If I could give the Maplewood location less than one star, I would. It was a HORRIBLE experience. Took 4 hours to be seen and I had an appointment! Saw everyone else around me get helped. Their excuse was we are short staffed and gave 3 people lunch breaks at the same time. Once I finally did receive help, the sales person called Toyota (after an hour wait on the phone with them) and failed to get the information he needed to process the transaction. The manager kept brushing him off when he had been asking him for help. They tried to cover that piece up when I asked why it was taking so long. By the time the salesperson called for the second time, Toyota was closed for the day - and asked me if I could come back. I said no as I had already been there 4+ hours and demanded to speak to a manager who listened to my feedback but also cut me off at times and blamed their systems for me not being seen for so long, which was a complete excuse when everyone else around me had been seen. He also said the person helping me was newer and would give that feedback to the employee but that seems like a major training miss to me. I honestly don’t know how this place makes it through a day. Was so beyond disappointed with my experience here.

I purchased a 2020 Honda Accord LX from carmax. I worked with Patrick and he was a fun salesman to work. You dont here of that to much, I told him I wanted to change cars due to the original one I went in for not meeting my wants. He happily made the change, if you need a car go find Patrick. It was nice he took the time to explain almost every piece of paper.Will 10/10 recommend buying from Maplewood Carmax.

I went to CarMax not knowing what to expect. We worked with a wonderful man, John Schauer, who was top notch. I am disabled and was experiencing a lot of pain and he went the extra mile to get us off and on our way home. After we got home we decided the car was not going to meet our needs. We called John and told him we needed a different vehicle he went to work to find us a better fit. After we found the car CarMax brought it in for us and we exchanged our car. John was so nice and had our paperwork ready to complete and get us on our way. I would recommend CarMax to anyone.

They went through the options for vehicles that CarMax sold, and though they couldnt find the exact right car, they still bought my car at more than I thought I would get for it. I had a check in hand in a surprisingly short amount of time and was able to find the perfect car with a nice down payment thanks to CarMax.

Hours of waiting just to sell my car to them, early for all appointments while employees were sitting around doing nothing, got lied to, then wasted hours of my day from their lies and miss-communication. It resulted in me having to drive back and fourth accumulating about 8 hours alone of driving from their lack of brain cells. Should’ve taken 2 hours MAX.

We brought our car in for an appraisal out of curiosity because we wanted a bigger car. We had no expectations of being approved and just wanted information. The process went so fast and smooth that before we knew it, we were driving a new car off the lot! We found the perfect vehicle and Nate was like a long lost friend of ours! Had my first experience with CarMax Maplewood yesterday! Natalie was incredible at answering all of my questions and providing a comfortable car shopping experience. She’s clearly experienced in the inventory, finance, and warranty options and is dedicated to a great customer experience.My only feedback is regarding the appointment process; I arrived 10min early for my appointment but still had to wait another 40min (50 min total) to be seen, but after I was in Natalie’s hands all was golden. Would recommend.

Stop...don’t go here to CarMax I spoke with someone in the business office of sales. Told me one thing then said another then said don’t take my word for it...said a lot of jargon as well. Not only that he basically said that for the purchase of my vehicle that I was S.O.L essentially. Nothing he could do; that basically the customer is wrong in this situation. When a former employee there sold me the vehicle and is no longer working there. That employee was a manager who misguided me saying that I would be able to refinance my car after a year of paying it on time. Tried several banks to refinance and they told me I can’t because of the value is not close enough to what I owe. I took a look more in detail of the disclosures I signed that were not read of to me. Turns out a lot of unethical things happened. I was deceived and I believe fraud took place on their part. Yes I was charged to the max for the car...the business practices here of not having to provide proof of employment are beyond me, and not letting me get gap insurance to ensure the vehicle loan does get taken care of..

