Dark, dingy, and Most of time NO ONE is on location, even though hours are posted. Metal panels sticking out so you cut yourself trying to move furnitire out. On the first floor alone there are 115 light bulbs burned out of the 264. Yes, we counted because when we told them, they just kept saying it was motion sensors, but no matter how much motion you show, the light will not turn on if the bulbs are BURNED OUT. It is dark, and we had to use a flashlight just to see inside our unit. The door to the unit would also not stay up. We had to bring a 2x4 just to prop open the door. They did not fix this so we emptied out and left.

I must say that I just experienced the most stressful time ever with Public storage. However, I must give honor where honor is due. Lisa is the sweetest and most helpful person Ive ever met there. She supported me when I really needed to get things done. You will love her personality and hopeful spirit. Samantha was so helpful and supportive in one of the most stressful moments for Lisa and I.Their customer service is beyond satisfaction and they are there reasons I will work with Public storage again. Brian the district manager was understandably compassionate about my situation and offered the best solutions to my problem.These three make Public storage look great. Thank you all for everything you did to make my visit better. To everyone else, learn how they all treated me as the customer and honored the name and service of Public Storage.

Me and my Husband Tom stopped by this property today searching around for storage because well soon be selling our home. Quantietta was so pleasant and kind. She showed us around the facility and explained everything so well. I can say we will keep Public Storage at the top of our list!! Very nice.

I had a wonderful experience here with Lucille the other day. She was so helpful in assisting me with my packing problems. Moving is very stressful, and to have an person such as Lucille, suggest different ways to accomplish the task took a lot off my mind. Public Storage should be LUCKY to have such a great person working for them.My second great experience at this store. Lucille is so professional and knowledgeable about her products. Keep up the good work Lucille, Ill be back.I told Lucille Id be back. Wonderful service even though she was very busy on Sat. She cleaned out the office and got me just what I needed. I have used Public Storage several times in the past 5 years and have had a decent experience each time. However, this last experience was far from acceptable. It started with me making an online reservation for a 10x10 unit at the Indian Trail location. One hour later, truck & trailer loaded on the way, I got a phone call informing me that my unit was just rented. At first it seemed they were going to leave me hanging, but they managed to find me a 5x10 at this Matthews location. Upon arrival, I was immediately informed by Syndi (manager) that they could not honor the $1 for 1st month because this unit was only running 50% off. Fine. I pulled out the lock I had purchased for the unit to be told they didnt insure that lock, but I would still be responsible for the $11/mo insurance. Fine. I was prorated on my Visa the remainder of November and the month of December. I was asked if that was the card I wanted to keep on file. It makes sense that auto-pay is something I should have to sign for, so it was my fault to make that assumption. However, when asking if they would waive the late fee, I got a very impersonal, No. I decided I would try my luck in customer service. Major failure. A guy named Brian (dont know last name) took it upon himself to accuse my suggesting a bad review for my experience as blackmail for not waiving the late fee. This was the final straw for me. I dont condemn Public Storage, but I would HIGHLY recommend you at least not use this location.

Sharon was wonderful helping us to determine just the right size that was right for us. She took her time with us and didnt rush us. She was the epitome of good customer service.

Have been using Matthews Public Storage for about four months now. Place is very clean and there has rarely been a time I couldnt get a cart. Lucille and the rest of the staff are awesome. Lucille was very helpful in picking out the appropriate storage units and answering all our questions. They were the best part of our move.We purchased all our moving boxes there as well. The prices on the boxes were competitive with other sellers AND very durable. Saved a lot of money buying them there and packing ourselves.Would use them again.

I want to thank Lucille for her courteous, friendly and helpful manner in meeting our familys storage needs. She was both pleasant and knowledgeable in answering our questions. The Storage building was clean, secure and well-kept. I would definitely use this Storage facility again.

