend!
Ordered 3 Lattes and three identical sausage egg and cheese sandwiches. Lattes took 10 mins. After 20 mins they came out with ONE sandwich. Sorry doesnt give me my time back. Took over 30 minutes to accomplish the order. Get it together.
Lovely place. Good selection. Friendly staff.
This place has a great atmosphere and is pretty large and open compared to the few other coffee places downtown (good for social distancing). Great and friendly staff. definitely the perfect place to grab coffee with a friend, work on homework/work, or relax for a bit. Also, the food/coffee is AMAZING (psst...try the pizza wraps) I haven’t seen any open mics but based on being there I can only assume they are worth going to!! Love these local places - please support them :)
Such a cute coffee house with a unique menu. I got an iced Samoa Cookie Late and it was beyond delicious. The staff was very nice as well.
Great atmosphere combined with the great service and personality of Quin made this a great experience definitely would recommend
Got a caramel macchiato with oat milk! And a LOT of pastries. So so good and will be back way more to try everything! Super nice outdoor patio area
Nice cozy cafe by the train station. Great place to work at for a bit.
Staff is very welcoming and focus on you and your order unlike other shops more concerned about getting you in and out quickly...though I cant blame them too much given the volume. Jirani is set up to ensure proper distancing while still providing areas to relax and have conversation. Beverages are amazing!
Love this place! Reasonably priced coffee, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Good coffee. Almost no seating and no plugins.... So if you want to come here and work, I would look at some place else. But if not, its a solid place.
Ive been here a few times, and ordered the same espresso based drink. Unfortunately, the product is widely inconsistent, ranging from drinkable to tasting like Im sipping on ashes. They have the means to make a better cup, and Im hoping they can dial it in soon. (See update below)The only non-dairy option they have is almond milk, and they charge a ridiculous .75 cents on top of the price for the drink.Environment is why Im giving it any stars at all. Its a beautiful, wide open space great for large groups or work space. The warm, industrial atmosphere is something hard to find in the area. The passion the owners have is apparent in the overall vibe of the place, just not in their coffee.Update 06/12/17: After a few months of not ordering anything from this shop, I decided to give them another chance. I am disappointed to say that 11 months later they still have horrible espresso. I tried to drink the plain almond milk latte I ordered, but had to exchange it for something that I could actually stomach. They were nice enough to exchange it for cold brew, but this should not still be an issue after a year of being in business.
The word that kept coming to mind at Jirani was easy. Theres a lot of coffee shops in this world and a lot of them are very good, but not many are easy.Jiranis is different.First off, its easy to find and get to. Tucked just off the side of railroad tracks its painless to find. Moreover, theres plenty of street lot parking around, so finding a place isnt difficult.Second, ordering is easy. The staff here is great. Theyre kind, helpful, conversational, polite and really help make the shop feel warm and homely.Third, the shop itself is easy. By easy here, I mean that there is plenty of seating. Its way bigger than the pictures make it out to be with enough tables, couches, high-tops and chairs to sit well over 20 groups. Moreover, there are plenty of outlets, quiet music and free wifi, so sitting down a doing a little work is easy. Finally, the coffee is easy......to drink a lot of. Its quite good. I ordered a pour over with Nicaraguan beans. It set me back about $4 and it was well worth every penny. Delicious. All in all, very pleased and will be coming back when Im in the area again.
Pleasant environment, friendly staff and tasty green tea latte.
The barista Steph was amazing! She acknowledged that i was waiting for someone to take my order and since she was the only one working told me that it would be just a moment. Then she made my drink so perfect 😘. I will definitely be coming back 😇.
The worst hours. Always get orders wrong. Haven’t had a good experience yet.
The atmosphere here is a whole vibe! Its an incredibly cute spot located on Main Street, serving great coffee, tasty treats, good music, and lots of smiles!! Its positioned right in front of the train station and next to the Harris Pavilion, making it the perfect spot for a first date or to catch up with friends. The owners are sweet as well, and I fully support this black-owned business!
Great coffee, better service and atmosphere.
Great spot for beverages and food, as well as live performances. The owner, Ken, and his team, are big supporters of local artists, which is much appreciated.
Such a cute cafe! love the black owned business and all the charm :)
Given the pandemic I havent been able to enjoy Jiranis Coffeehouse but I can HIGHLY recommend Sweet Pearlz Cheesecakes. They service slices at the coffeehouse and are absolutely delicious. We used Sweet Pearlz for our wedding cake vendor and they did a fantastic job.
