I love the coffee selection…had the plain latte and loved it, just how a latte should be.Eggs Benedict crepe was amazing. Hearty and filling. Then we had the strawberry shortcake crepe to finish it all off…that did not disappoint either. More like a strawberry cheesecake but Im not complaining.

The best crepes ever, and the owner is so sweet! They have limited seating inside, and now less because of Covid, so my friends and I usually pick up food and take it home. They have a wide variety of coffee and tea, and everything I’ve tried is great.

Excellent breakfast crepes, highly recommend the Hamster. Very friendly staff who took the time to walk us through the menu. Also fresh coffee, had the Americano because I drink black coffee, but they can make any coffee you like. Also have lunch/dinner crepes. Highly Highly recommend.

Went here many times. Elena the owner always greets me with complements and kind words. Crapes are awesome. They make them in front of you and i love to watch how its made. If you come between 11am and 1pm the wait can be about 30 minutes so plan accordingly. Thats because everything is made to order and it takes 5 to 7 minutes to make each crape. Crapes are a little pricey but sure worth the money as they are made with only fresh ingredients and as the owner says always with love. O, and coffee is one of the best in Charlotte.

Matthews is a long drive for us, but the Yelp top 100 list brought us here.The restaurant is fast casual, so you order at the counter, take a number, find a seat, and your food is brought out to you. Our first set of crepes came out pretty fast. There were more people in front of us when we ordered dessert, so those took a little longer.We started with the gyro and Philly cheese steak crepes. Both were tasty, but my husband and I both preferred the gyro. The only downside was that there wasnt much meat on it.Of course, you cant come here without getting some dessert crepes. We got the bananas foster and the peaches and cream (the special of the day). I loved both with a preference for the peaches and cream because it had a lot of peaches. The bananas foster was really light on bananas.Theres a handful of tables inside and a couple of tables outside as well.If youre looking for some good crepes, look no further.

What they spare on plates, they make up for in taste and speed. Ive been here multiple times with my family and it has been a wonderful treat everything. I couldnt recommend them more!

Im a big fan of crepes and have been wanting to try this place, I had one savory and one sweet. The crepes themselves were tough to cut through but I did find the savory crepe flavorful it had egg bacon ham and cheese inside. The dessert crepe was disappointing not only because the crepe was tough but the strawberries were not ripe nor have much flavor the cream was ok but overall the flavor was just meh!

This was my first visit here and I loved it. They have something for everyone and they are so friendly and helpful. Cant wait to go back!

Second time visiting Royal Cafe and Creperie, we ordered the Chicken Chipotle crepe it was delicious the ingredients were super fresh and the service was outstanding!

I have now been to the Royal Cafe and Creperie twice now and both of my experiences have been fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic. Their massive assortment of coffee and tea options are the cherry on top. Id highly recommend this as a stop when youre in Matthews.

I was hoping this would be a good experience, but the food was disappointing and had very little flavor. Even though I knew they didnt serve authentic French crêpes, I was still surprised by how bland mine was. Also, our wait was long. The food was ready, sitting on the counter for 5 or 10 minutes before I walked up to ask the lady working there if it was ours. She asked what table we were at (our table number was clearly visible to her), I told her what we ordered, and she brought over only one of our dishes. My friends food just sat there for another few minutes while we awkwardly wondered if we should say something. Finally, she brought it to us. Its a tiny place and the food is prepared quickly, so a half hour wait is kind of ridiculous.

I really loved it here, the atmosphere is great and so is the food. you can get any type of crepe at any time of day which is nice. the only thing was that the place can get a teensy bit crowded at times. but other than that you should definitely come here!

My wife and I happened across this place purely by accident then happened by it again a few more times. The entrepreneur was an absolute pleasure to be around. The staff members were excellent and the food was amazing. The kitchen is open to view so you can watch the preperation and its enjoyable to see the experts at work. Be warned its mesmerizing to watch and smell the fine foods and coffee being prepared but it may ding your wallet. It can be a little pricey but for the indulgent treat you couldnt ask for a better option!

The owner Elena and her staff were so welcoming and personable. This was our first time and it wont be the last. They were very accommodating with our changes as well as others to the orders. The crepes were made to order perfectly and were scrumptious. Highly recommend if you are in the Matthews/Mint Hill areas.