My family has recently moved to the area and used this facility. Unfortunately, they had a very unfavorable experience with one staff member...repeatedly. Another identified herself as a floating manager and was perfectly lovely. I wish that my Dad would have let that manager know that he had such a rough time dealing with the other attendant but he didnt. However, the owner of our moving company called the regional manager and got no satisfaction. The attendant in question was rude, belligerent, even almost accusing my Dad of lying (she told him that his lock was still on the unit when in reality he had it in his possession at home and she wouldnt believe him, telling him to go back and get it off the storage room!?! He insisted that she accompany him and it was unlocked and clean swept. She never even apologized for her error!) . She was very difficult to work with regarding not allowing the movers ease of movement in and out, which cost them extra time that we had to pay for! I wouldnt recommend this to you for fear that you have this lady wait on you. My folks used two other facilites locally and had no problems. Everyone else seems to write glowing reviews but i am only sorry that we cannot.

We have not had a storage units in years. When I first met Lucille she was very helpful and really nice. The next day I met Bobby and the same . By meeting these two sold me on renting our unit from their location. I will glady refer my family and friends.

Bobby Crowder was awesome! Very helpful and friendly. The only reason Im giving the place 4 stars is because of the first woman I talked to. I had come in the day before not even 5 minutes after hanging up with my follow up call. They were confirming my reservation. I told them I was waiting at the light to u-turn and that I would be right there. I got there in 90+ degrees heat to find a sign saying they were out and wouldnt return for 10 minutes. I had Just hung up with them! Where did they go? So I waited over 15 minutes then finally gave up and left. It was very hot out and I didnt want to overheat my car waiting there. I understand things come up. But they knew I was at the light right there. Couldnt they had called to say they would be a few minutes? I dont know the woman I talked to. Just my recommendation, try to get Bobby if you go in.The units are good. Nothing bad to say about the property. Just remember to bring a lock! Their locks cost $20.

Vida was exceptionally pleasant and genuine. She was very knowledgeable. The only issue was the feasibility of the location; cant make left turn in/out which led to inconvenient uturns in a moving truck and out of the way re-routing.

I have always used public storage for all my storage needs anytime I have been in need of their services. They can be a bit pricey, but most of their facilities are climate controlled. So you can be sure that your precious belongings wont be damaged due to heat or cold. And if your unit is on an upper floor, you dont have to worry about flooding. The only thing I wish they would consider changing is the hours for which customers can access their units. Access hours are from 6am to 9pm. If gated, gates lock at 9pm. For those that arent, elevator and security doors are programmed to not operate or allow you access to the main storage areas.

Easy to arrange storage. Sydni was very helpful.

Hall floors are supposed to be swept once a week, but never mopped. It took me 3 months to get the top floor swept at all. They do have good sized carts for moving your stuff. The rooms are full sized, and everything is inside. Some PSs in Charlotte have lowered ceilings and rooms are more like cubby holes, but these are good. No gate, but front office is usually manned during open hours, and I dont think the doors are open or the elevators work when the office is closed, so there is not 24-hour access. Expensive.

Sydni is always so sweet and nice every time I come into the office! She provides a 5* plus service everytime. I am very happy to be storing my things here at public storage

Having rented a storage place there 5 years ago I was surprised to see the degrading condition of the storage place when I rented a unit there again this year. The entrance has most of the times waste from tenants that they discard (the large dumpster they had is gone), trolleys are just left as the tenants please (no one seems to care how they are parked), the toilets are locked up and out of order since at least 5 months, at least one elevator has no covered ceiling and shows wires and the bare fluorescent lamp. The elevator got stuck with me in the 2nd floor - the door closed and despite pressing a button it wouldnt move. I had hit the alarm button but nothing happened. The girl from the reception said that the elevator would sometimes act up. The floors smell like moth powder which I am sure they have to use but that is what your stuff will smell too! I had vacated my storage 3 days after the automatic payment was taken for that month- dont bother to contact the Charlotte district manager about a possible reimbursement of the rent as he will not get back to you. I guess they need your funds to update their storage spaces!If there were 1/2 star I would give that! Think twice where you rent!

Stay away from Public Storage!!! Im renting smallest space available. In the beginning it was $47, and then they raised the price to $57, then $67, now they raising it up to $75.If you try to reach a billing department you phone call will always be routed around and back to the local front desk, and they know nothing about price increase and why it changes.