Jirani is a wonderful small coffee shop with delicious coffee and food, plus a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Theyre being very safe with Covid-19 precautions in the recent times as well.
Love the space! Everyone here is super nice and they have great coffee and pastries. Outdoor seating is plentiful and bathrooms are nice and clean.
This is one of the cutest coffee shops Ive ever been to. Its large and roomy, there are plenty of places to sit. The coffee and pastries are delicious. Jirani seems like a great place to study, do homework, visit with friends, or just relax. They host events for the community there too, which I look forward to attending. This place is a gemstone in our little city, and Im very pleased to have found it.
Always a good time. Inspirational, exciting, calming, and unique. You feel like you are home. Also the coffee is on point.
Cool little coffee house right across from the train station in Manassas. I had a capocino, which was delicious, and relaxed in one of the comfy chairs for a while. A good place to hang out on a cool day, drink coffee and watch the trains go by.
Baristas were rude when asked a basic question about seating.I understand that restrictions are strict right now, still the barista should have had a better attitude when the customer was trying to figure out seating arrangements.
Both coffee and cakes were great. Staffs were really nice and friendly! Hope to come back again and again 👍🏻
The perfect coffeehouse vibe. Service has always been incredibly welcoming and friendly. I love visiting this place whenever I am in Manassas either to catch up with friends or to work or read. I love the super delightful side room equipped with bookshelves and an intellectual but lighthearted ambiance, which is unfortunately closed currently due to COVID reasons I assume. I hope they can get the live music going again as well, as that is the finishing touch on a lovely place of respite.
Such a great welcoming environment! Red velvet cake is topppppp tier wow
Great place to reflect and write.. get the creative juices flowing while sipping delicious coffee
Low quality coffee . Good customer service.
Excellent ambiance, seating arrangement was COVID friendly and the drinks we good
My toddler blasted my full sized tea across the table today and the nice ladies at Jirani cleaned it up AND gave me a brand new drink at no extra cost, even though it was all our fault. Thank you, ladies!!!
Good to see Andrew back!! Who was that girl making googly eyes at him?
I stopped by here since it was on my list of recommendations. The cafe is near the train station. Next to other restaurants. Close to the old town attractions. Perfect location if you wanted to explore the town by foot.Upon my arrival the two people behind the counter were very kind and welcoming. I ordered a caramel macchiato with a lemon cupcake. So delicious and freshly made. The cafe itself was so chilled. Different areas of the cafe had its own little scenery. One section was by the fire place with comfortable sofas and coffee tables. Another section was in the far back for more of a private meeting for larger crews and wrapped around sectional. One part had a library and tables and chair for a more quiet time.It was such a good place to come and finish paper work. The music they played was some sort of blue and rhythm but fantastic choice. It was at a fair volume. Everyone there spoke in a low tone so it was perfect no loudness.I will be back here definitely with my friends. One more last thing, check out their calendar as they have special events going on all the time.
Great space..baristas are good..really good red velvet cake and other goodies to have with your coffee drink.
Great London fog and cranberry scone. Very cozy atmosphere. I met some friends at night, not realizing there was a function starting shortly after our meet up, so it was really loud. On another night, it wouldve been perfect for quiet meet ups.
I really hoped that this could be my Northern Virginia coffee destination. I like the environment; plentiful seating with different chairs and sofas, an electric fireplace, and a carpeted reading nook with books to borrow. Theres also a stage in the corner for live performances. I was hopeful that this might be my new coffee spot.I asked about pour-over options, and was told a list of about 8-10 names of different countries with a slight nod over his shoulder directed at some coffee bags by the shelf. There was no further descriptors or follow-up as to what I may be looking for. I chose a country, hoping for flavor that was nurtured by the high altitudes there. I also ordered the bacon cheddar grilled cheese, all together for about $12.After a few minutes, my coffee was ready. Surprisingly it was in a larger cup, 16-20 oz? A quick sniff produced nothing, no discernible notes of anything. It was diluted, flat, and formless. It tasted of a lighter roast gas station coffee that was reheated in a microwave. I was so surprised I chuckled to myself. Then my sandwich came out. My optimism was challenged, seeing a pale, almost soggy looking sandwich. Cheese was dripping from the sides, which isnt a bad thing for a grilled cheese, but it definitely wasnt cheddar, as advertised. Cheap, buttery, oily Gouda was overwhelming, cut with something very sickly sweet. Perhaps something like a BBQ jam? The bacon looked like the pre-cooked bacon available at Costco, thin, pink, lacking any smoke or really cured flavor. The bread was probably grilled on a flat top, but was pulled far too early and didnt toast at all. Between the coffee and sandwich, not sure what was more disappointing.I generally only post negative reviews when an establishment has really earned it, and Im definitely not being overly critical. I actually like the atmosphere, and I imagine for most people just looking for a drip house coffee, this would be a solid option. Im going to go one more time, just to be thorough, and hopefully my experience was an outlier.