We really wanted to be able to give a 5 star review to the Maplewood, Minnesota CarMax. Unfortunately, we are forced to give them 1 star.We purchased a Ford Explorer there almost 3 months ago. We had it shipped in from another state. Everything went well on the night of the sale, except that they said there were computer issues and they were not able to email us the scanned copy of all the paperwork we signed. They promised we would get it the next day. It is now nearly 3 months later, and even though we have called 4 times to ask for the scanned copies, and they have told us each time they would send them, we still havent received them. That is only one of two problems weve had however.On the day of the sale, we found that there were some tears in the tires that would be covered under their 90 day warranty. All 4 tires would be replaced, at their cost. They said that they could order them or we could get them elsewhere and they would pay us back. They would pay us the difference between the tires they would pick vs what we would pick. The plan was for us to research tires and get back to them on what wed like to do.We received a call a few days later that they had the tires ready for us, even though we hadnt told them what type we wanted. We explained this on the phone. They said we would only get credit for the make and model that they would use to replace the original, better tires. That credit was $330. Thats a very low amount for tires that cost $800-$1000 to replace for any reasonable quality make and model of tire.We took some time to drive the car and keep a list of additional items that are covered under the 90 day warranty. A little over a week ago, we completed that list, and called them on a Friday to schedule the appointment. We werent able to talk to the parts department about the tires. They called us back the following Monday.We talked to the parts department about the tires and told them the make and model we wanted. They said that they werent able to purchase those tires. They explained that we could get them replaced somewhere else and then bring them the receipt and they would send us the check for $330. This was the 3rd time we were told that we would receive reimbursement in that amount if we bought tires elsewhere.However, later that day, they left a voicemail message stating that things had changed and now we could only have the tires replaced by them. We called and spoke to them and they said that we could only get the tires through them and could only get the tires that they could order. We couldnt get the tires we wanted elsewhere and still be reimbursed. There was one allowance. They said they would pay for the labor charge if we had the tires replaced somewhere else. That doesnt really help much when most places practically give away the labor charge when you buy tires from them.We arent going to put the cheapest tires on the market on our vehicle that our children will also be driving. It is a safety concern. So we are forced to pay for 4 brand new tires, at a cost of $965 (for the ones we want), and will receive no reimbursement.We still have a service appointment to fix the other items that are covered under the 90 day warranty. Time will tell if the warranty is honored for those items or if they play games like they did with the tires.Whereas their 90 day warranty seems like a very good reason to pay top dollar for vehicles from CarMax, it isnt as good of a deal when they pull the rug out from under you and go back on their word. Your only recourse when things go badly is to post on every review site you can find, like I am doing now, to warn others about their tactics.Buyer beware.

The only GOOD thing this place is the sales rep Martin - he was very accommodating, nice and respectful. The stars do not reflect the help we got from him which would have been a 5/5 stars. The 1/5 stars reflect everything else. Our initial first experience was not good. First of all, when you call the call center and if you can get through, those people are located out of state, so they have no knowledge about the hours of this dealership. We were told what to expect on the phone during that call, and told something entirely different when we arrived. When we went back to trade in our car two days later, we were told it would take 20 minutes - it took 1 hour. There were other things we were told initially on the first visit that werent true on the second visit. Furthermore, there is no local contact information on the website and no chat option which meant we had to either set up an appointment online without any way to ask questions, or wait on the phone for over 30 minutes for someone out of state to answer the call. We tried to get ahold of store management through another sales rep, but that didnt work, the reason we are resorting to writing this review. It seems like someone responds to negative reviews only. Too bad this is the only way to get Carmaxs attention. We wont return.

The staff was very professional and friendly and kept me updated with all steps during the process of selling my vehicle to CarMax.They honored the pre-visit appraisal I received online with no dickering or negotiating. The facilities were spotless and the staff was so efficient that they were ready to purchase the vehicle before I was.....I went there Thursday evening without cleaning out my car as I expected the process to be drawn out. What a surprise! I came back Friday evening and closed the deal in under 1 hour....and only because I didnt schedule an appointment the night before. Its been a long time since an organization has impressed me this much. Keep up the good work! Bought a 2017 Jeep Compass from here and returned it. Whoever inspected it did not put the cap back on the oil and it spilled all over my engine (I’m a girl, and even I know that this is a rookie mistake!) I stalled out multiple times, 2 of the times being on the highway. Luckily I had a friend check and notice that the cap was off soon enough, because this car most definitely would have overheated and potentially caught on fire if I continued to drive it. They tried to make it not seem like a big deal, replaced 3 little parts on the car and showed little remorse for the situation. It was so bad, that whole engine should be replaced! They said they did everything they can for me, but all I got was a loaner car for a few days and the Jeep I had ( that THEY MESSED UP) “fixed” for free. It was very apparent to me that they just didn’t care. And on top of that, the gentleman that sold it to me texted me off my own personal cellphone number at an inappropriate hour about my “car” and then proceeded to say “sorry I swear I’m not a creep I just really enjoyed working with you. I’ll stop bugging you now.” So unprofessional, I don’t recommend this place to anyone. If you do decide to come here for whatever reason, and are looking at the gray 2017 Jeep Compass, do not buy it! It is not a safe car and I hope they’re smart enough to not put anyone else’s life at danger. Went to a different dealership after returning and they were appalled by this story. Wish I went somewhere else to begin with.