Great place in downtown historic Matthews, NC. AWESOME crepe selections... savory and sweet. And over 30 loose leaf teas to choose from! Frozen coffees, and a full coffee bar. We had a standard English breakfast coffee with the pour over teapot, cappuccino and the roast beast crepes with roast beef, Swiss, avocado, horseradish sauce and baby spinach. For dessert, we opted for the bananas foster crepes... traditional bananas fosters wrapped in a crepe with pecans, caramel, and a little bit of yum!

Good neighborhood joints. Laid back and very good service. Excellent coffee and local feel. Price is moderate. They do have European feel with menu’s written on the wall. I like it. I would visit again.

Enforces 6ft.Today I tried a limited edition menu item called Summer Dream. Is a tasty, refreshing beverage that I suggest. Since its new, theyre still adjusting to how to ring it up on the register. I usually get savory crepes when I come, but today I got the Bavarian Creme Crepe. It was absolutely delicious. It balanced real well with the Summer Dream beverage.

Best Coffee hands down and delicious crepes! I had a Bravo coffee and a Philly Cheese Steak crepe. The coffee was the smoothest and creamiest coffee I have ever had. The crepe was huge ...but I apparently had NO problems finishing it:-) - so yummy and satisfying.

The staff here was above and beyond friendly and helpful. The crepe I had was great and fairly priced. There isnt a whole lot of seating so be prepared for that if they are busy. All in all I definitely recommend stopping by for some coffee and food.

We stumbled upon this Cafe when walking around Matthews and boy am I glad we did! Service was great. We were greeted right away and was given a run down of their menu and specials. I went with the Hamster breakfast Crepe and my goodness it was amazing! I also had an iced coffee that was delightful. My mother is an English tea drinker and she was very satisfied with her tea, as it came in the perfect pot that kept warm and poured easily from the bottom so no spilling. We will definitely be back to try the dessert crepes!!

Drove all the way from Mooresville to come back to this place! So good. Ive had the greek crepe and the ham & swiss crepe. Today, I got the egg benedict crepe. Very good. Big enough to split with someone. Im never able to eat a whole one. For drinks, the mint raspberry lemonade spritzer is delicious. Today, I opted for the winter cherry with espresso...very good! They also have dessert crepes which look delicious! If you have a crepe craving, this place is a great choice. The staff are also always friendly. We did wait a while for our food order (30+ minutes) but worth the wait in my opinion. I recommend!

This was my first time ever having creps and I must say it was excellent. I ordered the Philly cheese steak and it can with this orangeish sauce that just made the meal.I really liked how this place has vegetarian options as my girlfriend doesnt eat meat.Google only has this place listed as $ but I would have to say it is $$. For two creps and 2 hot teas it was around 25$The loose leaf hot teas were served in the coolest thing ever. It filled our cups from the bottom and was enough for like 3 cups of tea.I cannot wait until I can come back and try their dessert crepes.

I love the cheese steak crepe here. Well balanced, and the chipotle aioli is hard to beat. The crepe itself also has a nice crispiness without being too crunchy or brittle.Specialty drinks and teas here are great too.Service is always top notch, and the lady that runs the place is full of great recommendations and positive energy.

Best coffee I’ve had since I’ve moved here fromDallas. The espresso they use in the drinks is one of the smoothest I’ve ever had in my years of professional roasting, and in my career as a barista.The atmosphere itself is a little tight, but I didn’t mind it at all. The S’mores crepe my partner and I got, along with our coffee ( I got an americano, he got a Winter Cherry Latte), was well worth the wait AND price.The service was warm and inviting, and I can’t wait to come back and treat myself to more of their menu.

Theres expanded outdoor seating from their usual so thats appreciated! We ate on the benches on the green. Food was as good as always. Recommend ordering ahead!

I feel like the good reviews maybe come from people that haven’t ever had a real crepe. The food was average with cheap ingredients ie black olives when “kalamata olives” .. small tiny chucks of chicken and the crepe was kind of greasy. I chose this spot of loyalist market because of the reviews so felt it was necessary to write one. Disappointing 5/10

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this restaurant if youre in the area and you have a craving for great food.