VERY unsanitary!! DO NOT EAT here!!! Employees and customers are NOT PROVIDED SOAP for SEVERAL HOURS!!! Health department VIOLATIONS!!! I arrived at the store, placed my order and went to the restroom while my drink was prepared and my scone was warmed. There was no soap in the ladies restroom so I reported this to the woman who took my order. After my book club meeting was over, I returned to the restroom before my trip home and there was still NO SOAP! This was 2.5 HOURS after I had arrived!!! The woman who I had told earlier was waiting outside the restroom when I came out and said she was going to replace it then. However, as I went to the counter and asked for the manager, she came back from the restroom and told another employee she had no idea how to replace the soap. I was also told employees had no idea when the manager would be in. This place was highly recommended by two of my friends but this will be the LAST TIME I ever visit this restaurant.
Starbucks who? A wonderful spot to get a cup of coffee with a calming atmosphere. Easily one of the best chill spots of Manassas. Staff is friendly and the baked goods are to die for.
Its a nice space. Good breakfast sandwich and good iced coffee. I might go with the cold brew next time in hopes of a fuller coffee flavor but nonetheless it was quite good. Kinda hard to find for a first timer. Id go back.
I love this cute little shop. It got something for everyone. Art, books, yummy desserts, handcrafted delicious coffee and live entertainment!
Great spot, good coffee.
Its very tough to pin down. I visited with to acquaintances and we all order a different drink. We all aggreed thought that something was off with each of our individual drink.
Easily one of the top 5 coffee shops to work in NoVA area. Great environment, right by the train station.Could step it up on some of their drinks, but 5 stars for the environment!
Best vanilla latte I’ve ever had!
Baristas are incredibly rude - and give attitude when customers ask questions. Avoid barista with shoulder length dark hair. She was unpleasant.
Great place to visit and stay awhile. Nice patrons, art, library, etc. Its more than a coffee house. Good place to check out and truly enjoy.
Pretty horrible customer service. I waited at the register to order, along with two other women, and the girl behind the counter just stared at us and continued making drinks. If you’re backed up, at least acknowledge the people waiting for you. When another employee came out from the back, he just started restocking cups - of which there were already enough - rather than take orders or even greet the people waiting. Ended up leaving and going down the street to another coffee shop.
Theres a fireplace, brick walls, a separate quiet reading space available for reservation for large groups, booths for large groups, and of course good coffee. My only note against this spot is that it tends to get noisy because of the music which is played on the louder side. Parking can be tricky too, but you do get 4 hours in the public parking area.
Nice location, chill atmosphere. Also has tons of space! You dont usually say that about coffee houses. The staff were super helpful, even when our order didnt turn out as we expected, they went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our food/drinks. Will definitely visit again and again!
Employees have nasty attitude and the food and drinks are not consistent!!!!!! Please hire people with nice attitude and maybe you will get more customers in!!!!
Atmosphere is chill. Nice place to sit back and relax. They host some special events and allow the public school orchestra program to perform. The only reason Im not going 5 stars is due to a negative interaction with a willfully obtuse staff (asked for an iced coffee, they acted like cold brew was all they could do - took WAY too long to convince them they can put ice in coffee - suspect they were annoyed I called them away from their phone to buy a drink). Thats only once in about half a dozen visits, so its hopefully just a one off. The drinks are good.
Lovely cheesecake and assortment of coffee. Relaxing vibe with great artistic touches. Fun and welcoming environment; fantastic events.
Jirani is always a lovely place to meet colleagues or friends. With plenty of tables and more secluded larger working *U* booths its my preferred place to have a business meeting. The coffee is great too!