We had a great experience when dealing with Carmax and our vehicles, selling one to purchase another. We did the virtual sell option to see what kind of offer we would get, we were honest with our assessment and uploaded photos of what they wanted to see. We got a fair quote online, we took the vehicle in for the onsite inspection the next day and the original quote was honored. After that it was just a matter of finding the vehicle we wanted and finishing paperwork. During the test drive the window wouldnt go up on the new to us vehicle and they got that fixed right away. Overall great expereince, would recommend to anybody looking to purchase a new to you vehicle.

Extremely disappointed with the customer service. Called 3 times to get an ETA on the license plates for my new car. Each time I was told “I’ll look into it and get back to you” NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK! Did not speak to the same person twice. Felt like getting dropped into a well and having multiple people tell me they would go get a rope....no one did! Thankfully paid cash for the car so won’t have to deal with them after I get my plates.(if I ever do)

A week and a half ago I reserved a SUV for a test drive. Reserved it on Friday evening, went in at 2pm on Saturday like scheduled. I was pre-approved and had all the financing ready to go. Showed up and they had sold the vehicle already. I even called at noon (2 hours before my appointment) and they said everything looked good and the vehicle was ready to test drive. They had no explanation for their mess up. Quote I dont know what to tell you, I wish I had an explanation.They tried to get me to look at other vehicles that were similar but we walked out. Very disappointed at the time. I did, however, have a very nice purchasing experience with Forest Lake Chevrolet the same day. I got the GMC Terrain I was looking for.

I got my new car here and it was a good experience. The only issue I had was, the car I originally liked and wanted to test drive was in a non-working condition, such as the car had issues starting up. I wasnt told about this situation until the day of my appointment. So I went in with an open mind to view other cars. In the end I got a car that is in the category of what Ive always wanted. I personally havent had any issues with them since, however the only one issue I had was having crack that already exists without even being told.

Overall, I got the instant offer selling price for me vehicle, which was nice. The process was a little frustrating, since I had to wait about 45 minutes after my appointment time. There were walk-ins that waited the same amount as I did. Also, the rep that I was working with was unable to get ahold of my bank, so he told me I had to come back another day during the week to finish our transaction. I took off early from work on a Friday in order to do this, so the news was frustrating to say the least. When I left, I simply called customer service and got someone on the call in just a couple minutes. I then had to juggle the call with a different rep to get the information they needed. Id use Carmax again - I really liked the instant offer program and how the offer was very much accurate, however customer service/experience can be improved.

I went with my brother to this place to check two vehicles for me and my brother had one he liked to check. We booked separate appointments and requested to test drive three vehicles. After completing the test drive with first vehicle each. When I requested for my second test drive vehicle, different guy came to explain that the person working with us is busy with another customer. When we requested to check if some one else can bring the vehicle from the lot since it was already prepped when we want our first test drive.The 2nd sales guy was saying some bs why no one can be bothered to bring the vehicle from the lot and laughing. Im not sure whats so funny. Just find another decent showroom.

I went in to sell my 2006 Trailblazer SS with the 3SS premium package. The rep had no clue that an SS is an entirely different machine than a standard Trailblazer due to the LS2 Corvette engine, 4.10 gears, AWD, factory airbag suspension, etc. He also struggled to find it in the system. I completely understand it is impossible for a sales rep to know the details of every vehicle, but they should be provided with the proper resources to accurately appraise the vehicle. He smugly offered $5,000 saying it was an exceptional offer. Rosedale Chevrolet and Bedrock Motors both immediately offered me $8,000 that same day.
