I had a wonderful experience with General Moving Carriers. I was so nervous about using a moving service after reading all of the terrifying reviews online and on BBB. They were professional from start to finish. Please expect some of your items to be slightly damaged in the process. Its just part of moving across country. Matt helped me through the claims process which was very easy. Only a few knicks and dents here and there. Buy the heavy duty boxes from Loews and Home Depot for fragile items. I didnt have any issues with them over charging me for anything. They even sent me a check in the mail for a charge that was made at the end of my transaction for a shuttle service that wasnt needed. Save yourself the headache and go with this company. The movers and the office staff are both extremely professional. I will be referring them to my family and friends.

Just wanted to express what a PHENOMENAL move we had with this company. Ronni and the other guys were absolutely amazing. The best movers in the business. I used them for a local move and the whole process was extremely smooth. Moving in NYC is always a pain because of building requirements, but they coordinated everything with my building, were on time and handled all the large furniture with such care. Highly recommend!

We used General Moving Carriers for a long distance move from NJ to South Florida. Moving out of state takes a lot of coordination and work and General Moving made it as smooth of a process as it could be. Rodrigo was great and Matt as well. We were very appreciative of their professional service and the way they handled the whole move from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this moving company.

The movers themselves were excellent. Very professional and courteous. They even helped us pack up some odds and ends we missed on the inventory sheet. They were contracted from United National Movers.The office staff was overall okay, but they do not do issue resolution well. You are on your own to figure out a solution. Future moves I would coordinate directly with the contracted movers (United National).

Jake and all of his workers are all great guys and females too. I have no problem at all. He is very laid back and a hard worker too.

They were truly professional and very responsive. They were quick to remove the items that were boxed and carefully wrapped furnishings. We were moving items to storage until we find another home. I would definitely use them again.

We were very disappointed with the quality of service. The movers were very polite, but we had a significant amount of property damage and found the office staff very challenging to work with following the move to resolve the claim.

General Moving Carriers provided a great experience from start to finish. Their scheduling people were very helpful and polite, and they were able to schedule our move very quickly. They sent a team of three highly professional, skillful, polite, and careful people to wrap up our piano and move it out of our house and to our church. They arrived exactly on time and were very efficient. They were attentive to every detail and really protected the piano and our hardwood floors. Their prices were a higher than some other moving companies, but they specialize in piano moving and you can really tell by the way they handle the instrument during the moving process. Its definitely worth the peace of mind to know that they will move your piano safely and without damaging the instrument or your home. I would highly recommend their services!

We used General Moving Carriers to pack and store contents of our 20+ year lives in South Orange, NJ and then move them to NYC. From the initial contact with Guy Kaufman who wrote up the job to both the loading and unloading crews were incredibly helpful, pleasant to work with, and efficient. I hope we never have to move again but if we did wed hire them again without hesitation. Could not more highly recommend them.

Finding movers is overwhelming. With so many movers and online ratings it is hard to decide whom to select.However I was happy with my selection. Mr. Guy from general movers came to my place and gave me a binding estimate. I had lot of questions he promptly replied to all my emails.The movers were all professional and hard working. The arrived on time, finish move before time. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

They moved me twice and my parents once and all three crews were EXCEPTIONAL. They all worked extremely hard, and carefully. In three moves NOTHING was broken. I would not use anyone else. I am moving again soon so they’ll be getting another call.

Honestly,I could write several paragraphs about how much I enjoyed these movers and the job they did. From the office staff, to the person that came for the estimate, to the staff that actually packed and moved the house.But Ill give two examples of how courteous and professional they are and end with saying that I will be using this company again.1) When they unloaded my stuff into my new garage they A) took the time to sort out, as best they could, what could go in the garage and what should go to the apartment. And they set up the garage so that there was actually a way to walk around and see what was in the boxes. B) When the staff were unloading and brought up two dressers for my girls room, they left a space between the two dressers so the outlet could be easily seen and reached.Like I said. I would use them again without any hesitation.