Quiet, cute and cozy this is one my favorite book stores! If you are into warfare history this place is the jackpot! Grab a coffee, find a chair and spend a rainy afternoon here losing yourself in a good book!
Had a hot cocoa made w half and half; the highly rec cheesecake is not from scratch; too sweet; runny; and tasted overly processed; Cheesecake should be sour with some sweetness it should have a firm texture and not hit you over the head with too much sugar it drowns out the subtle flavors of a creamy cheese cake; yuck! Cocoa was good —
This is one of my favorite places to get away from any distractions relax and study. They provide plenty of space, whether your going by yourself or with a large group theyre very accommodating. They provide plenty of outlets for any devices you might bring, and free wifi for those devices. To top it all off the coffee food and staff are all amazing. Any one looking for a nice scenic location to get work done study or just relax this is the spot.
I cant even explain the good vibes this coffee shop has. To study, to ready, to have a nice talk, for a date! This is the ideal place to be in your own space among a very relaxed playlist. The coffee might be a little bit over prized but its worth it. I can easy spend up to 4 hours here. Love it
Great service, great entertainment, and the staff was awesome. The coffee was great, I will recommend if you havent been to go. You will have a great time
One of the best coffee shops. Great coffee and food. You must try their hot chocolate and coffee cake. The atmosphere is great. Definitely a good place to work or study with great views.
Thoroughly enjoy a good cup of coffee & Jirani didnt disappoint. From time to time you they host events as well. But sticking to the coffee shop exclusively, Im not disappointed. Help yourself to some cheesecake too! Its the best Ive had... EVER!
I do not drink coffee so I can’t speak for the coffee experience, but the atmosphere here is great! There is so much space, so there is almost always a spot open. The variety of seating options is awesome! Sometimes I just need a comfy chair and sometimes I need a place to set up my iPad and work, they have both! Like I said, I don’t drink coffee, but the hot chocolate and Arnold Palmer are both fabulous!
Jirani Coffeehouse is a great place to go for a cup. Nice relaxed atmosphere plus areas set aside for mobile workers, team meetings, etc. A nice library is also available. They also host poetry slams, live music, fashion shows, and improv groups on weekends. I HIGHLY recommend visiting the next time you are in old Town Manassas, VA.
Coffee is great! Good for a quick sip or a sit down chat, or event a meeting! Loved the booths in back and the mini library, hope to be at more events in the future here!
If youre looking for really nice espresso, you may or may not get it here. Other sweet drinks are fine. IMO the drinks are ok, the staff are pretty nice each time, and the location is great, set by the train tracks, which is pretty fun.
The Jirani Coffeehouse is like a quaint library that youd see in a movie. The setup is beyond nice. I dont currently have any pictures but will update my review later with some. Its a friendly place that could support a team meeting, a book review or the somberness of quiet place away from the noise of anxiousness that we have in todays world. The staff is nice and very attentive. While I am not a coffee drinker the danishes are sweet and delicious!
Fantastic coffeehouse with superb service!
This place is much better than Starbucks. I definitely recommend the drink The Train Freeze. It has a very nice atmosphere. There are a couple rooms that you can just sit down in a private area and study. All the employees are awesome. If you go on a Thursday night they have live music and an art gallery. I will be returning.
Best Aesthetic, Venue-Oriented, Study-Friendly, Coffee Shop. Extraordinarily Pleasant Business Owner and Staff. Great Location and Surroundings. p.s. I have zero affiliation with the establishment.
Great place to relax with wonderful coffee and teas. The cookies are very delicious as well. Havent tried the other food yet and plan on it soon.
Great coffee and friendly staff. Atmosphere is perfect for an impromptu meeting, getting deep into a book or just playing a board game among friends. I like the fact that theres a separate quiet area in the back for times of focus and reflection.
Great coffee shop set up. Stage for live performances, defined reading room with books and more tables, and shared work spaces in the back for quiet work. Love the vibe... Cozy wood beams, stained concrete floors, gas fireplace in the winter...Super location. Phenomenal espresso drinks. Chai tea latte is the best around these parts.
This is my absolute favorite coffeehouse. Its cozy and inviting and they host a ton of amazing community events. Ive always had pleasant interactions with the staff as well. Just love everything about it.
Great for working or meeting. Excellent coffee and tea choices. What a great place for the community. They try to offer a varied calendar.
