I have visited with them one too many times (typically for body work / painting) … but my experiences consistently reveal: easy to work with, good customer service style / approach, very communicative throughout, works well with my auto insurance company to make it seamless for me, and have always been pleased with the results. I have used Schaefer for years and always been happy with their service and quality. This time they went above and beyond. My service advisor Ian kept me informed by phone and text of the progress and timeline of the repairs. Repairs were completed ahead of schedule even after they found more damage than originally anticipated. All-in-all a very top-notch and stress-free experience.

Schaefer Auto Body was amazing to use! Super close and convenient to my work. Dropped it off before heading to the lake and got it back even better than I expected and or when I dropped it off. Tyler was my point of contact and he made sure that I was kept up to date every step of the way, wether it was text or call or email. Larry and Tanner went above and beyond to even deliver my truck back to me at my work while Tyler was gone for a vacation. I have used Schaefer before & have always been pleased with their work. The work is completed professionally with no issues. Their estimate is fair, competitive and they don’t come back with additional charges that are not fully explained and are necessary. If I ever need collision work in the future (hopefully not) l will not hesitate to use them again.

When I asked the dealership where they would recommend I take my Mini for windshield and paint damage “Go to Schaefer on Jaguar and speak to Tyler, he’ll take care of you.” was the immediate response. Everything was handled with Geico and Clear Auto Bra plus I got my car back sooner than I had expected. Outstanding

Brought my bimmer in for a drivetrain malfunction(May 18th 6:48pm), given I hit a coyote and other parts were damaged but nothing seriously was damaged, no leaks, no other malfunction; Expect for a broke bumper, a nasty dent in my inner cooler, front bar damage, and a messed up alignment, paying out of pocket because this isn’t the 1st this happened.. I stated and express to the max that I only wanted my drivetrain fix nothing more on the phone (apparently no one heard that part), so I could drive my vehicle back to my home-state to be fix by a family mechanic, every other part could of been salvaged from another BMW that was left to die in a junk yard but I let them fix it anyways under their policy which was fine, meanwhile a month later it was finally “finished” parts finally came in, due to find out after picking up my vehicle, the damaged part were replace with OEM parts, bummer given back to me with the little parts that were still attached as requested, but leaving the shop (June 28th 4:56pm) maybe 6 miles after getting on to the freeway.. boom! drivetrain malfunction pops up vehicle goes back into limp mode.. as I wait for a tow truck on the highway to take my vehicle back to my condo, I noticed my prescription drugs were gone from my middle console, my glove box raided papers everywhere.. I don’t wanna play the blame game but I leave my medication in the car so I’m able to take it when needed.. sounds stupid but when your job requires you to drive state to state at all hours of the day; 6 days a week.. it is what it is.. I’m not mad just disappointed.. I don’t know if had anything to do with me have different state tags that makes people wanna do this, thinking I won’t be back because my tags are 1,200miles away but I’m a resident of both states I’m always here… I work here….(-$3,980)🤦🏼‍♀️

Tyler kept me informed and I knew exactly what was happening and when parts were coming. He is a wonderful employee for them. He resonates a professional and caring attitude. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

I have been to Schaefer body in Maplewood twice for repairs of my car and both times there have been significant problems with the repairs. I’ll admit they know how to make the car look good, but beyond that I’m still dealing with problems two years later. After getting into an accident and needing repairs to the frame/suspension/wheels, there was a squeaking sound from the rear wheel that began after the repair. After taking the car back to Schaefer literally 4 times for one problem, they told me it was fixed each time despite that not being the case. I eventually gave up because they were charging money for each “repair” and accepted the squeaking. It had worsened over the last 2 years and I finally took it to a Honda dealership who informed me the tire hub was bent and would be $500 to fix, something that should have been fixed at the original repair.The second time I made the mistake of taking my car here for repairing a dent in the door, the repair team forgot to hook up the electronics to the door and the window and lock system wouldn’t work. I had to plug the electronics back in myself to fix this.Schaefer is good at cosmetics, but beyond that, take your car to another place if there is any real damage.

The Maplewood location is top notch. My car was an odd repair, so they had to work on it much longer than expected, but I was regularly contacted with updates on how it was progressing and can’t thank Tyler enough for his persistence in finding solutions. Great body shop!

Always a consistent experience- great crew and professional job from start to finish.

Everyone was perfect.. my car window was smashed and the team fixed it within 3 days when it could have taken way longer with parts etcc.. they cleaned the inside of my car especially well, and even replaced the car mats with new ones. 10/10 recommended

Schaefer had to replace my tailgate, back bumper and tailpipe. They also had some repair work underneath all that. The work done looks great and the people I worked with were very pleasant and professional! They made the whole process extremely easy! I appreciated the updates they texted me along the way so I always knew what was happening.

Took my car to this shop because they were partners with USAA so it made it incredibly easy to deal with payment for my accident claim. Took about a week and a half to finish up my car, and the car looks brand new after their work. I would choose them again for future repairs.

Best auto shop I have ever dealt with. Wrecked car from out of state and had to go home in a rental. Tyler, the service writer, let me know everything they were doing to my car every step of the way and even took time from his weekend to allow me to come and get it. Hands down the most transparent auto shop I have ever worked with and I hope to use them again if I am in the area! They are extremely well put together people.

Schaefer made taking my wrecked vehicle in for repairs a breeze. They set up my car rental and made dealing with the other persons insurance so simple. All repairs were done in a timely manner within the price ranges in the original estimates. The quality of work is exceptional in my opinion. One could not ask for a better experience.

I don’t think that they perform the job to the best of their abilities. As an Autobody shop I would assumed that if you are working on my car and you see that there is other work that can be done to it you would gather up that information and present it to me in order to continue to get my business. And if there is an light on in my car for air pressure how about going the extra mile to put air in my tire, because you have to drive my car in order to do the work that is needed. I feel as if they customer service can greatly improve, as well as their efforts to get repeat customers.

I got my Mini repaired there. Great service and quality. I was lucky and my car was ready even earlier than originally estimated time. Staff is really cool. I worked with Matt - so professional guy! What also cool, the connections between different companies (insurance, car rental) are well established, so I didnt have any extra headache working with all parties at the same time. So, I had really good experience with this particular center.