The move was wonderful from beginning to end. I absolutely hate moving, but this was the most painless move Ive had. On my last move, I didnt hire the best movers and they were shady. This time, the movers were nothing short of professional. When you meet with the movers for your initial quote, they will give you a worst case scenario estimate that they will not exceed, which is nice to know that there wont be any surprise fees. My quote was for a 10 hour move from a first floor 2 bedroom to a second floor 3 bedroom. I didnt think we would truly need 10 hours for the move and was worried that the crew would take their time since they knew they had such a long amount of time to complete the move in. I shouldnt have worried! The crew of 3 was on time, professional, and hustled and got the move done in 5 hours. I was thrilled when I only paid half of the estimated cost!They did make 2 small nicks in paint on the wall and chip one item despite wrapping it in blankets, but overall I have to say Im extremely impressed. I would hire them again in a heart beat.

These movers did an excellent job with all the packing. They work great with care with all our possessions and everything was well perfected. Ronnie, our job foreman, understood what we needed and took great care in marking everything properly. All workers were careful and efficient.

I had a 2 bedroom apartment (985sqft) moved by this company. They came in and wrapped/packed everything. All I had to do when they were done was just clean the floors. They quickly moved me in to my new place and actually helped unpack several boxes. They put all big items where I asked them to. My move was under estimated by over $300 but the company proudly honored their estimate (which I did not expect). My opinion; great company and I plan to go with them again for my next move. They were also the cheapest out of the 3 estimates I had and they came across as the most professional.

Pete and his team worked incredibly hard and helped us complete the work that we needed to do in support of the move! WE didn’t realize how much “stuff” we had and every step of the way, Pete encouraged me saying “No problem!” Each man was beyond courteous and went out of their way to help us! I highly recommend!PS My move was from New Jersey to Colorado.

We read the great reviews about them, and after extensive comparison with other movers, we selected General. These guys were absolutely fantastic. Boy did they work incredibly hard! Ive never seen any people work so hard for so long! And yet they took so much care with everything. I could not imagine or hope for the service that we got from them. it was a large move and it only took 8 hours. I expected at least 12 hours. When it was time to pay, I insisted to pay them more than they asked. Not because Im rich or nice, but because they easily deserved it. I highly, absolutely recommend them!

Let me start by saying that I have used this company 4 times. The first time it was exceptional. Fast, professional, exactly charged as quoted. The second time was almost as good. The third time (about 5-6 years post the second experience), it went south, way south. I was quoted one price and the team that came in to move me did everything that they could to raise my bill, including taking my bed linens off my bed and MAKING a crate for them, at the cost of $45. For $45 I would have bought new ones! By the time they were done with all of these frivolous add-ons, my bill was twice was it was supposed to be. I was moving into their storage until closing on my new house. I was told I would get the first month free, they charged me for it during the second month. When my items were finally delivered, only the most expensive things were damaged... I have a specific item that I pointed out to the team was scratched, severely. They wrote it down and said to submit a claim. At then end of the move, I was doing a once around and passed the same scratched table. Someone had taken a red marker and colored in the scratch. Amazing how anyone could be so bold when we were all aware it had been damaged. Now three months later, still waiting on the claim payment. When you call to initially schedule your move, you are quoted worst case scenario. My move into my new home was quoted at 4 hours, 4 men (of which I was initially told I would only be charged for 3... another lie). They were done within 2.5 hours. Do you think my worst case scenario price changed? Nope, charged for the worst case scenario. If you have the option, find a more professional company, as this is not it. There customer service is awful and management is rude. This last move cost me over $5,000! Not to mention another $1,000 in repairs. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is on the merit of the first experience, over 10 years ago.

Was it simply a bad crew for me? They could hardly carry my furniture up the stairs. They intentionally didnt pack my glass well because I didnt go for the extra insurance, so they intentionally sabotaged it. We will see what a judge says, I totally intend on pursuing a lawsuit once the dust settles from the move. The kicker is I gave a tip to each man before I realized all my glass was broken. Never again!
