I went to Chocolay Ace and purchased an item to fix somehing. It didnt work so I brought it back all jumbled up in a bag. I had no problems returning the item. They were very pleasant to deal with. I appreciated that.

Store has a mask rule in place. I would rather they left it up to the individual but it is their right as a business to require masks. It is also my right as an individual to decide not to spend my money there anymore. I gave them 3 stars because it use to be my go to store but not anymore.

I stopped into Ace today to buy some copper wire. I made my selection, went to the register, and was charged at least 2$ more on each product. I notified my cashier that the prices seemed incorrect and that I was going to go check. Indeed, prices were marked lower on the shelf. The cashier, Doug, then rudely asked what I wanted him to do about it. I asked him to honor the displayed price, and he then suggested he just refund my entire purchase so I can take my business elsewhere. (I have been looking for this wire other places, and was unable to find it) I informed him that I would just like him to honor the listed prices. Since I paid with a debit card, he said it was just easier to change the prices and began the correction.While he made the corrections, he complained that I was ripping the store off, and that he shouldnt have to change the price for me because they are short staffed and havent gotten their price changes done. He brought up another employee and told him to go change the prices on these products right now, because she is ripping the store off.When he completed the correction, he tossed my bag to the front of the counter, and said Thanks, have a nice day, Dont come back.Two stars, because I am glad they had the products I needed, but that kind customer service sucks. Im sorry your store is currently understaffed, but representatives should not treat customers like that under any circumstances. Next time Ill just order from Amazon instead of supporting my independently owned local Ace hardware.

Been coming here for 15 years and always have decent service. Dropped by today to get an automotive key cut, something I’ve had them do before but Steve informed me that you have to buy the key from them in order to have them cut it, I have brought keys to them many times over the years and never had this issue. On top of that he was pretty rude about it. Place is going downhill service wise and has been for a couple years. This isn’t my first issue but is the first time it was bad enough to warrant a review

I love Ace Hardware. They always have what I need (and things I didnt know I needed!) and I enjoy that they have a greenhouse on-site. Convenient location and great selection!

Great selection and customer service, was the only place that I could easily get packing tape quickly during the initial pandemic shut down. They offer a huge variety of things and are run by local residents! Great place!

I used to shop at this store even though everything is 2 to 3 dollars more, I shopped for convenience and to shop and help the community. I had purchased some floetrol for art painting, 3 gallons and the first one was fine, opened the 2nd one and it stunk so bad, I opened the 3rd gal it also stunk terrible. So I brought the 2 back to exchange them for good stuff, well they gave me the 3rd degree because I didnt have a receipt, well I would never have thought that I would need to return floetrol and I didnt want to return it, I wanted to exchange it for some that would work for painting. They wouldnt stand behind there sale basically I am out 30 dollars they are on my list to never shop there again. I paid 2 dollars more per gallon to get a big f u from them. Never again.

Prices are way too high but if you need something in a pinch and dont want to run to menards come here because they have a little bit of everything.

Always helpful staff, lots of stuff. They enforce masking. It is one of two shops in the Marquette area that does that Ive found.You are going to find what you need faster and get help faster here than in Lowes or Menards.

Good, well stocked hardware. Folks will help with assorted options when one must get creative to get the job done. Nice to be able to buy a few screws, nuts or bolts etc without having to buy a box.

These guys are THE BEST. While on vacation here in Marquette we lost the keys to our bike lock while the bike was locked to an outdoor rack. I called the store and the person who I spoke to helped me come up with a plan A - renting bolt cutters from ACE. When the bike lock proved too strong for the bolt cutters, I called back and the phenomenal staff came up with a plan B - renting an angle grinder from ACE. Our bike was freed and we continued our vacation thanks to the wonderful ACE employees who saved the day.

I had to replace some parts in the bathroom this weekend quickly to avoid damage. They had the parts I needed in stock and at a really good price. I love buying flowers here in the spring, too. The staff is very helpful.

Everything is severely overpriced but if you need a tool or something to complete your job they have it.

Honestly just rude people who werent helpful. Ive been to other aces that were good. This one just seemed angry and like no one cared or like they were being forced to work there. Not a nice place.

I had 3 keys made. You could tell the fellow loved his job and took pride in his work. He told me to hang on to the reveipt in case the keys didnt work he would replace them with no cost to me. I had the same thing done at another place, none of the keys worked. I did get my money back but cost me a lot of time and frustration. I recommend Ace Hardware in Harvey, of course the keys worked, and the fellow even offered me popcorn.

Knowledgeable and friendly people at this locally owned franchise operation. Smaller selection of items than the big box stores, but the products you find there are usually of a quality that will last, not the kind that you break and replace. Free delivery to the store when purchasing online from the corporate side of the operation is also a plus.

The employees were very knowledgeable about their products. They were also very helpful and answered all the questions that I had. A very pleasant shopping experience.

Aside from repeated high quality customer service I stopped by once while the power was out. No problem - ACE has flashlights after all. A little shopping in the dark with the help from a employee with a light and I was good to go on my handyman projects for that Sunday. Top form!

Stood for over an hour after already having a reservation the day before. Then because i was using cash i had to pay an additional 100$ as a deposit. I was assured i would get it back when i dropped the dolly off. And of course the nelson oil refused to give me my cash back when i dropped it off. So uhaul mailed me a check to my home address. Could have been alot worse. Thats why 2 stars.

Nice little hardware store. They have a lot in there. Im writing because the marker is in the wrong place, though. Go South out of Marquette for about 5 miles. Just after you pass the rock cut on your right start looking for a parking lot also on the right. Theres Ace.
